Calm down, Internet – Ronda Rousey is not engaged.
Last week, when the former UFC champ was in New York to host Saturday Night Live, she filmed a couple of promos with cast member Cecily Strong and musical guest Selena Gomez. In them, Rousey can be seen wearing some bling on her ring finger, which had folks speculating she had gotten engaged to boyfriend Travis Browne.
At the same time all this was happening, Browne's estranged wife Jenna Renee Webb – the couple are reportedly in the midst of a divorce – called Rousey out for being a "hypocrite." That's because Webb accused Browne of domestic violence last year, which sparked a lengthy investigation by the UFC. While they found "inconclusive evidence" that any violence had occurred, Webb had a lot to say about Rousey's decision to date Browne when their relationship went public, and when the rumors of an engagement began to swirl, she took to Instagram to vent her frustrations.
Kudos to the people with a strong enough backbone to take ownership of the decisions they make, wether good or bad, mistakes or not--who don't try to cover their tracks by changing their story to please society.. Pet Peeve: When people think they can do stupid shit and not get called out on it.... I'm pretty sure we're still married. When he hits you across your pretty face don't worry, I'll be right here to say #IToldYouSo I wish you both the best #yourewelcome #hyprocrite #thankyou #DNB
However, according to Entertainment Tonight, those rumors are nothing but. A rep for Rousey denied that she had gotten engaged, and explained that Rousey was simply trying on jewelry during SNL rehearsals, hence the rock on her finger. It probably won't squash the beef between Rousey and Webb — will anything? — but the talks of her and Browne tying the knot can go away. For now, at least.
