During a recent visit to Rolling Stone, Paramore’s Hayley Williams was reluctant to talk about the new video for the band’s Brand New Eyes single “Brick By Boring Brick” — to be fair, Williams was reluctant to talk in general, as she was still suffering from laryngitis — hoping instead to keep the band’s long-in-the-works clip under wraps. But now the secret is out and the video is streaming on Paramore’s official Website.

The CGI-heavy, autumn-washed video finds a young girl wearing butterfly wings and carrying a doll — apparently a representation of Hayley’s own psyche — running carelessly around a dream world while the now-blonde Hayley sings alongside a newly dug grave. (more…)

Last night Paramore kicked off a month-long North American tour at the Fox Theater in Pomona, California, and though most of the band’s fans already knew that Hayley Williams had gone blonde thanks to a performance Monday on The Tonight Show, the formerly flame-haired frontwoman had another surprise up her sleeve: She’d lost her voice.

“I got sick a week ago, and I just wanna apologize to everybody — even if you think I sound cool and tough,” the 20-year-old singer announced with a rasp near the end of the hour-long show. “I guess it wouldn’t be a Paramore tour without Hayley getting sick.” (more…)

Consider the “internal issues” officially dealt with. Though Paramore cancelled a handful of European dates amidst rumors of breakup and pregnancy, it appears as though the group has worked through the normal everyday problems that afflict a young band learning to grind it out on the road. It couldn’t have come at a better time, too, as Paramore were refreshed and vibrant as they kicked off a U.S. tour opening for Jimmy Eat World, the emo elders who gave the young upstarts a reason to emote in the first place.
