Eminem Drops a Controversial Rhyme at BET’s Hip-Hop Awards

10/28/09, 4:38 pm EST

Last night, BET aired their annual Hip-Hop Awards show, which featured a series of “cyphers” showcasing rappers like KRS-One, Wale, Nicki Minaj and Joe Budden trading verses and rhymes. Mos Def, the Roots’ Black Thought and Eminem passed the mic in one of the three segments, and although all three MCs killed it when their turn came up, Em’s short verse included a controversial statement that was bleeped by the censors: “My dick is so big if I add another inch to it you would swear when I raped you that you was actually into it.”

The crowd emitted an audible “oh no he didn’t!” gasp as Slim Shady finished his verse. The fact that even the semi-edited line made it to air is surprising, since BET is owned by Viacom, the parent company of MTV and VH1 — two networks who have famously censored videos and artists whose lyrics include violent imagery. (Even Madonna’s “What It Feels Like For a Girl” clip was banned for excessive violence after it showed a fiery car crash).

Do you think Em’s rhyme should have been broadcast? Let us know in the comments.

No, that was tasteless.
How embarrasing for him- horrible verse. He couldn’t have come up with something better?

dubar | 10/28/2009, 5:02 pm EST

Planned controversy. You should be used to it by now from him. Get over it.

EgyptianCowboy | 10/28/2009, 5:03 pm EST

Rap is so fucking terrible. I hate it. The guy’s rich for coming up with tasteless rhymes that don’t even go together well.

KC | 10/28/2009, 5:06 pm EST

Yeah, he ripped it. Best verse the whole night.

SPH | 10/28/2009, 5:07 pm EST

That was a crazy verse and of course it should have been broadcast. Since when is rap not explicit. Em is definitely back.

Dakota Lopez | 10/28/2009, 5:08 pm EST

This is a disappointment for me. I’ve always said it and I’ll say it again: Eminem is in his own league. This is definitely a let-down. Black Thought’s bit was the best in my opinion

StrummerJones | 10/28/2009, 5:09 pm EST

Not that great a rhyme, but I’m all for saying fucking whatever. Anyone legitimately offended is over fifty years old.

Jason | 10/28/2009, 5:09 pm EST

M&M wins everytime.

yooo | 10/28/2009, 5:11 pm EST

??? he had da best verse da whole night wats so embarresing bout dat ur a loser …….smh

No censorship….SLIM SHADY IS KING

David | 10/28/2009, 5:23 pm EST

Let the damb man b he just spittin flame stop hatin and get with it. Its just rap

Dewayne | 10/28/2009, 5:26 pm EST

It was a good rhyme. He did something that rappers have forgotten…make sense while they’re rappin. Shady is killin it..straight fiiire

mechelle | 10/28/2009, 5:30 pm EST

Em is a professional line stepper…but it’s undeniable that bar for bar, he’s ridiculous.

big mix | 10/28/2009, 5:33 pm EST

tha boi went off that was a cold rhyme

CuDi | 10/28/2009, 5:35 pm EST

Em spits harrrrrrdddddd!!!!!!!

Oddjob | 10/28/2009, 5:48 pm EST

I am not a fan of Eminem, but I have to admit that line is hilarious.

That being said, of COURSE it should have been censored.

xxxredeye | 10/28/2009, 6:03 pm EST

Nothing better than an “over-the-line” statement by one of the greatest to spit. Em is Em and nobody can do what he does as well as he does. Em is definately back! Love it!

Shame, shame, shame | 10/28/2009, 6:06 pm EST

Considering the recent news story that a 15-year-old girl was gang-raped at her high school, I think it was EXTREMELY inappropriate for Eminem to joke about rape and make it sound like something one would enjoy. And what makes it worse, is that he is the father of a teenage girl. Does he not take into account that he is a role model for her? How can he rap about such things and not think about what if it were his daughter that was raped? That rhyme was insulting and demeaning to rape victims everywhere. No wonder hip-hop has such a bad image these days, look what it glamorizes: violence and intolerance. I hope anti-rape and anti-violence organizations go after him. But knowing him, he might deflect the criticism by performing with Tori Amos at the Grammys.

G.O.A.T @Wreckin_Fresh | 10/28/2009, 6:11 pm EST

Eminem is always going to be a controversal rapper, thats his style. The Cypher best were: Eminem, Mos Def, Black Thought, Joe Budden and of couse Nicki Manaj… That bitch held her shit high in the Air!! And yes it shouldve been aired!!! Its fucking Eminem!!

P.S DURHAM, N.C is in the house!! Wreckin Crew was here!

D. Rob myspace.com/itzdrob | 10/28/2009, 6:19 pm EST

Eminem is one of the best hands down and he’s known for his controversial verses/lyrics.

Why act like you didn’t know.

But the best verse out of all the cyphers last night was Joe Budden from cypher #1.

If you didn’t hear it YouTube it.

C.Wodie | 10/28/2009, 6:29 pm EST

Seriously, have people not caught on that when eminem raps, particularly in freestyle settings such as this, he is vulgar? Its part of his image. That is why he is a legend, because he isnt afraid to say things because it’s part of his creative thought process. In a freestyle he also says

“Met a retarded kid named Greg with a wooden leg. Snatched it off and beat him over the head with the peg.”

So I’m assuming he needs to go apologize to everyone with a mental disability? No. Remember, this is the same guy who made not one, but two songs about brutally murdering his baby’s mother. Get the f*ck over it. He says it to draw reactions exactly like the ones you all are giving him.

Like I said, get over it. If you’re offended, then more than likely you’re not a fan of hip-hop and you’re probably as entertaining as a piece of cardboard yourself.

Eminem wins, again.

Trevor | 10/28/2009, 6:32 pm EST

When he actually acts out what he’s rhyming, than complain. Until then, we’re all mature enough to understand freestyle and the venom that insues with it.
Eminem is like Tyson in his prime, to fast and hits way to hard for anyone to compete with him.

calm down. | 10/28/2009, 6:36 pm EST

To “shame shame shame,” is this the first em song you’ve ever heard? listen to every one of his albums your gonna find a reference to rape (In most of the albums these references are numerous and too many to count). People get sexually abused every day. Just because on 15 year old gets gang raped doesnt mean em needs to watch what he says when he hasnt watched what he’s said for the last ten years. He’s joking, and showing off rhyming talent. He’s not the reason rap has a bad image at all. And why were you not crying when his daughter was just a child and he releases an album with references to him raping his mother, and killing hailies mother, amongst so many others. No organization is going to attack him because under what basis can they? they can attack BET for airing the line (which would be ridiculous. the line is not offensive.), but Eminem has the right to free speech and he is a king of exercising that right.

Sam | 10/28/2009, 7:10 pm EST

People are tired of censorship. If TV wants to stay relevant, they’ll stop worrying about the easily offended.

nonny | 10/28/2009, 7:31 pm EST

i must be so used to listening to eminem i didn’t even realise this would be consider so controversial that rolling stone would need to write an article on it. the cyphers were the best part of the show and eminem definately was the best.

Tired | 10/28/2009, 7:54 pm EST

What Eminem controversial? Say it ain’t so.

Next you’ll tell me Madonna is old and trying to adopt kids to make her image look better …tsk tsk

T-BONE | 10/28/2009, 7:56 pm EST

First of all, remember this is off the top. So for all the haters saying he should have known better, try to say something that compelling make it rhymne and make sense. Illest flows of the night.

Leah | 10/28/2009, 8:25 pm EST

wait? I thought instead of saying ‘raped you’ he said ‘fucked you’.
Ooops, I feel dumb now.. XD

ThatsWhatsUP | 10/28/2009, 8:43 pm EST

hahahah! Em is back at it again! This article just proves it! He’s gettin exactly what he wants!

EM!!! | 10/28/2009, 9:08 pm EST

eminem’s verse was the fastest paced, had the longest words, the most complicated rhyming patterns, and the best punchlines of all 3 rappers. he is in his prime, at 36. he’s like barry bonds from a couple years ago, getting better as time goes on, except that barry was on heavy shit, but em’s clean: people say lil wayne is sick, but he’s high all the time, so its not really him speaking his mind, it’s him saying words he knows. Meanwhile, if u follow it, em’s freestyles make sense AND its just him doin it. he doesn’t need drugs or anything to stimulate his mind and come up with rhymes. he spits sick shit off the top of his head, and that in itself is greatness.

stupid | 10/28/2009, 9:18 pm EST

em is nasty, props to everyone else, they went hard. man, why you concerned with what people SAY, compared to all the other things that people actually do. sins committed all the time. its not good, but it happens so back the fuck off and let the dude spit. i heard way more crazier shit than that. theirs more crazy stuff that happens in this world. people get murdered, raped, abused, blackmai led, extorted, etc. whatever comes out of eminem’s mouth is all about saying the sickest shit, that doesnt phase me at all just the fact it gets the”dammn..” from me.

fanmusichip-hop | 10/28/2009, 9:29 pm EST

soy fan de raperos latinos por que mantienn un estilo antuguo pero eminem–slimshady es una ga-ber para el estilo libre y ya sabian q podia decir muchas verdades no se de que se quejan ee indudablemente es el mejor rapero del momento y viene con mas

menime | 10/28/2009, 9:30 pm EST

i think it’s more offensive that Em thinks his **** is so big. He is white after all.

Drama | 10/28/2009, 9:31 pm EST

So if any other “black” rapper said the same line Eminem did, would they have been critisized??

Em is the greatest alive and one of the greatest ever……

Don't blame the artist | 10/28/2009, 9:56 pm EST

No, don’t censor Slim. Too much censorship with the monopoly that exists in the airwaves today as is. That said, pretty tasteless of him. But honestly, isn’t this how virtually every hip-hop artist sells records? Lowest Common Denominator sells.

Not one rape will occur because of Eminem’s rhyme-anyone that says otherwise is choosing to be ignorant. Just like Judas Priest never caused kids to kill themselves.

David | 10/28/2009, 10:18 pm EST

Dont like it dont jam to it, “We As Americas” Freedom os speech? Anyhow he killed it mad props to Em!

Anonymous | 10/28/2009, 10:49 pm EST

Em KILLED it. Greatest MC living. This verse is not very offensive at all.

ZZ | 10/28/2009, 10:56 pm EST

I’m not a fan of Eminem or middle aged men acting like 15-year-olds, but that was jaw dropping.

Black Hole Sun | 10/28/2009, 11:01 pm EST

I thought it was good, its just rap and he’s known for pushing it. Should know by now if you love him or hate him. Don’t be surprised.

Black Hole Sun | 10/28/2009, 11:03 pm EST

Oh btw he totally took that home.

hahhaaa | 10/28/2009, 11:29 pm EST

holy damn shit that ems verse was badass! i mean the second dudes verse went pretty hard and the first dude was ok but damn, eminem killed it! cant wait for Relapse 2.

Tyler | 10/28/2009, 11:43 pm EST

I thought he was great. He has way more talent than what’s “good” these days. ie. Lil Wayne.

Ignorant Prick who hates em | 10/28/2009, 11:43 pm EST

Eminem is a bad influence to children, he needs to be banned from radio and TV, and maybe get raped so he wouldn’t joke about things like this. He’s also stuck in the past, trying to go back to 2000 when he was hot. I also don’t like that he’s 40+ and acts 13, not to mention that he got plastic surgery to LOOK 13. He needs to retire, look at his sales, 608k first week? I didn’t look up the numbers but im pretty sure thats one of the worst debuts of the year! He’s never won any grammy’s or anything! Only preteen white children like his music, and he’s only famous because of his skin colour. Truth is, no matter what eminem accomplishes, no matter how great he is on the mic, ignorant pricks like me will hate him for no reason and make up bullshit reasons why he is bad and disrespect him. Eminem will always get alot of hate in the mainstream music world, and will NEVER get the resoect he deserves in hip hop. Thats the reality, doesn’t matter if he’s the highest selling rapper of all time, 9-time grammy winner, undeniable one of the most skilled rappers of all time, ton’s of people will do nothing but diss him. Too bad he’s too fucking talented to disappear like ignorant fucks like me wish he would!

Dope | 10/29/2009, 12:27 am EST

Eminem is dope fo real tha verse had me trippin all nite

try listen why u high as fuck and can’t think strait

Easy Duz it | 10/29/2009, 12:48 am EST

That line was a bit much, but the Osama, Obama, dali llama line was sick!. Em is a monster on the mike…Best cypher ever..REAL HIP HOP finally. Not the nonsense about a damn Gucci bandana. Those 3 clowns were a joke….

yozzer | 10/29/2009, 1:00 am EST

you know, a good 3 or 4 songs on his latest album deal with raping and killing women, and people just get worked up now? seriously

nor cal | 10/29/2009, 1:40 am EST

RE: Shame, shame, shame

My school played the school that that happened at, in football, we won like 55-0 btw

its just music | 10/29/2009, 2:39 am EST

Listen, I was raped and I feel like those are just words and rhyming and music at its best. How are you suppose to get the best effect out of anything with censorship. FREEDOM OF SPEECH PEOPLE! When Eminem himself actually rapes someone, then thats a problem. Telling a story is, well, another story.

Jordan | 10/29/2009, 2:45 am EST

Why were people so upset by this? Have you ever listened to an Eminem record before?

Anneliese Curtis Place | 10/29/2009, 2:49 am EST

Eminem controversial? Such a surprise.

Anneliese Curtis Place – Queen of Nightlife

PDiddie | 10/29/2009, 3:19 am EST

Slim Shady killed it. I swear I try my best to not like that dude, but he really (really) brings it every single time.

Dc | 10/29/2009, 4:22 am EST

That freestyle was fucking incredible that is just vintage Eminem

Sly | 10/29/2009, 5:24 am EST

Controversial? does anyone here actually listen to eminem en a regular basis?… That is nothing compared to relapse, or any of his other albums for that matter…. Agreed, Em is in his own level.

Matthew | 10/29/2009, 6:06 am EST

Hahahahaha . Eminem Killed it!
he kiled all u haters of him and all fans of miley cyrus and taylor swift that may hate him. He killed it! the crowd felt it and it was dope as hell and shows em is the greatest artist in the world. period.

Matthew | 10/29/2009, 6:14 am EST

oh u thought that line was bad: what bout him talking bout mailing pictures of his genitalia to tailor swifts trailer lol check the actual lyrics

Dan | 10/29/2009, 6:17 am EST

He didn’t do it though did he?
People in this world actaully DO worse things in this -that should be a topic of discussion not what someone said in a rap battle.

Eminem and KRS1 were the best!

Egg | 10/29/2009, 7:18 am EST

Eminem is the best and proves it again by doing wut he does best which is NOT GIVING A FUCK!! He didn say anythin worse than he has said before but people still freak. Whether you love him or hate him you still think about him and listem to him and thats why he is on a higher level than anybody else rappin today. No one compares except lil wayne, and thats only cuz Em didn put out an album for awhile.

Mark | 10/29/2009, 7:21 am EST

not suitable for broadcast, but that kind of lyric is to be expected from a guy whose major label debut had the line “went to gym in eigth grade and raped the women’s swim team”. right there he’s talking about raping a squad of 14 year old girls. you have to listen to Em the same way you watch a Q Tarantino movie like Kill Bill. someone is trying to take brutally offensive material and make it comical, so you’ll be laughing – but ashamed to laugh at the same time.

Matthew | 10/29/2009, 7:35 am EST

In brief, eminem is the most talented artist in the world and has the most potential to truely blow up. In short eminem (decades highest selling artist) is this generations Rolling Stone.

Matthew | 10/29/2009, 7:40 am EST

Not to mention being totally bad ass and anti-pop/paparazzi candyshop bs

Charlie D | 10/29/2009, 8:17 am EST

Ha ha, I love that people still get worked up about his lyrics after all this time. They are just words and he says them in jest. Get over it peeps!

G-Man | 10/29/2009, 8:23 am EST

There does come a point when you need to censor. I think Em is the shit but the fact is there are gonna be some idiots out there who won’t see past the irony.

erock | 10/29/2009, 8:44 am EST

Guys stop taking this lyric so literally. It is a subliminal hit at Kim Mathers. She went on air to say that em was short stacked in the pants. If you know anything about em is that his rhymes always have reason. he doesnt just spit rhymes just to spit them.

Sofia | 10/29/2009, 9:08 am EST

Eminem.. Controversial.. I would never have guessed.

Eminem so did that on purpose.

matthew | 10/29/2009, 9:13 am EST

good point. he always does stuff of such a high quality that u can look at it from tons of different angles and its always technically genius. (except the accent which was him recovering from a serious drug addiction)

matthew | 10/29/2009, 9:14 am EST

i was talking to e-rock… believe me

matthew | 10/29/2009, 9:15 am EST

Eminem is way more talented than flavour of the month acts like adam lambert

matthew | 10/29/2009, 9:18 am EST

oh and rolling stone. what about that new eminem song feat 50 cent “psycho”? what shitty new generation artist can make a song that cold sound so good. They have to be always talking about love and taking the easy way out.

matthew | 10/29/2009, 9:32 am EST

even 50 cent is proving with his new album what a great mentor and influnce/coach eminem is.

Anonymous | 10/29/2009, 9:39 am EST

I’m not all that offended by it, but knowing that the event was being televised, and knowing FCC regulations, he should have known better than to pull that stunt.

PK | 10/29/2009, 9:42 am EST

I’m anti-censorship.

And it’s Eminem, isn’t most of what he says for shock value anyway?

Spicky | 10/29/2009, 9:57 am EST

fuck the public. Eminem is number one!! and he can say w.e he wants. they act like that was the worst shit he’s ever said anyways

Llerron | 10/29/2009, 10:19 am EST

I don’t see anything wrong with the comment. We all know rappers say whatever the hell they want to say when they freestyle. As long as its not anything racist or bashing a specific group, then get over it. Rappers have said way worse things than that of which Eminem said. It’s really not a big deal to me!

James | 10/29/2009, 10:55 am EST

^ stfu about eminem only doing it for shock value and if so then he presents his shock value better than other g ay artists present their “lyrics”

Whalespoon | 10/29/2009, 11:22 am EST

Em’s shtick is to say or do something outrageous every time the camera is on him. It’s calculated for publicity–nothing more. What’s amazing is that we keep falling for it time after time after time…As long as we do, he’ll keep it coming.

emfn101 | 10/29/2009, 11:37 am EST

i love eminem and his music. you honestly think people dont get raped and if they do we should be hiding it. im sorry i know alot of females who have been raped but what he said was not inapropiate or out of line.

tony | 10/29/2009, 11:44 am EST

I think it is the rap thing, sexplicit lyrics.
Believe me this rap to the core.

Thabo | 10/29/2009, 11:57 am EST

Eminem offers so much. His range is what makes him the greatest; he has tons of different flows and he has also covered alot of relevant important stuff (like keeping suicidal peeps alive ya dig?) among others. When you are high and you hear Eminem you just hear someone that is serious about music period.

Kimkim | 10/29/2009, 12:01 pm EST

They’re just words. Get over it!

Anonymous | 10/29/2009, 12:10 pm EST

I cant believe the tolerace for hate crimes againsed women.

Lu Galasso | 10/29/2009, 12:23 pm EST

Em’s always controversial. So You know ahead of time whether you want to listen to it or not. In my opinion he was the sickest one out of that cypher. Mos Def would have been better probably if he said more and Black Thought while brilliant as always, just took too long. Em’s one minute had explosive lyrics that got his horrible point across, but you can’t knock the guys talent. I’m glad BET played it.

Matthew | 10/29/2009, 12:32 pm EST

rofl at this drone above me.
smfh at the tolerance for hatred against Eminem

Brian | 10/29/2009, 12:33 pm EST

What?! Next thing you know, Kanye West will be interrupting awards shows! Will everyone please stop falling for and reporting these so-obvious-it’s-painful publicity stunts. It makes everyone look really dumb. Like we’re really easily fooled.

Let's Get Things Clear... | 10/29/2009, 12:35 pm EST

Shame Shame Shame, Em spit that verse weeks ago, so please get your facts right before you try to start controversy. He’s been spitting like this since day one, it’s nothing new. I don’t understand why people go on about rap being tasteless when people in rock-n-roll/heavy metal sing about smashing heads in or bite of bat heads at concerts…come on.

CROWN.ROYAL | 10/29/2009, 12:35 pm EST

Matthew | 10/29/2009, 12:53 pm EST

cjf | 10/29/2009, 1:22 pm EST

dats a good fuckin punchline, lay off! he did his thing!

Eric | 10/29/2009, 1:40 pm EST

good job em – stop complaining about how tasteless it was, you guys don’t understand hip-hop. he’s doing it for the shock value, and it’s working. it keeps the food on the table for his little girl, so i’m sure he doesn’t care about what a lot of people think, and he’s gonna keep doin what he does. freedom of speech is the greatest right we have as a human being

Zach | 10/29/2009, 1:51 pm EST

i’m not ganna leave a coomment on this website pretending like im some professional but i will say that alot of people mistake creativity for vulger themes. words are words. people should get the fuck over it and stop bitchin and complaining about it. you guys need to grow the fuck up and stop actin like kids. and one more thing. stop brown nosing eminem. do you really think he gives a fuck about any of you cuz i dont.

Eminem | 10/29/2009, 5:04 pm EST

GOAT. This is the shit em comes up with off the top of his head. he is crazy good.

Dave | 10/29/2009, 10:26 pm EST

Ok to “Shame, shame, shame” down there. People get raped on a daily basis so that news story comes to me as no surprise. Eminem is known for his violent imagery and I’m sure the line was meant to be darkly humorous in a way.

nate | 10/29/2009, 10:55 pm EST

eminem is a lyrical genius. no1 can touch em at the moment and every1 knows it.

D.A.C | 10/30/2009, 12:46 am EST

Is it controversial? yes. Should it have been aired? absolutely. the idea is to boost ratings; Eminem is an easy way to do that. The idea is to create a buzz that will cause discussion; Eminem is good for that. Point is that Eminem does this for a living, and what he says shouldnt be taken seriously because he doesnt actually do these things. Eminem ripped this and i can say that as someone who isnt one of his stans. The man is a genious. Either give him props or dont say anything at all. Eminem is taking hip hop back and slaughterhouse will help him out. if this is considered controversial, then prepare for the worst when he releases his new album.

HAHAHA | 10/30/2009, 1:17 am EST

its so amusing how people take these rhymes so fuckin serious….take it easy, you swear this dude is really gonna go rape someone.

let him say wat he wants . they shoudnt have asked him to be on it if they wasnt prepared for watever he had to say so therefore let it go . . eminem killed it hands down !

d'yerman | 10/30/2009, 12:14 pm EST

Eminem’s shock and awe tactics will slowly die out. He needs to start rethinking his topics to rhyme about and maybe use his wit for other matters. Saying shit just to say shit for controversy is getting a little passe….

Lu Galasso | 10/30/2009, 1:51 pm EST

It seems like a shameful way just to get a lot of press out of it. I think it would be better if everyone would just ignored that it ever happened so that we don’t give him any attention.

addddddd | 10/30/2009, 2:59 pm EST

he gets so much shit.
he’s just messing about, not like he actually means it.
people should stop taking things so literally and get over it haha.
just let him be and speak whatever !

yoyoyo | 10/30/2009, 3:00 pm EST

‘No censorship….SLIM SHADY IS KING’

yoyoyo | 10/30/2009, 3:03 pm EST

EMINEMMM FOREVSSSS

Iowa Fan | 10/30/2009, 5:45 pm EST

Em is running while everybody else is walking. That was sick. As talented as any instrumental virtuoso. Maybe more so.

Anonymous | 10/30/2009, 6:35 pm EST

Ten years after “The Slim Shady LP” was released, and people still don’t understand him. I think we should all calm down, and take this rhyme for what it is – lighthearted fun.

Ben | 10/30/2009, 7:27 pm EST

fuckin dope line im glad eminem came back to reek havoc once again.

Ray | 10/30/2009, 8:34 pm EST

MATTHEW | 10/31/2009, 3:01 am EST

Eminems owns everyone. His artist (50 Cent) even owns everyone (in sales) but Eminem is like the Michael Jordan of rap, I agree with Rakim on that one.

matthew | 10/31/2009, 3:58 am EST

Since when has it been the cool thing to hate on Eminem? If you hate what he is and what he stands for then I hope you believe in someone that stands for more (as if such a person exists)

James | 10/31/2009, 4:02 am EST

ZJ | 10/31/2009, 6:51 am EST

Hey, “shame, shame, shame..” Shut up! Go thump your Bible and move into a cabin in the middle of the woods.

Stacey | 10/31/2009, 7:48 am EST

Get over it
Eminem is always controversial, always has been probably always will be. You expect it, yeah the line was cheap and a little tacky but whatever, he’s come out with better and worse before. He takes the piss out of all sorts of celebrities and gets away with it, and he still has respect.
It just seems now he’s come back from his ‘break’ he’s trying to push it further than before, maybe this will be his downfall.

jackie | 10/31/2009, 9:56 am EST

Aw hell no!This out of the guy who has a daughter??!? Again-AW HELL NO!

proud stan | 10/31/2009, 10:00 am EST

you guys still don’t get eminem I see lol
after 5 years of hiding he still is the greatest and its proven since a one minute video of him rapping took the WHOLE SHOW

jackie | 10/31/2009, 10:02 am EST

To Anonymous-just what is ‘lighthearted’ about rape? Is that how you get your manthrill on? Or,if you’re a woman, nothing on this planet will make me understand you! There is a large rock someplace.Find it.Love it.Get under it.Stay there.Thank you.

true tori fan | 10/31/2009, 10:16 am EST

note to shame, shame, shame: you are right, but tori amos knows better than to even perform at the grammys. she never will. re: rape. everyone should read an important book called “Yes Means Yes.” it is about turning our current rape culture into a sexually empowering one. is it a better world? i think so.

Eminem | 10/31/2009, 11:09 am EST

Thanks for your support guys. And yes, all these other artists do really bore me.

Sticky | 10/31/2009, 12:30 pm EST

That isn’t even that controversial. I can think of at least 10 more controversial things Em has said that have been on TV. Anyway, he is one of the (if not THEE) best rapper EVER and anyone with good taste knows that. Gosh, I <3 him.

Ray | 10/31/2009, 1:37 pm EST

FUCK y’all HATERSZ!! all i knoe shady is the best mo’fuckin’ rapper

Anonymous | 10/31/2009, 1:59 pm EST

That line is not original. Eminem sucks. White guys can’t do it at all.

No mas | 10/31/2009, 4:50 pm EST

You em groupies are too much. The rhyme was wack and he’s getting too old for these antics. He’s washed up…traded in art for pure controversy.

No mas | 10/31/2009, 4:54 pm EST

And he’s clearly got plastic surgery.

Donovan | 11/1/2009, 12:15 am EST

Em was the nicest, then Black Thought and then Mos. However not just Em put out something that should have been given a bleep how about Black Thoughts BiPolar like Phyllis Hyman…that’s not cool so many people with mental illness comitt suicide because of stereotypical thoughts like this. Rape is wrong but so is putting down people for having an illness.

Matthew | 11/1/2009, 6:00 am EST

^ He looks like a youthful 37 year old. Maybe he took botox but dont even try and hint that he’s a freak like MJ

dc | 11/1/2009, 9:12 am EST

guess who back, back, back
back again
shadys back
tell a friend

Roy | 11/1/2009, 9:56 am EST

Em had a baby face back in 2000. He’s gonna look young at this age because of that. He just looks different because he’s gotten older. And he’s gotten a lot skinnier.

Anyway, people need to lay off. It’s not that Em is doing this for controversy, this is just him being him. His mind won’t lay off of certain things. I bet he doesn’t even look at it as controversial and didn’t expect all this. Em is very creative, he just has a different mind set as an artist. He’s a genius in my opinion.

He’s got you guys talking about him, and I doubt he even tried. That’s how good he is. And people call him irrelevant. Pitiful.

Johny.C. | 11/1/2009, 1:17 pm EST

Yes cause its a freestyle like back in the old days where you could say anythink and what harperned to freedom of speech.
All the old rappers are much better than most of the newbies out now

Matthew | 11/1/2009, 1:30 pm EST

You cant call Em irrelvant coz no matter who ur fav artist is (unless its Em) they are less relevant internationally than he is lol

Matthew | 11/1/2009, 1:34 pm EST

For example. Who else goes number 1 in every country that matters and that has a chart? Who else can be AWOL for 5 years, come back, drop an average to poor single and sell
605-000 copies the first week and go platinum in a fortnight?

rexy | 11/1/2009, 2:30 pm EST

eminem is the shit. he is the alpha n omega. he is hannibal lectar n right now he was n still is the best at wat he doos if u hate fuck u is all i have say…… thtas real hip hop

Roy | 11/1/2009, 4:37 pm EST

Eminem might be irrelevant in pop culture, but in hip hop, he’s very relevant. People are on their toes waiting for something dope from him. He’s been bringing it after an average to below average album. He’s been wowing people left and right since the release of Relapse. It’s crazy. I haven’t seen shit like this since Em first came on to the scene.

Matthew | 11/2/2009, 2:27 am EST

^ Yes since Relapse dropped (which was a warmup and ercovery from drugg addiction) Em has been on fire.
He:
1) Killed Mariah Carey (officialy her CD didnt sell very weell) with the Warning
2)Killed the other top emcees in the game on “Forever”
3) Rocked the Bells for LL Cool J delivering a fantastic tribute with Black Thought
4) Killed the cypher; had everyone gasping
5)(He did kill the final dozen tracks on Relapse (his return to sobriety)(I’m also including bonus songs)
6) The song with 50 Cent Psycho leaked. Em was destructive there too.

giostail | 11/3/2009, 1:13 pm EST

bueno bueno cada dia mejor eminen q viva el rap y la cultura

Thy Sanctum | 11/3/2009, 6:45 pm EST

Does anyone actually care about Em’s feelings? He is exactly how God made him.

Madeline | 11/11/2009, 12:11 pm EST

He’s said things that are more over-the-top before.
