Late Night With Seth Meyers often serves as a venue where the host and his fellow Saturday Night Live alumni recreate sketches that were written and rehearsed but never aired in a segment called "Second Chance Theatre." In the latest installment, Meyers is joined by Andy Samberg, SNL's Kenan Thompson and guest Greta Gerwig for the never-before-seen "Wanna Come With?"
The circa-2006 sketch is a bunch of co-workers hanging out at a bar where a drunk Graham, played by Samberg, annoyingly asks his office mates, "I'm gonna hit the head, you wanna come with?" Graham refuses to take no for an answer and steadfastly keeps harassing his co-workers. In the end, Graham shatters the fourth wall by asking the camera if they want to accompany him to the bathroom. The camera shakes left and right, signaling another "No."
After the sketch, Meyers hosted a roundtable discussion about the sketch – "The Talking Dead of 'Wanna Come With?'" – that also featured Samberg's fellow Lonely Island members Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer as well as SNL Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost, the sketch's co-writer in 2006. As Jost explained, the sketch was based on Samberg's actual habit of asking people if they wanted to accompany him to the bathroom:
Meyers also had some fun with Samberg's wig, which mimicked the comedian's actual shaggy do on SNL a decade ago. "Seeing yourself in the monitor, do you think it's okay that it was your haircut," Meyers asked Samberg. "I used to say –and this wig does a very good job – when I first met you, it looked like your hair was trying to eat your head."Andy Samberg parodies Justin Bieber in the trailer for the Lonely Island's new comedy 'Popstar.'
