Broad City's Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer dropped by The Tonight Show Friday to play a round of Spin the Microphone with host Jimmy Fallon and Tyler Perry. The game, a sort of karaoke roulette, forces a contestant at random to sing a familiar hit without the help of lyrics. In this case, Spin the Microphone results in Jacobson's butchering of Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait" and Glazer adding a bunch of placeholder "something, something" to the lyrics of her Bell Biv DeVoe's Poison duet with Fallon.
Making the performances somewhat palatable is the Roots, who provide the music for the game. However, even the house band can't conceal the visceral shrill that is Perry's singing voice, as the director turned in a pair of unlistenable renditions, first a solo try through the Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" that's marred by a harsh falsetto and then Perry and Fallon's attempt to sing Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know."
Broad City returns to Comedy Central for its Hillary Clinton-featuring third season on February 17th. This week, Comedy Central announced that they were renewing the acclaimed comedy series for a fourth and fifth season.
