President Obama isn't running for a third term – it violates the Constitution's 22nd amendment. But when Jimmy Kimmel Live! hit the streets of Los Angeles Thursday for another "Lie Witness News" segment, plenty of strangers pretended to be informed on the big announcement and most of them were thrilled to do away with the 22nd.
The first interviewee transitioned from shock into confidence ("Wow, that's … oh yeah, he did make that announcement"), while another recounted watching the news with his mother, who chanted along with Obama's new campaign slogan, "if it ain't Barack, don't fix it."
Elsewhere, the Kimmel crew relayed Obama calling the election a "national shitstorm" and complaining that "his orchid collection would not survive a move." ("I call him on that – it's total BS," one man replied, burying the lead: "[Orchids] can go anywhere as long as they have the proper environment!")
The final stranger didn't pretend to already know the third term new, and his delighted reaction drew the segment's biggest laugh because he was honestly overjoyed. "Obama's gonna do a third term? Oh my God, are you serious?" he asked, before telling someone via FaceTime.
