Adam Lambert Debuts Disco-Glam Single “For Your Entertainment”

Adam Lambert premiered “For Your Entertainment,” the first single from his debut album of the same name, on On Air with Ryan Seacrest this morning. A press release promises that “For Your Entertainment” will be available as a stream on the AdamOfficial Website and a download on digital music services later in the day. “Hope you’re gonna wanna blast it while you’re gettin ready for Halloween!! Then at the club!!!,” Lambert tweeted minutes before the song’s first radio spin.

Lambert live: shots from the American Idol tour.

“It’s dance music with a glam-rock shuffle beat, in the style of T. Rex and ‘Rock & Roll, Part 2,’ ” Lambert told Seacrest’s listeners. The Dr. Luke-produced, Claude Kelly-penned song does boast a chugging backbeat straight off of T. Rex’s The Slider Side A, with Lambert belting out a chorus of “Can you handle what I’m about to do, it’s about to get rough for you, because I’m here for your entertainment” like the love child of Lady Gaga and Bowie’s “Lady Stardust.”

“For Your Entertainment” comes just days after Lambert’s first post-Idol single “Time for Miracles,” off the soundtrack for the disaster flick 2012, was revealed. While “Miracles” fit more into the style of arena-rocking power ballad, “For Your Entertainment” is in line with the glam revival Lambert has promised on his debut LP, and the title song is definitely deserving stylistically of that extraterrestrial For Your Entertainment album cover. The “For Your Entertainment” single cover art was revealed on Just Jared, and Glambert is seemingly paying homage to Beyoncé and Rihanna with the “face enshrouded by metallic glove” aesthetic.

Think Lambert’s album cover is out of this world? Check out these alternate takes dreamed up by Rolling Stone.

Idol site MJ’s Big Blog also reports that the entire For Your Entertainment track list was revealed early onBarnes & Noble’s Website. Its revelations: “Whataya Want from Me” was co-written by Pink and “Time for Miracles” resurfaces as a bonus track. Wondering which song Lady Gaga penned specially for the Idol runner-up? Rolling Stone has learned that song title is “Fever.” Check out FYE’s 13-song track list, song lengths and writing credits from B&N below:

1 “Music Again” 3:16 – Rob Cavallo, Justin Hawkins of the Darkness
2 “For Your Entertainment” 3:35 – Claude Kelly/Dr. Luke
3 “Whataya Want from Me” 3:47 – Pink, Max Martin
4 “Strut” 3:29 – Adam Lambert, Kara DioGuardi
5 “Soaked” 4:33 – Muse
6 “Sure Fire Winners” 3:32 – Rob Cavallo
7 “A Loaded Smile” 4:04 – Adam Lambert, Linda Perry
8 “If I Had You” 3:48
9 “Pick U Up”
10 “Fever” 3:26
11 “Sleepwalker” 4:25 – Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsay, Ryan Tedder
12 “Aftermath” 4:26

The first thing that came to mind was “Black/Gold” by Sam Sparrow.

Crappy disco-dance stuff.

Patti | 10/30/2009, 11:39 am EST

I’m giggling at the women that thought his album might be filled with “Tracks of My Tears” or “Whole Lotta love” songs.

Silly mainstream Idol watchers.

Adam’s left Idol, bitches! He’s in the world of actual CURRENT songs, now! :D

Jessica | 10/30/2009, 11:41 am EST

Wow, this is excellent song. That will makes you dance. I love it, I love it. Nothing wrong with disco song.
By the way, I bet the Dancing with the Star will use this song for their dance.
Absolutely very good song, and I can see this earn a lot of air play for years to come.
Adam did it again, Time for Miracles is a classic Rock, and Yes I love it.
This song is happy dance makes you in a good mood. I love it even more.

youngfan | 10/30/2009, 11:41 am EST

I love the song its catchy, its fun and its well sung! If anything it proves that he can pretty much sing anything…and this is only the first single…Im sure his second single will be way different…cant wait for the video and the AMA performance.

Izabel - Manila, Philippines | 10/30/2009, 11:44 am EST

Just heard his official debut single on the net and has already replayed the song for more than five times and still I could get enough of it. I have already pre-ordered Adam Lambert’s album in Amazon and I am going to download his single before the end of the day.

AL, you have proven once again that you are the greatest current singer in the whole world right now. We love you!

Carrie | 10/30/2009, 11:45 am EST

Crap, crap, crappity crap! Complete synthetic garbage! What happened to the “ROCK GOD” all you people were raving about?

He turned out to be another male version of Britney.

JK | 10/30/2009, 11:45 am EST

Pure pop crap! SO this is his first big splash song? That’s it? This song will be forgotten about in a year! What’s up whit the auto-tune? This guy wants too play rock star- NO FUCKING WAY he’s a rock star, with this crap! He’s only a cheep, campy pop star at best!!!

EPIC FAIL!!!!!!

kaaketu | 10/30/2009, 11:46 am EST

I am totally blown and totally entertained! I love it! Glambert delivers. I couldn’t be happier! Now I want MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

V from Canada | 10/30/2009, 11:47 am EST

That is the song it reminds me of Sparro’s Black and Gold. I couldn’t place it, but now that someone wrote that. It has the same beat and is very similar.

Izabel - Manila, Philippines | 10/30/2009, 11:48 am EST

LOL @ Carrie… you poor thing!

BaloonBoy | 10/30/2009, 11:49 am EST

Even tho they forgot the hook, sounds more like a demo, I like it and I hate Idol. Maybe that’s why I like it? He just glitter pis.sed all over that show.

Also, his Seacrest interview was funny. He’s a funny guy that doesn’t take himself seriously. He said he hoped his album cover would make you laugh lmao. He showed his mates and they all went OH NO YOU DIDN’T cracking up looool.

It’s good that his album is eclectic. There’s more rock and other stuff on there but they wanted his debut single to be catchy.

Which makes sense.

Izabel - Manila, Philippines | 10/30/2009, 11:50 am EST

@ JK, hope you’ll survive a heart attack because I know so well that the song tickles you so much!

KJK | 10/30/2009, 11:51 am EST

Awesome song which should get tons of radio airplay and the single cover picture…..freaking amazing

Carrie | 10/30/2009, 11:52 am EST

So where is this Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Kiss and Led Zepplin that all the fat old Adam Lambert fans kept talking about?

All he turned out to be was another Pop princess.

Jan | 10/30/2009, 11:52 am EST

Love the song and love the totally dirty lyrics. Whiners are being ridiculous. There’s a whole album full of songs so if this one doesn’t rock your boat, you’re bound to find one that does.

I guess some people just like to be negative and nasty.

But we will have the last laugh when this single hits #1.

M | 10/30/2009, 11:53 am EST

if you want rock? look out for “Music Again” by Rob Cavallo, Justin Hawkins of the Darkness

RS reader | 10/30/2009, 11:53 am EST

This is the next big Rock Star? Hmmm sounds like Britney to me.

Kelly Hall | 10/30/2009, 11:54 am EST

Love this song!
I heard Sam Sparro Black and Gold to but I happen to love his work to.
To each his own.

Jasmin | 10/30/2009, 11:58 am EST

It’s such an amazing song. Listen to lyrics, people, I can tell you it’s 100% Adam.

“Close your eyes, not your mind, let me into your soul”

Ditto.

kaylee | 10/30/2009, 11:58 am EST

I LOVE IT! It’s amazing, so addicting. There’s gonna be other stuff on the album that’s NOT going to be like this. He knows what he’s doing, don’t get your panties in a bunch. You don’t like it? Whatever, go listen to Life Like We’re Dying that’s much better LMAO

FiFyi | 10/30/2009, 11:59 am EST

One word = Karaoke.

meh

fail

Izabel - Manila, Philippines | 10/30/2009, 12:00 pm EST

@ Carrie AGAIN: YOU POOR THING AGAIN… LOL

Stole Black/Gold | 10/30/2009, 12:01 pm EST

Looks like Mr.Britney stole Black/Gold song from Sparro.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!

Y ou small time crook Mr.Britney.

Izabel - Manila, Philippines | 10/30/2009, 12:03 pm EST

@ FiFyi… you make us all laugh. Go back to work and tend to your customers… they’re all going to be hungry!

chill out Carrie | 10/30/2009, 12:05 pm EST

Most fat old Adam Lambert fans knew to expect electro-glam-dance-rock-pop from his album.

It’s the haters like you that talk about the stuff we were supposedly expecting.

This old, but not fat Adam fan loves the single. You are just smarting because you know this has hit all over it, unlike the ‘Rock God’ YOU were hoping for.

He knows exactly what he is doing.

Darrah NYC | 10/30/2009, 12:08 pm EST

hmmm, not what I expected. Kinda disappointed.

Cassidy | 10/30/2009, 12:09 pm EST

Adam I am sure will not be boxed into any one genre. This song is sexy and makes you want to dance. Other songs on the album will probably have different emotional effects. Adam’s voice will make it all coherent. His talent is enormous. I want it all on video.

POT | 10/30/2009, 12:10 pm EST

I see some people already made the connection between Sam Sparro’s Black and Gold.

marlock276 | 10/30/2009, 12:11 pm EST

It gets better with each listen. . . I LOVE it!

mbp | 10/30/2009, 12:11 pm EST

Please don’t revile Adam on the basis of one song from his album. Adam performs many styles and genres and I’m sure he will please everyone eventually. I’m not crazy about this song either but love Adam’s talent. He’s very very special and a fabulous vocal talent. Give him a chance and don’t rush to judge please.

Megan | 10/30/2009, 12:12 pm EST

Current, perfect for dance playlists – can’t wait to buy it in HQ. DW music video and live performance ASAP. and the album pronto.

raepat | 10/30/2009, 12:12 pm EST

It’s got me dancing in my seat at work! Love it.

Linda | 10/30/2009, 12:14 pm EST

@carrie, jealous much? You sound very bitter. This is an awesome first single and you can bet that the other tracks on the album will all be different from the one before. I can’t wait to hear more!

Not a rock star! | 10/30/2009, 12:16 pm EST

Oh goody, MORE POP CRAP! Somewhere David Bowie is Laughing his fucking ass off!!!

Cassidy | 10/30/2009, 12:18 pm EST

The problem with “Carrie” is that this person changes their name to post more hate. I think it is the same sicko that called Adam’s fans “Bitterberts”. She needs serious meds. I am a thin young Adam fan and my grandma who is 86 and not fat, just listened to the song and loved it. She says Adam can sing anything he wants as long as he wears tight pants and she has front row seats.

Leah | 10/30/2009, 12:22 pm EST

BRITNEY WRITTEN ALL OVER IT. UGH

Derek | 10/30/2009, 12:23 pm EST

LOVE IT

christa | 10/30/2009, 12:24 pm EST

hey guys…for those who are freaking out or trash talking because this isn’t ROCK ENOUGH…just chill out and wait!! Adam himself said numerous times that his album would have some pop and some rock…eclectic guys!! I personally love this song and people at work who know nothing about Adam heard it this morning and a few of them said “wow this guy is gonna be the next Michael Jackson” If you don’t like Adam, or his music that’s cool…we all have different tastes…you go listen to your music- just let us listen to ours!!

Louie | 10/30/2009, 12:25 pm EST

Err.. not what I was expecting. He’s totally gonna go the Gaga/Britney route. Disappointing

Sparkly Bovine | 10/30/2009, 12:28 pm EST

Just like the horrid cd cover this is more hilarity for sane people to laugh at. What some people won’t fall for. Adam Lambert is a LAME-BERT. lol

therigo | 10/30/2009, 12:30 pm EST

this is crap. puke.

JLM | 10/30/2009, 12:32 pm EST

I am so loving it!! Adam is edgy even doing current pop!! Love the sexy, catchy vibe. Will definately get him on the radio. He said the rest of the album is all different stuff including some rock. Can’t wait!!

chris | 10/30/2009, 12:33 pm EST

people here don’t follow him except to post garbage..or they would know that the CD is going to have some rock genre on it…he told everyone exactly what this single was going to sound like…so stop posting if you don’t have a clue, you sound like idiots.

@Izabel-manila, phil... | 10/30/2009, 12:34 pm EST

Are you 9 years old? You sound retarded. The comments you are posting don’t even make any sense, so shut up!!!!

FATBERT’s new song blows HARDCORE!

Steph | 10/30/2009, 12:34 pm EST

I love this song. It’s fun! He said during the interview that his cd will be eclectic.

That’s right up my alley. I love everything from dance music to metal to Manson and most everything in between…except country (gotta have limits)…

Glitter Goddess | 10/30/2009, 12:42 pm EST

LMFAO! Some of you people obviously don’t get Adam AT ALL. This song is fucking amazing! Have you even listened to the lyrics? Sexy! As! Hell!

Kelly | 10/30/2009, 12:42 pm EST

Barf, first it was that womany cd cover now this womany song.

He has too much estrogen.

prgemgirl | 10/30/2009, 1:14 pm EST

LOVE IIIIIITTTTTTT!!! Was wary at first listening but the more I listened, the more it grew on me and made me want to DANCE!!! The beat, the lyrics.. WHOA!!!!! Then Adam caps it all with his signature wail!!!! THIS IS NOW,THIS IS CURRENT! It will go straight to #1!! CHILL OUT PEOPLE. Adam has set aside surprises us in the next 11 epic songs in the album.

Skylar | 10/30/2009, 1:16 pm EST

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I LOVE FYE. I have listened like a million times. Hot, cool, current and sexy as all get out.

Now I am dying for the video and can you imagine this performed on the AMA’s by Adam? Cold showers needed world wide.

Sherena | 10/30/2009, 1:18 pm EST

DID ANYONE SERIOUSLY THINK HE WAS GOING TO DO A ROCK ALBUM?

Fail. Failfailfail. There’s genre crossing between rock and pop, but he was ALWAYS gonna go the pop/dance route. Rock doesn’t sell like it used to, and there’s too much “cred” bullshit in the industry for an American Idol alumni, especially Adam, to break into rock radio.

It sounds like Gaga/Britney? EXACTLY THE POINT. It’s supposed to sound like what people in their twenties listen to now… with some 70s TWIST to it.

jill | 10/30/2009, 1:20 pm EST

I love the song! It’s HOT!!!
I can’t stop listening to it.

Jason | 10/30/2009, 1:21 pm EST

Brilliant!! It is the best single he could have put out there – it will get huge radio play and get him off and rolling for his eclectic CD. Way to go Adam. Very catchy and vocals are done very well.

mbp | 10/30/2009, 1:23 pm EST

Have now listened several times and have done a 180 on my comment above that I’m not happy with this song. I now love this song and fear that Adam has again sent a virus/worm into my brain! Damn, the man and his voice are addictive! :-) Will never be able to get him out of my heart.

Linda | 10/30/2009, 1:24 pm EST

Love It!!!!!

weegie | 10/30/2009, 1:26 pm EST

HORRIFIC !!!!!!

Schultz | 10/30/2009, 1:31 pm EST

A new level of Suck-It-Tude. Rock on lemmings!

Alex | 10/30/2009, 1:33 pm EST

Is this a Circus rejected track? It sounds like it.
Very bland. And obviously there isn’t a hint of rock here.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 1:33 pm EST

F all you haters. Adam is just too versatile for your one-dimensional minds.

Ben | 10/30/2009, 1:36 pm EST

It’s pretty standard dance-pop, I don’t know that I hear any “glam” or “rock”. It seriously could have been put out by Britney or Gaga or any of the current pop princesses out there. Lyrics are too try-hard, but no one listens to the lyrics for these songs.

It’s the kind of stuff that’ll chart if given any sort of push, though, and apparently “they” have decided to do so.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 1:37 pm EST

I LOVE IT! I think what’s going to set Adam Lambert apart in the industry is that he’s going to offer something for everyone. I really can’t think off the top of my head of another artist out there who can do that. There’s “Time for Miracles” for those who like a more traditional sound, “For Your Entertainment” for dance/pop music lovers, and there’s promise of more of a rock vibe on a couple of the songs on his upcoming CD. He’s worked with amazing writers and producers, so I know we’re in for a treat.

Weegie | 10/30/2009, 1:37 pm EST

The greatest “Rocker” to come along in decades ? You f#*#%* rubes……

jen | 10/30/2009, 1:38 pm EST

I love this new sexy song–this man is amazing and soo versatile!!

Mike | 10/30/2009, 1:43 pm EST

Wow. It sounds like a leftover from a Britney Spears album with the autotune turned up to 11. I thought all you guys said he could sing? I wonder if Slash knows he signed up for this.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 1:46 pm EST

terrible…sounds absolutely nothing like anything from “the slider,” or bowie for that matter. horrible comparisons. be ashamed, daniel kreps.

Jessica | 10/30/2009, 1:53 pm EST

How many times have Adam said his album was gonna be a fusion thing?

And How many times do people forget?

Well,I love this song and hoping for more.

kelly | 10/30/2009, 2:02 pm EST

Oh Weegie I have seen your other posts, you wouldn’t like anything he does ’cause your really jealous (its your subconscious, you just dont realize it)

Kelli | 10/30/2009, 2:02 pm EST

Love it!

Amelle, 20 | 10/30/2009, 2:05 pm EST

IT’S BRITNEY BIO.TCH. I LOVE HIM LOL.

I hope he releases one of the rockier tracks from the album next.

Can’t wait to see the live performance of this on a FAMILY SHOW lmao.

Stellagirl | 10/30/2009, 2:08 pm EST

My first listen I thought, hmmmm, catchy beat.
My second listen, hmmmm, great vocals.
My third listen, wow, those lyrics.
My fourth listen, i’m dancing!
This is going to be a monster hit!
And yeah, I’m old(er), I’m 50, and I love it!!!

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 2:09 pm EST

@Sherena

I think the reason a lot of people are commenting on the Britney/Gaga feel is because there is no 70s twist to it. This is straight up modern dance-pop. There isn’t anything wrong with that if you like that genre. But people shouldn’t pretend it’s “edgy” or “glam” or a “throwback”. This isn’t anything original, it’s just what’s on the radio now. That being said, I think it will do well and the rest of his album might have a more unique feel to it. But after all the hype, I think people were expecting more than a Circus re-tread for his first single.

Ashes | 10/30/2009, 2:10 pm EST

I heard the song and I love it !!! It’s cool, suggestive, and it rocks. Great vocals, but they are teasers. It’s an INTRO track people !!!! I can dance to it, and it’s a great party track. The naysayers and negs are here. Go buy the album, because you’re gonna LOVE it. The tracks aren’t all going to have the same sound. Hello !! Are you brainless.

Anne | 10/30/2009, 2:17 pm EST

I LOVE THIS!!!! and for those who are wondering where the rock is? it’s within the other 12 tracks on the album, we will just have to wait and see. Adam is a GENIUS, and he’s been working with music industry geniuses, this album will be EPIC! I cant wait!
WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU, ADAM!!!

Kelsey | 10/30/2009, 2:20 pm EST

It’s funny how vehement the haters are. LOL Sounds like they set their alarm clocks early just to get up and bash this song! Even saw one post on another site bashing it last night, before it was even released.
Adam, you rock! Way to go with your dance single.

Katy – Put the baby book down and stick to one screen name please, you’d be taken more seriously.

Although, I think most people have figured out who you are already!

no thanks | 10/30/2009, 2:22 pm EST

The song is horrible! it should be the cheese festival theme song. I gave it two shots and listened to it twice. it’s an annoying song.

Madison | 10/30/2009, 2:23 pm EST

Reminds me of Britney but I’ve always been a fan of her songs so I love this. This is a great pop tune.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 2:25 pm EST

Yes Kelly…….i’m terrible jealous ! What man doesn’t want to grow up to be a pock-marked, fat, talentless poof wearing makeup ?!?!?

Lalli | 10/30/2009, 2:28 pm EST

Not what I wanted to hear, but unfortunately what I expected. Britney/Gaga are not iconic nor memorable. Anyone with auto-tune could have sung this over-produced ditty. This is what is killing today’s music. I was hoping for great guitars, head-banging drums pushing that incredible Lambert voice to its limit. We need a rock star! Will anyone be singing this song 30 years from now? Remember Whole Lotta Love? I just hope Adam has not lost his rock credibility. We need more great songs with great rock voices. Adam where are you?

leigh | 10/30/2009, 2:30 pm EST

Ha! I love it! It will fit nicely into my dancey playlist. And the lyrics are GOLD lol. I can’t believe he was on Idol. He totally trolled america and I love it. This song is audible sex.

I’m really looking forward to his album, it sounds eclectic, and he has the same taste in music as I do. Glampop, electro, rock, rock-pop. Yes please.

ItIsWhatItIs | 10/30/2009, 2:33 pm EST

I LOVE the new single. It’s catchy, sexy and totally glammy!! Adam said he was going to shake things up on the album, and he’s off to a great start!(Mixture of glam, rock, pop, ballads, etc….y ou negative nellies should pay attention. He has said all along that he wasn’t going to be boxed
into one style! So enough with the “OOH where’s the rock?” It’ll come!)

And enough of the Britney comparisons.Britney is a great entertainer(for the most part),however Adam has what Ms. Spears lacks…a dynamic voice!! (Sorry Brit). Now if you were to compare him to a male Christina, then I would get it!

Oh,and Carrie,here’s a quote from Albert Einstein (site won’t vouch for authenticity,but it’s a great quote,nonetheless).

“Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from *mediocre minds.”
*on one site the word ‘weak’ was used instead of mediocre.

Doesn’t matter…weak, mediocre, who said it…it’s a quote clearly made with you in mind!! Let me know if you have trouble figuring this one out!!

djd | 10/30/2009, 2:35 pm EST

Adam has an incredible voice and is one of the most refreshing things to hit the music scene in a while. I am a huge fan.
However, I have to agree that this song sounds like something produced for Britney – who demonstrates zero vocal ability. It’s a crime to synth his voice.
I understand what he’s doing and the song will be a big hit. However, it’s not the ultimate splash that could/should have occurred. I’m hoping he’ll take his cash and make the second album one that will actually change the music scene, not just add glitter to the current pop recipe.

Cassidy | 10/30/2009, 2:36 pm EST

I do not think that there are a lot of haters, just one sick person posting under different names like they always do. Carrie and Mike have the same brand of hate. People like this make me want to love and protect Adam even more. I know his album will give everyone something to love. he can do it because he can sing any genre beautifully.

Kiki | 10/30/2009, 2:39 pm EST

I was a little nervous at first since I’m old enough to love Adam’s rock vocals, but I’m also glad that I’m young enough at heart to be able to recognize and enjoy — thoroughly — a great dance pop song! It’s catchy, got a great beat, makes you want to shake your booty, hysterical lyrics, great vocals — what more could I want? To see the music video and just how Adam’s going to perform this on the AMAs!

AlienSnow | 10/30/2009, 2:40 pm EST

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!! Wow, rarely on a first listen do I have this kind of reaction to a song. It is hot as hell – pure sex on a stick. Damn, this song makes me want to do fun and naughty things! :) Congrats Adam – you are a star! Shine on and on and on…

goff1029 | 10/30/2009, 2:41 pm EST

Before you spout off ignorant comments like “Where’s your Rock God now?” you do realize that his cd is going to be a MIX of styles, right??!! The point is Adam can sing ANYTHING. Quit assuming that Adam’s are fans are disappointed – BECAUSE WE AREN’T. He will continue to surprise us, entertain is, make us want to dance, sing, and scream!! This song is amazing – just like him!

Rick | 10/30/2009, 2:48 pm EST

My issue is that people are mislabeling his music. It is not rock, be it glam or otherwise. It is purely and simply pop. The comparisons to Gaga and Britney are correct. When I hear him being compared to T. Rex, Bowie, or even Gary Glitter I can’t help but think that the writers are selling Adam Lambert as something he is not, trying to legitimize him to rock fans. It’s very annoying. Putting a few guitars on a song does not make it rock. Listen to the glam rock artists he is compared to in this article. Nothing alike.

ItIsWhatItIs | 10/30/2009, 2:52 pm EST

I’m sorry Carrie,I shouldn’t have singled you out entirely. Add JK,not a rock star,Leah,Sparkly bovine, therigo,Kelly,Weegie and Mike to keep you company in the ‘haters’ club. I’m sure the list will grow because weak minds seem to prevail on these sites!

**Only people with cruel responses have been targeted. Those who actually have an’opinion’without being mean have been spared!

lisa | 10/30/2009, 2:52 pm EST

Oh all you haters. Adam is a great talent who will continue to shake things up. He himself has said at least he has something to fall back on. He is enoying this ride and deserves it. I am going to be rooting for him every step of the way. If you don’t like it, don’t f*cking listen to it and go away.

AAAAAAAAARGHHHH | 10/30/2009, 2:54 pm EST

HE DOES NOT NEED AUTO TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 3:06 pm EST

i hated it when i first listened to it , but i’m LOVIN’ it now !!!
it’s still not what i expected .. and i think adam can do better x100 times .. but it’s a gr8 disco-pop song .. dancy !

djandy | 10/30/2009, 3:09 pm EST

HOT SONG! Would make some hot remixes for the clubs. Go Adam!

Nela | 10/30/2009, 3:14 pm EST

All I can say is that there seem to be only 2 people commenting on this place, using different names, one in favour of Adam and another against him, please, guys, wait untill the album comes out and listen to all of the tracks to give your opinion, give it the benefit of the doubt. Relax!

Steph | 10/30/2009, 3:15 pm EST

No, he doesn’t need an autotuner. I think they use it for an effect not to cover bad singing.

I can’t wait till next month!! (I wonder if there will be other singles off his CD before it’s released?)

Leigh | 10/30/2009, 3:24 pm EST

This song is so much FUN! Adam delivers! And looking forward to all the other different types of songs he’ll have on his album. Guy’s a marvel.

terie | 10/30/2009, 3:32 pm EST

FYE … great dance tune .. can’t sit still … keep ‘bobbing’ my head & tapping my foot. Starts out like a MJ song … can just picture ADAM dancing … TFM … great power rock ballad … love both songs … so very different … can’t wait to see ADAM’s spin on the Muse song and the rest of the album. LOVE this man’s VERSATILITY & GENIUS!! … (Oh yeah! I’m neither fat nor young … I just appreciate GOOD music when I hear it … no matter what genre!)

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 3:34 pm EST

About a week ago, I still firmly believed Adam Lambert was poised to conquer the world.

But after seeing the album cover, and hearing this first single, I can safely say THAT won’t happen.

Webster | 10/30/2009, 3:36 pm EST

If I see another person use the word ‘hater’ or some variation of it, I think I’m going to lose it.

Just because someone uses critical thinking, doesn’t make them ‘haters’.

Go find some other term to destroy. If you can afford an Adam Lambert cd, you can afford a thesaurus.

dlt | 10/30/2009, 3:37 pm EST

The dude’s gay; what did you expect? You have to deal w/ BMI/copyrights/the Library of Congress if you want to stay w/ karaoke.

Hey, marketing folks, call it Glance, a mixture of glam and dance, like Grunge, etc.

JadeD | 10/30/2009, 3:50 pm EST

It’s multi-tracked pop-pap. I don’t get it. He doesn’t need multi-tracking and he doesn’t need this generic crud on his album.

I like his album cover though. Very in-your-face, typical Adam.

MARIE | 10/30/2009, 3:51 pm EST

I love it!! It is an infectious tune, artfully sung, and with hot lyrics as well. Adam is amazing!

cap1966 | 10/30/2009, 4:06 pm EST

Fell in love with Adam’s incredible voice on AI, love his TFM, was ok with his album cover even though it is way too airbrushed, but this single? NO WAY! What a waste of an incredible voice. Had he performed like this on AI, guess what, he wouldn’t have made the top 36. This single duplicates the crap he put out prior to AI that didn’t get him anywhere. He is welcome to stuff socks in his underwear, hump the mike and sound like everybody else, but I would have preferred to listen to his mesmerizing voice instead. I regret having pre-ordered the album. BTW the cover for the single looks exactly like Rihanna’s.

bleh | 10/30/2009, 4:08 pm EST

this is terrible. he was terrible on idol and he’s terrible on his own

Same old adam | 10/30/2009, 4:16 pm EST

Still has to add his opera voice to this tinny messed up diddy. The voice is why Adam didnt win the american idol based on his opera tone. UGG Awful

Roby | 10/30/2009, 4:23 pm EST

True, Adam cannot be boxed in and he certainly has the right to put on his album whatever he likes, the question is, will people buy it. Fact is that most people do not buy something they don’t like. Adam cannot be everything to everybody. If one segment of his fans is happy that only means that the rest is unhappy. Adam should have gone with the largest segment of his fan base and put out an album that caters to those fans. Once firmly established, he could have slowly and carefully branched out. Adam enjoyed a lot of goodwill, but he will learn that fans can be incredibly fickle. Good luck to you, Adam, I hope in the future you will use the only thing that makes you unique among all the other interchangeable singers. Based on your single, I am afraid you don’t know what is is.

basser | 10/30/2009, 4:25 pm EST

yeah Patti, Adam is in the land of Current Songs (read: mostly crappy, beer-commercial-sounding songs.) Yawn …..

Bob | 10/30/2009, 4:28 pm EST

What the fuck is up with the auto-tune?! The guy’s an incredible singer, it’s totally not needed. I don’t think the song is bad by any means, but it’s a shame it’s all so heavily over produced. I think it would have sounded better if it was a little more rocked up.

Jim K | 10/30/2009, 4:41 pm EST

Kill all the critics! You’re either gonna love it or you’re gonna hate it!

SOBRIETYKILLS | 10/30/2009, 4:51 pm EST

Some of you didn’t get the memo. This album is gonna have rock too. It’s a fusion mixed genre album. You’ll get your rock, don’t get your panties in a bunch. what a bunch of cry babies. This is a fun catchy dance song! It’s a great first single. Adam is amazing as always!!

Sammie | 10/30/2009, 4:54 pm EST

Crap!!!!

givinup | 10/30/2009, 4:55 pm EST

I just am stunned at how bad his debut it being f****d up. This is a sad day. I only liked him b/c of his voice – I hate this dance, pop crap. His CD cover is a joke – like he said??? – sorry, not laughing. He is totally losing fans – like me – and faith quickly. The mixed reactions are NOT a good sign. This song SUCKS. I HATE IT!!!!

Nita Chill | 10/30/2009, 4:57 pm EST

Wow. People take this stuff way to seriously. Its just a pop song. Suppose to be fun to listen to. If you like it: cool. If you dont like it, go listen to something you like. Relax. Life is short.

DK | 10/30/2009, 4:58 pm EST

Fantastic!! this song sounds perfect for a True Blood episode…

Blown away | 10/30/2009, 5:01 pm EST

Look at that track list. Justin Hawkins, Muse, Gaga, Cavallo, Dr. Luke. On one album. Profound that one artist can pull off all those genres on one album.
btw “Fever” is the Gaga track, I believe “Aftermath” is another Hawkins, and Claude Kelly wrote “If I Had You.”

Teresa | 10/30/2009, 5:04 pm EST

This is an amazing sexy song that delivers more than I ever imagined.

Mari | 10/30/2009, 5:05 pm EST

I want this album like yesterday!! And the single is amazingggggg

Miss Kay | 10/30/2009, 5:13 pm EST

Love this song and can’t wait for the entire album.

Note: the song credits listed above have some errors and are missing a lot of info. There is a complete list of credits at PlanetFierce.

justin | 10/30/2009, 5:17 pm EST

Sounds like a new age backstreet boys song with a britney spears like production.

That’s not a good thing people. I’m so sick of this GLAM and ROCK crap that keeps getting thrown around this kid.

Brain Glamage | 10/30/2009, 5:32 pm EST

If you were there, you’d remember how cheesy the danceable ditties that made up 70s glam were. Youd remember how mainstream rock fans wouldnt take it seriously and thought it was pop crap. You’d remember how the people that DID like it were having a ton of fun.

Kay | 10/30/2009, 5:47 pm EST

Pretty catchy and definitely grows on you. Will buy it and am looking forward to the album…

justme | 10/30/2009, 5:49 pm EST

I absolutely love it. It is the type of music Adam loves!! I love how he can sing everything from power ballads to pop. He is going to be big!!!

Catchy but | 10/30/2009, 5:52 pm EST

Im looking forward to the song he wrote with Greg Wells and Weezers Rivers Cuomo.

Also the Muse, Gaga which Paul McCartneys bassist played guitar on and Justin Hawkins tracks.

PS. Madonnas bassist Monte Pittman made Adams band.

OOOO | 10/30/2009, 5:54 pm EST

Not a fan anymore! He just can’t dress up as a rock star, & then turnaround & put out this typical pop crap! With the lame album covers, & that flop of a song for that movie…I have too say it’s not looking good for him. He can do better than this, & i fell now he’s not about the music, just the fame part.

JKD | 10/30/2009, 5:55 pm EST

You couldn’t have used a better photo of him? That don’t even look like him lmao.

Landrew | 10/30/2009, 5:57 pm EST

His fanbase is dropping like flies…

Stosh | 10/30/2009, 6:03 pm EST

Jeezus. With that voice he’s gotta inflict even *more* auto-tune damage on the public?

green_eyed_01 | 10/30/2009, 6:09 pm EST

Love this song!! It’s made to be played loud and often, and is 100% pure Adam. No matter what kind of song his first single was, it was bound to disappoint some people who like a different sound. The thing is, that Adam has a hundred different styles, and this is one. His album is going to be epic, and have all the variety that we would expect from this gifted, multi-faceted entertainer.
Can’t wait to hear more! Adam is going to be huge!!!

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 6:11 pm EST

This is horrible. Adam and his fans can all go suck a big dick. Oh wait, nevermind…

David Blowey | 10/30/2009, 6:16 pm EST

He was attracted to the visual side of glam, the glitter, makeup, knee-high gold boots…..he doesn’t know the music. Imagine him listening to a NY Dolls album ? Ha. He wasn’t a fan of rock or even pop music growing up, he was attracted more to Gilbert and Sullivan. He’s a semi-operatic musical theatre singer, his attempts at Bowie on Idol were terrible, a kind of cabaret / camp version of Bowie. Your taste in music and what you listened to growing up is the ultimate key to what kind of music you will make, he has a “good voice” but doesn’t have a clue how to use it for pop music and certainly has no clue whatsoever about rock and roll. They’re trying to fit a round peg in a square hole, it’s not gonna work. His fans are delusional or tone deaf if they like this song, it’s diva based club music…his fans are mostly middle-aged women who were last in a club wearing lycra and doing the white girl bob to Donna Summer in 1977. You could see this coming from 100 miles away, he’s not a rocker, or even a pop singer, he is and will always be a musical theatre singer. Maybe one day he can switch over to Broadway where he’d fit in much better.

Amon also from the Philippines | 10/30/2009, 6:17 pm EST

I just LUV LUV LUV the song. Been streaming it for more than 20 times now. I really hope radio stations in the US will give FYE the spins it so deserves. For sure, I’ll do my part here in Manila and request the song like mad and make it shoot straight to number 1!!! P.S. I’m really happy to have read the comment of Izabel From Manila Philippines. We should join forces you know :) )

MiMi | 10/30/2009, 6:33 pm EST

Love the song! The lyrics make it even better. I can’t wait to see what he does with it when he performs on the AMA show. GO ADAM. WE LOVE YOU!

Lynn | 10/30/2009, 6:34 pm EST

Love it! Can’t wait to hear the rest of the CD.

@David Blowey | 10/30/2009, 7:06 pm EST

LMAAAAAAAAAO WHAT?

Firstly, I’m 22 love.

Secondly. Adam’s been down the road, he’s worked his butt off AND he can sing pretty much anything.

He used to front an alt-rock band, a metal band, an acidic rock and psychedelic band, and a classic rock band. So get your facts straight.

Lastly, this is from Adam’s old blog and myspace.

Music:
Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Freddie Mercury, Goldfrapp, Muse, Wolfmother, Chic.E, Queens of the Stone Age, David Bowie, Beck, I Am X, The Colour, Dirty Mercy, Marilyn, The Doors, Mason, Bob Marley, Madonna, Kings of Leon, Junior Boys, Ratatat, Gnarls Barkley, Drugs, T.Rex, Jaimie Lidell, Dag, The Ark, The Elton John, The Who, The White Stripes, Eagles of Death Metal, Keane, Janis Joplin, Radiohead, Automatica, Angie Stone, India.Arie, Hendrix, Bonnie Raitt, Kasabian, Donny Hathaway, Micheal Jackson, Peaches, LaBelle, Thievery Corporation, Jeff Buckley, Chris Cornell, Ivy, Scarlett, NEW YORK DOLLS, Mz A Superstar, Alisan Porter, Mother’s Finest, Sly Stone, Nikka Costa, Aerosmith, Chili Peppers, Chic, Funkadelic, The Raconteurs, Dave Navarro, The Wiz….and the list goes on.

Someone’s a little bored today lmfao.

Can’t wait for his mental live performances and the rest of his album. Especially now that I know he’s written w Wells and Cuomo, Cavallo, worked with Macca’s bassist and that Madonna’s bassist Monte is in his band.

I know Tim Burton was interested in working w him as well. I love seeing people who’ve actually WORKED for it and paid their dues for years, FINALLY get a f-n break.

orange | 10/30/2009, 7:13 pm EST

Wow those lyrics really HOT,now I can picture it in my head.

ahem. | 10/30/2009, 7:36 pm EST

Lol, I see the trolls and prudes are out.

I love classic rock, I like heavy metal, I listen to Bluegrass…but I dig this too.

It’s too early for people to begin tripping and claiming Adam isn’t rock or wtv lol. He said he wants to make it in pop even though his heart lies in rock and he listens to everything.

You haven’t heard the entire album. The album is eclectic.

I love the people he’s worked with.

sityoassdown | 10/30/2009, 7:43 pm EST

This is hot! This is current. This is what sells! Smart move Adam. Now, let’s see what else ya got.
Entertain me some mo!

Sally | 10/30/2009, 7:51 pm EST

So this is the new Freddie Mercury or Elvis? Give me a break. Typical pop autotune crap.

-_- | 10/30/2009, 7:51 pm EST

I LOVE IT. I think it’s pretty awesome. Oh, and guess what? The haters *are* haters. I’m not going to use another term to describe them. When people are saying things like “Adam fans suck dick” guess what that makes them? Immature haters.

I think comments on this site should be moderated to filter out the whiny 15 year olds who most likely listen to slipknot and spread their homophobic hatred around the web.

Joshua | 10/30/2009, 8:09 pm EST

Wow. I’m not much of a fan but I’ve heard him do some great stuff.

This is REALLY terrible! I guess he decided to grab Brittany’s producing team, huh?

IT'S A COPY | 10/30/2009, 8:12 pm EST

IT’S A COPY CAT OF SAM SPARRO BLACK AND GOLD.

Holly | 10/30/2009, 8:18 pm EST

Who the hell is hearing autotune on this? On the bridge his voice is effing beautiful. No one else in pop music sounds like that.

I love that most of the hate comments here are based on the fact that it’s not ‘rock’. I bet they’re the same people who said the very rock-y Time For Miracles isn’t ‘edgy’ enough. You just can’t please some people.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 8:35 pm EST

David Blowey said it perfectly. He totally nailed it.

Yollie | 10/30/2009, 8:37 pm EST

Not impressed at all for all the hype that the media and Rolling Stone gave him his songs are way to cheesy. It’s like that song “Tardy 4 the Party”.

Sandy | 10/30/2009, 8:44 pm EST

I have to say I love this song and I also love TFM. I can’t wait to hear the rest of his album. I have loved every song I have ever heard Adam sing, and I hope he keeps on making records. I know I will buy every song he sings.

EUGENE | 10/30/2009, 8:52 pm EST

A GREAT SONG WITH A GREAT BEAT…TO THE FEW HATERS THAT TROLL THE ADAM FAN SITES,GO BACK UNDER THE BRIDGE WHERE YOU BELONG!!!!!!!!YOU WERE NEVER ADAM LAMBERT FANS,SO GO JOIN A KRISTARD WEB SITE OR WAIT FOR GOKEY COUNTRY CD………AND WHILE YOU ARE WAITING ADAM WILL BE GETTING A OSCAR FOR BEST SONG OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!AND YOU POOR FOOLS CANNOT STOP OUR BOY WONDER,TEXTS AND GO WON’T WORK THIS TIME!!!!!!!!

osarle | 10/30/2009, 8:55 pm EST

I suppose they just had to release the type of song which is completely different from TFM (go to his official site and listen to both). He knows what he is doing. A kind of a strategy, I think. When I listened to it for the first time, I thought this is not for me. But, now I can’t stop listening. His singing has overwhelming power.

OH_WELL_GUESS_I'LL_MOVE_ON | 10/30/2009, 8:59 pm EST

What a travesty. To take that beautiful voice and destroy it with synthesizers. Guess he only wants to appeal to 9 to 25 year olds. This isn’t singing. The only positive thing for him (not for me!), is that he’s the only guy dumb enough to want to sound like B Spears. Oh well. I enjoyed him while he was a singer.

NY | 10/30/2009, 9:00 pm EST

David Blowey,

What makes you an expert on Adam Lambert? Credentials, please. So you’re going to dismiss the likes of Brian May,Slash,Smokey Robinson,Opera critics, everyone who came on board to help Adam with his album, vocal experts etc. This is one song in a compilation of many. You may have it partially right when you said he’s…let me see,.. a “round peg in a square hole”(although I believe the saying is.. square peg in a round hole..could justify your thinking).Adam always said he wanted to offer different genres of music on his album therefore he wasn’t interested in ‘playing it safe’,or being,um,”pegged” into one specific music brand. Fortunately for him,and his adoring public, his theater background (he has never appeared on Broadway,FYI)has prepared him to be a triple music threat..skilled singer, songwriter and actor. If I’m not mistaken he has also helped with backstage collaborations (set design, makeup) Not too talented,is he!!*sarcasm*

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion (although it’s more like a rant)but you are a little out-of-touch(and possibly deaf, too)to admit that he doesn’t have a clue on how to use his voice. I envision him skipping all the way to the bank!!

BTW,I was one of those middle aged lycra wearing women dancing to Donna Summer and it was one of the most exciting times of my life!!I also loved Led Zeppelin. See,it’s possible to appreciate more than one style of music. Try it!!

KAY SIMPSO | 10/30/2009, 9:08 pm EST

REALLY DISAPPOINTED, I THINK ADAM LAMBERT HAS ONE OF THE BEST EVER VOICES BUT THIS RECORD IS WEAK AND FORGETABLE. ITS ONE THING SINGING CLASSIC GREAT RECORDS SUCH AS LED ZEPS ETC BUT TO CHOOSE OR PICK RECORDS WHICH ARE UNKNOWN AND MAKE THEM SUCESSFUL OBVIOUSLY TAKES MORE THAN JUST A GREAT VOICE. THIS RECORD DOES NOT EVEN COMPETE WITH THE GREAT OR EVEN JUST MODERATLEY GOOD ELECTRO, THERE IS NOTHING REMOTELY MEMORABLE ABOUT THIS RECORD AND ALTHOUGH PEOPLE SAY WAIT TO HEAR WHAT THE OTHERS ARE LIKE , SURELY AN ARTIST WOULD RELEASE THE BEST RECORD FIRST TO GRAB YOUR ATTENTION. I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ALBUM AND EVEN PRE ORDERED BUT NOW FEEL VERY DISPPOINTED, AND AS FOR TIME FOR MIRACLES THAT AGAIN IS A VERY WEAK SONG EVEN AGAINST THE TRAILER FOR THE FILM IT JARS WITH THE DRAMATIC ACTION OF THE FILM AGAINST THE WEAK LYRICS/MUSIC. HE MAY HAVE A FAB VOICE BUT UNFORTUNATELY THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ENOUGH.

Beat Down | 10/30/2009, 9:09 pm EST

Eugene, did you get beat up alot in high school ???

Louie V | 10/30/2009, 9:10 pm EST

A grown man who wants to sound like Britney Spears………now THAT’S gay !!!

ianaleah | 10/30/2009, 9:14 pm EST

It’s current, getsya dancin’-perfect first choice, esp at start of holiday party times. The review of the tracks (she heard them) by Parker at Reality Rocks Yahoo Music blog- praise praise praise absolutely magnificant. Somethiing for everyone and all great.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 9:35 pm EST

Sorry OH WELL,

I’m almost 50 and I LOVE the song. If you’re a true Adam fan,you take the good with the bad (although nothing he has done thus far has been bad,IMO).He’ll be singing all the way to the bank my friend!!

kendra | 10/30/2009, 9:40 pm EST

What happened to the Rock Star???My god I’ll take Time for Miracles over this anyday. What a travesty indeed. He has such a great voice, why on earth would he not want to showcase it? This is so below his talent level. Ugh Adam no!!! I love you but No!! This is bubble gum crap.

Brit | 10/30/2009, 9:45 pm EST

Hey listen up people what is so wrong to sing a catchy song like Britney, I LOVE her songs and she’s a billionaire!!! Adam is delivering music for all generations and he’s laughing all the way to the bank while the haters are wasting their time complaining! It’s a perfect song for Halloween!!!! Sexy lyrics by the one and only ADAM!!!!

@EUGENE | 10/30/2009, 9:49 pm EST

EXACTLY!!!!! LET THEM HATE ALL THEY WANT CAUSE ADAM IS HERE TO STAY FOR MANY YEARS!! NOTHING IN THIS WORLD WILL MAKE HIM LESS POPULAR. THESE IDIOTS ARE A F*CKING WASTE OF TIME!!! ADAM RULES THE MUSIC WORLD, YEAH BABE!!

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 10:00 pm EST

My favorite part of the new album cover, is that it uses the exact same background as the Blake Lewis album. It’s like they didn’t even try.

Elaine Glambert | 10/30/2009, 10:16 pm EST

Love it!!! Makes you want to get up and dance and have a good time. Don’t we all want that? Adam gave it to us and bb we are shakin our A$$. Can’t wait for the album.

really | 10/30/2009, 10:20 pm EST

DAvid Blowey doesnt know what he’s talking about. No clue what Adam listened to growing up. Apparently no clue what defined Glam Rock.

Bloody Mary | 10/30/2009, 10:24 pm EST

It’s kinda sad that I gotta look forward to the music video to make me like the song more and fall in love with the Adam I fell in love with on the show. This is karoke B.S. ~ It’s not his fault, somebody else was pulling the strings.

Corey | 10/30/2009, 10:27 pm EST

LOVE it! Its really different so some people are not gonna like it but I think its great! PLus the rest of the album might have more rock (hope so)

LambSkank | 10/30/2009, 10:29 pm EST

I don’t like it. The lyrics are kidish – “I am here for your entertainment” sounds cheesy. All the words rhyme so well and are so in synce it sounds like something Backstreet Boys would sing. What happened to a more sexed up song or even rock- not this “crafted” Jonas Brothers type song? This sucks. I am really disappointed. I guess if it’s seems to good to be true, it usually is. My dream of Adam will die where it began.

Jason | 10/30/2009, 10:31 pm EST

Are you folks on crack? Adam needs a commercial single to get radio play. Who are the top sellers today? GaGa and and Miley Cyrus – He is a good business man and Pop sells. This song is edgy, lyrics are sexy, and Adam’s voice sounds great. This is a fantastic Pop song and I look forward to hearing what Adam does with other genres. Adam will surprise us!!

SBA | 10/30/2009, 10:33 pm EST

Cheesy , forgettable , nothing new , something that you would expect from Britney.

Jason | 10/30/2009, 10:40 pm EST

Roby – Adam’s pre-sales are hitting #1 and #2 on Amazon. Only thing out selling him is MJ’s This is IT. I don’t think selling is going to be a problem for Adam.

Mia | 10/30/2009, 10:41 pm EST

His whole album needs to come with footnotes.

Adriana | 10/30/2009, 10:46 pm EST

I absolutely love Adam, but I really don’t like it. It’s just like every other one on the radio right now. Yes, I know his album is going to be a mix of genres. However, THIS song was chosen as his first single. Why? Not because it’s original or edgy or glam (it’s not), but because it’s exactly what sells in music today. Maybe the album will have more creative rock-pop-electro-disco-whateve r songs. But this is still the one they chose. I love it that he’s going for it with his looks and attitude. But with his music? Talk about playing it SAFE. (And I sure wasn’t expecting to ever use “safe” referring to Adam).

rhys | 10/30/2009, 10:55 pm EST

Poor detractors. So bitter. Envious? Threatened? Just support your favorites and don’t post here if you’ve got nothing substantial to say. Tsk tsk…

The Real Jillson | 10/30/2009, 11:20 pm EST

Cassidy, you are so right. Actually there are two major haters that chase and attack Adam on all the message boards.

But, I don’t think they are both on here right now. Just the one. And she tends to flip out very easily. Usually she calls us “ole hags” LOL, right K~T?

But, she lacks the education and articulation to state any of her pathetic points clearly.

She has caused permanent damage to the career of the performer she supports, however.

bebe | 10/30/2009, 11:40 pm EST

Love it! He’s such a versatile performer. Can’t wait to hear the other tracks.

Love the lyrics-super sexy!!!!!!!

LisaB | 10/30/2009, 11:52 pm EST

OMG love the lyrics!!!

CG Rocker | 10/31/2009, 12:38 am EST

Wtf was that he calls himself a rocker but that sounded like something Katie Perry barfed on. I hope the other stuff is better

racbec | 10/31/2009, 1:11 am EST

I love it and can’t wait to hear the rest of his album.

JJ | 10/31/2009, 1:18 am EST

Well I’m 17 and I can def see myself partying to this song. Really pleasantly surprised. can’t wait to hear more from this guy :)

Adam Fan | 10/31/2009, 1:27 am EST

I’m an Adam fan and still am. But this song is EPIC FAIL.

1. It’s not glam rock

2. It’s not unique.

You come out of the gates as a new artist, you must deliver YOUR music, not music that sounds like someone else. It sounds like Sparro. Who CARES he worked with Sparro. You dont work with someone to produce music that sounds like their stuff. You develop your OWN sound.

3. The production value is so pathetic. It sounds like something Britney would pass on.

4. This is pop.

It’s not rock. It’s not electronic. It’s commerical pop. Music fans aren’t stupid. You can do a shock cover to get yourself a lot of free press. But to tell the public (that knows its music) that its rock when its pop, thats just setting up for failure.

Bottom line – its a good, unoriginal, pop song.

JMAZ | 10/31/2009, 1:46 am EST

To the haters here: If you don’t like the freaking song don’t listen to it and stop wasting your stupid time coming here to talk juvenile crap about Adam. You are just a bunch of jealous hypocrites!! Not sure why you bothered listening to it in the first place!! Geez what has this world turned into????

ANon | 10/31/2009, 1:50 am EST

I have made a bet that Adam will be winning a GRAMMY next year! He is insanely talented and I swear I have never seen so much publicity about any other artist since MJ!!! Some people are just plain rude here but what else can you expect from kids these days??

Joy | 10/31/2009, 2:01 am EST

The reason I liked Danny was because he was always himself and you knew what type of songs he was going to do, soulful Country. He was always true to himself. Many of Adam’s fans didn’t even know what type of songs Adam was going to do after the show. They projected a lot of their own style of music on him. Now they are wondering about the rest of his music on his cd.

ANon | 10/31/2009, 2:01 am EST

To the 1-2 trolls here who are using pretentious names please try to enjoy life more!!! Really no point coming here to bash Adam because it WILL NOT drive his fans away. You are just making him more popular day by day! Now be a good boy and STFU!!!!

We know who was the ROCKER | 10/31/2009, 2:29 am EST

Apparently Rolling Stone put the wrong contestant on their cover. The real Rocker on the show should have been on the cover not the next Britney. That Rocker was Allison. Adam is just a fraud.

JA | 10/31/2009, 2:31 am EST

I love this song! But I kinda love TFM more though. Can’t wait for his album!

David Blowey | 10/31/2009, 2:34 am EST

My credentials ?? Lol. Er, having good ears ;) Read that list of his influences and then listen to the 2012 track and this new track…find one shred of influence any of those acts have on these songs. His stuff is out now, it’s no longer, “He’s the best rocker to arrive on the scene in 30 years”. We have aural evidence now, it’s no longer conjecture. And what we have here my friends is back to back complete cannon ball belly flops.. Huge trying to do a back-flip off the diving board and landing on your back with an echoing “SLAAAAAP” cannon balls. The 2102 track was painfullyyyy bad, like a lost Power Ballad from an 80’s hair band. This new track has NOTHING to do with glam, glam was big crunching guitars, Mick Ronson for David Bowie, the great Johnny Thunders for the Dolls. This single is vacant club music, soundtrack music for snorting coke in a sleazy club. It’s Adam as female diva. So it’s not fantasy, “His CD is gonna be great !” stuff anymore…the music is here…and it is AWFUL. That influences list from Myspace, pffftt…he cobbled together some names he knew would make him appear “hip”, there’s not a chance in the world he listens to Jimi or Funkadellic !!!!
And defending him by saying he’ll sell a gazillion albums, which i’m sure he will with his first CD doesn’t equal quality…the history of popular music is riddled with the corpses of horrible music that the public ate up…..Celine Dion, NKOTB, Taco, Paul Anka, Clay Aiken, Barry Manilow, Liberace…..and on and on for eternity. And I started to type “Square peg in a round hole” but knew instinctively that would provoke 22 “The last thing you could call him is a SQUARE PEG !” responses ;)

adammadworld | 10/31/2009, 2:37 am EST

Seen Sam Sparro’s Black and Gold and other youtube videos… almost fell asleep. For your entertainment is different. Adam’s voice and powerful delivery makes any song his song!
Congratulations, Adam! We love your rock love ballads, disco glams, and whatever u’re giving us. It’s pure entertainment!

David Blowey | 10/31/2009, 2:43 am EST

And there’s always good music out there…sometimes you just have to dig for it a little…don’t trust your TV to tell you what to listen to, go to live shows, read trusted critics like Robert Christgau, he’s been finding gret music for 40 years.
I’ll go to sleep with the idea that Adam has The Stones on his myspace list…and the image of him trying to bum-rush the stage to sing with them….and Keef Braining him with his guitar like he did to that unfortunate rube on the Tattoo You tour…..i’ll have pleasant dreams :)

Jane | 10/31/2009, 3:07 am EST

Adam likely did this song because it is freak’n fun!! Unlike some of you, he isn’t afraid of any genre and will do all of them with an edgy flair. The song is as much about him as an artist as it is sexy. “Do you know what you got into, can you handle what I’m about to do – betcha thought ai was soft and sweet but I am about to turn up the heat!!!” Push the limit – This is Adam!! I totally love it and can’t wait for the album!

David Blowey | 10/31/2009, 3:11 am EST

And “NY”, I do appreciate all kinds of music, I have 3,000 CD’s and god knows, 12,000 albums on vinyl. What ya wanna discuss ? Delta blues ? Piedmont Blues ? The Carter Family ? Western Swing ? Louis Jordan’s influence on Chuck Berry lyrically and musically ? If Eddie Cochran’s “Something Else” was the first seed of punk ? Be-bop ? Who benefited more from the Bowie / Iggy colaboration ? Why Artie Shaw put down his horn at 32 and never picked it up again ? If Howlin’ Wolf or Muddy got the best songs from Willie Dixon ? Was Muddy really painting the Chess Studios wall like Keith remembers when the Stones visited Chess on their first US tour ? Is George Jones the greatest white singer ever ? Which was the biggest loss..Jimi or Otis ? Is Waterloo Sunset the most beautiful song in the english language ? Is the new Robert Johnson photo authentic ? Is it Ever a good idea for people to find their music from a Karaoke TV Contest ???????

Circe | 10/31/2009, 3:15 am EST

You really can’t judge an entire album by one song.

Stephen | 10/31/2009, 3:22 am EST

thumbs down

terie | 10/31/2009, 3:31 am EST

Anyone notice that most of the negative comments are submitted by ANONYMOUS? Guess they are too ASHAMED to give their REAL name … or could they all be one and the same? ADAM ROCKS!!!

Doug F. | 10/31/2009, 3:40 am EST

I was talking to my friend Jackie the other day and we were trying to figure out this Adam mania, I told her it seems his fans are mostly SUV soccer moms….she told me her boyfriends mom and his grandmother loved him and were glued to the TV for every second of AI……we almost fell down laughing !

Doug F. | 10/31/2009, 3:44 am EST

The first single to be released from an album is almost always the best “Circe”…which is a very very bad sign for this guy…

Horses Mouth | 10/31/2009, 4:35 am EST

Adam describes FYE as his “Britney song” and calls “Time for Miracles” his “Christina Song.”
Um hmmm….guess those “New Bowie”, or Rocker, or Elvis for the 21’st Century labels are gone………. forever.

Janika | 10/31/2009, 4:36 am EST

Brilliant song. Makes you want to MOVE. As for other songs, can’t wait the song with Darkness. Or muse. Some rock, too. Hawt.

Lila | 10/31/2009, 4:39 am EST

Fantastic song. FUN and sexy. Catchy.

Lila | 10/31/2009, 4:43 am EST

Just went to see Amazon. Adam Lambert has been in top sellers list over one month before his first single, amazing. Now in top 2

Anneika | 10/31/2009, 5:14 am EST

@Doug F and your friend Jackie,
It’s the same at home from an 8 year old to the 86 year old of 5 generations. We’re just blessed with sound judgment because Adam is like no other. He is a STAR.

Uppity downer | 10/31/2009, 5:33 am EST

No more Pop Junk. noooooooooooo!

Poly | 10/31/2009, 5:42 am EST

I have to say I’m disappointed in the first single. But then again, I think I was expecting too much from him. It seems like a copycat song from all the people he’s “inspired” by. His appeal is quickly fading. Hopefully the rest of the album will have more substance.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion! :)

Kriszti | 10/31/2009, 6:01 am EST

He makes Clay Aiken look like a hairy chested, testosterone fueled musical genius by comparison !

Terry Sebastian | 10/31/2009, 7:25 am EST

It sounds like Black and Gold by Sam Sparro, the only difference is that Sam Sparro’s voice is more clear on his song.

I like Sam Sparro better. When he sings it is very clear and you can hear Sparro’s voice.

disappinted glambert | 10/31/2009, 7:26 am EST

i have listened to this a few times and cannot believe it is actually adam singing, the vocals do not sound like his, they remind me of some cheesy euro pop singer, quite catchy tune for radio play but nothing meomrableit doesnt showcase his fabulous vocals, it seems a travesty to waste such a voice on such mediocricy

NY | 10/31/2009, 8:10 am EST

David Blowey,

You’re an angry person. You appear to know your stuff, but I can’t help but envision you sitting at your computer squirming with anxiety because you just don’t care for Adam Lambert and you can’t understand why some people don’t share your sentiments.

You are still entitled to your opinion, nothing has changed, but I won’t/can’t take your RANT too serously. You see, other people really like Adam BECAUSE he IS different, and what YOU hear in his vocals with your’credential’worthy ears and what I hear are obviously….well we differ, and that’s OK! You’re going to have a heart attack if you keep up the “ooh, how dare someone challenge me,I know more about music, and I’m righter than everyone” hissy-fit responses!

BYW,nice attempt to get out of the ’square peg…’comment. Why don’t you just admit you got you ‘mords wixed’ and call it a day! See you’re not perfect afterall, and that’s OK. Adam is not perfect. He has never claimed to be nor has he ever said his music was for everyone. All HE wants to do is make music, have fun and entertain. I believe he mentioned in a post IDOL interview with Michael Slezak that he realizes HIS style is not for everyone and if you don’t like his music,’buy the other guys’ album. So simple,so logical!!

He’s right!

You should listen to him!

There’s all kinds of music out there you could verbally beat to a pulp…er…critique.

Anonymous | 10/31/2009, 8:44 am EST

A great album is one you can listen to from start to finish, without skipping tracks.

Even if the rest of his album is amazing (which I now have extreme doubts), it’s already ruined by the inclusion of this horrid, horrid song.

Kevin | 10/31/2009, 8:57 am EST

Glam Rock?
Sorry, but FYE is not Glam Rock.
Is is Glam-SCHLOCK.

Tisha | 10/31/2009, 9:48 am EST

Firstly, this is is HOT! but I can’t wait to hear “MUSIC AGAIN” written by Justin Hawkins cause those who heard it descrited it as the best song in the Universe.

Has a Question | 10/31/2009, 10:14 am EST

Why is Kara DioGuardi, one of the Idol judges, writing songs for Adam Lambert?

Is that why Adam Lambert is being pushed really hard on the general public? Sounds like dirty dealings to me.

J.J. | 10/31/2009, 10:48 am EST

Ok, I just listened to it and I think I might cry. And NOT in a good way. I am so disappointed…this sounds just like a Britney song until the end when it actually starts to sound like him. Sure the beat is fun…but his voice throughout most of the song is kind of…annoying…

anonymouszombie | 10/31/2009, 11:31 am EST

I listened to it twice and didn’t like it. Where’s the hook? Where’s his voice? I will hold out the hope for the rest of album, especially GaGa’s track- say what you like about her, the girl knows how to make a song catchy.

sam | 10/31/2009, 12:19 pm EST

love it, Love it, LOVE IT. Fabulous dance song. will be a huge hit and already getting airplay without being released for adds yet.
Congratulations Adam!

Truth be told | 10/31/2009, 12:31 pm EST

It will be a big hit like songs done by Britney and GaGa, but at the expense of Lambert’s credibility.

Sammy | 10/31/2009, 12:32 pm EST

I love this song !! I don’t think older people get it ! It will sound great in da clubs. i love Britney and Christina and Beyonce, this sounds great mixed in with them !

Adam Phan From Philly | 10/31/2009, 12:38 pm EST

WHEW!!! He’s the first artist I know to release an S&M track to a mainstream audience. I loved Time for Miracles (love rock ballads), but this one really grows on you, and the lyrics are HOTTT beyond belief. Now I can’t stop listening to it. I predict: Big hit in dance clubs and much radio airplay. It is a little Brittney (Just Like a Circus), but I like her too. I can’t wait to see the video and the live performance. Watch his Zodiac Show video of Fire on YouTube to see what he is capable of doing live. Now THAT’S HOT!!!

Wert | 10/31/2009, 12:43 pm EST

The King is Dead ! Long live the next overhyped TV karoake singer !!

Frankie | 10/31/2009, 1:04 pm EST

She’s writing songs for him “Has a question” because the later portion of Idol is a publicity showcase for the show, record companies, and advertizers…The early audition portion of the show is entertaining. Once they have their few finalists, the idea is to push the acts on the public. Most of America hasn’t seemed to figure this out yet…and like lemmings go out and buy music from hacks that would have never had a record deal without the whole Idol Franchise.

Lenka | 10/31/2009, 1:10 pm EST

The lyrics are hot and suggestive until you realize the obect of his sexual seduction is most likely a hairy longshoreman or Hollywood Boulevard street kid….and then you wanna projectile vomit….

Adam Phan From Philly | 10/31/2009, 1:22 pm EST

To Frankie,
Exactly how do you think that Frank Sinatra was discovered? Try a radio show called the Major Bowes Amatuer Hour. He sang on that with many other unknowns (including future opera singer Beverly Sills, another unknown)and was discovered.
Many folks try out for AI. Few are chosen, and even fewer get a recording contract and have a career. Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson (not all winners) show that an amateur show can be a way for real talent to be discovered, as did Frank Sinatra and Beverly Sills back in the day.

ummm | 10/31/2009, 1:23 pm EST

How is it a copy of Sam Sparro’s B&G? They WORKED together lmao.

And lmaaaaaao NO ONE is the next Elvis or Freddie!

Anonymous | 10/31/2009, 2:57 pm EST

I was expecting Adam’s album to sound something like R.E.M.’s ‘Crush With Eyeliner’. (Look it up if you don’t know it.)

Boy was I mistaken.

Holly | 10/31/2009, 5:00 pm EST

Seriously, for those of you who are complaining about the song’s synth-pop-cheesiness – when’s the last time you listened to Queen’s ‘I Want to Break Free’?

REALLY??? | 10/31/2009, 6:09 pm EST

WOW, hey Adam fans: you all need too get over your self’s. You really think that 1 or 2 people are the ones making all these hater comments?. How about, that people just don’t like the fucking song-RETARDS!!!!!

SayWhat? | 10/31/2009, 6:33 pm EST

To the Conspiracy Theorists:

I believe Adam Lambert was close to signing a record deal before Idol, and if you’ve ever LISTENED to him you would know that HIS reason for auditioning on Idol was to get more exposure in order to get his name out there. How HORRIBLE and PLOTTING is HE!? (sarc.) Sure, Idol gave him great exposure but he has worked very hard in the entertainment industry to get where he is! Nothing sordid or pushy here! He was going to be successful in his own right anyway,it just would have taken longer. He is an extremely grateful and mega-talented man who doesn’t deserve all the negative remarks cast by all the so-called Idol theorists and self-proclaimed music connoisseurs who wouldn’t recognize talent if it…um…you know the rest!

Go find another theory to work on (I’ve got one: WHY didn’t Adam win Idol?..no offence Kris,I really like you) and leave him alone!!

Gary Glitter's Chest Wig | 10/31/2009, 7:03 pm EST

I finally realized today that Adam IS bringing glam back ! The science fiction of Bowie ? No. Mark Bolan’s guitar glam ? No. The glam star Adam most resembles is..
………………. ….. …
………Gary Glitter !!! Seriously ! The shirt open to reveal the yeti-like chest hair, gold chains, ultra over the top cheesiness. The New Gary Glitter !!
Yessssssssssssssssss !!

Anonymous | 10/31/2009, 7:27 pm EST

Adam Lambert is the Scissor Sisters/Mika… minus the talent.

B. | 10/31/2009, 8:11 pm EST

@terie,

Re: Anonymous posts

I noticed that there were a lot of negative Anonymous posts too,but I also noticed some positive.I thought maybe:

a) two (or more) people posting as Anonymous–nice and not-so-nice;
b) A person posting as Anonymous with dual personalities trying to ’stir’ things up a little.

However, the mystery was solved when I sent a post and forgot to put my name in the designated box. After I submitted my post,I read it again and realized that the Name box assumed ‘Anonymous’. I’m assuming that these Anonymous posters are cool with being anonymous!

Hope that clears it up for you!

Cindy | 10/31/2009, 9:10 pm EST

His single TFM, moved me with his emotion and his awesome voice. Although, the lyric is a little corny, and sounds little retro, I love that song and can’t seem to get tired of it. However, this single FYE, is just so so for me, Nothing special. In fact, it sounds like everything else out there. I can’t believe Adam actually can sound like everyone else. I hope the rest of his album has more substance. Sorry to be critical, it’s just my opinion.

Anonymous | 10/31/2009, 9:58 pm EST

Why would anyone expect actual SUBSTANCE from an American Idol contestant?

Even though I consider myself a fan of real music, I admit I watch the show on a regular basis, as a guilty pleasure. It kind of goes against my principles, but it’s okay.

But I know that NONE of these contestants are ever going to make a Sgt. Pepper, Pet Sounds, Dark Side Of The Moon, Exile On Main Street, A Night At The Opera, Rumors, Nevermind, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Joshua Tree, Tommy, etc.

It’s just not happening. Don’t expect these American Idol contestants to make substantial music. Not even from Adam Lambert.

jina | 10/31/2009, 10:25 pm EST

BORING

marlock276 | 10/31/2009, 10:42 pm EST

If you don’t like the song or Adam, why are you even here? If I don’t like something, I just move on to something I like. Why spread so much hate? Don’t you think the world has enough of that?

FU2 | 11/1/2009, 12:17 am EST

He is supposed to win a Grammy for this crap?
If he does it will be a tragedy. It is terrible and worse than Britney Spears.

Kailey | 11/1/2009, 1:25 am EST

I love this song ! I loved Adam on Idol but he sang mostly classic rock songs that my mom plays when she drives…..I like this new stuff much better ! It’s like Gaga and Britney, I love it ! He’s making music for the young crowd now.

Morlockey | 11/1/2009, 1:29 am EST

This isn’t a fan site “marlock276″
It’s an open forum where people give their opinions. And whay do you care if some people find his music vacant ? What do you care ? Do you know Adam ? Is he a relative ? You take it personally ? Lol. Grow up.

Adam Rules | 11/1/2009, 1:46 am EST

All you silly detractors, you judge him and his whole album on one song only, just proves no one should listen to the crap that falls from your mouths, you can’t wait it diss Adam and it shows, his whole album is going to be a mix of POP,ROCK, BALLADS, the first song is great, wait til you hear the rest for an infomed opinion, geez, this world is just full of idiots. ADAM OCKS!!

Wertlock | 11/1/2009, 1:53 am EST

You forgot the “C” down there at the end “Adam Rules” ;)

Morlocky | 11/1/2009, 1:58 am EST

Same for you “Adam Rules”…what do you care if some people find the songs disapointing ? Why take it as a personal attack ? It’s called The Cult of Personality, you live your life through a vapid celeb….not one of the more negative reviews of his songs attacks another poster. I couldn’t care less if people found music I liked bad, what do I care ??? Again, you don’t KNOW this guy…I assume he’s not in your family. You need to develop a life for yourself outside of celeb worship, man.

Clive | 11/1/2009, 2:11 am EST

It’s a shame they autotuned the heck out of Lambert’s voice. You could replace the vocals with Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera and you wouldn’t know the difference. Why would you give a guy with an amazing vocal range a pathetic track that seems like a leftover of a Britney Spears album? Also, I listened to the song the first time and I could’ve sworn I heard the track before. Now that I think about it, it sounds an awful lot like Sam Sparro’s “Black and Gold” meets Christina Aguilera’s “Keeps Getting Better”. Not quite the innovative Lambert that the media hyped up.

Jeanine | 11/1/2009, 2:18 am EST

After all the hoopla about America getting it wrong when Lambert lost to Kris Allen, I gotta say (even though I don’t usually agree with anything American Idol spews from their ranks), perhaps America did get it right after all. Sadly Adam’s fans seem to have painted him into a corner to a point where anything less than majestic is deemed a complete failure. Adam’s fans will be the bane of his career.

Anonymous | 11/1/2009, 4:04 am EST

I’m sorry, I love Adam, but more I listen to this song, the less I like it. He sounds like all other pop singers whom I don’t know and I don’t care. Why is he trying against his natural calling? He’s the best rocker I have ever seen in my life. Better than Hutchence, Plant, Mercury, He has this unique sound that nobody has ever had. And he’s throwing it away on this blah song. Please tell me that there’s something more worthy on his album. I do really like TFM, Adam sounds most fantastic on that tune, it’s just the song is little too old fashion. New age rock song and Adam’s killer voice… WOW!!! PLEASE!!!

Sophie | 11/1/2009, 4:26 am EST

Oh, I love TFM, just as it is and Adam sounds and looks beautiful. But this song “For Your Entertainment” doesn’t do much for me. Is it really Adam singing? It could be anyone except towards the end, I hear glimpse of Adam. More rock please Adam, the difference is huge for me between TMF and FYE.

lol @ jeanine | 11/1/2009, 8:02 am EST

ARE YOU THE VOICE OF AMERICA TO STATE THAT POINT OF VIEW?

Your hero who was the greatest new performer to come along in 35 years just dropped 2 horrific bombs on you…..And you still delude yourselves into thinking the songs are fantastic. He could record himself yodeling backed by a band of chimps playing kazoos and you’d find it brilliant. Or more likely you just have such bad taste in music you really do like these 2 songs. Sad.

Yawn | 11/1/2009, 1:07 pm EST

‘Yawn’ is all I can say.

QZAX | 11/1/2009, 2:31 pm EST

God, i’d LOVE to see a pic of “Eugene”….dude you gotta send us a link to your myspace page, seriously !

Traci | 11/1/2009, 3:04 pm EST

To: REALLY??? It always cracks me up when people diss someone and, in so doing, come off looking ridiculous. First off, using the “R” word is completely offensive and makes you look completely uneducated and, therefore, not worthy of consideration in terms of your opinion. Secondly, the word is “yourselves,” not “your self’s.” If I were going to try to rock a fan boat, I’d at least do spell-check so I didn’t come off looking foolish.

Anyway, what did people expect Adam to do for his first single? He has the voice, there’s no question about that. The main criticisms have been that he allegedly “screeches” (IMO – sings amazingly high notes) and sang “outdated” songs on Idol. Now, he’s put out a song that’s Top 40-friendly and in which he keeps his soaring vocals in check. I think those who are complaining now are just complainers without purpose. I mean, give me a break, who would waste part of a party holiday weekend to read about someone they don’t even like? Sad!

gerritv | 11/1/2009, 3:22 pm EST

Sounds like typical Pop schlock that Britney Spears or a dozen other Pop Princesses could have recorded.

A bit disappointing as it does nothing to advance Adam’s artistic career.

Will probably sell well for all the wrong reasons. Was hoping for better from Adam.

DISAPPOINTED | 11/1/2009, 3:51 pm EST

althought the record is catchy and will probably do well in the charts, it just seems hugely disappointing that someone who has the range of adam chooses to sing records that any boy band wannabe could, with the help of auto tune. its like using a rolls royce or bentley as a taxi cab, although it would be a great ride it’s such a waste.

moat | 11/1/2009, 4:38 pm EST

Can all the people trashing Adam at least do so without coming off like elitist douches? I don’t listen to Adam and actually know very little about him, but I seem to notice that bulk of the criticism seems to center around the fact that he was on American Idol. My question is: WHO CARES? Why should how he got discovered even matter? Shouldn’t people be focusing on his TALENT and his MUSIC at the end of the day? I haven’t watched American Idol in ages because I don’t think they’re particularly interested in finding the most talented people, but hey there’s an exception to every rule, right? If you don’t like Adam because you genuinely don’t like his music, that’s perfectly fine, but turning up your nose because he was a contestant on a reality show is stupid. Not EVERYTHING that is mainstream is evil. Stop caring about where artists come from or on what type of radio stations they’re getting played on or what fanbase they may attract and JUST FOCUS ON THE MUSIC FROM YOUR OWN JUDGMENT.

eva | 11/1/2009, 4:39 pm EST

TO REFRESH the rusted brain of the few here, Mr. Adam Lambert promised a mixed of genre –electro-glam-dance-rock-pop on his album. FYE is just one of those. This song has HIT written all over it! – this coming from me who has a track record of spotting hit songs when I hear one. It’s dancey & sexy!! What a BRILLIANT move! Adam’s fans KNEW his music will be ecclectic and to be “so disapppointed” IS NOT PART OF OUR VOCABULARY.

Hold on to your reign, folks. This kid is multi-talented. He’ll be the KING of MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT!!!

richardw.cosby | 11/1/2009, 6:14 pm EST

Great technical voice but his music released so far is about as messy , confusing and orignal as his image. Started off loving him on AI but as the season went on found him found him just very seasoned and professional sounding poiser…all skill and no soul…broadway ersatz emotions and soul …but nothing orignal. Grew to really dig both Allison and Kris Allen …while not vocally as polished as Adam both seemed more centered and real and i felt like thier music came from thier core not just showmanship. Adam just seemed like all show and no core. Was looking forward to music from all three …Kris, Alison and Adam in that order but from what I have heard from his first two songs released my hopes are fading that anything orginal and convincing will be forthcoming. The seeds of self obsession that you could see on AI have sprouted into a full blown image obsession that is overtaking his music which so far hardly the sounds of the next great thing..but if you are also an obsessed fan i suppose it will do.

richardw.cosby | 11/1/2009, 6:42 pm EST

and please Adman fans…stop attacking people who do not like him as much as you and stop doing it IN CAPITAL LETTERS is doesn’t make you more of an authority. You can’t fault someone for saying he isn’t the next great big thing based on just two songs yet proclaim him the next big thing baised on the same two songs…lol it just doesn’t make sense. Everyone has an opinion and hoping he will be the next big thing and be huge is one thing but declaring it so before it happens? Sheesh..can you help me out with the stock market. Whether his cd is huge or not do you need sales to validate your opinion of him? Alot of crappy music has sold tons of copies and some of the music I like best barely makes a blip …it doesn’t affect my enjoyment of it.

Zaxx,
Why are you such a gay-basher? I’m a straight woman, and I’m not threatened by lesbians. You are what you are, whether redheaded, green-eyed, short, smart, pretty or gay. It just is what it is, hon.

Adam Phan From Philly | 11/1/2009, 8:01 pm EST

One of the other tracks on Adam’s new album is Fever by Lady Gaga. I heard her do it (unreleased song) on YouTube, and I think Adam will kill this one. He could totally rock it out.
I loved TFM, but was less impressed by FYE, even though I liked the hot lyrics, because electropop is just not my favorite musical style. I do, however, think that FYE will be popular at dance clubs and may do well on the radio.

Just heard it and well it sucked, complete pop trash. It will probably be a hit when the media machine gets a hold of it though. I hate MTV.

Krys F. | 11/1/2009, 9:28 pm EST

Man, richardw.cosby summed it up beautifully, I hope he writes for a music magazine. Was well written and he nailed all the problems with Adam prefectly. Adam has been haging around the music scene since he was a teenager, anyone who had any connection to the music secene in southern California knew of him. He looked like his career would be in musical theatre, even getting good reviews in the ill fated 10 Commandments musical. But he is not a rock singer, he’s totally ill-suited for it. He has a semi-operatic voice, listen to these 2 new tunes and you can’t hear a shred of true emotion in his voice. It’s all over-the-top grandstanding, technical singing with no soul whatsoever. rock and roll depends on the emotion and realness of the vocal track over anything else, people can instantly hear if you “mean it or not”. Musical theatre singing is singing as character and singing the song in a technically profecient manner. It’s what he’s doing on these songs and what he did on Idol. He has that high end screeching on the high notes that is truly painful on the ears, lol. Besides his gimmicky vocal delivery his main appeal on Idol was visual, the clothes, makeup, painted nails, emo bangs……

Whoa! | 11/1/2009, 11:00 pm EST

Krys F.

And you’re an expert because….???

Music is in the ears of the listener. If you don’t like Adam’s sound,so be it! That’s your choice. But you paint yourself in a very sticky corner by making such unfounded remarks! You’re in the minority I’m afraid (and so is this richardw.cosby person). There are many reputable, non self-appointed music critics (actual music professionals!)who would have to disagree with you. Many have praised Adam for his technical and versatile vocal range. Adam, from a very young age, has had extensive musical and vocal training and, with all due respect,I choose to believe their expertise regarding Adam’s magnificent and magical voice. The only thing painful (and it’s definitely not Adam’s voice) is the headache I got when reading your ‘armchair critic’ take on music and Adam.

Have a good night,Genius!

To Boo | 11/1/2009, 11:49 pm EST

“Black/Gold” by Sam Sparrow. That is what I was thinking.

sityoassdown | 11/2/2009, 12:37 am EST

For those saying it’s pop, yeah you’re right. And your point is???? Adam said he was going to produce a multi genre album. This is just one song on that album. You can bet there will be different sounds coming. Adam’s sound is going to be mixed genre including pop. He said that all along. His signature is going to be that he will perform whatever genre he wants to because he is that good.

Krys F. | 11/2/2009, 1:45 am EST

Doesn’t take an expert to listen to these 2 first singles and realize they’re both truly, truly awful ;) Godawful. And it’s not looking into a hazy crystal ball anymore……”He has a great voice, his CD is going to be AMAZING !” “He’s the best ROCKER to arrive on the scene in 25 years !” That all sounds incredibly silly now doesn’t it ? He basically dropped a Poison Power Ballad with single # 1 , and a Britney direct rip-off on single # 2. Can you even comprehend the thought that he was going to conquer the music world 2 weeks ago with his “ROCKER” music ??? Critics ? Lol. Critics will savagely rip his album if these first 2 singles are any warning of what the rest of the CD sounds like. Actually it’s been an easy call so far,I even thought, who knows maybe he’ll make some really interesting glam inspired stuff, maybe he can find the right producer who can frame his voice well. But the results are in and if you honestly listen to these first 2 singles and think this is great stuff, man, I dunno what to say, lol. Before these singles were you were an aficionado of Hair Metal Power Ballads ? Or empty Britney club music ? You like that kinda stuff ???? You really thought that’s what his stuff would sound like ? I think we both know the answer ;)

Krys F. | 11/2/2009, 1:48 am EST

And young ? What is he ? Like 29 ? Most musicians best years are from 20 – 30, think of any band, it’s true 98 % of the time. He’s not a kid. And by music bizz standards he’s like 93, lol.

tonto | 11/2/2009, 5:08 am EST

My fascination with Adam Lambert has died. I think Kara? (on AI) was correct when she said he was a great strategist – he sure hooked me in with TomT and kept me there all the way to the end of AI, but since seeing him do the mic stuff with WLL during the summer tour, and listening to TFM and FYE, I’m saying goodbye to the Adam I loved on AI. He sure has lost my respect, and I’m a Glambert and a lesbian. My close friends refer to Adam as my boyfriend haha! And yeah, some of you will thump on me, but I don’t really care. The Adam I grew to love on AI no longer exists. In my eyes, he is a sham – he played us all; I think he knew after Satisfaction he had to tone it down if he wanted to last the distance. And yes, I know this is Adam’s journey, his choices blah, blah, blah. Just my thoughts.

tonto | 11/2/2009, 5:27 am EST

@Holly – are you serious about your comment in regard to Queen’s I Want to Break Free? No way can you compare Adam Lambert’s TFM & FYE to that epic breaking single of the 70’s. Absolutely no way. That was an era when nobody dressed in drag on a music video, or did the kind of things Freddie did with the grapes and those amazing bodies. Sorry, but that song of Queen’s leaves Adam for dead.

DD | 11/2/2009, 5:27 am EST

Tonto, do you think we really care what you have to say? The anwser is NO! We are bored stiff with you and your filty ways to trying time and time again to bring Adam down. No amount of reasoning will make you go away. How about being nice for a change and post something worthwhile reading on Kris’ stories. LMAO.

weegie | 11/2/2009, 6:05 am EST

Man, the Lambert fans are one angry mob, lol. Why do you attack anyone who doesn’t like the 2 singles ? They don’t mention any of the other posters or attack them. It’s just people verbalizing their thoughts on the music, why so angry ? It’s pop music, chill ;)

Ninotoy | 11/2/2009, 7:11 am EST

@Krys F. YES! Adam is over-the-hill. Look at Britney Spears she is only going to be 27 and she is already OTH. Lady Gaga is like 23. Adam is just starting and he is OLD, OLD, OLD for the music business. People start young in the music business, not when they are almost 30, like Adam, plus he is heavy and looks very much like Kelly Osbourne.

Stephanie | 11/2/2009, 9:51 am EST

HAHAHA THIS is what your “Rock God” puts out? It sounds like a poor man’s “Black and Gold” meets “Womanizer”. Adam is such a poser and the only people who will believe that this is “glam rock” in the least are the same people who thought “I Kissed a Girl” was because it had the same beat as “Rock n Roll Part 2″.

Rolling Stone, you’re losing it. Focus on real music again.

Whoa! | 11/2/2009, 9:56 am EST

@ weegie,

From the posts I read on this site,
I think more of the non-fans attack angrily, and it’s not just his music…his looks, his sexuality, you name it! If the complaints were just about the music (songs),it wouldn’t be that bad. If you’ve noticed, there are even some Adam fans who aren’t so crazy about the song(s)(I LOVE anything he sings!). It’s ok to have an opinion when it’s relative to the topic, but ranting about his makeup, skin, hair, sexual preferences, who he hangs out with and other blatant put-downs….that’s just so not going to sit well with those of us who are excited for him and feel very protective of him at the same time.I’m sure there are a lot of non-fans and on-the-fence fans who are unconfortable with some of the nasty spew coming from people.
I think what irks most ‘fans’, however, is when negative posters go out of their way (whether they believe it or not.Personally,I feel they’re just deliberately trying to stir the pot.) and say that Adam doesn’t have any talent. If you don’t like his singing style, that’s one thing, but to say he can’t sing is just plain ridiculous. The majority (fans,non-fans and professionals in the industry) would disagree!!

Have a good day!!

Sorry Fans | 11/2/2009, 12:05 pm EST

Sorry Adam fans, people just don’t like the music that he is putting out. & we have ever rite too vice are personal opinion about it, just like you. I don’t like the fact that people are labeling him as a rock star, when it clear too see from his stuff, that he’s a pop star. And he will do great as a pop star, but will never fit in as a rock star!

Whoa! | 11/2/2009, 12:22 pm EST

@ weegie

See!! Ninotoy and Stephanie are perfect examples of people who deviate from the topic to make ridiculous comments. They just like to hear themselves speak (in this case, read what they write) and they don’t care how..um..silly they sound.

Nino, what does age have to do with somebody recording a song? You could be in your 40s and just starting your career…Susan Boyle for example. Talent is talent, age ‘ain’t’ nothing but a number,!Does that mean we better give the Rolling Stones their ‘pink slips’ ’cause they’re ancient in ‘musician’ years??!!

And Steph, what has Adam done to you to make you sooooo angry? Can you define ‘Real’ music ’cause your definition may differ from mine. As far as I’m concerned, any sound created for the intent of entertainment is real. You see,Adam may be too much for you to handle(and that’s OK!). You may just prefer the vocal stylings of Barney, the big purple dinosaur(and that’s OK,too!!) After all, ‘Real’ music comes in many forms!!

Oh well, live and learn. I should know by now that there ARE antogonists in society who often have nothing nice or intelligent to say about anyone or anything!!

boohoo | 11/2/2009, 1:09 pm EST

Love Adam on AI but the “original” music he’s put out so far is really REALLY mediocre and forgettable. TFM was super cheesy and cliche but at least his voice sounded good on that one. FYE is like third-rate Gaga with a really grating annoying vocal performance, especially in the lower register. Sounds like he’s trying too hard to put on attitude. I never thought I’d say this because he kicked ass on AI but this song really does make him look like a icky pop poser (let’s not even mention the word, “rock”).

I really hope the rest of the album is better but as some have said, if this the first single is supposed to be the best foot forward…YIKES!!

Pop or Rock who cares??? | 11/3/2009, 2:04 am EST

Fans don’t give a sH*t what he sings to be honest!! Go to Adam’s fansites and read the comments there!! He could sing the ABC song and people will still buy his music. I find it ridiculous how so many people love to limit his ability into a certain genre.

giselle | 11/3/2009, 5:35 am EST

well no matter what anybody thinks..there are a hell of alot of comments here..he gets people talking..and his album i’m pretty sure will have something for everyone! just support him guys..he’s new..we KNOW he’s talented…he is gorgeous..just let him find his way..he’ll do some things to blow your mind but also make some mistakes and learn! support, let him find his way and see what happens!

Bridget | 11/3/2009, 10:55 am EST

FYE – absolutely addictive, fun, DANCE DANCE DANCE fuel – I’ve already got it on my ipod and ran three miles today listening to it over and over.

HOT-sexy-nasty lyrics that work on another level to say: “if you have ears and an open mind, I can entertain you.”

Anyone who can listen to this song without smiling, dancing, and feeling sexy is either deaf or dead.

TK | 11/3/2009, 12:54 pm EST

Love it & the lyrics are so sexy! just like Adam.

Eden | 11/3/2009, 7:46 pm EST

I love Adam’s cd! I can’t wait to see him perform these songs live. Adam Come back to Michigan. We love you here!

ianaleah | 11/5/2009, 2:59 am EST

It is fantastic. And just wait till ya hear him sing “Fever” it will be a #1 hit single & so will “Soaked” and several others. And -to another person here using different names and basically saying the same thing over and over-all negative-stop the jealousy, resentment and get a life. kiss kiss

marcy | 11/5/2009, 3:07 am EST

The entire album will be heard and it will be a fantastic success.Adam knows what he is doing, watch and see-the album will ‘rock you’ Ha! oh ye of little faith.lol!

Carrie | 11/5/2009, 3:12 am EST

I am so surprised, but I love it. I do shake my booty listening to it. lol

kelly | 11/5/2009, 3:22 am EST

The song rocks. It feels good and the bashers can try to make us believe it dosent’t but their negativity is nauseatingly apparent and tonto (stupid)and so is their fictional profile.Well, darlings, watch and listen. No need to manipulate.lol. the insides all have given it high praise already.

Dr Edwin corey/Carrie/tonto | 11/5/2009, 3:29 am EST

with your creative ID profiles-stop flamin’and bashin and put it to good use. Adam is magnificant- and the entire music industry, current singers, Ai judges, mentors, guest performers all so that he is- and they actually do know what they are talking about -not you jealous bitter bashers. The CD is filled w great tracks and variety. It’s designed to be a winner and will be so.

tracy | 11/5/2009, 3:33 am EST

I just read the lyrics to Fever-it is killer. Adam will rule.I was surprised when I heard ‘For Your Entertainment”-it is not what I expected, but I listened to it again after my initial and got hooked. It’s great.

davidBloweyjealousysick | 11/5/2009, 3:42 am EST

Adam is an outstanding singer- the song is great and to david blowey-your are trying soooo hard to turn us against a singer the entire recording/music industry praises because it means something to you personally or you wouldn’t care- so- it’s resentment, bitterness, jealousy, and the hatred that comes through is tangible. It is what it is, Adam is a winner.he has a CD. he has fans. He is getting rich. Adam is a winner in life & you -not even close ! !

crazedemcee, philippines | 11/5/2009, 4:15 am EST

I’ve done my research – dude’s vocal range is off the charts. And that’s not hyperbole. There are enough belters (birit queens/babies as we call them) here in our country to draw that sound, unbiased judgment. Plus the way he switched registers (from falsetto to baritone…urgh, sorry don’t know much about these terms) is mind-boggling. Still not a total fan here but gotta admit his colossal potential. That said, I was a bit surprised with his single. But then I figured, considering he’s just another fish in the pond (a new one), the pop route is the smartest way to go. He has to prove his viability (commercial appeal) before he can become a fixture in the music industry. That will take a at least a year or so I think. The tune’s really catchy. Not the best in the world but very, very marketable, IMHO. Sorry for the wrong grammar btw. Not my native language =)

crazedemcee, philippines | 11/5/2009, 4:42 am EST

I don’t think it was overproduced. The song wasn’t meant to highlight his vocals in the first place (although that wail at the end is unmistakable). The problem may be is that people aren’t used to hearing too much studio magic competing with his voice. But if you put the song in context, it fits right in its alley. I’ve heard his pre-idol stuff and it’s a hodge-podge of different sounds – he can do just about anything, very promising. This is a very smart single. Rock, ballad, rnb aren’t as commercial as pop nowadays (correct me if I’m wrong). The song blends right in with what’s hot right now. It’s a strategy to expand his fan base. Plus, it would be amazing to see him perform the song live. I’ve seen his concert vids and he just delivers.

(thank you to mjsbigblog, wow, i think I’m becoming a fan… research gives one perspective =)

glad to all the adam fan haters on here writing their comments, shows that you guys find adam very interesting or you would not have wasted your time writing comments, bet you guys listen to his music over and over.Has for the style of music adam sings is fine with me,I haven’t heard anything yet i have not liked.Adam has many fans with different tastes in music and adam is trying to reach out to all his fans not just to certain genres. Looks good on you adam, keep up the good work.

David Blowey | 11/7/2009, 8:14 pm EST

Er………no….the CD just really really really really really blows, lol. Just stating the obvious !
And what do you know about me ? Lol. Nothing. You have no clue who I am, nice try though ;) And lemme guess, you are none of those things you list either ;) Kinda didn’t think of that before you wrote it huh ??? ;)

David Blowey | 11/7/2009, 8:19 pm EST

And i’m a loser because I don’t like Adam Lambert ? Lol. Nice. Real nice. You know attacking someone personally over an American Idol singer…man…you’re one nasty and unpleasant human being :(

David Blowey | 11/7/2009, 8:33 pm EST

I’ll light a candle tonight for your poor poor husband or boyfriend :(

Wicked Glitter | 11/8/2009, 1:24 am EST

@Dr.Erwin Corey, your right, and were glad. My family of woman(8, all ages) went to Adam’s concert and had so much fun gushing about gorgeous, sexy Adam. Having our husbands and boyfriends there will not work out. since they are all jealous they can just stay home. Plus we just bought tickets to see Lady Gaga ,and we are so excited. We were able to see her perform on American Idol and loved her. I owe Adam Lambert a big thank you because the only reason I noticed her was because I was watching American Idol to see Adam. Adam’s cd is outrageously fantastic! The song he sang by Muse is so beautiful, and haunting. Adam can sing anything, and he will. Just give him time.

Wicked Glitter | 11/8/2009, 8:44 pm EST

Why do some people search out sites just to say negative things? I don’t understand that kind of thinking. Why not go find a place that makes you happy? After all this is supposed to be about happiness, and fun. That’s why I read all I can about Adam. His performances make me feel good, not angry. That is why I went and saw him in concert, and will buy his CD’s. There are other performers who I don’t care for, but I’m not going to go all over the place bitching about them.

B. | 11/10/2009, 9:34 am EST

Wicked Glitter,I agree with you! I’m happy that you were able to find ’something’ you could relate to in Dr. E. Corey’s unscientific and totally meant-to-be-mean statistical breakdown (although I’m pretty sure you were being a tad sarcastic – *chuckle*)

PEOPLE,just give Adam time to prove himself and stop complaining about every little thing! Unfortunately, there are those who feel that they are ‘word’ when it comes to music and if we don’t share in their feelings, the rest of us are just a stupid and musically uniformed group. I prefer to wait and hear the entire album and hold off on hasty pre-judging. As far as Adam’s 2 releases,I love them!! To me,they reveal that his album will be versatile (like him). The songs also display his ‘fantabulous’ vocal range. Again,to each his/her own.

To some of the posters: Is it possible for you share your feelings regarding Adam’s music without resorting to bashing and nasty comments?? If you want your opinions to have credibility,it’s best you state your thoughts calmly and thoughtfully and leave out the ‘blows’ and ‘cheesy’ remarks! You’d be surprised how well your opinions hold!

GlambertLover | 11/11/2009, 5:11 pm EST

The song is AMAZING.. he kept his promise about the album.. is dancey and sexy, and fun .. pretty good for the first single.

I loved the snippets of the songs and of course I love Adam

LoopGuru | 11/11/2009, 10:50 pm EST

The new track is T. Rex and Gary Glitter all right…only without the soul, swagger and tunefulness, and about two tons of overglossed corporate Swedish Britney Spears shit thrown in. ANYONE could have done this. Remember the old days when you made a name for yourself based on talent, THEN sold out? :)

mille | 11/14/2009, 8:30 pm EST

Oh, so this song *isn’t* by Shakira?

That’s really surprising, no offense meant.

Yeah, I think I’ll be sticking to the Miranda side of the Lambert spectrum for awhile.

B. | 11/16/2009, 9:14 am EST

@mille

You SO meant to offend! Who are you kidding? You’re just a typical site-spewer who reads anything Adam and then goes for the jugular. You’re not interested in discussing Adam’s music, you just want to get your little digs in! Well you did, move along!

Do us a favour,if you don’t have anything intelligent to say or have an “actual” opinion,eg: “His music is not my style.”, “I prefer Miranda Lambert’s music”, then don’t come here!! And,PLEASE don’t write back saying “I’m entitled to my opinion”,because your comments were meant to be mean, not opinion based. The ‘Shakira’ jab was a dead give-away. In the future,an opinion requires thought and can hold weight as long as you stay on-topic!
