When Rolling Stone’s Brian Hiatt hit the road with U2 to report on U2360°, the biggest tour in history for our new issue, he also got the band to open up about their next project — an album called Songs of Ascent — and the future of the songs for Bono and the Edge’s Spider-Man musical. Bono also revealed how the band views its haters (”They’re in the pub going, ‘I can’t stand him look at his fucking head on him. Look at the head on him. Who does he think he is? Fucking Jesus’ “) and told an awesome story about the unlikely meeting of Jay-Z and James Bond at a posh Monte Carlo restaurant. Read the Q&A here:

bono’s strut was easier to stomach when he had long hair. now he just looks like your recently divorced uncle, trying to hide his age behind shades and a leather jacket. van morrison, now there’s an irishman who knows how to act his age.

LOL releasing another album cause their last bombed BIG time…. What happened U2? People woke up and realized you are as overrated as Rolling Stone make you up to be….

aww poor bono

guess the overpriced tour will help make you some sort of money once you realize this new album is gonna bomb too. your old bono & your not that great & we all know there are major wrinkles and bags under those shades…

A band always puts their strongest songs on a CD.It took U2 FOUR years to come up with this No Line CD,which barely sold 1 million copies in the U.S.. U2 slapping together a new CD in less than a year before touring again next summer smells of desperation, and they`re spreading themselves thin by wasting a bunch of tunes on a Spider Man musical.BIG mistake.

*sigh*

Woodwork squeaks and out come the knuckle draggers, (i.e. those of extremely low intelligence, or general stupidity) … .

U2 have been and probably will be remembered as one of the greatest bands in history…but not if they keep bloody releasing albums that are way past their due date! How about you guys give up and let people anjoy some of the great music you have produced instead of making us cringe at some of the rubbish you are releasing now days (Boots- what is that!) hand the reign over to Coldplay or someone else good and we will all be happy! RETIRE

You people are a bunch of morons, Songs of Ascent was planned before the “failure” of NLOTH, which overall has sold more then 3 million copies so far and around awards time will probably be about 5 million, thats decent. So what, Coldplay had one really decent album how the fuck is U2 suppose to hand over a crown to them…1 album, 1 fucking album…and don’t ever start because I know Coldplay, Rush of Blood, a few good songs…some might say this was their best album currently, X & Y…meh, Viva La Vida shows they have room for growth and the hit single that one Song of Year shows they have some songwriting that blossoming, but no were near Bono.
