• U2 are booked for the first Saturday Night Live of the season, and the show has announced more musical guests: Shakira, Lady Gaga and Regina Spektor Zap2it reports

• Neil Young has canceled his special performance at the Toronto Film Festival, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Young was to play a free outdoor show following Monday’s screening of Jonathan Demme’s The Neil Young Trunk Show.
• Rolling Stone reported that the resurrected Death Row Records would release Chronic-era Dr. Dre outtakes, and now the label says Snoop Doggy Dogg, The Lost Sessions Volume 1 will drop on October 13th.
• Jay-Z and Will Smith are both shelling out big bucks to back the musical Fela about Fela Kuti, AllHipHop reports. The show opens October 19th in New York.
