The 20th anniversary celebration of Doolittle kicked off last night as the reunited Pixies performed their 1989 epic at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre. The concert featured the band performing Doolittle in its entirety, sandwiched between a handful of B sides. So this week’s Flashback jumps back to 1989, when Frank Black had a lot more hair and the Pixies were making what’s labeled as their U.S. television debut on Lorne Michaels’ short-lived Night Music series. The Boston band performed a pair of Doolittle tracks, “Monkey Goes to Heaven” and “Tame.” The Pixies touch down stateside on November 4th with a show in Los Angeles.
