Kanye West only showed how little he really knows of the music industry. Beyonce didn’t win because her video wasn’t better, but because she doesn’t have as many fans as Taylor Swift, and those fans request her video many times a day, and buy her cd and fill every seat on her shows. MTV needs an audience, and they will do what they want to keep that audience, it’s their award show, they decide you gets attention. Awards don’t go because “you are the coolest rockstar”, but because you are the most profitable one and most of the time goes together with “coolness”. In the end, more than art, it’s how you sell your art that gets attention.

Beyonce showed how smart she is and probably got the award that was going to Kanye West, but gave the spotlight to Taylor, as she had some responsability on the situation and handled it the best way. She probably has thanked the same people everytime to now it was a great moment to show maturity.

Taylor swift sounds like every other generic overproduced “country” music “star”. At least Kanye is honest. Swift represents everything wrong with the music industry. Wheres the rock and roll? While I understand that there are those out there who may agree with Kanye’s OPINION about Beyonce’s video being superior, that’s not what this issue is about. Its about him making his opinion more important than a young girl’s dream in a life-changing moment.
