Rolling Stone is always thrilled to capture a young star covering a legend’s work, and that’s exactly what happened when onetime Breaking artist Jamey Johnson stopped by our studios for an acoustic rendition of Kris Kristofferson’s “A Moment of Forever.” Kristofferson was also the subject of a recent RS story: an epic profile by Ethan Hawke in Issue 1076. Check out Hawke’s guide to the outlaw poet’s essential tracks and click above to watch Johnson’s performance.

Jamey Johnson, one of the few carrying on the tradition of real country music. I’m talkin’ Waylon, Haggard, Emmylou, Jones, etc… NOT Chesney, McGraw, Underwood, Big or Rich and all those top 40 posuers..

This man has talent beyond any one I have seen in life yet. what a great job. There is nothing he can not sing and it not grab you. Way to go Jamey! Do not change and keep it coming to us. We love you and the band. We say “THANK YOU” for bring country music back to us! Folks it does not get any better than this and with that being said get your tickets to his shows to experience your “IN COLOR”. You will not regret it nor forget it

Seen him once at the 40 watt in Athens Ga and it was the best show I have ever been to. Been to a bunch of country shows but this one was real.

Just when I think no one could sound better than the original, I hear Jamey Johnson sing it with the heart and soul as if he wrote the words himself. Jamey Johnson will be the one to keep the traditional county music alive. Best live performance ever.

Have to say I’ve been out of the country music loop but I recently watched the CMA’s and after watching his performance immediately bought the album “The lonesome song” on itunes. Love it!! Love, love, love the voice. Fell in love with country music all over again.

unreal talent. never have i heard a voice that reaches deep in your soul like jamie. he has such an ability to make you feel. his music is so real. i have listened to his cds over and over and i never get tired of it. i want my kids to love and enjoy this kind of country. so tired of all these “country stars” who sound like pop stars. so sick of the new “country” . Jamie is genuine, down to earth-he is what country is about!!!!!!!
