New Music Report: Miranda Lambert

11/11/09, 5:34 pm EST

It might’ve been released a month ago, but Rolling Stone contributing editor Christian Hoard is still singing the praises of Miranda Lambert’s third album Revolution in this week’s New Music Report segment “Christian Rock.” (And no, he’s not just being nice because Lambert knows how to handle a firearm, as evidenced here.)

Revolution is a varied, tuneful collection of songs that finds Lambert singing about cheating boyfriends, rednecks and the working class in songs both beautiful and angry. Throw in covers by artists like John Prine and the result is what Hoard calls the second best country album of the year behind Brad Paisley’s American Saturday Night. For more on Lambert’s Revolution, check out the New Music Report above.

MIRANDA Lambert is AWESOME! All three of her albums ROCK as does she, especially LIVE. I love “Revolution” and I love the fact that Rolling Stone does also!

If I died and could come back as anyone… it would be MIRANDA! she is beyond amazing in person and on her albums. So much truth behind her songs as well as honesty. Gotta love us cowgirls!

I shot photos of her show in Chicago for her mom just days after “Revolution” came out. I was surprised at how good the songs sounded live already and how well the crowd loved them, its not easy to debut new songs live, that’s usually when people leave to go get a beer.

my whole life, i’ve never felt like i’ve belonged, anywhere. i’ve been place to place, and never really fit in. but, in miranda lambert’s music, i have found a home. so, thanks, miranda. it feels good to finally belong..

Ran’s star is just beginning to shine, if you can believe it. Her potential is boundless. After the CMA’s, her White Liar is beginning to skyrocket. I can’t believe the amount of airplay that it is getting in New England.
