But shouldn’t you write genius lyrics in order to be considered a lyrical genius? It shouldn’t just be about having a tight, sick flow, what comes out of your mouth counts as well, right? I mean Em has had some lyrical home runs, like “Stan”, “In My Closet”, “Lose Yourself”, “Sing For The Moment”, “Toy Soldiers”, but when he’s not serious, then most of his songs are crap from a lyrical standpoint… they just sound genius because of the way he delivers them. If you had 50 Cent rap “Slim Shady” or “Without Me”, then everyone would say those songs are crap, cause he’s not a good rapper. I don’t have a problem with people saying Em is great rapper, cause he really is, but “lyrical genius” is an unnecessary hyperbole, if you ask me.

also, maybe lyrical genius isn’t the word it should be, it’s not just the actual vocabulary he uses that is so enjoyable, it’s the way he sounds, his voice can sounds 5 different ways of one song and flow together seamlessly, it’s his speed he changes up constantly to match the beat flawlessly in ways other rappers would never think of, it’s the way he ever so slightly alters words to make them rhyme, he finds combinations of words and phrases that you would never imagine putting together, but when he does it, it just fits perfectly…all you see is his comedic side, which is why you can’t seem to take him seriously, please go back and listen to some of non-singles, which usually consist of all the ridiculous celebrity insults, and hopefully you’ll end up with a more informed opinion of an amazing artist

Eminem can write great lyrics, he can rap with great skill, and put on a show. Some of his songs are silly and commercial, but they appeal to kids who buy the cds. I like Eminem and think he should keep rapping and writing until he’s 50.

Yeah this performance was great! Postitive reviews all round and to top it off it was raining cats and dogs. I think at the very least Eminem has to take credit for coming back clean and sober and rocking the show harder than he did in a long time (2004 and before)

What do older people listen to? Music of their generation. Why do you think so many people like to listen to 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s rock? I was there as well I also thought the performance was moving….especialy toy soldiers I was 5 rows from the front and thought I noticed him tearing up for the song(although I might have been mistaken seein as I was trippin my balls off from the justice show)…and he knew he was gonna come out again for loose urself but it was nice and theatrical…over all it was definetly the best concert of the festival prolly followed by the black keys and justice who were both outstanding. Honestly Troy I don’t kno if i’ve ever heard something more uneducated in my life.
