Janeane Garofalo

Character: Beth, the touchy-feely director of Camp Firewood
Pre-WHAS: Next to David Hyde Pierce, Garofalo was the film's most recognizable face circa 2001, having spent much of the 1990s as a stalwart of the alt-comedy stand-up scene. By the time she made Wet Hot, Garofalo had starred in several movies (Reality Bites, The Truth About Cats and Dogs), co-writer and co-starred in The Ben Stiller Show, was a supporting-player MVP on The Larry Sanders Show and had suffered through an ill-fated stint in the Saturday Night Live cast.
Post-WHAS: While she's no longer the hipster icon she was at the turn of the millennium, Garofalo has maintained a prominent secondary career as a left-wing political commentator, primarily on Air America. And she's continued to work steadily on TV, giving memorable performances on The West Wing, 24, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, and Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce. That's her as a French-accented sous chef in Pixar's Ratatouille as well.
