Seth Meyers Coerced Back to 'Late Night' in 'Making a Murderer' Parody

Host lays on thick Wisconsin accent as he tries to prolong holiday vacation

Seth Meyers had to be coerced back to 'Late Night' Monday in a cold open paying homage to Netflix's 'Making a Murderer'

Seth Meyers returned to Late Night Monday with a goofy homage to Netflix's hit true crime docu-series Making a Murderer, complete with stilted cello music and hammed-up Wisconsin accents.

The "Making a Talk Show Host" cold open poked fun at the myriad collect phone calls placed in the series, with an operator connecting Meyers with a staff member at 30 Rockefeller Center who informs him it's time to get back to work — "ya know?"

Like any normal person, Meyers isn't ready to relinquish his holiday vacation just yet and plays dumb throughout the call. "I gotta come back?" he asks. "They don't got no more reruns," the staff member tells him. "Oh, no?" Meyers retorts.

When threatening to simply not return doesn't work, Meyers relents and asks, "What time's the show on again?" "12:35," the voice replies. "God that's late," Meyers sighs, as the bit closes with an expertly photoshopped image of the host with a long, scraggly, Steven Avery-like beard.
