I thought Jay-Z and Alicia’s performance was incredible. I even got chills when the camera was following behind Jay-Z while he walked to the center of the stage. The New York backdrop was breathtaking. But then Lil Mama scuttled up on stage and it literally made me cringe because she made the ending (of what would have been an epic performance) completely awkward. Then she had the nerve to go stand and pose with Jay and Alicia like she has a right to share the moment! Jay-Z needs to start carrying mace with him so he can just spray all these wannabes in the face when they try to soak up his stage time. Jay-Z handled it with class, and Alicia was graceful as always.

After she and he exchange some energy, he says “yeah!” one more time, then rejoins Alicia at the fron of the stage for a final pose, which Lil Mama joins (see photo) and then Jay shakes Alicia’s hand and laughs again. It was the perfect stage crash. She’s an artist and a New Yorker, they’re in NY. It was real nice. Don’t trip, hip hop is known for having huge entourages on the stage during performances. 1. Lil Mama got hyped (like everyone was–that performance was INCREDIBLE!!) and jumped on the stage.
2. Jay-z is like “wtf?” so he’s looking at this little nobody who has the nerve to blemish his performance, then says “so u t-painin’ now, huh?” meaning she’s coming out with that fake, auto-tune music that he’s complaining about in “DOA,” meaning she does NOT DESERVE to be sharing the stage with him.
3. Then Jay shoos her away in a “please, don’t waste my time, get outta here, u joke” fashion.
4. Lil Mama tries to save face by posing next to them so nobody knows she just got PLAYED, but Jay makes the message clear by leaning towards Alicia and not paying Lil Mama any mind… now THAT IS BROOKLYN 4 U.

What would become of a congressman who would walk uninvited onto the podium take the mic from the President and offer his own speach or commentary?
