Could it be that being attacked so severely by someone you loved and trusted could be traumatizing enough without having to talk about it to the overly-critical media? I was abused by my best friend for years and didn’t talk about it with anyone until nearly 12 years later. Some people never talk about their abuse. It’s very difficult.
