Saves the Day
If you had five minutes alone with Snoop Dogg
...
Chris Conley: I'd ask him if I could do a banana slap with the
banana peel and then I'd ask him to banana slap me so we could
exchange banana slaps.
What's it like being an older band at the
fest?
Kind of cool, actually. I never thought about it until going on
Warped Tour until a few years ago and all these bands would come up
to us and say "You influenced us when we were first starting out
and we wouldn't be a band without your album Stay What You
Are." They're all so cool and respectful that it feels great,
it's an honor. We don't feel like we're older, we just happened to
get started so young.
Best thing about playing a parking lot:
The tailgate after. Everybody flips down the door to the trailer.
Last night on the Chiodos bus, everyone was wearing fake mustaches
and boas and it was a total fiesta. It was a wild, wild night.
Bamboozle vs. Warped Tour:
I absolutely love playing this big Bamboozle festival. There's so
may bands and so many fans — it's wild, it's like emo
Woodstock.

"This record is about the black clouds inside
my mind," says Saves the Day frontman and songwriter Chris Conley of his
band's new record Sound the Alarm. "It was these intense fears and
paranoia and diluted thoughts that were eating me alive. It was utter
insanity."
The insanity Conley is referring to began in 2003, when
Saves the Day released In Reverie, their major-label debut, on
DreamWorks Records. This was supposed to be the New Jersey punks' big break
-- but fate had other plans....
