Rolling Stone at the VMAs: Look Back at Our Best Coverage and Get Ready for 2009’s Big Show

9/11/09, 5:58 pm EST

The Grammys may be the music industry’s official biggest night, but MTV’s Video Music Awards have become the biz’s craziest scene. From eye-popping onstage pairings (Britney and Madonna, anyone?) to Nirvana’s flying bass knockout to an army of Slim Shady look-alikes to Russell Brand’s potty mouth, the VMAs always deliver something worth talking about — and as usual, Rolling Stone will be all over the show Sunday night. We’ll be bringing you a live blog, photos, videos, red-carpet interviews, the scene from inside and more.

So be sure to come back this Sunday, September 13th for all the action, and for now look back at some of the VMAs’ most memorable moments — from all of Britney’s best (and worst) performances to hot photos from last year to a breakdown of who scored the most nominations in ‘09:

I’m Tivo-ing this, just to quickly watch Russell Brand’s monologue, plus Green Day and Muse, and I’d like to see the full Michael Jackson movie trailer.

I should be able to watch all the parts I want, in under 15 minutes.
