Watch Ed Sheeran Perform 'Shape of You' With Toy Instruments on 'Fallon'

Musician teams with host, Roots for adorable rendition of pop hit

Ed Sheeran teamed with the Roots and Jimmy Fallon for a playful rendition of his latest hit, "Shape of You," with toy instruments.

Ed Sheeran teamed up with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots for a ramshackle version of his hit "Shape of You" played with toy instruments on The Tonight Show Monday.

Sheeran pumped a banana-shaped shaker for extra percussion and sang over a mix of xylophone, kazoo and ukulele. The busy arrangement was a far cry from the sparse pop of the studio version of "Shape of You," but the performance still captured the song's playfulness, especially as the Roots hummed the song's rumbling backing vocals.

"Shape of You" will appear on Sheeran's new album ÷ (Divide), out March 3rd via Atlantic Records. Sheeran released "Shape of You" and another song, "Castle On the Hill," in January. The songs went to Number One and Number Six on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively, making Sheeran the first artist to debut two singles in the top 10 simultaneously. In February, Sheeran released a third single, "How Would You Feel (Paean)."
