The Beastie Boys Drop “Hello Nasty” Reissue

9/15/09, 5:41 pm EST

The Beastie Boys’ new album The Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1 was originally scheduled to be released today, September 15th, before Adam “MCA” Yauch’s bout with salivary gland cancer delayed the new LP and canceled their summer tour plans. While a new release date hasn’t yet been announced, apparently the Beasties didn’t want to deprive their fans of music: The NYC trio announced that their year-long reissue project will conclude today, September 15th with the digital re-release of their 1998 album Hello Nasty, featuring the pre-millennial stereo-bumping cuts like “Intergalactic,” “Body Movin’” and “Remote Control.” As with the other reissues, the physical release of the new Hello Nasty on September 22nd will come in a variety of formats, all of which boasts the remastered album itself plus 21 bonus tracks featuring rarities, skits and more.

$21.98 now will get you the digital download, but for an extra $3, you’ll get the double-disc ecopack complete with the download in either high-quality mp3s or FLAC files. There’s also a double vinyl/digital download package and, with a limited run of 1,500 copies and shipping October 30th, a Collector’s Vinyl with four 180 vinyls boasting all the songs, “8 panel gatefold package, lenticular cover, and hardcover ‘coffee table book’ case,” plus the digital download. With any of the packages, throwing in an additional $10 will get you all the Hello Nasty-era music videos with additional audio commentary from the Beasties. There’s also a deal to get a T-shirt. Explore all the Nasty possibilities over at the refurbished Beastie Boys’ official site now.

Love ‘em til death, but there was no need to remaster something that was ‘mastered’ already.

It just seemed as though that it wasn’t that long ago when that album came out & now a reissue? dang, it’s already been 11 years ago. Damn I hate aging older rapidly. :(

I saw them 5 five years ago it was great!!!
viva Beastie boys!!

Gotta stop using the verb “drop” for albums.

It’s tired and confusing.

They need to “drop” this weak effort and get working on something new so I don’t have to watch “Whale Wars” for my radical left wing fix.

An invitation to Sage Francis to appear on their record would be nice. SF is the best MC right now. The Beastie Boys taught him everything he knows, but he is still bad a$$.
I still love Beasties so don’t hate.
