Adam Lambert’s “Time for Miracles” To Debut Before Jackson’s “This Is It”

The music video for Adam Lambert’s “Time for Miracles,” from the upcoming apocalypse flick 2012, will fittingly debut in movie theaters: the American Idol runner-up’s clip is set to premiere as part of a trailer before Michael Jackson’s This Is It when the documentary hits the big screen on October 28th. As Rolling Stone reported yesterday, a brief audio clip of “Time of Miracles” was unveiled this weekend, but fans won’t have to wait that long to hear the power ballad, as Lambert tells MTV that the full song should be released around October 18th.

Go behind the scenes of Lambert’s RS cover shoot in exclusive photos.

“[The video] was really performance-driven. It was really about the lyric content and the emotional guts of the song,” Lambert told MTV. As 2012 focuses on the end of the world, Lambert’s blockbuster video will also feature scenes of disaster, as people will panic and loot as the Wild Idol belts out “Miracles” amid the chaos. “That was pretty wild, to try to stay focused on the song while that was happening,” Lambert said. Footage of 2012 will also be interlaced into the video.

See what surprises Adam Lambert has planned for his “sexy” November debut.

“Time for Miracles” was produced by Rob Cavallo, who also recorded some tracks for Lambert’s upcoming post-Idol debut. “[Cavallo] pushed me to the limit,” Lambert told MTV. “I sang for my life. It was quite a day of recording, but it turned out great.” Cavallo let a few details slip out to Yahoo! Music, listing “Suburban Decay,” “Winners” and “Music Again” as songs that potentially could wind up on Lambert’s album. Lambert is still hard at work on his much-anticipated debut, Twittering last night that he was working with Howard Benson, who previously produced Daughtry, Creed and Kelly Clarkson. “This album is gonna be Siiiiiiiiiiiick,” Lambert tweeted.

I cannot understand why so many people care about this as-seen-on tv pop-tart.

Mell | 10/14/2009, 12:20 pm EST

Now I’m doubly glad I’ve already got tickets to This Is It! I’m so curious about this song, and a video with riots and explosions = WIN.

MadamAdam | 10/14/2009, 12:25 pm EST

Just got my tix! So excitied for Adam and career! THIS IS IT! TIME FOR MIRACLES!

LOL | 10/14/2009, 12:51 pm EST

at the people refusing to enjoy Adam Lambert as an artist and not just someone from AI. He’s beyond that, and if you read any press from the tour or watched any of his performances, you’d know this by now.

TotalRecall | 10/14/2009, 1:12 pm EST

This is great publicity for Lambert.

I think he’s talented. And yeah, Idol’s a joke, but you have to start somewhere.

I mean, come on, just imagine. He’s got some great PR people that’s for sure. And they wouldn’t go to such extremes for “a joke.”

Swingline | 10/14/2009, 1:24 pm EST

a P.R. team would most certainly go through such extremes if the “joke” in question could make them some money, even for 15 minutes.

People who read Adam Lambert posts:

1%: WHO?
1%: OMG HE IS THE BESTEST EVERRR!!1!
1%: UGH HE SUCKS
1%: YOU SUCK FOR SAYING HE SUCKS
1%: NO *YOU* SUCK
5%: I DO/DON’T LIKE HIS HAIR/MAKEUP/OUTFIT

woohoo!!!! yay for adam!!!! :-D

I already hate this guy and I have yet to hear a peep put of him…

Sweetnothings | 10/14/2009, 4:04 pm EST

I really can’t think of anything more fitting — finally a highly talented music artist getting treated right and not getting missed by the radar which only tends to pick up the same nice mediocre commercial sound.

outofblue | 10/14/2009, 4:16 pm EST

For all of you “critics” out there: MAJOR producers/writers have worked with Adam Lambert and have all been left open-mouthed by his talent..this comes directly from them, not some random reports. Showing the video with this MJ film which will be seen all over the globe is VERY fitting and will be huge exposure for him.

Do you want to have SEX with every musician you admire?

Why do people think just because Adam is gay the opposite sex can’t admire his talent? Or even think he’s attractive?

Anonymous | 10/15/2009, 9:19 am EST

How long is MJ movie will be in the theatre? It would be great to see both MJ and Adam on big screen, but I’ll still be Asia when the movie is released. Will it be playing it in Vietnam? if so, when? There are a lot of Adam fans here in Asia I happened to see as I travel through some of the countries. I couldn’t believe it! Hooray to Adam and I’m eager to hear any song of his. So does all these Asians here in far east.

Pslightly Psycho | 10/15/2009, 9:28 am EST

Yet ANOTHER reason NOT to go see this movie. Should be retitled THIS IS SHIT.

What. | 10/15/2009, 9:35 am EST

You don’t make music for movies.. What the fuck… I’m so sick of this stupid shit. You don’t sing because you’re just a good singer, you sing and write music because you’re an artist. You’re just a fucking product the industry can market to the masses. Oh and the song is nothing unique or even catchy for that matter.

What... U saying? | 10/15/2009, 11:45 am EST

“You don’t sing because you’re just a good singer, you sing and write music because you’re an artist.” – What.

Tell that to Elvis and Streisand. What an ignorant comment. I suppose anyone who can dance isn’t really a dancer either because he/she isn’t a choreographer too.

outofblue | 10/15/2009, 1:25 pm EST

I am sure that “What” is busy cultivating his genius talent in ‘moron.’ Why so much detest for Adam Lambert? I know AI may not be the most “credible” source of talent but he is clearly the exception. Can you sing every note on the neck of a guitar? Come back and talk to me when you can.

GNRBUCKEYE | 10/15/2009, 3:25 pm EST

Who really gives a crap about this nancy??? Arent his 15 minutes up yet? Rolling Stone you have stooped very low.

I can’t wait to see Adam’s beautiful face on a giant movie screen, and to hear his a gorgeous voice thundering across the theater. I wish it was two hours of just Adam.

I am going to see “This Is It” just to see Adam. When he appears on the big screen I know I am going to be so happy. I was not going to go see This Is It, but I am now. I do not have my ticket yet but will get it on Monday. I pre-ordered Adams c d and the 2012 video. I cannot wait for these to come. If his single comes out on I tunes, I will purchase that also. Anything Adam I will buy, because Adam Is Fantastic. I purchased the Rolling Stone magazine with Adam on the front. When will Rolling Stone have another one. I will buy that also. I heard the last Rolling Stone magazine with Adam on the front Sold Out!!

MistyMountainHop/zoso | 10/15/2009, 11:05 pm EST

why are we commenting on how he sucks? The article is about the a movie and music and not Adam in general. Get lives ,people.

Goshdarn | 10/15/2009, 11:27 pm EST

I can’t wait to see Adamns fully made up pittied face …tounge sticking out…nothing shapeless body blown up on screen…and hear his screech at full blast thru the audio system….get real folks he is about as sexy as a drag queen. He has a great voice but his style is a bit over the top and not orginal…this magazine has a major crush on this guy and gives him way more press than anyone who has not yet even released an album. How about giving some exposure to some true rock acts out there who are not showbiz poisers. RS…just a shade of its former self :(

Glambrina | 10/15/2009, 11:30 pm EST

Adam is the reason I subscribed for home delivery of Rolling Stone Magazine, RS should really be thankfull to Adam because I know many Adam fans did so as well.

This is to all the nasty hateful posters… GET A LIFE! If you don’t like Adam why do read articles about him?! Seriously it’s sad that you go around searching for the mere mention of his name just to critize him or his fans!

Anonymous | 10/16/2009, 10:06 am EST

Love Adam, and anything he does. It’s funny how the haters follow Adam’s articles and must make nasty comments… Don’t take it out on Adam for your shitty lives and don’t bother his fans with your jealousy. No matter how you protest it’s not jealousy, sorry to inform you IT IS!

WitchyWoman | 10/16/2009, 11:12 am EST

First of all, it’s about the music. If you haven’t heard Adam sing you should reserve judgement until you do. His vocal ability is amazing. Second, yes his loyal fans love his looks and the way he performs on stage. You don’t have to watch if you don’t want to. Third, yes we know he’s gay. It isn’t required for him to ACTUALLY has sex with us to find him an exciting performer. Lastly, I find it curious that people who purport to hate Adam Lambert keep showing up to read about him and post comments. One would think you’d find something else to do if that’s how you really feel. Fascinated much?

mm | 10/16/2009, 12:38 pm EST

@Goshdarn: love your comment, LOL SO TRUE!!!! Sorry people it’s all true, yes he can sing, but god those high notes, well it not a good thing. With his look & style, seems like he is trying too hard & trying to copy another singer that loves glam & eyeliner, I’m not going too name names, but the fans know & so does RS!

Adam Lambert= POSER

outofblue | 10/16/2009, 1:25 pm EST

@goshdarn..No, Rolling Stone isn’t a shadow of it’s former self, it’s readers like YOU! It is amazing to me the amount of ignorance and intolerance here, Rolling Stone was always a haven for the exact opposite and free thinking. I guess it just reflects the mindset of the public who elected G.Bush for 2 terms. VERY disheartening.

Jazzy Delight | 10/16/2009, 2:21 pm EST

I can’t wait to see this Sexy Man boogie onstage! My Christmas Miracle wish: A “dance-off” with Justin Timberlake (or maybe notorious Bad Boy Steven Tyler)!

geezlouise | 10/16/2009, 6:02 pm EST

Interesting that the Adam haters tend to be those who have not even heard him sing. Whatevs, kids. I, for one, think he is a great talent, the next big thing, and I tend to agree with those in the industry, those who HAVE heard him and have worked with him who know just how big and talented he is.
I’m going to see This Is It mostly to see Adam’s music video, a sign that the industry is noting that the torch is being passed from one legendary artist to the next.

Rose | 10/16/2009, 10:54 pm EST

I Will see “This Is It” just to see Adam on the screen. He is the complete package and I am looking forward to all his Cd’s. True talent is a pleasure to watch and listen to. GO ADAM

leil | 10/17/2009, 5:16 am EST

i too will watch MJs This is It and 2012 just to see and hear ADAM! He is the most talented artist of this century!!

MiMi | 10/17/2009, 1:41 pm EST

I wasn’t going to see THIS IS IT, but—-now I’m thinking I will have to—just to hear and see Adam.

I would also like to know who made GOSHDARN the expert on what is sexy. From the comments across the country, I would imagine that a lot of people’s definition of sexy is Adam Lambert. I know he gets me going, and it has nothing to do with his sexual preference, it’s how he looks and moves and puts his heart and soul into everything he sings, and IT FEELS GOOD!

terie | 10/17/2009, 3:13 pm EST

FULL VERSION of TIME for MIRACLES released in Italy today and is on Ytube now. FABULOUS!! ADAM NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!

terie | 10/17/2009, 3:23 pm EST

To all the BASHERS & HATERS … WHO CARES WHAT YOU THINK????

pollypaige | 10/17/2009, 5:28 pm EST

I will go to see this movie just to see Adam’s video. I heard the full version on YouTube (about 20 times), and it gave me chills. If you don’t like his music, then don’t buy it and don’t listen to it. That’s what I do with artists that I do not like. As for those of you commenting on his sexuality, get over it. Gay men and lesbian women are coming out of the closet, and I say good for them. Why live a lie like Rock Hudson and so many other old school stars did? Love is love and sex is a gift to be enjoyed. Oh, and by the way, I am a straight woman who thinks that Adam is totally hot, and I’m fine with the fact I can never have him. I already have a straight guy who rocks my world, and I love him.

ARH | 10/17/2009, 6:03 pm EST

I am so excited to see this video. Seeing and hearing Adam at the same time will be mindblowing.

I find it interesting that even the haters can’t ignore Adam Lambert. Otherwise, why are they here reading about him. Funny – when I see articles about people who don’t interest me, I turn the page – not stay and fester hatred because I don’t like the way they look or sound. Adam will be a huge star with or without you. The top people in the industry are beating a path to his door to get the chance to work with him. I guess time will tell. Adam ROCKS!!

Scout | 10/17/2009, 10:40 pm EST

I am a huge Adam fan. That being said, I listened to the full version of Time for Miracles several times and was very disappointed. Not with Adam’s vocals – they are terrific – it’s the arrangement. He is competing with the loudness of the orchestra and at the end there is no definition between adam’s voice and the orchestra. It just sounds like white noise. They should retool it NOW.

Steph | 10/18/2009, 12:16 am EST

Wow, there are a lot of loser hater trolls out there. Are they idiots, afraid of gay people or just freakin’ jealous jerks?

If you don’t want to hear about Adam (or any other singer/band) then, NEWSFLASH, don’t freaking read articles on them. DUH!!!

Anyway, I am looking forward to hearing what Adam is going to put out. I think the man sounds amazing. There are very few who has that sort of range. He’s definitely one of the best singers (probably the best technically) to come out of AI.

viky | 10/18/2009, 1:49 am EST

I am paying to see a 5 minute video? Hell Yeah!!!

grakky | 10/18/2009, 11:55 am EST

Some people won’t recognize good music if it ran over them, backed up, ran over them again, backed up….

“Epic” was mentioned and is correct, reminds me of Armageddon.

Good job ADam.

Cathy | 10/18/2009, 11:56 am EST

Most of the haters are Kris fans who are unhappy that Adam is getting more publicity than Kris.

Anonymous | 10/18/2009, 3:30 pm EST

MiMI…I guess according to you one can only comment on the sex appeal of Adam if they find him sexy…so you must think those that do are the experts…sheesh just expressing my opinion… and from comments across the country ..many find him creepy.

OUTOFBLUE …..democratic out gay man here so really…stop assuming. I have been reading RS for almost 40years and I assure you ..it is a shadow of its former self.

Adam has a great voice and range and the over the top stage persona of a drag queen….but he has yet to prove that he is a great recording artist…he shows promise but aside from a few performances on AI how he chooses to use his gift is still suspect..frankly he just needs to keep his excess in check and service the song and not grandstand. I agree with SCOUT..his voice sounds amazing on Miracles but the song is a mess …again he and his producers need to keep the excess in check.

Great innovators usually come from outside the mainstream where thier uniqueness thrives…Elvis sitting in his bedroom strumming a guitar.. the Beatles mixing rock …R&B and tin pan alley in the hothouse clubs of Germany and Liverpool…Punk and Grunge from frustrated youth rebelling to rightwing conformity. RS the next big thing is coming from out there ..stop being lazy and go out and cover it like you used to…instead of giving someone who has more than his share of warranted coverage.

For the glamberts or RS to proclaim this guy the saviour of pop music before he has put out anything to judge is ridiculous. Why not give him the Noble Peace Prize also.

Personally I found that Kris Allen..tho not as talented vocally ..was doing much more interesting song choices and taking more chances musically than anyone on last season and look forward to see what he does on his record…not proclaiming it great before I hear it. His is an album I could see myself listening to without fearing a cringe inducing moment or two unlike some of Adams songs on AI .

Scout | 10/18/2009, 6:03 pm EST

Thank you Anonymous for the support. As i said before, I am an
Adam fanatic. I adore his voice and have purchased all his studio songs from AI. However, I stand by my assessment of Time for Miracles. Good until the 3:30 mark and then it falls apart, the orchestra, not Adam. A little remix might save the day. It’s Adam i want to hear, not the instruments that drown him out.

islasands | 10/19/2009, 3:41 am EST

Have waited to hear this song ever since Brian May (Queen -for the non music fans posting here)said ““I’m not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists … but Adam’s voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. It’s an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star,”

I’m not a great fan of the movie soundtrack “power ballad” genre, but certainly agree with May’s description of Lambert’s vocal and interpretive skills. Great launching pad for getting his name out there in readiness for the release of his own music on his album. Judging by the comments made by the producers, artists, and writers (all big guns in the music industry) it sounds as though we have a lot to look forward to from Lambert. I think we may be witnessing the emergence of the major transformative pop/rock male singer of this generation.

Madams Sparklecows | 10/19/2009, 9:08 am EST

It just amazes me the crazees that come out of the woodwork after each season of AI. This years Sparklecows are the Cooktards, and Claymates of days past.

Long and short of it, people with no life need something or someone to tard over. This guy is a no talent karaoke competitor. Get over it, he is not Elvis reincarnated. Gene Simmons said it best and he should know!

outofblue | 10/19/2009, 11:12 am EST

For an out gay man you seem to certainly have issues with anyone flamboyant. There are many definitions of art, some use their creative writing, some use performance as means of expression. Adam L. has been not only genetically gifted with his voice but has worked for years developing it to it’s full potential. It is rare to come across a singer with his range and technique. (he was voted 2nd only to Jackie Wilson ((brillant))in the list of top 100 rock vocalists..have you seen it??) He also has the ability to inject color with each note which fans react to emotionally..again, few singers can do this easily. He is smart, open honest and provocative much like Madonna before him..except he actually has vocal talent. He has worked for years in other aspects of this industry(recording, bands, theater) and paid dues, NOT like these kids they find on youtube. And if you don’t find him sexy, fine, your choice. You can’t detract from his ability and millions of people don’t care whether you like him or not!

ursiemay | 10/19/2009, 3:15 pm EST

Madam Sparklecows
Guess all the tards will be drooling at the AMAs this year…

Tarding over Adam Lambert sharing the stage with Black-eyed Peas, Alicia Keyes and other no talent “karaoke” artists…

Madams is hurtin here…

Anonymous 2 | 10/19/2009, 3:30 pm EST

Hey anonymous
No offence man, but you should just chill with your record collection and your memories. You too old to get the likes of Lambert or Gaga. Just sayin

Madams Sparklecows | 10/21/2009, 7:27 am EST

In 5 years we’ll all be seeing Lambert going the route of other Idol wannabees such as Taylor Hicks, Rueben Studdard, Clay Achin’, and many more long forgotten. This season will bring more tards out of the wood work. This guy has done NOTHING in the music world but be on a televised karaoke show and he gets a RS cover. It shows the said state of the media in this country.

Sweetie | 11/2/2009, 11:15 am EST

I was SO looking forward to this!

But I’ve been to THIS IS IT twice now, and only saw one 2012 preview – and Adam was nowhere in it. You could hear him singing, and his name was on the screen at the end. But what happened?
