Days after the series finale of their acclaimed HBO series Girls, co-showrunners Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner announced a tour behind their weekly feminist newsletter, Lenny Letter. The six-date trek kicks off May 31st in St. Louis and wraps June 6th in Milwaukee. Tickets go on sale Friday. Lenny subscribers can access a special code for a presale launching Wednesday, April 26th.

During the Lenny: America IRL Tour, Dunham will be joined by nine other Lenny contributors: comedian/Saturday Night Live cast member Sasheer Zamata, poet Jenny Zhang, novelist Kaitlyn Greenidge, comedian/screenwriter Morgan Murphy (2 Broke Girls, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon), screenwriter Charla Lauriston (Peope of Earth, Why? With Hannibal Buress), Waxahatchee singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield, poet Rachel McKibbens and comedian Jacqueline Novak.

Konner and Dunham are also planning a Lenny documentary series for HBO based on the tour and a Lenny book imprint is launching in August with the first of six slated titles, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In a statement, Dunham and Konner hyped their objective as a quirky mixture of "politics, entertainment and conversation."

"Imagine if the beat poets weren't a bunch of ego-driven guys and there were no methamphetamines? Well, there you go!” they wrote. "Instead of publishing our newsletter from the comfort of our office we want to engage in a larger conversation across America, with women whose experiences may differ from ours but who share the same essential goals: freedom, self-actualization and the perfect night out.

"We will be talking, reading, playing music, showing films, asking and answering questions for, by, and of the women we meet," they continued. "Our plan is to create a sense of community in every city we stop in, and to take what we learn from that community with us as we continue our work as a resource for women who love humor without snark, politics without a filter and – above all – learning about each other's truth."
