  • Pioneering turntablist Roc Raida passed away on Saturday, September 19th. Details are slim, but a source tells AllHipHop.com that reports that his death was related to injuries suffered from a car accident or a karate class are inaccurate. Roc Raida was a founding member of the New York DJ crew X-Ecutioners, whose pyrotechnic scratching helped redefine the art of turntablism in the ’90s.

  • A judge in Los Angeles has ruled that Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine can challenge the administrators of his estate without losing her share in a family trust, according to BBC News. Her lawyers stated that she wanted more say in the estate even though the singer’s will contained a “no contest” clause.
  • London’s glammy electronic crew Goldfrapp announced they are scoring the upcoming John Lennon bio pic, Nowhere Boy, according to a post on their official blog. The film about John Lennon’s life as a young boy is the directoral debut of British conceptual artist Sam Taylor. Goldfrapp is planning to record orchestral arrangements for the score in Abbey Road Studios before the film’s premiere on October 29th.
  • The New York Times has more details about the extramarital affairs of one-time presidential candidate John Edwards, most interestingly, the report of an aide who recalls that Edwards once calmed his anxious mistress by promising a rooftop marriage with an appearance by the Dave Matthews Band. What a bro!

Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer this world has ever seen. I would like RS to write more about his contributions to the music industry. The media unfairly destroyed his reputation and he deserves to have it restored.

That is all the Media is good for…destroying peoples lives. Litteraly hundreds of pages on the charges against MJ… “1″ sleezy paragraph about his aquital.

I agree. The more I learn of MJ, his work, his philosophy and his humanitarianism, the worse I feel about not having followed him more during his lifetime. His talent, drive and accomplishments can only be dimly grasped and appreciated.

Listening to his songs, and watching his music films, inspires me to demand the best from myself.

That’s right people! Tell it! Chandler and Arvizo, you guys get back on TV . . . get on TV, say it LOUD, say it CLEAR! YOU LIED for money. “For the love of money, I’d die for you, I’d cry for you, even sell your soul to the devil.” . . . Man, the fact that the media can slaughter a person should scare us. I am with you all on this! THE MEDIA SHOULD BE MADE TO RETRACT all the lies! . . . I wish there could be media malpractice called on them. I wish that existed. The fans know the truth. And the new fans, lots of new fans coming to Michael who either before doubted him or just bypassed him. MJ is literally up there in talent with Bach and Beethoven. He’s a master of his art/s. PEACE, MICHAEL. LOVE! YOU WILL LIVE ON FOREVER. Show them, Mike, keep breakin’ those records!
