Let's face it: 2011 was just not a good year for breakdown-prone office-dwelling alpha males at the Emmys. Steve Carell's protracted farewell from The Office was the stuff that lugubrious NBC promos were made of, and the sort of you'll-laugh-you'll-cry star turn historically welcomed by Emmy voters. But Dunder-Mifflin's finest was well and truly bazinga-ed by The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons, who nabbed his second of four Best Actor awards for the show's head nerd-in-charge, Sheldon Cooper.
