Adam Lambert’s “Sexy” November Debut Stocked With Surprises

8/10/09, 5:31 pm EST

The American Idols Live tour is in full swing, but Adam Lambert still has one eye on his debut album, due in November via AI’s 19 Recordings through a licensing deal with RCA. When Lambert stopped by the RS offices last week to discuss Paula Abdul’s departure from Idol, he stayed tight-lipped about any possible song names, lyrics or the album title — “Nope, can’t tell you yet — it’s all a surprise,” he says — but stressed that assembling the album quickly is only adding to its intensity.

Go behind the scenes at Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone cover shoot.

“We did a surprising amount of work before the tour started, we had about a month,” he says. “I got a lot of co-writing done, some great initial vocal material recorded, and just general collaborations with different producers.” His list of collaborators has grown to include OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder (Kelly Clarkson, Beyoncé), along with Lady Gaga producer RedOne, Linda Perry, Greg Wells and Sam Sparro. His only promises: “a lot of surprises” and “it’s going to feel really sexy.” (Watch Lambert talk about his first album in our video interview, above.)

On tour, Lambert reports his David Bowie medley of “Life on Mars,” “Fame” and “Let’s Dance” is “going over really well, and I have a blast doing it.” Fans are clearly having a good time too — the list of objects thrown at Lambert has grown from bras to light S&M gear, he reports. So what should fans do to get his attention? “Just clap and scream and have a good time,” he says. “It’s not about you guys getting my attention, it’s about you living your life in a positive way. If you feel sexy when you hear a song, just be sexy and feel gorgeous. You don’t need to throw a bra in my face to let me know that you feel sexy, though it cracks me up.”

Offstage, Lambert is currently listening to Muse’s new single “Uprising” (”It’s very glam rock and very cool”) as well as the new LPs by Kasabian and Peaches, and the latest from IAMX, one of the former singers from the Sneaker Pimps: “This recent one is gorgeous, it’s just epic and the production’s great, his melodies are awesome.”

Look back at Lambert’s early years, in photos.

After after a month on the road with the Idols tour, Lambert says he has definitely learned a few things that’ll come in handy down the line. “When you dance and move around it creates a different reaction from the audience — they love it,” he says. “And getting a sense of interaction with them, I love that. It’s like a trial run, a test audience for things to come. I would love to do a live show with dancers and fashion and scenic elements — definitely bring my love of the theater to a concert-style performance.”

” I would love to do a live show with dancers and fashion and scenic elements — definitely bring my love of the theater to a concert-style performance.” — YES YES YES and we can’t wait to see it!

MM | 8/10/2009, 5:56 pm EST

Sounds great and I cannot wait!

Cate | 8/10/2009, 6:05 pm EST

Adam – my 2 cents: a great theatrically inspired live show sounds so amazing, but PLEASE, don’t do a male Brittany Spears, think more Ziggy Stardust – you don’t need dancers around. That’s for Brittany and others who, let’s face it, can’t sing like you can.

hotdatrot | 8/10/2009, 6:07 pm EST

bring the SEXY! we are ready!

Wheee | 8/10/2009, 6:08 pm EST

I cannot wait! It sounds so exciting!

Janelle | 8/10/2009, 6:13 pm EST

Trish | 8/10/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Dorena | 8/10/2009, 6:18 pm EST

Yes please Adam – I can’t wait!

LuvYaAdam | 8/10/2009, 6:18 pm EST

Count me in for front row seats once his solo tour begins. His performance on the AI tour (saw him in Atlantic City and Newark) was amazing. His jacket is the coolest, especially when he spins and the tails fly. Then off it goes, to reveal an even sexier Adam in a vest dancing and strutting his stuff across the stage to Bowie. He is such a superstar. Love, love, love him!

AdamFan9000 | 8/10/2009, 6:19 pm EST

Oh no – full on stage show PLEASE!!! Bring on the dancing boys! And girls too of course. Think Madonna’s Truth or Dare staging – fantastic. And Adam you so know you can do it.
We love your pretty voice, we love your hot hot moves, we love your crazy looks on speed – give us the fashion show asap! We Are Ready.

Kay | 8/10/2009, 6:20 pm EST

November can’t come quickly enough.

Sarah | 8/10/2009, 6:22 pm EST

Besides being an amazing performer and singer, Adam’s also got a real good taste in music. I know his “19 Recordings /RCA” album will be a bomb, no doubt!
Can’t wait for this AI tour to end and for Adam to continue working on his album.
THE LOVE FOR ADAM WILL NEVER END!

Erin | 8/10/2009, 6:31 pm EST

Oh…*goes to download all the music he talked about*

He is such a fascinating guy. I really hope his album lives up to the hype around it. It’s about time for another sexy album!

TexasBear | 8/10/2009, 6:46 pm EST

The greatest artists like Pat Boone and John Denver didn’t need all these antics to hold an audience! If Lambert’s so “fierce” why doesn’t he just stand there and sing like the Real American Idol, Kris Allen? Is he that afraid? Kris’s sales are going to kick Adam’s bedazzled backside.

nagelchick | 8/10/2009, 6:46 pm EST

we love you Adam–looking forward to your CD and your first solo tour–you are awesome and so articulate–also –can’t wait to see you on the “big screen”-you have the face and tlaent for movies

jordana | 8/10/2009, 6:47 pm EST

Adam,AI producers went too far planning almost a show per day for so long!!! keep on drinking your green shake, yoga is great!!!fuel yourself with good things cause this tour is soooo demanding..you have to be healthy for the amazing life you have ahead of you…

Grannie | 8/10/2009, 6:49 pm EST

Oh what a joyful announcement indeed! He reminds me of a young Fred Astaire. When I saw him on that singing show, i was as moist as a sponge in the deep blue sea!

nagelchick | 8/10/2009, 6:50 pm EST

“texasbear” why would you waste your time reading an article about Adam if you don’t like him??? nothing better to do than hate? BTW–check out whose Itunes album is still in the top 100 popcharts??and never has fallen below 50–guess who isn’t there??

sidewalkstory | 8/10/2009, 6:51 pm EST

I saw his show Sat. in Newark. That’s right, HIS show. It was so amazing I came back Sunday.

LambertsLabelle | 8/10/2009, 6:53 pm EST

I m sooo glad he s thetralic..LOL..His Solotour will be a firework!!!!!
cant wait to break completely free..he still let us just peep a little bit on A.I.-Tour..Its just a taste of what we can expect from him.
An amazing allround-artist!

looselips | 8/10/2009, 6:58 pm EST

we want SEXY!!!! I know he can deliver! One of the best singers and performers in years!

green eyed lady | 8/10/2009, 6:59 pm EST

Oh, honey, you have us all on the edge of our seats… Can’t wait for the album!
Adam has been one surprise after another, so his album should be quite something else.
*checks calendar* Dang, it’s still only August!

Suzanne | 8/10/2009, 6:59 pm EST

Oh my gosh: who in this world could compare Adam’s performances to Pat Boone or John Denver. Good grief! Where do you live, TexasBear? Must be away from civilization. That was a whole different era and style. Definitely not what anyone wants to hear today. Adam’s gonna’ kill us with his upcoming album. I’m 62 and lovin’ every inch of his gorgeous self. The voice is out of this world–the stage presence is the cherry on top of the sundae. Love that boy! He’ll be around for a long, long time.

Amanda | 8/10/2009, 7:02 pm EST

Aww, how can I love him so much?? How can he be adorable, sexy, cute, funny, well spoken and articulate at the same time? I want his album right now, how am I gonna wait months for it?

U r doing amazing on tour Adam, swesome beyond words!

Love u RS!! Thank u for this interview and all the other Adam interviews!

Denise | 8/10/2009, 7:07 pm EST

November, change in the weather.. DON’T worry big guy – we will all be there for you..

sheree | 8/10/2009, 7:08 pm EST

I’m ~really~ looking forward to Adam’s new music and his solo concerts. He’s an incredible talent! Rock on, Adam :)

fi85 | 8/10/2009, 7:20 pm EST

oh adam

kaaketu | 8/10/2009, 7:23 pm EST

Adam is bringing sexy back!!! I just can’t wait for your album and your own tour! You are such a breath of fresh air – so articulate and such delight to look at. Your singing is out of this world adamazing!!!

a fan | 8/10/2009, 7:34 pm EST

re record: as long as they remember it’s about his voice, and don’t over-produce/homogenize the heck out of it like they did for the Idol singles. The bit produced for the FlashForward promo showed potential.

re concerts: this would be the best, hearing him live – just hope it doesn’t turn into a singing Chippendales show. Agree with those who said go Bowie, not Brittany. Yikes.

YR | 8/10/2009, 7:42 pm EST

Yup, he gets what we want and he will kick all our senses into overdrive! CAN’T WAIT!!

Yonkroob | 8/10/2009, 8:01 pm EST

Oh Adam, you love men.

Carry | 8/10/2009, 8:03 pm EST

TexasBear Hummm, I’m embarrassed to even say I’m also from Texas. Pat Boone. OMFG, you got to be kidding. He was the most boring guy ever. I liked John Denver, but he dad a major voice. Kris is a good guy, but his voice is just not there. I wish him the best. And BTW, Adam can just stand/sit there and sing!! Where have you been..lol. In a concert performance, you want to be entertained. If I wanted to just hear a voice, I could listen to a CD. I think Barry Manilow does a great job combining both. He’s had a remarkable career that continues. His show is very theatrical, glitzy and lots of fun. Yes, I know it’s old fashioned, but you can’t argue with success and longetivity.

Anonymous | 8/10/2009, 8:03 pm EST

I personally like Adam AND I like Kris…

But I do not need all the dumb gimmicks when I see a show…

Just give me good music, and a good voice, and leave the other bullshit behind!

Melinda | 8/10/2009, 8:07 pm EST

To konkroob — that’s too narrow. He loves all of us fans — he said it himself. When we are enjoying his music and enjoying ourselves … he is thrilled.

More Adam!! More Music! Thank you Rolling Stone for all the coverage you can provide :)

Kate | 8/10/2009, 8:09 pm EST

After watching the video’s of the AI tour it would be so fabulous to see Adam do his own tour. I hope he will continue to dance when he goes solo.

While I am not a fan of Brittany I do hope that Adam has someone on stage to interact with–why not dancers during part of the show? The Allison and Adam “Slow Ride” is so great but it’s now been done.

I did enjoy the video Adam did with a bunch of girl dancers on Youtube. (I can’t remember the song.) But he wears day-glow orange pants and dances. This is before AI. OMG!

I say, go for it! His voice is so amazing so, no matter what he is doing while he is singing it’s just a cherry on top!

cayman | 8/10/2009, 8:13 pm EST

Can hardly wait for AI tour to be over with, I saw him in Arizona and Adam’s time on stage was waaaay too short, wish he was on the whole three hours!!!!! Can hardly wait for his album and his show, make that his albums and his shows, many years of hearing and seeing Adam is what we want!!!! Thank you RS for info on Adam.

Holly | 8/10/2009, 8:19 pm EST

You know, as much as I adore him in everything he says & does, I am most continually impressed by his nearly flawless taste in music.
Four for you, Adam.

suebrody | 8/10/2009, 8:27 pm EST

I get to see Adam next Tuesday in Boston. I cannot wait, but I am much more excited for THE ADAM LAMBERT EXPERIENCE GLOBAL TOUR (that’s what I’m calling it, anyway). He is so damned talented, every review is positive, and he just gets better and sexier. Adam, the world is yours…grab it!

Anonymous | 8/10/2009, 8:29 pm EST

TexasBear, he doesn’t just stand there and sing because everybody does that. He wants to entertain in an exciting different way. You probably eat the same thing every week for dinner, and wear the same clothes you’ve had for 20 years. But some of us LOVE variety, and Adam certainly provides that in an exhilarating, sexy way. Can’t wait to go to his solo tour! He’s amazingly talented!

kelly | 8/10/2009, 8:38 pm EST

I am not a great fan of his dancing. rather he rock it instead.

Olivia | 8/10/2009, 8:39 pm EST

Adam is amazing…….I just CAN’T WAIT to see him live!!! His solo tour is going to be SPECTACULAR!!!!! Can’t wait, Can’t wait………CAN’T WAIT!!!!! Adam, release that album already!!!!! November is sooooooo far away! :(

kelly | 8/10/2009, 8:41 pm EST

he is not a dancer. liked him best doing things like what he did with Kiss

Janet | 8/10/2009, 8:45 pm EST

Can’t wait for Adam’s C.D. to come out, I’ve sooooo missed hearing him sing, looking forward when I can see him doing his own cocert tour, can’t read enough of Adam Lambert.

AdoringAdam | 8/10/2009, 9:19 pm EST

Adam’s record will be just in time for Christmas. Everybody in my family is getting one.

Jo | 8/10/2009, 9:19 pm EST

Thank you RS for loving our boy!! I can’t wait for your solo tours. Bring on the fashion and theater and your wonderfully sexy moves and most of all that wonderfully sexy voice.

meo | 8/10/2009, 9:29 pm EST

Can’t wait for the album,I need listen to the sexy

Islasands | 8/10/2009, 9:36 pm EST

Texasbear, It’s a stab in Kris Allen’s back when he’s viewed as still being in “competition” with Adam Lambert. You do him no favours. Adam is clearly in a league of his own. This only casts a shadow on Kris’ considerable gifts as a musician and songsmith when fans try to make out that Kris is a comparable artist. He’s not. He’s completely different.Let Kris shine in his own light. People love that light, just as they love Adam’s.

shar | 8/10/2009, 9:39 pm EST

I love him for loving Muse. I was hoping he heard their new song. It’s awesome.

nicknick | 8/10/2009, 10:08 pm EST

I love Adam! Adam’s voice is crystal clear and amazing. He is an awesome performer, everyone else pales in comparison to him on that Idol Tour! Kris is just an average singer (and on that Killer song, he sounded just plain awful).Plus, he’s boring (no stage presence at all). Matt is a pretty good piano player; I’d take his voice easily over Kris’s. But I could listen to Adam Lambert singing forever! I can’t wait for his SOLO Tour!!!

#1 ADAM ALMBERT FAN | 8/10/2009, 10:36 pm EST

ADAMM IS AWESOME I LOVE HIS VOICE HE SHOULD’VE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Myla | 8/10/2009, 11:02 pm EST

@TexasBear – Adam Lambert has his own way of performing and Kris Allen has his own way. As Adam says, if you don’t like sexy, go buy that other guys music. But you’re missing out on one fabulous singer/performer if you keep your mind closed. Open it a little bit, you just might enjoy Adam’s music just like all his fans do.

carrie | 8/10/2009, 11:34 pm EST

I can’t wait for Adam’s album. I saw him performed twice in concert and he was great! I love him as a singer, performer, and more importantly, as a person.

Cindy | 8/11/2009, 12:06 am EST

Yes, if you’re going to dance, then you should go all out and make the most of it, with scenery, great choreography, back-up dancers, and all the glitters. After all, you do know how to move. But, you are also an awesome, natural rocker that no one can touch these days. Your rocker sense is right on and can move hearts and mountains. And I hope you don’t lose that side of you and keep on rocking. I am so hopeful and very much looking forward to your new music and your future career to soar.

Mona | 8/11/2009, 12:09 am EST

OMG, who is this guy TexasBear? Have you been living in the woods? My daughter and I saw Adam at the AI concert and everyone, from little kids to people in their 60’s were on their feet screaming when Adam came out! The audience did not react that way for any of the others, not even Kris. Adam is a mature, intelligent gentleman. He doesn’t let the BS get to him. He handles everything with grace and class, which is more than I can say for some people. If you don’t like him, that’s you’re problem, and making negative comments just shows how childish you are. Adam just won a Teen Choice Award, he’s singing a song for the upcoming movie 2012, his version of Mad World is in a commercial for “Flashforward” and his CD comes out in November. Not bad for the guy who came in second. Now, what are the other Idols names again?

Elvis | 8/11/2009, 12:11 am EST

You guys are HILARIOUS! I am NOT an Adam fan ~ and you asked someone else WHY they came here to read this article if they were not an Adam fan? Just to LAUGH! It’s too funny! I’d like to see what you people look like too! Guys like Adam are a dime a dozen if you know where to look! DOWN, GIRL, DOWN!!! CONTROL YOURSELF! Adam’s not interested!!!

Elvis | 8/11/2009, 12:11 am EST

LolaGlamb | 8/11/2009, 12:21 am EST

Just with the little dancing Adam did during Idol, I thought he moved so well, and really wanted to see him dance more. Then I saw the Bowie Medley, and though it took me a concert or two to get the feel of it, now I love it and it’s my favorite in his set.For those who say he should just stand there and sing, or that he’s too sexual, well, as Adam said, go buy someone elses’ album. Why would Adam just stand there and sing, when it obviously was his total performance abilities that made him stand out so much on Idol?

I agree with previous comments about his great taste in music, and his unerring ability to pick the perfect songs. So I trust that will carry over to his album. He’s never disappointed me yet.

Oh you rubes | 8/11/2009, 12:47 am EST

OK, you rubes watch AI, I even watch the first few shows to see the hilarious embarassments make fools of themselves. But people, people, people ! For godsakes don’t go out like lemmings and buy CD’s or go to concerts from the winners ! What are you thinking ? The music is utter crap, produced and written by cynical bizzers trying to seperate you from your $$$. Every AI contestant who has put out a CD has dropped a load of horrid &*$%. And Lambert ! Jeeeeeezzzzzzz. Ah, girls, um, feel bad breaking it to all these women slobbering over him, but er………..he’s a Friend of Dorothy ! Wake up ! His CD will be like all the other AI CD’s, over-produced, songs written by hacks because they can’t write their own songs, music written by others because they don’t write their own music……they’re stealing your money from you….you walk like hypnotized zombies to buy junk that the TV told you to buy. For godsakes ! Wake up !

coooooool | 8/11/2009, 12:47 am EST

can’t wait
adam never disappoint us!!!!!!!!!!!

Hot Pavement | 8/11/2009, 12:59 am EST

Really love hearing Adam Lambert and at his Az concert when he danced to his set that was awesome! I would love to see him do some dancing like he did in his “Crazy” video on the internet. The man has some serious moves. I can see him doing singing, dancing and in costumes for his music videos and I can’t wait. I can’t wait for his album to come out in Nov either. This guy is hot and I hope he walks away with all 3 Teen Choice Awards as well.

Chance | 8/11/2009, 1:01 am EST

If Adam Lambert got all lean and muscular with the six pack abs and did a photo shot with a fabulous hot body he’d have everyone go nuts! I mean then he would be the total package. So Adam look at Ryan Renolds and start pumping iron!

She Bop | 8/11/2009, 1:10 am EST

Adam’s fans seem to be 93.7 % forty something virgin females. It’s an interesting psychology, he’s absolutely harmless so these women can take the lid off of their dusty sexuality. Someone needs to write a book about this odd psychology.

What up | 8/11/2009, 1:12 am EST

Ya know? I loved Adam on AI. I’ve watched his performances on You Tube from the tour. I’m not diggin’ the live, over the top Girlie moves he’s doing. If any women had any fantasies about their ability to woo him to the other side. By now they should be convinced that it will never happen. Way too feminine. I know he likes boys and I could care less but I still like my Gays a little more on the butch side. I enjoyed his performance on GMA though. I could actually understand what he was singing. Still, the man can S-I-N-G and that is why I’ll buy his cd. Probably won’t go to see him in concert though. Kind of disturbing.

bridgette | 8/11/2009, 1:15 am EST

Texasbear you lost me when you said John Denver and Pat Boone were great artist. I am hoping you don’t think Kris is going to fall into the folksinger genre. As for Adam, if your waiting on him to become like Kris, your going to have a long wait. There are plenty of guys like Kris who stand there and sing the same songs over and over again, Adam don’t need to join that carbon copy parade of smiling, generic popstars.

Fun with Stats | 8/11/2009, 1:17 am EST

Looking at the commenters names, they’re 100 % female, lol.

Cindy | 8/11/2009, 1:29 am EST

You Elvis and “Oh you rubes” can go laugh somewhere else. You both are frustrated pathetic losers who want to rain on other peoples parade. Get off your high horses and get a life!

Mona | 8/11/2009, 1:30 am EST

I’m so glad that you find Adam fans so entertaining. What do you do in your spare time, poke babies with needles or kick your old grandmother and laugh? Seriously dude, get a life! No one here is taking life quite as seriously as you are. We’re just here to watch someone we enjoy, put on a good show, and listen to his music. If you don’t like it, go find something more interesting to do with yourself. How sad are you that you have to either laugh at, criticize, or make fun of people spending their money the way they chose to. You only deserve my pity. I’m enjoying every second of watching everything Adam does and unfortunately for you, your comments aren’t going to change the way I think.

Yes ! | 8/11/2009, 1:31 am EST

Lambert is the most beautiful female contestant to ever win AI !!

tj | 8/11/2009, 1:38 am EST

wow so many jealous homophobe comments fro m a lot of insecure little men. you are laughable

dang | 8/11/2009, 1:39 am EST

Whoever photographed this goof in front of a Pete Townshend pic should be demoted to answering phone calls at RS. It’s like having Lindsay Lohan standing in front of a pic of Meryl Streep !

prgemgirl | 8/11/2009, 1:50 am EST

Adam is an amazing singer and performer!!!!!! I’m so glad there’s You tube that enables fans here in Asia to watch his awesome Tour performances. I agree with “A Fan.” I hope his album focuses on his exceptional voice and not overprocess/electronicize the songs.

jadedeyes | 8/11/2009, 2:00 am EST

Mediocre talent, prima donna drama queen that got a lucky stab at fifteen minutes of disposable pop fame. I’m sure he’s cute and cuddly but the the annoyances set in almost immediately and he really has nothing more to offer than any other pop hack milking corporate owned music.

Holly | 8/11/2009, 2:20 am EST

Thank you RS for the video and the article. Adam looked so good in the video. Can’t wait for Adam’s debut album and his solo tour!

Angel | 8/11/2009, 3:46 am EST

ADAM is a high voltage consummate total performer and entertainer. He excites and electrifies. When he slows down, he seduces and mesmerizes. He personifies passion and intensity likewise he is a magnet to fans who are the same – passionate and intense.
I like to be blown away into stratosphere. That only ADAM can do. Apples or oranges? No. It’s a fire cracker or the BOMB!
I don’t begrudge those who differ. As Adam said, go buy the other guy’s CD while we scream at Adam’s concert!

Janica | 8/11/2009, 6:34 am EST

Thank you, I can’t wait to see what music his future album holds. One thing I am sure, with his immense talent I will enjoy it and I think his future music will be fresh, too. Not karaoke at all plus not the same bland music everyone is producing these days. In radio everyone blends, boring boring. Adam is not going to be boring, I think he is going to challenge me and my musical taste. Can’t wait! Thank you for this small article. And thank you for RS cover, amazing work!

Lila36 | 8/11/2009, 6:37 am EST

I loved Adam’s Starlight cover in GMA morning show. Acoustic and amazing. I hope to see something similar in his future album, at least one song. His voice is stunning!

Groundhog | 8/11/2009, 6:43 am EST

Lovely video, can’t wait to see album. DON’T MISS THE END, Adam comes back after RS logo. Never change Adam! I love his humour, he doesn’t take himself too seriously either

Jenn | 8/11/2009, 11:11 am EST

The critics on here are 99% guys sounding really jealous that women can be so taken with a gay male. We know he is gay and we love him!! He is mega talented, super gorgeous and totally hot!!! Guys try listening to his his music before you slam him – Adam Rocks! Now he even has some of the best music producers around working with him on his CD. Are you aware that AI has produces 3 grammy winners and countless platnium albums? Go Adam!! You rock our world.

Linda | 8/11/2009, 11:18 am EST

Thanks RS for keeping us updated on Adam! Why does November have to be sooooo far away? I heard he hopes to drop a single in October. THat will be great!

adamaddict | 8/11/2009, 11:31 am EST

THANK YOU Rolling Stone for feeding our Adam addiction. Don’t stop! Adam is the greatest. An ICON for our century. Hot, sexy, out of this world talented, charismatic, gorgeous, (did I say sexy?), funny, sweet, honest, a gift from God. Really. Just love him.

adamaddict | 8/11/2009, 11:37 am EST

One thing to add to last post…just a suggestion adam, like you with bangs, not the combed back…sorry to be picky! You rock in the bangs :)

ianaleah | 8/11/2009, 12:05 pm EST

Adam is always so articulate in interviews. Besides his enormous creatibity, he is clearly an intelligent person,it’s so fascinating to discover more about this young man.

RGM | 8/11/2009, 12:16 pm EST

What I love about Adam as a performer is his ANDROGYNY. Tall, masculine frame, chiseled features, handsome face and devilish blue eyes on the masculine side, octave range of his voice is pure androgyny, his fashion style, ventures into hair and make-up, his slithery, undulating moves on stage definitely more on the feminine side. To bring the masculine and feminine together in one person is exciting. I think many people are afraid of that. I can’t wait for Adam to break loose from Idol and give us a super sexy, glam rocker, theatrical show, with Adam singing his own music. Bring it on Adam! I’ll be there for you!!!!

Lambertika | 8/11/2009, 12:52 pm EST

In response to all the women over forty and virgins….I’m 57 years old…married for 37 years…have a fabulous sex life and I think Adam is absolutely the hottest thing out there. It’s all about Sexy is sexy!! He is so unapologetic about who he is, confident in his ability to give the audience what they want, has a natural born vocal gift and knows how to use it, and a gorgeous body that moves in tune with his sexuality. GOT TO LOVE IT!!!! Let me just say this, my husband doesn’t appreciate Adam (yet) but he is very happy that I do.

Regina | 8/11/2009, 2:14 pm EST

Yeah!!

thanks for feeding my Adamadiction!!

can´t helped.. sorry

Rose | 8/11/2009, 2:54 pm EST

I can’t wait for Adam’s new cd in Nov. I seen Adam’s AI show in Tampa and his set was fantastic, and way too short. Such a talented young performer, who will definitely be a super-STAR.

Linda | 8/11/2009, 3:11 pm EST

Let’s face it – ADAM HAS AMAZING TALENT – I do agree with What Up, I don’t like the David Bowie medley he is doing, too feminine. If he is following Bowie’s career path, he will not sustain himself for long in the music industry. Bowie was just average. The songs don’t show off his great vocals. Adam has the ability to become A HUGE STAR, IF HE PICKS ONLY HUGE AMAZING SONGS THAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE CAN RELATE TO. SONGS THAT PULL ON OUR HEART STRINGS – COME ON ADAM, YOU CAN DO IT – WHERE ARE THE GREAT MANAGERS?? LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON’S MANAGER AND OTHERS LIKE HIM. Also, Starlight is not a great song – sorry Adam don’t love it and the band Muse, no one has even heard of before. START SINGING SOME AMAZING SONGS, PLEASE OR YOU WILL BE FORGETTABLE FAST!

sadiesam | 8/11/2009, 3:16 pm EST

elvis–the only reason you and the other “haters” are here to read this article is that you have no life and you are so consumed by envy–what do we look like??? What do you look like??? climb back under your rock–you are scaring all the beautiful people on this site:)

Marise | 8/11/2009, 3:21 pm EST

ADAM is a complete package!

Dystenie | 8/11/2009, 4:08 pm EST

I did not like the way he sang the Bowie at AI concert. He was so gay. I wish he will not dress as drag queen later because it will ruin his career. I do like Adam a lot and I hope he will stay to dress descent.

Baggem | 8/11/2009, 4:15 pm EST

Music is subjective. If you don’t care for something, pass on it…no biggie. But it’s pretty freakin’ infantile to insult others for liking what they like, doncha think?

Sheyla | 8/11/2009, 4:17 pm EST

I agree with Linda. I don’t like the David Bowie medley either. Actually, I don’t like David Bowie. Adam, you are an amazing talent, please make sure your own music will be something the public wants to hear today. And electrifying. I can’t wait for your album to come out!!!

hubers6 | 8/11/2009, 4:29 pm EST

“David Bowie is just average”.
“…and the band Muse, no one has heard of before.”

Huh!?!?!

RoRo | 8/11/2009, 4:36 pm EST

Totally sexy! LOVED him in Dallas, thanks Adam, for a great time at the concert. Looking forward to this first album release, and a future tour. Give me MORE ADAM!!!

uh..who is "j"? | 8/11/2009, 4:39 pm EST

I can’t wait to see Adam in September…not a huge fan of the Bowie Medley either – not cuz Adam doesn’t do a good job..I just don’t care for it but as long as Adam sings it’s all Good!!! LOVE YOU ADAM

Elise | 8/11/2009, 4:45 pm EST

Sorry Linda- Just because you’ve never heard of Muse does not mean that no one else has. Muse are a huge band and have a large following in many places outside of the US. Just because they’re not mainstream here doesn’t mean that no one knows them, or that they aren’t good.

tabitha | 8/11/2009, 4:56 pm EST

I love ADAM, Bowie and Muse. Mr. L.could sing the alphabet song and it would be amazing. Thanks RS for recognizing this amazing talent from the very beginning. I love all of your Adam articles.

if u don’t know who’s adam lambert u must be living underground or in an other galaxy!!! DAMN HE’S THE HOTTEST MAN ALIVE ( i believe so lool) !!!! I DO BELIEVE that even aliens do know him ( if they really exist!!) but i bet you’ll be a die hard fan after his first album released and you’ll definitly strangle yourself when you’ll think about this dumb sentence : ” who’s ADAM LAMBERT?”

dang | 8/11/2009, 5:24 pm EST

I guess even soccer-moms need someone to idolize……..

Panic in Detroit | 8/11/2009, 5:31 pm EST

Funny how the soccer moms on here don’t like Bowie when this goof is mining a comeback of Glam to hang his hat on. I imagine most of the “moms” have Neil Diamond playing in their air conditioned SUV’s , or they’re humming along to the Mylie Cyrus CD their kids insist on playing. Bowie to them is way to exotic and decadent in their minds. Queen and Slash like him ! LOLLLLL. Can you say has-beens ? Like Clay Aiken this fool is mom and grandmom music, at least we’ve come far enough along as a culture that middle america is now accepting of a gay male icon, that’s something anyway.

Elvis | 8/11/2009, 5:47 pm EST

Hey man….this boy…this boys kinda an untalented, Jewish, gay version of me mannnnn……Thank you very much !

More stats | 8/11/2009, 5:49 pm EST

And still 100 % female commenters ! Lol. Why am I not surprised middle aged women have bad taste in music ?

Bridget | 8/11/2009, 6:38 pm EST

Oh, good – more Adam. Saw him with the idols in Tampa, but 20 minutes is not enough. I can’t wait to buy/hear his music, and I hope he continues to do just what he wants, what he likes, what moves/interests him. Seems to be working pretty well so far.

OKKKKK | 8/11/2009, 6:55 pm EST

Ok, I gave in and finally watched this guy on youtube after never seeing him or hearing him, it was the AI Tour – First of all he’s LYPSYNCING ! “Singers” who lypsync live in concert should never be allowed to perform again. Secondly his voice is very very average, he’s like a more cabaret, less talented Freddie Mercury. It’s obvious his whole act is visual, cavorting around the stage in an embarassing “rock star” get up of black leather, wiggling his chubby butt to the screams of women who have no clue about what’s good music. He’s a cartoon version of a “rock star”, someone Disney Mom’s think of as “exotic”, lol. Hilarious.

Eileen | 8/11/2009, 7:18 pm EST

I find Adam to be very masculine. He isn’t an effeminate gay man — I think that’s why he appeals to women. Gorgeous face and eyes, hot body (look at those buff arms in the vest!), broad shoulders. He’s just out of this world. And I find the Bowie Medley to be insanely creative and drop-dead sexy!! Anybody with me on that??!! I know some of you must be, judging from the screams on youtube!

jenny | 8/11/2009, 7:28 pm EST

RS thanks for the video I always love to hear what Adam has to say. I can’t wait for the cd and we are already planning to fight for front row for his solo tour. Please keep the interviews coming. I loved the end. I wonder where the bra I threw in Tampa is now?

JJ | 8/11/2009, 8:37 pm EST

Adam simply rocks!
I love whatever he sings.

Mirella | 8/11/2009, 8:42 pm EST

I was in Newark NJ to see the Idol tour, but it should of been called the Adam Lambert tour. It was amazing how the whole Prudential Center came to their feet when Adam came out and stayed on their feet till Kris came out and everyone sat down again. What does that tell you? Adam I’m a straight woman married for 29 years and I don’t care what you are. More power to you. My Family and I love you. Can’t wait for your cd coming out in November a beautiful Birthday present for me. I want to be the president of your Fan Club. I also can not wait for your concert. I WILL be in the front row. Thank You and stay true to yourself.

Bowie probably enjoys the plugs. He deserves them. Don’t think he’s ever going to appear on AI though, unless he’s dressed as Maggie Thatcher

Bowie must enjoy the plugs; he deserves them. But I don’t think he’s ever going to appear on AI, unless he’s in Maggie Thatcher garb

“Careful now–you never know where your bras are gonna end up!”

Very nice, Adam! I love you!

Melanie | 8/11/2009, 9:47 pm EST

Yikes–what’s with the negative stuff about Muse and Bowie?! They both are awesome, awesome talents! I love Matt Bellamy…talk about haunting vocals! And Bowie is just crazy glam and amazing fun! Keep it up Adam!

Adam's Girl | 8/11/2009, 10:46 pm EST

I Love you Adam!! Scream – throws bra – throws jock strap – faints. I love you!! Kiss, Kiss!! Ok phew!! I got that out of my system. But seriously, I LOVE YOU ADAM!!! Ok, I digressed, have you seen Crawl Thru Fire!!

Yikes | 8/11/2009, 10:54 pm EST

What’s with all these women “loving” a gay man ? You all need a good round of therapy.

Leah | 8/12/2009, 4:10 am EST

uh, if adam only appeals to “soccer moms” i guess that’s why he just won a teen choice award. he appeals to everyone of all ages all over the world, but i expect a lot of people are jealous of that.

Yikes | 8/12/2009, 7:22 am EST

Well Leah he appeals to pre-teens and soccer moms, where his harmless sexuality works magic on both groups. Boy bands and teen idols have always had the market on the pre-pubescent crowd, acts like the Jonas Brothers wholesome dullness doesn’t scare young girls. And soccer moms who don’t have a clue about music find him exotic, a nice break from their safe lives of PTA meetings and giving rides to the mall. All in all pre-teen girls and soccer moms are probably groups number one and two in having the worst taste in music. And the commenters are still 100 % female on here, I imagine if a man was caught blasting Adam Lambert in his car he’d be kicked out of the man club instantly, lol.

Fembot3000 | 8/12/2009, 7:34 am EST

This guy is so effiminate he makes Rupaul look like John Wayne !

Pelican | 8/12/2009, 2:53 pm EST

I still don’t understand why it matters what his sexual preference is. Why is it an issue? Do you ask everyone what they do in their bedrooms? Who cares! I don’t ask any of my friends if they are heterosexual or homosexual. I don’t care! As far a Adam’s talent is concerned, he is an amazing artist. He has more promise and excitement than any other artist that I have ever seen. I look forward to his first CD and the many others that will follow. I saw the Idol tour, and it was just as I thought it would be. Adam was in a league of his own. He was a single star amongst amateur talent. I await his tour and will be the first in line to buy tickets.

Brooke | 8/12/2009, 3:31 pm EST

@Adam’s Girl, OMG I’ve seen the Crawl Thru The Fire video on youtube, let me just say that is the hottest music performance I have ever seen lol.

Shania | 8/12/2009, 5:28 pm EST

Adam Lambert Kicks ASS!

sorry | 8/12/2009, 5:44 pm EST

This kid and this CD is destined to be a huge failure. Not that he is not talented, but the pressure and hype that is put on him is going to be unsurmountable. RS hails this like it will be the greatest thing ever, and when it comes out and is anything less than revolutionary, then he will be labeled a flop.

tabitha | 8/12/2009, 6:46 pm EST

haters and homophobes please step to the left, you are jealous and uninformed. Do a little research before you spout ignorance. Adam has already been recognized by some of the greats (Slash and Brian May]. There are many real men who adore Adam. I am married to one of them. Real men are not threatened because they are secure within themselves. Kris is an example of a real man. Adam can sing and his fans will be there to support him even if the first CD is not stellar. I believe it will be because great singers like Adam can sing anything. Keep on hating on Adam, it only serves to strengthen our support for him. Even the haters and homophobes can’t get enough of our glittery alien:)

Reggiebluejay | 8/12/2009, 7:32 pm EST

I am stunned at some of the ageism in these postings. I guess it’s fun to mock soccer moms and over-forty year olds when you’re young and you feel immortal, but, guess what? Unless you die first, you too will be over forty some day, and your petty, narrow-minded attitudes will come back and bite you in the ass. You may think sarcastic comments about forty-plus “virgins” are very witty, but they serve only to demonstrate your immaturity and superficiality. I’m a forty-something woman, and I think Adam is mesmerizing. Not because he is “safe” but because he is confident and centered. Arguably his AI performances have been “safe” (AI is a very conservative show) but his pre-AI shows (see Zodiac show in particular)were anything but. Anyway, you don’t have to like Adam, but it isn’t necessary to abuse those of us who do.

Jenn | 8/12/2009, 8:01 pm EST

I can tell you this, Adam appeals to women accross the age span including people like me who saw Led Zeplin, Bob Dylan, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes, and Bowie in concert. I know and love music and this man is phenomenal. I am not sure what his album will sound like, but I know there will be some good cuts and I know I will go see him on tour. As will many others accross all age spans and eventually both genders.

likeateen2 | 8/12/2009, 9:32 pm EST

It’s true there’s been lots of media hype around him but I’m pretty confident he’ll be up to expectations. This guy knows how to work under pressure and I’m eager to see what he comes up with.

James | 8/12/2009, 11:36 pm EST

holy shit, look at all the comments here. nobody usually garners this much attention-if adam’s album is any good, he’s gonna be huge from a marketing perspective. i hope he cuts a good record and sells a shitload, it would really open the door for other gay artists.

Rudeboy | 8/13/2009, 12:13 am EST

His feminine vocals just plain ruin the songs, if you close your eyes and listen he sounds just like Alison Moyet. And the CD will be a disaster, so far he’s only covered other famous songs, once the AI goofball gets into the studio, like all other AI contestants, they’ll have to bring in 20 songwriters and 12 producers to try and stitch together an album. It’s why this lifetime bizzer has never made it, he has no songwriting skills and doesn’t play an instrument, he has to rely on other people to produce music for him. It’ll be another ultra glossy hack job from the AI people. And as for your husband who is proud to be a Lambert fan, lol, tell him you said that on RS.com where the whole world can read it, LOLLLL, he’ll pass out with embarassment and then hide under a rock for 4 years, lol.

Jahroy | 8/13/2009, 12:17 am EST

Funny how 40 something women are on here with angry comments about how Adam’s fans aren’t only 40 something women, lol. ;)

Man club | 8/13/2009, 12:19 am EST

At least that woman didn’t post her husbands name, lol, if she had he’d have to wear a disguise for the rest of his life, lollllllllzzz.

Umhm | 8/13/2009, 1:19 am EST

Yes James, there’s so few gay artists in music ! LOL.

Starr | 8/13/2009, 6:45 am EST

I like Adam, but I like Adam when he isn’t gyrating all over the stage. When he performed an acoustic version of “Starlight” on Good Morning America, I was completely blown away by his performance. He needs to do more of that. I understand that he has an explosive personality and tremendous stage presence, but he has been able to communicate that without going overboard and making the performance seem contrived and gimmicky. But I think that is all just a matter of personal taste. Some people like over the top, others don’t. I prefer Adam during performances like “Mad World” and the performance of “Starlight” on GMA.

Allison | 8/13/2009, 7:42 am EST

I too loved the version of Starlight on GMA. Absolutely beautiful. I have not seen it mentioned before but to me it is obvious why Adam’s star is skyrocketing now after so long in the business. Television! He had never done TV before and the camera loves him. Handsome, sexy, intelligent, confident, articulate, beautiful voice and enormous creative energy. He has found his G (great) spot. I look forward to seeing what he does next.

LSchn | 8/13/2009, 12:32 pm EST

All of you haters and homophobes are the most clueless people on the planet. Adam’s fans will buy his CD no matter what it sounds like … just as we have snatched up everything else he has ever recorded. Nothing you say will change that. So, why are you wasting everyone’s time … including your own? Pathetic and stupid beyond words!

Carla | 8/13/2009, 12:57 pm EST

I think men in general get intimidated and pissed when a woman finds a gay man sexy. Gay men are the best friends a girl could ever have. They don’t cheat on you; they are not always trying to get in your pants; you can actually have an intelectual conversation with them that doesn’t involve Football or NASCAR statistics…

Yikes | 8/13/2009, 4:14 pm EST

True CRH, i’m jealous ! It’s mine and every little boys dream to grow up and wear eyeliner and to be able to sing like a girl !!! LOLZZZZ. This jealous defense often used is hilarious, why then am I not jealous of music and musicians I LIKE ? Who rake in money ? I’m glad they do, anyone who is talented deserves to be known and successful. Why it’s annoying when a godawful “talent” like this guy pushes more deserving performers out of the way. And I finally figured out who he sounds like, it’s been bothering me for days, he’s a dead ringer vocally and stylistically for none other than Andy Bell of Erasure ;) You soccer moms can go to Youtube and check it out, know Erasure isn’t exactly on your playing lists ;)

runawaysu | 8/13/2009, 7:29 pm EST

Wow! I can’t believe all the haters that are still out there. Like, hello, it’s 2009. Adam, you know you are doing something right when you get all these idiots lashing out at you because they are jealous. Adam’s vocals are the best I’v ever heard and his looks are so damn sexy and hot. Cant wait for his release. I dont have to wory about it because I already know I’ll love it. ROCK GOD!!!!

sadiesam | 8/13/2009, 9:14 pm EST

Great article RS. I will name just a few “real men” who have praised Adam Lambert’s vocal talent. Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Jamie Fox, Smokey Robinson, Brian May and Slash. Why do you think Slash mentored on the show? Led Zeppelin and U2 gave Adam permission to cover their songs. They have never allowed anyone on AI to do that before. They recognized his superior vocal talent. Is that enough real men for you? Not to mention that RS magazine continues to praise Adam. I think there may be a couple of guys on their staff. And BTW I am 25 and am happily married. I would guess some of the haters to be 20ish with a mental age of 13.

It really is very funny when some comments have to keep reminding us that Adam’s not interested in girls/women.. HAHA that’s really.. really funny. It really is surprising to know that Adam causing lots of men feel insecure and threaten with his sexiness so they have to always bring up about his sexuality..LOL

Beth | 8/14/2009, 1:17 am EST

Guess i’m the rare woman whose skin crawls when I hear this guy sing. His voice is very average, his “appeal” is mostly visual, the eye liner, the outfits. And his complete femininity just doesn’t do it for me, guess I prefer Elton John or Rock Hudson or Monty Clift, guys that still had a bit of manliness to them. Adam would be easier to stomach if he just went ahead and had a sex change, i’m sure he’s considered it, it would be easier to watch and listen to him if the body and face matched the female vocals.

Ben | 8/14/2009, 1:53 am EST

Yes Donna, we’re completely threatened as males by a gay man taking our women LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL L.

Jez | 8/14/2009, 4:09 am EST

Its awesome that all these comments add up to 20 times the article lenght. Except for all the haters. Whay must you come hear just to criticise? Do you expect anyone to actually say, ‘oh wait, now u mention it, he’s awful, thank you for making me a hater?’
Yikes.
Adam, keep up the sweet singing!

Coolandminty. | 8/14/2009, 1:51 pm EST

The opposite of love isn’t hatred, it’s indifference. So for all you haters who are on here running your lips, you obviously “care” very much about this phenomenon — this amazingly talented man, Adam Lambert — to have taken time out of your busy days to come on this page simply to spout off.

For those of us who love him, our hearts are simply touched at how much you want to be near anything and everything Adam. Saw the L.A. concert (and was weirdly embarassed to buy tickets to an “Idol” concert, which by the way I bought from some totally cool, inked Hollywood hipster who couldn’t make it that night), but can’t wait (and will prefer) to see AL on his first solo tour. Now THAT is going to be something to look forward to. Life is sweet!

@sadiesam | 8/14/2009, 2:49 pm EST

David Cook also covered a U2 song. But you’re right about Led Zeppelin.

sj | 8/14/2009, 3:05 pm EST

I don’t get why so many men here are saying derogatory things about Adam Lambert, as if being gay has some bearing on a person’s appeal and as if his fanbase is limited to tweens and soccer moms. Have you been to a concert? Have you seen the crowd’s reaction to him? He’s not hurting for fans from any demographic.

sj | 8/14/2009, 3:18 pm EST

Adam doesn’t lip-sync on tour. None of them do. They did for a few of the group performances on the televised show, but Adam was said to be the one who told the producers that they didn’t want to do that anymore. The fact that Adam sings his songs a little differently each night to preserve his voice might tell you that he’s not lip-syncing.

Also, “shrieky” and “OTT” depend on one’s mileage, but “average” is just an ignorant description of Adam’s voice. Industry people across the spectrum, from opera to Broadway to rock to R&B, all say he has a rare and amazing voice.

ren | 8/14/2009, 3:42 pm EST

Don’t go out and buy silly junk the TV told you to like and buy, this guy is like Barry Manilow or Liberace, pure mass appeal junk. AI already gave you Clay Aiken, wasn’t one Muzak singer enough for you goofs ??

peggy | 8/14/2009, 6:21 pm EST

I dearly love that Adam has his own way with doing music…He is so thrilling and the most fun I had in my life was at my sisters wedding with 2 of her gay friends…we danced, talked, laughed and didn’t have to worry about them making passes at us…..Lovely guys and there sexuality was never mentioned…

Tyra | 8/14/2009, 7:48 pm EST

I couldn’t love this guy more if I tried. He is so some kind of wonderful…sigh……..

bruce k | 8/14/2009, 7:52 pm EST

Adam Lambert is a mega talent. His vocal range is very rare. His performance skills are amazing. My family and I are looking forward to his upcoming album in the fall.

Lydia | 8/14/2009, 7:56 pm EST

On his American Idol run he had to cover others songs as they all did. However, I found I enjoyed Adam Lamberts version more than the original cover which to me speaks volumes. I am typically hard to please and not a fan of American Idol in general. I never went to an AI concert or bought any of the former contestants music. But this guy is different, he’s very, very different. He took the mold and smashed it into a million pieces. The other contestants are the typical spew of AI contestants that made me dislike the show. However, this guy is unique and so very talented.

Sally | 8/14/2009, 10:43 pm EST

So happy to watch Adam on this video clip. He is so charming! I hope November arrives soon. I am sooooo looking forward to Adam’s album. He is a mega talent and he will continue to succeed quite handily.

We finally get one Pro-Adam comment from a male and his name is………………………. ..
…………….. Bruce ! ;)

K. Foxx | 8/15/2009, 1:02 am EST

Actually most of the gay community is embarassed by this kind of attention. Adam plays up to the worst type of gay stereotype, an effeminate, over the top, garishly dressed “Queen”. My friends and I can never understand why some of our gay brothers want to appear feminine, when we are attracted to MEN, and all the qualities they exude. Sometimes it’s easier to play the game when you’re gay and act out what the straight society see’s as us. But 98 % of the gay community are everyday “regular” men who don’t play up to this stereotype for attention. We find it very destructive to put out images like Adam promotes. It plays into decades and even century’s old prejudices against us. It’s akin to how African Americans were stereotyped in the early part of this century, as wide grinning, dancing halfwits…..we feel the same way when we see Adam being readily available to act out this image of our gay brothers ande sisters :(

Well Bruce, I hope you enjoyed your membership in the Man Club, for obvious reasons we’re going to have to ask you to resign. You’ll have a period of re-designation, we’ll switch off your Full Schedule NFL Coverage and replace it with The Lifetime channel, we’ll replace your 2003 Dodge Pickup with the mudflaps and chrome tool box with a 2008 lime green VW bug decorated with Hello Kitty stickers, your wardrobe of khaki shorts and RUSH t-shirts will be replaced with a velvet jumpsuit with a extra wide faux- leopard print cinch belt. The exit is down the hall, to the left, you can leave your “manliness” at the front desk…..good luck !

ianaleah | 8/15/2009, 12:47 pm EST

poor manclubceo, so bitter, pathetic.Lambert entertains us with great singing and stage performances that are a reminder of the fun we had during the glam rock time-fun- remember how much fun a concert can be-Adam shows us, gives that to us.

ianaleah | 8/15/2009, 1:23 pm EST

I just read – (from mjsbigblog) -that Brian May of Queen praised Adam Lambert saying he just heard the track from the upcoming movie 2012 in which Adam sang and that”the world of rock has a bright new star”. Mr May also commented he is usually not that impressed with vocals but then went on with multiple adjetives praising Adam Lambert and his song on the soundtrack- said he was completely blown away, sensational. Adam Lambert has a fan in Brian May, it sounds like to me.

Your complaint has been registered in our bear skin covered log Leah, now be a nice girl and go get us a sandwich….

Jason | 8/15/2009, 6:58 pm EST

Adam isn’t about being “gay” or “effeminate”. He is about being creative, out of the box, and extremely talented. I guess some of you don’t remember Bowie and Freddie Mercury??? Talent is talent and Adam has MEGA TALENT!!

Man Club CEO | 8/15/2009, 8:51 pm EST

We’ll be in the Man Club Safe Room Leah, just slide the ’sammich under the door…no use in trying to scratch through the door,it’s 3 inch titanium, many have tried and failed before you, look at the pile of broken Lee Press on Nails under your feet as proof. And no, trying to get us to come out by crying out, “Sex and the City is on babe…I think if you just gave it a try you’d like it !” Or – “Omigod ! Come quick ! There’s this guy on American Idol ! Adam something….you GOTTA see him ! He’s even sexier than Clay Aiken !”
Those won’t work. And can you catch Jason ? We’ll slide him out the window…he keeps on trying to change the channel from The Dirty Dozen to An Affair to Remember….
….Thanks !!!

Adam Lambert is an amazing vocalist and a superb entertainer.
Why are there still comments here about his personal life..it is supposed to be about the music…..his personal life (or anyone elses personal life)is none of your business.

Its all about the music..Adam’s music and he is a brilliant artist.

Looking forward to his RCA release and a solo tour.

Man Club CEO | 8/15/2009, 9:45 pm EST

………….and don’t worry, we’ll throw out his baby blue Gwen Stefani World Tour hoodie ahead of him, it’ll break his fall, he’ll be fine !

Jennifer | 8/16/2009, 12:22 am EST

Macho man club dude. Wake up!! We don’t care if Adam is gay. Adam is totally hot!!! He is gorgeous and his has a voice from heaven. I bet you smell as bad as your attitude.
Burp, slobber, and fart.

Jennifer | 8/16/2009, 1:43 am EST

Brian May of Queen had some incredible words of praise for Adam He said,
“I was privileged to hear a track that the guys have finished for Adam Lambert … a song for a forthcoming film, 2012. I have to say I was completely blown away … it’s truly sensational. In fact it’s so obviously a number one smash, any bookie would be mad to take bets on it. I am not kidding. I’m not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists … but Adam’s voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. Its an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star.”

Just subscribed to RS | 8/16/2009, 3:45 pm EST

So at the DigitalDreamDoor Music Forum’s 100 Most Technically Skilled Rock Vocalists, Adam Lambert is listed at #2, along the likes of Jackie Wilson, Freddie Mercury, Geoff Tate and Steve Perry. I don’t care what genres of music are on Adam’s October and November releases, I am buying them to hear his incredible vocal talent and skill. If any the songs are great, and I trust some will be with his talent and the talent he is working with, so much the better.
When a great artist like Adam Lambert comes along, they deserve our support.

Man Club CEO | 8/16/2009, 5:20 pm EST

Complaint registered Jennifer. Man club members will consider how hot another man is. To be honest we spend very little…..well, no time actually talking among ourselves about how hot and gorgeous another man is. Although we may consider discussing Lee Marvin. Be a dear and and fetch CEO’s slippers……..

Man Club CEO | 8/16/2009, 5:39 pm EST

Allen, Man Club members once rented an Erasure video, we mistakingly thought it was Eraserehead…..Friday nights we study David Lynch and Robert Aldrich films…we popped in Erasure DVD in error…3 of our members were rushed to the hospital with “extreme ooginess” after watching 20 seconds of Andy Bell. Many members have pointed out the remarkable similiarity between Adam and Andy…under a lawyers advice we only screen Adam on Youtube with a Lynyrd Skynyrd CD handy to offset extreme “fabulousness” of Mr. Lambert….

leileea | 8/16/2009, 6:38 pm EST

Adam is hot! hot! hot! look at all the comments… people are so affected by him..people can’t contain themselves as if their lives depended on it.. it is inevitable – Adam is the superstar that EVERYBODY IS TALKING ABOUT.

As a gay man let me tell you that you DO NOT speak for the gay community or myself. I am a masculine man who has very little in common with Adam Lambert but I would NEVER be so arrogant or pretentious to come on a message board (here or otherwise) and denounce this out and proud gay man (and our brothers just like him) as something offensive and negative for our community. You know what’s offensive here? Your comments. They’re ridiculous, absurd, and completely rude.

Have you forgotten that our march to freedom and equality was started by a group of drag queens at Stonewall? And now you have the nerve to say that these types of people are now abhorrent to you? If it weren’t for those men in heels acting like “queens” you wouldn’t be able to be that regular guy you so desperately feel you need to be in order to not scare straight people. There are many different types of gay men in our community and your 98% regular guy average is something you clearly pulled out of your ass. There are a TON of effeminate men who are being ostracized and ridiculed by arrogant assholes like yourself who have tried to present an image to straight people that is, at best, a half truth. I am so sick and tired of this attempt by mainstream gay media (and people like you) to present themselves in such a way as to make it palatable for the straight community: “look, I drive a mini-van, I shop at the Home Depot, I have 2.5 kids, I wear a sweater vest, I’m an accountant, I’ve never worn makeup, I don’t have a gay lisp…I’m not scary…see?” You are a gutless coward who has chosen to disparage our brothers in an attempt to rid yourself of some obvious self-loathing that lurks deep within.

A stereotype is a repeat w/out variation and that’s exactly what you’re trying to promote “98% of us our average guys.” Complete bullshit. We are all different types of people and that includes effeminate men. And just because they’re effeminate doesn’t mean they aren’t men. You know who isn’t a man? Someone who has conveniently forgotten the history of our movement which was started by queens in heels, someone who comes to message boards and disparages our brothers for being who they are because they somehow don’t fit your 1950’s definition of what a man is, someone who pretends to speak for an entire community when they so obviously don’t, someone who lifts our feminine brothers up as a blight on our community, and then proceeds to feel so put upon by this “stereotype.” YOU, not Adam Lambert, are a blight on the gay community and everything that we should stand for. SHAME ON YOU!

K. Foxx..Are you saying that you’re ashamed of being associated with an amazingly talented, articulate, sensitive, strong, savvy, smart, secure, honest, open young man? Well, after reading your post I can say I wouldn’t be suprised if Adam felt the same about you.

Dante L…You’re words were perfect. All I can say is BRAVO!

Personally, I don’t see Adam as “overly feminine”. Most of my gay friends are more so on most occasions less on others. Just because the boy wears makeup and knows how to move his hips doesn’t make him a “queen”. Plenty of straight men before him have worn eye makeup and nailpolish and strutted across the stage like a cat in heat. He just does it better than most.

Adam was an incredible breath of fresh air on AI. He was unbelievable and intoxicating live. And up close and personal he was warm and friendly and gracious. He’s an amazing young man and I wish him nothing but great success and I can hardly WAIT for his album in November!!

Why oh why does he have to look like a young version of an old Wayne Newton ? He may sing well but the too black hair and the too much makeup make him look corpsy like Wayne Newton, Danke Schoen babes.

Hello to all the Adam Lambert Lovers! I justed wanted to add that I’m so excited for Adam..I’ve never felt like this about a singer in a long time…I can put Adam in the same category as Elvis, the Beatles, Madonna….they all had/have something special…THE WHOLE PACKAGE! Go Adam!!! I can’t wait for your album…you ROCK!!

hagoromoaya | 8/22/2009, 6:08 pm EST

RGM
I totally agree. I am 60 and straight, married for 30 years. I have been to many rock concerts in my youth and recent year to Rollingstones concert. Adam knows to perform differently according to the audiences. TV show for general public, such as AI or GMA, and concert for the core fans with a lotta visual effects, and
pure performances for studio recordings.
I call it PRO. The concert quality cannot compared with the studio recorded CDs, saying his voice is not as good as the same song studio recorded by other artist.
All we have to wait is November when Adam’s first original album will hit #1 on the chart.
I am so sure about it!!

Bee | 8/24/2009, 12:11 am EST

Man Club CEO, don’t I recall toying with you in the comment section of another Adam-related article recently? Why, you little Adam stalker, you! You’re so ugly you’re cute.

I shall sprinkle you with glittery pollen as I buzz away in search of intelligent life forms.

@ManClubCEO … Your inane ravings about absolute rubbish are beginning to BORE me. I am a 72 year old grandmother and if any of my grandchildren spoke the way you do I would wash their mouths out with SOAP … and I”m not afraid to volunteer to do the same for you!!! Now SHUT UP!!!

terie | 9/4/2009, 1:37 am EST

Let me say this … since ADAM LAMBERT appeared on AI I have turned into a Ytube addict … I never even went to that site until they started showing his performances. I’m not able to go to any concerts so I watch them on Ytube … and I don’t only watch ADAM (altho that is the reason I do watch) but the rest of the kids are entertaining as well (well, some of them) I feel like I am a part of the world again thanx to these concerts. ADAM may be sexy but that’s not why I watch … he may be gorgeous but that’s not why I watch … he’s a great dancer but that’s not why I watch. His silky smooth VOCALS and his charisma that draws you to him no matter how old you are, his genuine humility and positive attitude and his obvious respect for everyone even the mean and nasty ones who bash him and his ability to make me feel like he’s singing only to me … THAT’S WHY I WATCH!!! And I will buy anything he produces musically and support his charities as much as I can … ADAM is AMAZING … UNPARALELLED!!!

Kate | 9/17/2009, 1:25 pm EST

Bring it on Adam because we are anxiously awaiting your very hot CD release and solo tour.

When are we going to see Adam in Australia?Don’t tell me that America is the only lucky country!
Adam Melbourne is waiting for you!

LolaGlamb | 9/18/2009, 10:51 pm EST

Wow. What is the count on these posts? No wonder RS and so many other media outlets are backing Lambert. It’s great that he causes such buzz. I just wish everyone would settle down and allow other opinions without lambasting each other. There’s room in this big old world for diversity.

I am anxiously awaiting Adam’s CD. With all of the hype, I at times also have worried about so much pressure on the success of Adam’s CD-until I remember that he has never disappointed me in his taste in music and the choices he has made in his songs and his performances. Not to mention his incredible voice.

Emerald Skye | 9/27/2009, 9:13 am EST

Adam has a HUGE fan base already, many of whom never post on these types of sites, so they are still unknown and unseen.

I think the truth will be revealed when his CD is released in November, and we see how well it sells. I think he is a true STAR – one of the best we have seen in a very long time!

Personally, I believe that if you can’t say something positive, just keep your thoughts to yourself! When someone puts out so much negative hype about someone, whether it be about Adam or anyone else, it tends to say more about the person putting out the bad vibes than the one they are trying to trash!

Adam is NOT the one with the ugliness inside… He is an incredibly articulate, polite, playful, extremely talented and man who deserves to be treated with respect! I applaud his creativity, and his courage in expressing himself authentically and fearlessly!

Adam will be fine, living his dream, creating his beautiful music and performance art, and laughing all the way to the bank!

Go ADAM!!!! At this point, there are still many people who still don’t know who Adam is and haven’t heard him sing. I think his talent and his beautiful, crystalline voice will be garnering more and more fans for many years to come!

The world is a more fun place to be because he is here struttin’ his stuff all over the stage and singin’ like a Naughty Angel! I just love him!

AdoringAdam | 9/27/2009, 10:40 am EST

I predict his CD will be one of the greatest sellers of all time. I know what I’m buying for Christmas presents. Start saving for his first solo concert right now.
We love Adam!!

Adam's CD for sale!!! | 9/28/2009, 2:07 am EST

Guys, Adam’s debut CD is now available for PRE-ORDER on Amazon Music. It’s now #2 on the BESTSELLERS chart and it’s only been 1 day since they have put the CD on the market for pre-orders. Check it out pronto! The lovely Barbra Streisand is at #1 on the bestsellers list.

AndyInLondon | 9/30/2009, 11:09 am EST

To TexasBear, Elvis, and some of the other people who feel the need to disparage both Adam and his fans, somehow I feel good that those of us who appreciate this young man’s talents are joined by the likes of Slash, Brian May, David Foster, Meat Loaf, Katy Perry, Smokey Robinson, Jamie Foxx, and other top musicians and entertainers who are blown away by his talent. When you can compile a resume that equals 1/10 of 1% of those of any ONE of those people (not all women, by the way, to the poster who seemed to think it was relevant that the majority of comments here are by women), then perhaps I’ll take your comments seriously. But as a musician myself, with a Masters Degree from a top 10 University, I’m going to side with the individuals cited above, and say that this is no fluke or television-packaged non-entity that’s grabbing 15 minutes of undeserved fame. Adam Lambert is the real deal in spades. Without question, he is one of the most wildly talented singers and entertainers to come along in a generation.

To TexasBear, who predicted that Kris Allen’s CD would outsell Adam’s — take a look at the best sellers page on Amazon today. With ZERO promotion from the label or from Amazon, with no title yet announced, no single released, and not a note of music even heard by the public yet, Adam’s upcoming CD is NUMBER ONE. Where is Kris’s (who, by the way, has already released a single, which has been getting fairly decent airplay, and whose album has already been receiving some advance promotion) is currently at #65. I have nothing bad to say about Kris – he’s a fine performer, with a better than average singing voice and first-rate musicianship. But Adam has superstar quality that Kris just doesn’t, and we’re already seeing how their two career trajectories will go. Kris’s will be solid and successful, while Adam’s will, deservedly, go through the roof.

CAexFan | 10/18/2009, 10:28 am EST

So disappointed to see his new photos with the naked lady. He doesn’t have to do this anymore. Think about all his young fans. I wonder if people will cancel their orders from Amazon for his CD.

Donald Jenkins | 11/11/2009, 9:24 pm EST
