The hunt for Pablo Escobar begins in the blistering, action-packed first trailer for Season Two of Netflix's Narcos.
The clip opens with DEA agent Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) recounting the Colombian drug kingpin's effortless escape from prison in the face of thousands of armed soldiers and multiple helicopters. "It was the biggest law enforcement blunder of all time," Murphy says. "And now we wanted payback."
The combination of Murphy's dry narration and Styx's "Renegade" gives the clip a giddy, over-the-top tone as alliances form, Escobar (Wagner Moura) regains control of his empire, violence reigns in the streets and someone gets thrown from a helicopter.
All 10 episodes of Narcos Season Two will be available on Netflix September 2nd. The show's first season drew rave reviews and garnered Golden Globe nominations in the TV drama category for Best Series and Best Actor for Moura.
"Netflix never wanted to make this show about good American cops that go to a third-world country to save poor people from a bad guy," Moura told Rolling Stone. "This concept of [who is] good and who is bad is always being played with."
