Steven Tyler Speaks Out About Injury, State of Aerosmith: “We’re One for All, All For One”

“Do I sound fucked up or stoned?” Steven Tyler asks, calling from his home in New Hampshire on Monday. In his first comments to the press, Tyler wants to set the record straight about what happened when he fell off the stage in South Dakota on August 6th — followed by a cancellation of Aerosmith’s summer tour and subsequent reports of band turmoil. “Truth be known, I jumped off the stage on purpose,” he jokes at first. “Figured we hadn’t gotten any new press in so long.” But then Tyler got serious.

How’s your health?
I’ve been better. I’ve got my arm in a sling [from a broken shoulder]. I’m on all the drugs I’m not supposed to be on. But I’m dealing with the pain pretty good.

What happened that night?
I don’t really know. There was a torrential downpour and the guys [at the campground] said, “Look, it’s still slippery.” I watched myself on YouTube, and it could have been my knee buckling or any ankle. The last thing I remember before I hit the ground was people grabbing for me, but they couldn’t reach me because of the barricade. At any other Aerosmith show I probably would’ve been caught and thrown back onto the stage — naked and without jewelry [laughs]. I stood up and couldn’t raise my arm and knew I’d broken something.

Were you sober?
As sober as you can be.

Care to comment on that clip on TMZ of you in a liquor store?
Oh, Jesus Christ. A good friend of mine and Joe’s — the brother of the guy who works on my house, my housekeeper — passed away. I was at the funeral. And after the funeral, they’re Italian and had a feast at the house, a wake, and I stopped at the liquor store and paid for the booze. I did not buy any for myself. It was never proven that I did. Some kid whipped out a phone and took a picture. Anything to sell papers. It was for the wake. I would do it over and over a million times.

How do you look back at Aerosmith’s cursed summer tour?
Every once in a while we gotta be human [laughs] and get Joe’s knee or Brad’s head or whatever done. I’m Italian and I don’t believe in talking about my bandmates. I’m just so pissed it was such a great tour. I had to ruin it all by falling and I’m sorry. I’ve said that to the fans and my band and everybody else. I fucked up. I get in the zone when I’m onstage. I don’t really have to explain anything. I love what I do. The world knows what I do. And I only hope they forgive me for having to cancel such a fucking awesome tour.

How do you respond to reports of dissent within the band?
Someone is leaking stuff, pretending to know, and you know, I don’t even care. Has the band done things to me where I’ve wanted to quit? Positively. But I’ve stuck in there for the sake of a few sounds we got. I respect the power this band has in and of itself regardless of who says what.

When did you last speak with the other guys?
Two days ago. Shit’s good. I’m not the leader. No one’s the leader, we’re just one for all, all for one. It’s probably why we’ve never quit. No one’s got enough money! We split it evenly.

But you have signed with a different management company than the band, and you’re working on a solo album.
I would imagine … I can’t tell you for sure, but I think there’s a little animosity that I went with another management agency. Which is for me to know and you to find out. I’m certainly not in outs with the guys. But look, I do what I do. The easiest thing in the world is to say he’s drunk or stoned. But what are you gonna do?

He’s stoned but not drunk

Steve | 8/25/2009, 1:39 pm EST

Stick to watching your daughter in movies your getting old Tyler, hang it up.

Anonymous | 8/25/2009, 1:40 pm EST

He’s drunk but not stoned. haha.

Anonymous | 8/25/2009, 1:41 pm EST

Going with different management and having a solo effort coming out right now is a bit of a dick move, don’t you think?

Boner | 8/25/2009, 1:44 pm EST

…and Italian.

LOL | 8/25/2009, 1:49 pm EST

He’s stoned….for sure.

AeroLogic | 8/25/2009, 1:56 pm EST

Why dump on the guy for a solo LP? Joe Perry’s done it more than once (recently), and Whitford/St Holmes anyone?… He isn’t Aerosmith, just part of Aerosmith… Let the man shine a minute… His solo take on I Love Trash is a classic in camp

Jeff | 8/25/2009, 2:01 pm EST

Stoned, drunk, and lying. Sad.

dave cherone | 8/25/2009, 2:06 pm EST

“Going with different management and having a solo effort coming out right now is a bit of a dick move, don’t you think?”

No I do not think that. There’s gotta be a reason other than “dick move”. Band business, especially on this level, is complicated. It’s not the first time band mates have different representation.

And what if he wants to make a solo record? what’s the big deal? Is Joe Perry a dick for having a side band?

mickersss | 8/25/2009, 2:09 pm EST

somebody really needs to tell him he looks like ruth bader ginsburg. holy sweet Jesus, tyler is a caricature now. pathetic.

Ambule | 8/25/2009, 2:15 pm EST

..And you care if he´s drunk/stoned why?

Deb | 8/25/2009, 2:17 pm EST

I guess by some of the comments on here there are people out there who are hating because their bands probably never got off of the ground, and Mr. Tyler is STILL rocking after all these years, and doing it very well I might add! Get a life folks, and appreciate the band for what it’s worth!

stevenlvr | 8/25/2009, 2:24 pm EST

why do you even read the article if you are against steven and aerosmith. he told us the truth and feels bad for the tour being cancelled. i love him and i will stand by him forever.

bvllets | 8/25/2009, 2:26 pm EST

Aerosmith is the worst band in the history of music. We can only pray they break up.

Meecho Meecho | 8/25/2009, 2:31 pm EST

I hear Steven Tyler cancelled the tour so he can do some commercials for Depends undergarments because when he was on tour he couldn’t help crap his pants.

Chris | 8/25/2009, 2:41 pm EST

it was all downhill after ROCKS

Percy "Thrlls" Thrillington | 8/25/2009, 2:47 pm EST

He’s stunk and droned! I only pray this doesn’t rob the world of a “Honkin’ On Bobo” sequel (fingers crossed!).

heathen2002 | 8/25/2009, 2:57 pm EST

The only thing he’s “rocking” is a chair..

navymom67 | 8/25/2009, 3:18 pm EST

Geez, the guy gave it to you straight and honest & for some reason, all of you still find a reason to attack him. Thanks, Steven for sharing your side of the story. May some of your fans learn to live with the fact that you are human and sometimes shit happens that’s unplanned, unwarranted and ends up cancelling a tour. I lost out on a show in Chicago and I paid a ticket agent for good seats like I always have for my Aerosmith shows. So I lost out on the difference of face value tickets and what I paid. I should be pissed but I’m not. I’m grateful for this band and this Steven Tyler guy for existing. He’s by far, one the most accommodating, kindhearted and caring individuals to his fans and makes time for all of us. So regardless of the bad picture, the moron who videotaped you in the liquor store and the bad press, it is nice to see that you still have maintained your kindness instead of really showing your Italian heritage and pummeling the morons who continue to tell you you’re too old, too stoned, too drunk or whatever!!! I wanna see you when you’re their ages and be able to do what they do just to keep a bunch of fans happy and content. Get better, Steven and your true fans will be there when you get back to rocking once again!!!

Shelley | 8/25/2009, 3:31 pm EST

I wish Steven the best with his upcoming surgery and recovery. He is very fortunate that his injuries weren’t worse than they are.

It was an accident. One of those things that happen in life that you can’t explain.

Best wishes Steven. Hope you are back on stage soon.

Donna | 8/25/2009, 3:44 pm EST

Why so many haters?
I just saw Aerosmith right before the accident and let me tell you, none of them are ready to hang it up.
They all rocked for 2 hours straight!
So what if Stephen and Joe are doing projects on their own. They deserve to show off their individual talents, which both have many.

Craig | 8/25/2009, 3:48 pm EST

Who Cares what he was and who are we to judge. Can you say you have never been smelling that smell. NO But what is more important is why he changed companies and what is this new record going to sound like.

Sad I couldn’t see you in St. Paul
get better soon

Faithful fan here

Vanessa | 8/25/2009, 4:00 pm EST

I have been a Aerosmith fan since 1973, I live in Prague. When I am asked what has come out of The States that is amazing, the first thing that pops in my head is Aerosmith. Hands down the best rock band, bar none!

meady | 8/25/2009, 4:07 pm EST

tyler is a legend. I just hope all the rumours of bad blood bring the band closer together and produce a kick ass comeback that will be the best yet. If you can’t appreciate their talent you have no clue.

tylerstwit | 8/25/2009, 4:28 pm EST

Rock on Steven. You’re the best!

Like the Beatles, only lame | 8/25/2009, 4:43 pm EST

Isn’t The Beatles having two managers (one for McCartney, one for the other 3) one of the main factors the recent RS cites as being a reason the band broke up?

jim wheeler | 8/25/2009, 4:53 pm EST

A friend of my son is suffering a terminal disease-cancer of the liver-this person came from Japan for the Aug 15 concert in vancouver and found it cancelled-he’s back home in japan with very little time to live-is anyone able to contact Mr. Steven tyler to see if he could spare 5 minutes to talk to this young man by phone-it was his dream to see a live concert and now with little time left he is running out of luck-a call from mr. Tyler would be an incredible gift-if anybody is in contact with Steve tyler to see if he would be willing to call-please e-mail me at jimwheel77 @hotmail.com for Mr. Eiji (Sammy) Kondo’s personal information-thank you to anyone that could arrange this. Bye for now-jw

Dude | 8/25/2009, 5:15 pm EST

Steve Tyler is one of the greatest frontmen to ever grace a stage. he gets stronger as the night goes on. Compare him now to the 70’s Steven Tyler, there is no comparison.

Troof | 8/25/2009, 5:39 pm EST

His comments sound like the comments of a junkie.

pump | 8/25/2009, 5:39 pm EST

not enough money?Your ticket prices are’nt exactly the cheapest.Oh also try to not be so bitter steven.

saltlick | 8/25/2009, 5:59 pm EST

Keep on rockin’ Steven.Get well soon.Your fans all love you guys.

tellem | 8/25/2009, 6:00 pm EST

He aint got nothing on soldiaboy tellum. Soldiaboy sold way mor erecords than areosmith. Superman is better than anything that areosmiths have evar even though about. He needs to stop all the hatin on soldiaboy and worry about his hip or whatever he broke when he fell off the stage at that wack fack rap concert!

yupyup | 8/25/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Most of the commentators on this thread better be stoned or drunk. I shudder to think they are naturally this stupid.

mrkwvu3 | 8/25/2009, 6:40 pm EST

just come back 2 cincy, steven we missed u ,u will be back n saddle again .hang in there prayin 4 ya,almost heaven baby

flank | 8/25/2009, 6:44 pm EST

Didn’t Tyler say he would never make a solo album?
The last thing we need is a whole album of songs like I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.
That should’ve been a solo track.
He tarnished Aerosmith’s name with that track.
Aerosmith may be America’s greatest band. Or it may be REM. I don’t know.

Kelly Foxx | 8/25/2009, 6:47 pm EST

All these commenter ripping on Steven make me sick. You guys are fucked up and don’t know what you’re talking about. Aerosmith is very well the most talented band of their time, and I don’t give a shit if you disagree. Have some fucking respect

hang up the boots! | 8/25/2009, 7:22 pm EST

It’s sad to watch these old-man bands pottering along with their canes and prescription drug trunks, still trying to hook the eye of each young girl even as they’re pissing all over the place and falling off the stage, pathetic, grotesque even! I agree with most people here; time to hang up the boots!

HOl | 8/25/2009, 7:35 pm EST

Lot of jealously here from non-fans
and idiots

Tony rockin' in Toronto | 8/25/2009, 7:41 pm EST

I’ve seen about 20 Aerosmith concerts in Toronto, Canada and let me make this perfectly clear: NOT ONE OF THOSE CONCERTS WAS BAD. Each one was awesome and the subsequent concerts kept getting better than the previous ones. Trust me, they’ve still got it. Oh and by the way, each band member is very supportive of a wide range of charitable organizations (really, not just fake support B.S. support like some celebs), which is more than I can say for most famous rockers. AEROSMITH will be back. They are simply the best American rock band of all time and among the top four rock bands of all time (alphabetical order): AC/DC, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stone. AMEN.

zappa>god | 8/25/2009, 8:09 pm EST

I definitely don’t think these guys should be thinking about retirement any time soon. I saw them 2 years ago and they rocked harder than any twenty-something band I’ve ever seen. 60 IS the new 40 after all.

Ryan | 8/25/2009, 8:13 pm EST

phish is better

Kammie | 8/25/2009, 8:22 pm EST

Some People need to get a life. If you do not like the band WHY are you reading this article!!! Let them ALL be. For us fans they are special and we WILL continue to enjoy them for a long time to come!

AerosmithFans.com | 8/25/2009, 8:42 pm EST

The opening statement says so much. Typical words from an addict in active addiction. Nice try at a CYA press release but sorry Steven you need help.

EK | 8/25/2009, 8:58 pm EST

I say rock on if you still got it in ya…….I wonder where/what Britney Spears, The Jonas Brothers, Lady GaGa will be doing when they’re 61…..?!!?!? It’s incredible what overprocessing and digitalization can do for someone’s mediocre voice! I say keep rockin’ Steven….get well. It could happen to a 25 year old just as easily……..Les Paul is a perfect example of an incredibly talented inventor/genius and guitarist….still “rockin” at 94 a short time before his death……

Justin | 8/25/2009, 10:03 pm EST

I saw aerosmith in 2003 with kiss and it was the best show i ever saw. They still rock even harder today than in 1974 so they are not gonna stop anytime soon.I hope

Mary | 8/25/2009, 10:09 pm EST

My first Aerosmith show was in San Francisco in 1977, I was 18. My brother took me and I’ve been a follower of this band ever since. They DO keep getting better, always putting on a major production during their shows. They are the ultimate rock showmen. Thank you guys for all the great music all these years.Keep it coming!!! My brother unfortunately passed away at the young age of 52 last year, but I’ll always have him to thank for leaving me with my love of music, my love of Aerosmith. Get better Steven & Tom and come back stronger than ever!

My first Aerosmith show was in San Francisco in 1977, I was 18. My brother took me and it was the first time in my life that I knew what REAL rock & roll was supposed to be. They have only gotten better over the years, their shows not merely a concert but a production. They are true rock showmen. Sadly I lost my brother recently at 52 and I’ll always have that memory of our first Aerosmith concert. Thanks to this awesome rockin band for all the great music over all these years. Get well Steven & Tom and come back stronger than ever!

BlackRose*Mi. | 8/26/2009, 7:03 am EST

I have been a die hard Aerosmith fan since 1974,and have yet to see a band who puts on a show with soo much high ENERGY!! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting all the guys and they are all down to earth and realize without us fans there would be no Aerosmith!!! They are HUMAN and humans make mistakes and accidents happen to them just like it could happen to any of us. Itis sad Steven got hurt fallin off the stage..shit happens and I’m sure iy wasn’t cuz he was stoned(Been there years ago,saw that) I’m just glad he didn’t hurt himself worse.
And if he has to take pain meds for the pain, I hope he is strong enough not to get too wrapped up with them,I know from experence it is way to easy to do.And Steven sang it himself..History repeats itself, lets just hope the drugs and his lastest girlfriend Erin, don,t repeat too much of that history! To me, she seeems more of a danger too Steven AND the band, than any drug could be. I,ll always be a fan,but have to say I have lost ALOT of respect for Steven because of her!!And it is in the back of my head, wondering how much she may be the reason why things are happening the way they are ie, Steven gettin new manager, charging utragous ticket prices to hear the Same ol Song and dance instead of gettin back in the studio and finishing that new CD that should of been ou awhile ago (could she be the cause of tension anong the other guysas it seems she is ALWAYS wrapped around Steven! Not to mention how IMMATURE she is,picking a fight with a fan at the Hard Rock GROW THE HELL UP PLEASE orbetter yet GO AWAY and let STEVEN and the BOYS do what they do best, put on a GREAT show, have fun and Rock&Roll!!
I hope you get better in all ways Steven..Love ya XOXOXO

BlackRose*Mi | 8/26/2009, 7:17 am EST

Sorry for all the spelling errors, had an insomnia night..Getting older can suck at times!!lol

FLASH | 8/26/2009, 7:55 am EST

They made the best records when they were all drunk and stoned. Toys in the Attic, Rocks, Draw the Line are their 3 classic albums

Mark | 8/26/2009, 9:47 am EST

Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. I’ve been a fan since I was 17 I’m now 52. Right before the accident I stood outside in 104 degree heat to watch them for about the 10th time they still kick ass. If you don’t like them don’t be here. Get better soon Steven. Listening to Aerosmith has gotten me through some difficult times. I look forward to the new cd and next tour..Rock on….

FATIMA | 8/26/2009, 10:07 am EST

Every man can get into accident.Friends, you can have a different attitude to Steven but why you INSULT him? I listen AEROSMITH’s music about 23 years & don’t see reason for giving it up.As for STEVEN- he is the most handsome, cutiest & joliest man on Earth. He’s beyond the unpleasant things here are written! STEVEN!!! THE NORTH OSSETIA FUNS wish you soon recover

lastchild | 8/26/2009, 10:56 am EST

Saw Aerosmith & ZZ in Vegas a week before Steven falling off of the stage. Show was AWESOME, as all of the other times I have seen them. If you are not a fan, why are your reading and commenting on this article. Because you have nothing else to do obviously than give your ignorant opinion on subjects you could care less about just to get excitement out of others. Get a life, get a job, or better yet go get drunk or stoned! If Steven was drunk or stoned, is it your problem! Don’t like him, don’t buy a ticket. Think the tickets are too expensive, keep you cheap ass home!

Red Peter | 8/26/2009, 11:31 am EST

I am a fan and Steven is back on the junk.

lastchild | 8/26/2009, 11:38 am EST

Saw Aerosmith and ZZ Top in Vegas a week before the Sturgis show. They were just as AWESOME as the many times I had seen them in the past.To those of you posting negative comments about Steven and the band you have the right to your opinion just as much as I do.So here is my opinion. If you don’t like Steven or Aerosmith why are you reading this article. Get a life, get a job, read and comment about someting you like or care about. You are just doing it for lack of anything positive to do with your time. If you don’t like the band don’t listen to the music. If you think the ticket prices are too high keep your cheap ass home.To Aerosmith, get well soon Steven and I hope to see you again when you get back out on tour again.

Blak | 8/26/2009, 11:39 am EST

Tyler and the boys are super talented, and they are arguably my favorite all time band; up to and including ‘Done With Mirrors’. Anything after that? Awful commercial crap, there is no arguing it. A poster said it correctly above, they (sadly) made all their best music while out of their minds on drugs and alcohol.

lastchild | 8/26/2009, 11:48 am EST

And how many other bands have made most of their music while stoned and out of their minds. Not saying it’s a good thing, just saying it’s life.

lastchild | 8/26/2009, 11:55 am EST

Sorry for the two similar postings. Internet connection crapped out, had to start over :)

RYAN | 8/26/2009, 12:04 pm EST

Look screw everone else on here
Aerosmith is legend along with many other bands.
It doesnt matter if they are using or not just please keep the music alive….

No One | 8/26/2009, 2:18 pm EST

He said it himself: “I’m on all the drugs I’m not supposed to be on.” And, “As sober as you can be.” Read between the lines people!

patty | 8/26/2009, 2:52 pm EST

stop picking out lines from different sentence meanings and tried to lump them together. He said he was sober during the show and he`s on the drugs he`s not supposed to be on because of the fall…they weren`t at the same time.

patty | 8/26/2009, 2:54 pm EST

lastchild:i was at the vegas venue as well and i agree. the concert kicked ass!! i see them every 2 years or so and i always walk away high on the music!

bunec | 8/26/2009, 3:05 pm EST

Walk this way……..ahhhhhhhhh boink, ummm maybe not!

Dorie | 8/26/2009, 4:37 pm EST

Who cares if he is or is not sober. That’s his business and his family.
I see them every few years and am always blown away. I see a lot of conserts Aerosmith is one of the best. Those of you who say Aerosmith isn’t good should see a show. Steven is fab.

mark | 8/26/2009, 7:32 pm EST

Nobody puts on a better show period. New punk ass bands suck ass

Stylercrazy | 8/26/2009, 7:46 pm EST

It doesn’t matter what anyone says on here really. Steven may be one of the “older” entertainers but he has more stamina and charisma then tons of the “new” bands and can rock like only the Demon of Screamin can! I have been a devoted fan for years and nothing will change that. Are you perfect? No.. I don’t think so. Now onward……….

Kammie | 8/26/2009, 9:02 pm EST

Saw the guys in June ‘09 – They Were GREAT! They gave so much of themselves at that show. Looking forward to when everyone is better and they tour again. Met them 2 years ago and they could not have been any nicer. Real good guys.
I can not wait to meet them again!!!

brandon W | 8/26/2009, 9:07 pm EST

They need to take drugs again! their best stuff was when they were getting high. let them burn some weed jeez! They have done mostly ballads since getting straight.

Linda | 8/26/2009, 10:25 pm EST

Have been a fan of Aerosmith since I was a teen and went to my first concert in 1976. They were awesome then, and I will always be a fan of theirs. Steven rocks and still has more energy than half the so-called “entertainers” out there now that are half his age! He wants to give his audience his all! Get well, Mr. Tyler!

Dave | 8/27/2009, 12:31 am EST

I live in New Hampshire, about 10 minutes from Steven’s house. He’s one hell of a great guy. Ignore anyone who says Steven is an egomaniac. He’s actually one of the most down to earth guys you could ever meet. Joe Perry, on the other hand….

Neal | 8/27/2009, 4:17 am EST

Don’t ya think that if he was “fucked up” there would be more footage of a “f’d up Steven Tyler” around??

Think about it… cameras are everywhere! And if this guy was partying like he used to, it’d be more obvious I think.

Same 5 guys in same band for 20+ years?? I’d be on some shit too.

Amazing accomplishment to have endured all these years.

You HAVE to admit that.

dig

Maybe now is a good time for the band to write some tunes that suit their age. Songs about laying young chicks just sound stupid coming from sixty year-olds. Hear me AC/DC?

NanBoleyn | 8/28/2009, 12:57 am EST

I’ve met the band and they are all the most down to Earth guys you could ever want to meet. Joe is AMAZING!!! If Steven wasn’t in such good shape (they train HARD for the shows) he would have gotten hurt much worse. Love to the band and get your hot asses back on the road ASAP!

Worst show ever. | 8/28/2009, 1:45 am EST

I’ve only had the displeasure of seeing Aerosmith once, and it was memorable only because it was the worst show I’ve ever been to. They stamped and mailed it…at least that night.

Here’s to their sobriety though. Their clean-up act probably saved a lot of musicians, and I’ll forgive them a lazy show in exchange, any day of the week.

Duchess | 8/28/2009, 9:18 am EST

Steven is hot, talented and amazing with people-He’s such a great guy. I’ll always love him! Seems like all this ragging on him is coming from GUYS anyway…….ROCK ON STEVEN!!!

JU | 8/28/2009, 10:58 am EST

To all of the Aerosmith fans out there.I am with you people all the way.To all of you Aerosmith haters out there.SHOW SOME RESPECT.These guys have been rockin’ for about 40 years.I’ve seen Aerosmith several times and they were great!! I wish them all the best.

Mike | 8/28/2009, 5:29 pm EST

Screw quitting. Go with your boots on!

ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!! | 8/31/2009, 12:59 pm EST

Aerosmith did their best music while Steve and Co. were phucked up!!!!!!

Glad he’s getting some doctor approved ‘relief’ from the pain.

Heal up and keep going Steve. We’ll be waiting!

Eunice | 8/31/2009, 5:56 pm EST

Aerosmith, next tour, please start on West Coast, as the last three tours, yes three tours you messed with original dates, with postpoing or cancelling all together. DUDES IT HAS GOTTEN F^&*(NG Old. Tired of spending good money on you and then you mess it up somehow. Maybe if you cancelled and postponed on the East coast the way you have on West Coast, they may be just as fed up with you as I am and know I am not the only one. How many shows have other big bands like the Stones, AC/DC etc have had the problems you have every tour.
Get off the junk and sauce, clean up or give it up! Otherwise more fans are gonna get fed up like I have and won’t waste their hard earned money on you. Was a fan back in the 70’s when you were strung out then. Older now and wiser.

MadMax | 8/31/2009, 6:25 pm EST

How old are all these fucking people? Thay are an AMERICAN ROCK BAND!!! Jesus! Cut Em’ some slack.

TOM SMITH | 8/31/2009, 7:32 pm EST

Aerosmith still kicks ass and they’re sober-as both a musician and a recovering addict myself they have my 150% respect. Steven, Joe, Brad, Tom, and Joey-rock on!

SHEilA | 8/31/2009, 8:42 pm EST

What do all the other bands HAVE TO DO WITH IT? Aerosmith will never be a MOSS gathering rolling stone. Can’t anyone besides myself see that they are AERODYNAMIC like they were, are now and forever will be in ALL the FUTURE?
Steven Tyler isn’t stoned nor drunk. He took care of that long before you self-crazed, jealous, fools ever thought of doing. You are so out of your MINDS (if you know what a mind is or have one). I wish you well Steven. I had insomina for two years, and you guessed it. I listened to Aerosmith day and night.

SHEilA | 8/31/2009, 8:59 pm EST

Meecho Meecho and Heathen made very rude comments. Heathen will be changing Meecho Meecho’s DEPENDS when he is in a “ROCKING” chair.

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 1:25 pm EST

Steven…..I am Aeroarcheologistsmith…..I have been DIGGING you forever. Keep rocking my world. Get well real soon. The world can’t afford to lose that AMAZING voice that you blessed so many people with.
That said, I have another comment:
Heathen, Troof and Meecho Meecho really need to get an ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT…..’cause they’re not getting anything else!!!! And for all of you out there Steven Tyler is NOT a FALLEN ANGEL.
Would like to give my comments to you Steven in person.

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 5:36 pm EST

Steven,at least I hope you get to read my comments. I know you are a very busy individual, and maybe someone else reads them and doesn’t give them to you. Let’s get between the lines and see if anyone else knows how to read, let alone READ BETWEEN THE LINES. I can

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 6:07 pm EST

Hey ye out there…CRITICIZE this one. Steven, get well soon, ’cause if you don’t I’ll do anything (more than once) Just to make you feel better.
Let’s see your moves on stage again…..I’m waiting.

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 6:23 pm EST

Steven Tyler doesn’t have to answer to any of us for the way he lives his life. Can any of ye say that you are as honest as him? Oh by the way, ye are all getting sick of SHEilA….too bad. Someone has to be truthful enough to tell ye like it is. The glass is ALWAYS half full. Steven get well, and live a long happy and healthy life.

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 6:38 pm EST

Here I am again…At least I don’t reeepeat myself.
Steven may have had a fall from the stage…….but, he was NO ACCIDENT when his Mom had him. What joy he has given her. Steven, I can’t comment enough on wishing you well.

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 7:08 pm EST

Once again, but not the last time I make a comment.

So what if Steven Tyler dressed up as an old lady. For you guys out there…..Did’t your older sisters dress you up as little girls when you weren’t even old enough to know what a woman looked like? As for you who would like to be as virile as he, maybe you are not brimming over with anythig. AND, he is brimming over with more than sex. Take a look at his gracefulness in all that he lets us SEE. Remember..He lives his life as he see fit. Steven, when you are all better, stay well, and COME ON UP AND SEE ME SOMETIME.,

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 7:32 pm EST

Just personally for you SVT and I know there are lots of losers out there don’t even know what those three most wonderful letters in the alphabet stand for or even know their meaning. It doesn’t take a genius (like my natural ability) to figure it out. Maybe they don’t know their ABC’s until they get to that S. Steven,, you are the WINNER!!! And winner takes all. Be strong and you will be well in no time.XX the best you will ever get.

SHEilA | 9/1/2009, 7:43 pm EST

It must have been off topic. Sorry, it won’t happen again.
Steven although you are still recuperating, you are the winner and winner takes all

Jessie | 9/1/2009, 10:03 pm EST

It’s already been confirmed that the stage was wet (outdoor venue, folks) and that Mr. Tyler lost his footing. This can (and does) happen to a lot of musicians who play outdoor arenas in inclement weather. Clearly, it was an unfortunate accident. Give the guy a break, for the love of God…lol..Just because someone is famous, doesn’t make them any less human…

Bret | 9/1/2009, 11:00 pm EST

I saw these guys in Vegas in July and I can only hope to be active as Steven (He acts 20 still, gets everyone up and jumping). They kicked Ass took names and left me wanting more.

AstroBoy | 9/3/2009, 12:57 am EST

Get Well Soon …

SHEilA | 9/4/2009, 12:15 am EST

When everyone else is out of comments, I will still be around because this girl breathes FIRE.
Steven, I wish you all the best in your RECOVERY. My prayers are with you, just like they have been since before I was a child, boy.
Get back in the saddle cause you are the leader of the pack and make no wonder…..YOU ARE THE FIRST sign of the ZODIAC. Be well and be good to yourself.

SHEilA | 9/4/2009, 12:50 am EST

All my best wishes to you Steven on travelling on the short road to recovery. Not more of the comments (except mine) made much sense, especially from the ones who are so jealous of you, they don’t know if they are punched or bored. I there’s more than one thing on my mind. “THEY CAN ALL GO CHASE THEMSELVES”

Aerobaby | 9/4/2009, 2:54 am EST

This generation has no music heros how can anyone pretend to know (stoned not stoned) what a truly magiacal experiene Aerosmithl live is and will always be. Steven get well and hurry back.

SHEilA | 9/4/2009, 8:49 pm EST

Bvllets: Where have your ears been for the last 30 years + ?
Aerosmith will never breakup. They have WHAT IT TAKES to keep everyone jumping for joy. I guess you can’t do that. And for the record, you had better find a church that will let you cross their doorstep if you’re praying for Aerosmith to breakup. You’ll be on your hands and knees begging Aerosmith to “FORGIVE” you. Take it like a man (or are you a woman?)
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, and it would take a lot more than you and your comments to accomplish that. You should be wishing Steven a speedy recovery.
All the best to Steven and get your whole body in swing again. oxxo
xoox

jacks teller | 9/7/2009, 3:59 pm EST

Yo sheila, chill. and maybe get a job, somethin to occupy the free time.

SHEilA | 9/7/2009, 9:02 pm EST

jacks teller: Why did’nt you wish Steven Tyler well instead of yo-chilling on me. I have a great job and I still find time to wish steven all the best in his recovery. A job isn’t work if you like it. Sounds like you either don’t have one or you really despise You must be living in a hell of hatred. My time isn’t free especially to you. I would’nt give you the steam off my piss. Deposit that to the bank teller!!!!

SHEilA | 9/8/2009, 1:20 am EST

Frehley Fox,
Since you are only 22 it certainly seems like you would take your top off for Steven Tyler, and probably for some other guy. NO WAY TO LAND A GUY!!! Myself, I COULD TAKE IT (ALL OFF) and I wouldn’t be STREAKING. Come out of your cocoon live like a buttefly,
“” BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE”"” Also, I didn’t see anything in your comment that Wished Steven Well. Shame, shame on you. A topless blouse (shirt) just won’t get the attention you so boldly advertize.

jacks teller | 9/8/2009, 3:32 pm EST

Im thinking sheila is steven tyler in disguise. do you like, still run the aerosmith fan club? guess so. im just saying, its borderline obsessive what you are doing. oh and btw, i still get nautious when i hear “don’t wanna miss a thing” his solo effort will be a riot. tyler is in it for the dough!

SHEilA | 9/8/2009, 7:15 pm EST

jacks teller: If you are so annoyed with my comments, why do you read them and even reply. And it is amazing the you can think. YO must be the only word in the English or any other language that you know how to pronounce. As a matter of fact, I am and do. It’s great being someone you obviously can’t stand. Is your job paying as much as Steven Tylers? Maybe not. And for the record……Steven loves what he does and all his fans love him, so why not get the “dough” when it keeps rolling in. Take care Jacks teller….I hope your life works out for you and you will be able to stuff your mattress with lots of dough cause that is what you will “KNEAD” especially if you are working in a bakery or a pizza parlour. I hope your brain gets better soon, then maybe you will be accepted in play school. Enough of you. Don’t waste STEVEN TYLER’S precious time.

STEVEN I hope your shoulder feels better, and every other part of you. You know, that jacks teller should have more respect for you. He is full of nasty comments.

SHEilA | 9/8/2009, 9:32 pm EST

jacks teller:
I am ending our relationship. Please do not comment on my comments again. That’s what it takes. You are probably jummping in your glory, now that we won’t be getting on each others nerves.
Take the time to GROW some ROSES, cause you’ve been a thorn in my side. Goodbye and have a good life tormenting someone else. This is the last comment I will make to you. Please do me the courtsey and refrain from making more comments to me. Steven Tyler is alive and grateful for all the good wishes. Get better Steven

SHEilA | 9/9/2009, 11:21 pm EST

Steven Tyler had a fall, but he still has SUMMER, WINTER and SPRING. He is like a beautiful flowing waterfall—-a lion in the mountainous wilderness, and he certainly still has SPRING in his step and dancing skills. Steven although most people call it FALL, but, it is still an Indian Summer to me. Get up, shake your feathers, and show ‘em what it’s all about. Getting yo better is on my to do list. Maybe I’m Florence Nightingale reincarnated, ’cause I sure would like too take care of you..not more beggin’ and pleadin’.

laniebainey | 9/19/2009, 7:36 am EST

and the only thing you can do is “to thine own self be true..” feel better.

Audrey | 9/22/2009, 4:39 am EST

I have been a die-hard Aerosmtih fan for over 23 years now. As much as I adore them I’m sad to say that there is so much more to the story here. I don’t feel that Steven is being 100 percent truthful about what went on; which is the reason why he and Joe haven’t spoken in over 5 weeks. All I can say is that I hope the band is able to put their differences aside and give us one more amazing tour.

NH Redneck | 9/24/2009, 6:52 pm EST

Standing by ST does not equate to ignoring the obvious. You can love him and his music and still realize he is obviously “having some diffuculty”.

Boston Jon | 9/25/2009, 12:29 am EST

I hope he’s stoned.. they sucked once they got sober…

tony petres | 9/27/2009, 2:50 am EST

Anyone notice ZZ just kept right on rockin’ and lashed together a solo tour that even played back in Boston (sans Aerosmith)? Now that’s some rock and roll talent and mojo!!! Drive on, Tres Hombres!!! Nothing like the ‘ol Texas Lightning.

Paula Stanga | 9/27/2009, 8:30 pm EST

Let me start off by saying that Steven Tyler is the best entertainer this world has ever known! Ive been going to Aero shows for 23 yrs. i watched him perform time and time again. I saw Aerosmith in June right before his accident and they were awesome! He’s not stoned, he’s not druck and he’s not lying. When Joe perry had knee surgery they didnt tour for the longest time, then he had to have surgery again but now Steven gets hurt and he’s being ridiculed. Hell no!!! Thats not right. I will always be a true Aero fan and Steven Tyler will be back in the saddle again! All my love to you Steven, you da best!!

Harry Regina | 9/28/2009, 7:42 pm EST

Hey Steven, I’ve been a fan of yours since 1977 when my brother, who is into classical music, handed me a copy of ‘Toys in the Attic’ at Record Theatre and told me to buy it — The music drove my mom nuts :)
Just wanted to say that ‘Rock in a Hard Place’ is better than all 3 of Joe Perry’s Solo Records Combined + Whithford St. Homes –
thus proving that you are true Heart and Soul of Aerosmith –
So hope you heal up — good luck to you and the rest of the band.

BettyBoopster | 10/2/2009, 6:15 am EST

MY EVERLASTING LOVE TO MY BABY DOLL STEVEN!! I HAVE BEEN INFATUATED WITH YOU FOR 26 YEARS!! GET WELL SOON!!

SHEilA | 10/3/2009, 4:37 pm EST

BettyBoopster
Infatuated!!!! NOPE—You can’t see through the blue.

Anita | 10/4/2009, 6:06 pm EST

Hope you will be well soon. Sorry about the bad publicity. I haven’t seen you since 1977. Hope you tour again soon and can make it to Cowtown. Best wishes.

Ann Brown | 10/5/2009, 1:03 pm EST

Well i think too many people are just to dam busy watching theses guys no wonder they drink all you salkers are crazy leave people to there space and live

Oy Vey | 10/7/2009, 11:21 pm EST

These pop/rock/music people are all the same… they get famous… they start to think they are little gods… thier egos get the best of them… Is the music good?… love Aerosmith (mostly early)… Do they need the money? F no!… They love the drug called attention… here we are back at that ego thing again….

tay | 10/15/2009, 3:31 pm EST

he probably was drunk or stoned but he says he wasn’t and me being the obsessed fan that i am, i’m going to have to believe him. and he’s not too old to rock, your NEVER too old for that!!!

ctl | 10/17/2009, 6:29 pm EST

Aerosmith will never die, infact I think there will be another incarnation of Aerosmith. After these guys came back from oblivion in the 90s they worked their asses off for 15 years, they needed the last 5 years off to rest and live their lives. Tyler is expert song writer and has more hit songs left to give. Not only that look at the band, none of them are anything without each other. I loved the Joe Pery Project, but from a music point of view it was very average.

perleyman | 11/5/2009, 8:19 am EST

I just wonder why all you haters bother to comment on something you obviously have no love for. It’s what’s wrong with your whole (I don’t give a shit about anything but myself generation). Hard work? Fuck No,Not Me. You shitheads want everything fucking handed to you on a silver platter like it’s fucking owed to your lazy impudent asses. I suggest you take a long hard look at your brothers and sister who are serving their country. At least they stand for something.Love ya Steven L.L.R.

L Cloyed | 11/10/2009, 9:08 pm EST

From a guy that was on the road one forth of the time these guys have been – - – your not old – - but you are beat to hell.
So the guy is back on drugs – -
Perhaps he is tired of the whole thing – -
or perhaps – - Tyler is fed up with Joe and his cry baby crap. Not many can – - not the stones – - not the Who – - not the Gunners – - but Aerosmith is Tyler – - – perhaps, just perhaps – - – Tyler is ready to do it on his own. Do the concerts his own way – - write the songs he wants – - – perform the songs he wants – - – - and get ready everyone – - – fill the stadium by himself.
I am with all of you – - – I don’t like it – - – but McCartney fills the stadiums – - amd so will Tyler. Bye Joe – -

stinky | 11/10/2009, 11:55 pm EST

It’s his life & his career. If he gets back with Aerosmith and they make more music, I’ll be happy. If he decides to hang it up or go solo, I’ll be less happy. Ultimately he’s got to do his own thing and our opinion is irrelevant. Cut the guy some slack.

JOEY IN SOUTH CAROLINA | 11/11/2009, 4:44 pm EST

I HAD TICKETS TO SEE THEM IN DAY AFTER TYLER GOT HURT. WAS FELT BAD FOR THE MAN I WISH IT HAD NOT HAPPENED.THINGS DO HAPPEN WHEN YOU GET OLDER THAT IS JUST A SAD PART OF LIFE.

Ragu | 11/12/2009, 12:08 pm EST

Aerosmith hasn’t put out a decent album in 20 years anyway. Hang it up boys, your time is over.

Anonymous | 11/16/2009, 8:05 am EST

shame on you fly by nite fans~ this band has given us thier best thru thick and thin because they care about us. so you all are gonna bale on them? i am very sure this will blow over and all will be well. i for one will never give up on the amazing music and talent i have enjoyed all these years. show some loyalty for rock and roll!

wizard05 | 11/18/2009, 6:06 pm EST

Give these guys a break. They ARE the greatest American rock band ever. Yeah, they’re old, but they don’t suck like the stones, Who, etc. They are having “musical differences” for real. Have any of you ever played in a band? This stuff happens to everybodoy who does, it just gets more coverage if you’re famous. I personally agree with Joe on the direction, but Steven is a fantastic musician (perfect pitch and all), so I think they’ll work things out. They kick ass live, when they show up.

t diddy | 11/19/2009, 1:40 am EST

rolling stones and aerosmith are still good performers.

tbone | 11/19/2009, 12:44 pm EST

just stay with the band, already! look at the shit Jagger/Richards did solo…

demon within 78 | 11/21/2009, 6:50 pm EST

growing up 50 miles north of boston aerosmith was the band.
but they havent been that band in like a really long time.
DEATH COMES SWEETLY
they should just go away!!
