Samantha | 11/11/2009, 6:23 pm EST

dani | 11/11/2009, 6:26 pm EST

Hey anonymous, still waiting to hear why you dont think this guy is considered Rock? You scope out articles written on him just so you can bash him Heaven forbid that someone might love this “gay” gorgeous f*ckin sexy vocals out of this world guy, huh? Adam is the defination of Rock, get used it. He is here to stay and we Love him, YA, HE FREAKIN KICKS A$$!!!!

straightmenloveadamlambert | 11/11/2009, 6:43 pm EST

He has the pipes, the look, the bravado and taste. Freddie Mercury, Gene Simmons, Thom Yorke, Kurt Cobain, Beyonce and Steven Tyler all rolled into one.

tippy | 11/11/2009, 7:28 pm EST

Good for the people who are in love with Lambert and all, but you fangirls need to calm down. You’re not exactly helping the man look credible by acting like 12-year-olds.

tippy | 11/11/2009, 7:30 pm EST

BTW, good-looking guy, but he needs to get acquainted with chapstick. I’m just saying.

Baxter | 11/11/2009, 8:20 pm EST

if you consider Queen (Freddy Mercury) as Rock then you must consider Adam Lambert Rock. If you consider Kiss as Rock then you must consider Adam Lambert as Rock – get it?

ianaleah | 11/11/2009, 9:28 pm EST

pop/rock/electro whatever- Adam rocks my world.

squiggly | 11/11/2009, 10:50 pm EST

I agree, tippy, some of the fanbots can be a little over- enthusiastic. But, about his lips……. those are freckles.

To Baxter | 11/11/2009, 10:52 pm EST

No, I don’t get it. Please elaborate a little further if you can, please.

Anonymous | 11/11/2009, 11:29 pm EST

Yes some fanbots are over the top but many of us are so grateful for the Joy and Fun Adam has put back in our lives. Working long hours, raising kids on your own, so much to do for others (which is great) but then to have something like Adam to recharge the batteries – it’s amazing. So forgive us for acting a bit crazy.

Re: Adam rock
Either you dig him or you don’t. Doesn’t matter either way. It’s all good.

Anonymous | 11/11/2009, 11:36 pm EST

Baxter, Freddy Mercury was in a band that played rock music. Kiss is a band that plays rock music. The only music I have heard from Adam is over-the-top pop music. The mere fact that you equate image with a genre of music means that you do not get music at all. Adam may wear “glam rock” clothes and sport “glam rock” make-up, but the guy is not a rock artist. You all act like if a person does not like Lambert, they must be narrow-minded. I don’t like a person’s image being shoved in my face without music to back it up. That is all. Btw, I realize he has a very good voice.

Bill | 11/12/2009, 4:16 am EST

“Adam is the defination of Rock, get used it.”

HAHAHAHA

Wow, your musical opinions just lost any credibility whatsoever.

Mathew | 11/12/2009, 4:23 am EST

I cant believe this dudes career is already over. smfh.

sheila | 11/12/2009, 6:19 am EST

whose career are you talking about, Mathew??? Whatever. I’m sure it’s not Adam’s…

JK | 11/12/2009, 6:33 am EST

I’m always impressed by how articulate he is. I’ve really enjoyed the snippets I’ve heard of the album and I will be buying the CD. But I do think he’s incredibly polarising and some people will not like it. To each their own.

tired | 11/12/2009, 7:42 am EST

Whew!!! thought RS was going to have a week without posting an article on Adam. Good thing he keeps doing things that are important.

@Anon | 11/12/2009, 8:17 am EST

Rock star:

1. A singer, vocalist, vocalizer, vocaliser – a person who sings

2. A famous singer of rock music

3. A rock ‘n’ roll musician

3. A performer or composer or fan of rock music

Anonymous | 11/12/2009, 9:12 am EST

@Anonymous | 11/11/2009, 11:36 pm EST: Thank God there’s still some sanity left in this world. Thank you, stranger, for your post.

Spock | 11/12/2009, 9:48 am EST

His video interviews are hilarious. He’s so friendly and articulate talent aside. And I just read Madonna’s Bassist Monte Pittman is in his band.

Macca’s bassist Brian Ray, Tim Burton, Muse, Ben Barnes, Annie Lennox, Weezers Rivers Cuomo, Pink
Queen, Gaga, Slash…I’m jealous lol.

Kristina | 11/12/2009, 11:56 am EST

His freckle lips are adorable.

Adam’s got everyone acting giddy around him, even Meat Loaf and Brian May. It’s because Adam’s got that something special that only comes around once a decade or so.

His album is going to be absolutely killer. I’m excited for everyone to hear his pipes!

November 23!

JJ | 11/12/2009, 12:21 pm EST

Adam make the Jonas brothers look like rock gods. I have never seen a bigger poser in my life since this guy. Yes he can sing, but you need that x factor also, that is something he doesn’t have, don’t be fooled by all that pancake make-up!

alrighty then | 11/12/2009, 12:31 pm EST

He’s got good pipes, is a nice guy and has a great media image to work with. Too bad he’ll never win over real rock fans. I see gays and chicks as his biggest fan base. Even straight dudes like Bon Jovi. Adam looks like a chubby young Elvis, maybe that’s the appeal.

Anonymous | 11/12/2009, 12:47 pm EST

Adam’s career will be very short-lived.

He may have an okay voice, but he doesn’t play instruments, he doesn’t write his own music, the type of music he’s featuring on his album is disposable pop will be fashionable in the short term, but will not sell long term… the hype will die, and will die quickly. You will see.

hell no! | 11/12/2009, 2:46 pm EST

I just heard longer clips of a few songs on youtube, & good god those songs are bad, corny as hell! I couldn’t believe what i was hearing! The music was just silly. how can you people & RS take this #hit seriously?

Schultz | 11/12/2009, 3:17 pm EST

“straighmen…” must be high – that dude is nowhere close to those you mentioned in your post.

dandelion | 11/12/2009, 3:57 pm EST

@anon:
How do you know he doesn’t play instruments? I’m not saying he does, but he’s barely proven himself, and as for him not writing his own music, you don’t know that, either. How many AI winners have written material for their first albums? Yeah, exactly. If you’re not into him or his music, fine, but if you’re gonna question his abilities, make sure you’ve got solid proof to back it up.

dandelion | 11/12/2009, 3:58 pm EST

Sorry, I meant AI contestants, since he didn’t win.

MiMi | 11/12/2009, 5:58 pm EST

ADAM IS A ROCK GOD!!! ADAM IS A STAR!!! ADAM HAS THE BEST VOTCE IN THE WORLD!!!! AND HE KNOWS HOW TO PERFORM. HE WILL BE HERE FOR A LONG LONG TIME. GO ADAM!!!

PO | 11/12/2009, 6:23 pm EST

“he doesn’t write his own music”

UMM, YES HE DOES LOLLLLL.

LOOOOL at okay voice as well! Dude can hit EVERY f-n note on the guitar.

HE calls himself pop, legendary rockstars are the ones who call him a rockstar. Them > YOU.

LOL.

RL | 11/12/2009, 7:03 pm EST

@Po

I can’t find any information on him playing guitar, on anything, ever. Also, the majority of the songs on his debut are written by other artists.

I’m not an Adam hater, he doesn’t bother me, so whatever.

Richelle177 | 11/12/2009, 11:39 pm EST

Vocals…un-matched, sex appeal…un-matched charisma…un-matched..clever. .un-matched…stunning intellect….un-matched..fashi on..un-matched i could go on and on and on ..but U get the pic… here for ever! Get used to it .

knowsmusic | 11/13/2009, 2:22 am EST

Freddie Mercury,Robert Plant, Steve Marriott, Ian Gillan,Steve Perry,Ronnie James Dio,Steven Tyler,and now, Adam Lambert- a multi octave outstanding singer -praised by vocalists across the board here and abroad. He makes everything sound better, does write songs and is a mesmerizing stage performer- the real deal talent for life long success, and he is just getting started.

Anonymous | 11/13/2009, 12:38 pm EST

In 2011, Adam Lambert will be in the Where Are They Now file.

Just like the majority of other Idol finalists (and winners!).

glennn | 11/14/2009, 7:13 am EST

straight up, tippy.

Me | 11/14/2009, 12:16 pm EST

Adam does not play any instruments.

During interviews around the time of Idol, he was questioned why he never played any instruments on Idol, like many of the other finalists, Adam fully admitted he couldn’t play.

Rock | 11/14/2009, 1:21 pm EST

He sings awesome. Maybe he will have some rock songs on the album. The first song he released is a dance pop song though. That is why we question the ‘rock’. He can’t be a rock star without making rock music. Pretty logical really

MamaKath | 11/14/2009, 4:30 pm EST

I love how only the haters post anonymously. Real brave folks. Although an Adam fan from the get-go, I do question (1) the press going nuts even before he had an original (yes, written by others but not a cover like all previous AI stuff) track out there. It does hit a sour cred note with people. (2) Since the releases of TFM and FYE, I’m conflicted. TFM is typical Cavallo treatment and it needed to be. A huge song for a huge movie. FYE, I’m just feeling is a little over-produced as are the clips of some of the other songs leaked from the album. In fact, I’m surprised that the one that impresses me the most at this point was the Tedder song and I was prepared for it to be like ever other song he’s written.

I do think that Adam has the “it” factor but also fear that some people’s reactions to that fact is off-putting to the people who have the potential of becoming Lambert fans farther down the road.

As for the rock thing…Is he Bon Jovi, Motley Crue or the Stones? No. Is he Muse, MCR, IAMX, Queen and all the other electronica, alt, prog, Brit/dance? Yeah. Rock has a lot of sub-genres at this point and is pretty much a catch-all for what is not Country, Rap, Hip-Hop Jazz or Classical.

??? | 11/15/2009, 8:37 pm EST

“Rock god”- RS? Did you hear the leaked songs? Sounds like POP too me, with a little hint of light rock at best. But the one thing that stands out is… With all the top notch help, the songs are forgettable, rushed, & cheesy. I’m a fan of his & this is not coming from a haters point of view, it’s just a fans view on Adam’s new cd.

Anonymous | 11/17/2009, 2:34 pm EST

Firstly, us haters probably post anonymously because we don’t want to take the time to fill out a name. Who cares if you put a name on your post? Secondly, I just listened to the album on myspace. Pretty, pretty bad.

Simmy | 11/17/2009, 3:39 pm EST

OMG- RS, did you hear the leaked song? I hope you did, because you keep posting stuff on him, when everyone & his fans hate his new cd. It’s sucks bad!!! BAD!!! His new single flopped, now he’s releasing another new single, so soon, trying too make up for that pop crap(fye)song!

Can’t wait for RS too give his CD 4 stars, cause someone must have a mad crush on Adam, & they also must have @hit in there ears.

pretty rave girl | 11/17/2009, 4:57 pm EST

adam = amazing.
amazing = queen.
queen = rock.
rock = adam.
clear things up for you?

Anonymous | 11/17/2009, 5:05 pm EST

ahhh, but no.

adam= crappy pop
queen =/= crappy pop
queen = rock
rock =/= adam

:o

Anonymous | 11/17/2009, 5:09 pm EST

actually, not really, pretty rave girl.

adam = crappy pop
crappy pop = britney spears

and then it gets into the subject of feminism(or lack of thereof), where it gets tedious and off-topic.

but that’s technically the deal.]

by the way, miranda lambert FTW.

eva | 11/20/2009, 3:01 am EST

I listened to the stream of his album and I really love it. It’s a good pop/rock/electro fusion thing.
