Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s Mash-Up Mondays continued this week with yet another unlikely collaboration as Jewel teamed up with Kool & The Gang to form "Jewel & The Gang." The newly created singer-songwriter-disco-funk outfit blistered through a five-minute megamix of Kool's greatest hits— "Hollywood Swinging," "Ladies Night" and "Celebration" — with Jewel putting a sultry spin on the dancefloor anthems.
Jewel & The Gang follows previous Mash-Up Monday one-offs like Color Me Bradd (Color Me Badd and Brad Paisley) and Joss Stone Temple Pilots. However, this isn't the first time this year that Jewel has appeared onstage to sing with an unexpected artist. In September, Jewel joined the Foo Fighters at their Phoenix gig to perform Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" with Dave Grohl and company. Just a week later, at an Atlanta concert, "Jewel Fighters" reunited as the singer and Grohl served up a duet of Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty's "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around."
