Scott Weiland wasn’t going to let something like a little seizure prevent him from performing this weekend: As Rolling Stone reported late Friday, Weiland suffered a mild seizure on a flight from Los Angeles to Miami, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Dallas. After a brief visit to the hospital, Weiland — who was in “good spirits” after recovering — caught a flight to Miami and made it in time for his scheduled hour-long solo performance at the city’s Mansion venue, TMZ reports.

See exclusive pics of Scott Weiland backstage and onstage during his solo tour.

The quick-healing Weiland and the rest of the Stone Temple Pilots also announced that they’ll hit the road next month for a jaunt of the States in October and a raid on Canada in November. Weiland and the gang will then bid goodbye to 2009 with a New Year’s Day show in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Check out the tour as it stands now below:

The Fresno fair and a casino in Oklahoma. How the mighty have fallen.

I found last year’s tour to be very half-assed. Mostly due to Weiland but also due to the exact same setlist every show (only altered when they dropped the ShangriLa material).

I guess at this rate next year they’ll be playing the alley between Bob’s Bait Shop and Wendys somewhere in South Dakota…

C’mon now, let’s not knock the Fresno Fair. I have tix to see MC Hammer in a couple weeks there, at like a third of what STP is asking for their tix and what will surely be 3x more entertaining.
Also, STP’s first appearance in the ‘No was at the Fair for the “Core” album. Is it bad when you declare that this show is coming full circle?

I think we all agree that a new album would probably suck, so how some reissues? Give us the old album with a bonus concert. Who wouldn’t buy Purple again if it came with the Unplugged concert?

STP at Bob’s Bait Shop and Wendys somewhere in South Dakota, is still less pathetic than a Velvet Revolver concert.

Evergreen Layne | 9/22/2009, 6:13 pm EST

No way man. I caught Velvet Revolver in ‘07 with AIC opening and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. And if you knew me you’d be extremely impressed.

To Evergreen Layne, | 9/22/2009, 6:24 pm EST

You have horrid taste in music.

Who are you? | 9/22/2009, 7:55 pm EST

I don’t know anything about the fair nonsense, but they’ve always been amazing live (if Scott’s in good shape that is). Furthermore, a new album would be great. God forbid we have some good, ballsy rock & roll out there rather than this pseudo hard-rock emo trash

vdawg | 9/22/2009, 8:10 pm EST

To the last post you are a true dickhead!

wallytarkington | 9/22/2009, 8:43 pm EST

Not a huge STP fan, but I am an Okie, and if you guys knew how much those Indian Casinos paid, you’d shut the hell up!

To Jeff | 9/23/2009, 12:08 am EST

Jeff, don’t be jealous that STP will make more money at the Fresno
Fair and an Oklahoma casino for 3 hours of work than you will in a whole year.

Dude | 9/23/2009, 12:14 pm EST

Hey- you know what, it’s cool they are playing these shows. How many times do solid Rock bands go to Alberta or Biloxi? I live in LA and I’m from the south and I know that the fans in Oklahoma and Mobile will be grateful. I wish I could play in front of thousands of people and tour North America.

Matt | 10/17/2009, 8:19 am EST

Saw them at the Fresno Fair, and they friggin’ rocked. I for one am glad they came to my neck of the woods!

Mitch | 10/19/2009, 11:32 pm EST

Why would a new album suck? STP has given us good album after good album. I don’t expect the new one to be any different.

CDF | 11/15/2009, 11:45 am EST

We saw STP in Concho, OK for my fifth time over 15 years and they still rock. The casino’s due pay huge $’s for their shows. STP has always said its about the fans not the size of the venue…can’t wait till the Jan 1 show in Thackerville, OK….$90 for row 3, worth every penny.

J | 11/20/2009, 5:56 pm EST

I saw STP 2 nights ago in Hamilton Ontario. Scotts voice was a little off but the rest of the band was rock solid. I enjoyed the show very much….

I saw some great bands at the Fresno Fair when I was growing up,haven’t lived there for a while, saw Ambrosia, Flash Cadillac & The Continental Kids…seriously
