Rihanna Announces Revealing Interviews as “Ova” Hits the Web

11/2/09, 10:21 am EST

A new Rihanna track reportedly titled “Wait Your Turn (The Wait is Ova)” and bound for her November 23rd album Rated R hit the Web over the weekend Rap-Up reports. Fans heard a snippet of “Wait Your Turn” when Rihanna’s cryptic “The Wait is Ova” Website first launched. The original excerpt is still posted on RihannaNow, and a comparison of the two takes suggests the new leak is actually a demo. Even unfinished, though, “Wait Your Turn” carries on the dark tone Rihanna set with first single “Russian Roulette,” though with a more rocking beat.

Check out Rihanna’s most fierce looks.

Rihanna will presumably explain the inspiration behind her new sound in a pair of interviews this week, starting with the November 5th episode of Good Morning America, which will be followed by an interview on 20/20 the following night. “Now, for the very first time, Rihanna tells her story,” ABC boasts in a commercial. Rihanna hasn’t submitted to any interviews since she was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February; Brown has appeared on both Larry King Live and Angie Martinez’s radio show since his sentencing, but has stopped short of revealing the details of the pair’s altercation.

The art for Rihanna’s Rated R was also unveiled on PopEater and, like Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” look and Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” single cover, Rihanna went with the “metallic glove obscuring face” motif. Rihanna also sports a patch over her right eye in the artwork for “Russian Roulette.”

How dare Rihanna name her album Rated R. Queens of the Stone Age had that name first.

Rihanna sucks a s s! she cant sing. She is not a victim. now im not for hitting females, but I think that they just got into a fight and chris made a mistake. I believe her ass must have gave him herpes or something. Because if a man would have abused me, I would be snitching but she hasnt said anything and never will. Because she has something to hide. And now she wanna talk because of the albulm. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

Amy, your kind of thinking is what helps keep women in abusive relationships. Could it be that being attacked so severely by someone you loved and trusted could be traumatizing enough without having to talk about it to the overly-critical media? I was abused by my best friend for years and didn’t talk about it with anyone until nearly 12 years later. Some people never talk about their abuse. It’s very difficult.

People attacking her so heavily for being a victim is ridiculous. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Rihanna is the only person making REAL music anymore. Everyone else sucks!

kay | 11/2/2009, 2:13 pm EST

Amy, I agree with you, after the fight 2 weeks later her face look like it had not been touch, I’m puzzle.

so what | 11/2/2009, 4:02 pm EST

I am sick of Rihanna whinnying already! Her song is crap so now we all have to endure several more months of poor Rihanna. This is just sick & sad. Did you see Eminem’s wife Kim Mathews on TV after their domestic abuse case? How about Mickey Rourke’s wife Carrie Otis, Pam Anderson-Lee after her fights with Tommy Lee, Carly Simon after years of abuse from ex-husband James Taylor. OMG, just give me a break and make a descent song already! DAMN!

so what | 11/2/2009, 4:13 pm EST

@leon, don’t make me KISS YOU! that’s exactly what the HELL i’m talking about. She “finds her voice” when “payolla” is involved!

Black Hole Sun | 11/2/2009, 4:47 pm EST

@ Weegie: So you think Eminem sucks, but Rihanna is the only one making “real music”? I think your comments pretty much confirm that you wouldn’t know talent if it bit you in the ass.

hate it | 11/2/2009, 5:01 pm EST

im sorry but that song is trash. she could of done better. wat is she saying?? she sounds stupid.

hate it | 11/2/2009, 5:05 pm EST

im sorry but that song is trash. she could of done better. wat is she saying?? dawm sure the wait is ova. waited for this bull****

Funny | 11/2/2009, 5:45 pm EST

How she wants to talk about the incident now that she has an album to promote. She wants to draw sympathy so people can buy her album, cause her lack of talent surely won’t be an incentive to buy the album. If she didn’t want to talk about it before, then she should never talk about it, period. What an opportunist.

cherokeebaby | 11/3/2009, 2:33 am EST

Wow only in america do ppl build you up to tear you down we haven’t even seen the interview but ppl are already critizing this young lady if you don’t like her or her music why read or comment on a thread about her? Then you can her an opportunist,is this not the land of opportunity????Smdh

cherokeebaby | 11/3/2009, 2:34 am EST

yutui | 11/3/2009, 1:45 pm EST

american | 11/4/2009, 12:20 am EST

How many people need to say it. Rihanna CANNOT sing. Nekkid all over the place AND cant sing = “Woman of the Year” > WTF!!

sister | 11/4/2009, 7:47 am EST

OMG! i totally love rihanna her new song “rusian roulete” is amazing i used to hate her but, now i think shes class. x

alex | 11/5/2009, 2:03 pm EST

Amy, your right. The whole thing I really believe was an arguement gone bad. However, I am sick of hearing about her. Everyday a woman is beating within inches of her life, but were not feeling any of their pain, so what makes her so much more special? Oh yeah, the media can’t make money from the faceless victims who don’t have a album coming out or a man who is an easy target. I guess the rest of the abused women in the world need to just accept it cause its all about Rihanna?

lisa | 11/9/2009, 4:29 am EST

she tries too hard!
