Michael Jackson’s Full Autopsy Results Delayed, Coroner Says

7/17/09, 11:39 am EST

Photo: Fraser/FilmMagic
The results of Michael Jackson’s full autopsy will be delayed, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles coroner’s office tells the AP. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the report — which is expected to include toxicology results — will not be finished for two more weeks. Winter didn’t provide a reason for the delay, but sources tell TMZ the holdup is due to outside consultants who have yet to file their reports.

The inquiry into the cause of Jackson’s sudden death on June 25th is a criminal investigation, a spokesperson for the L.A. district attorneys office told TMZ. As Rolling Stone previously reported, the investigation is focused on prescription medications that may have been in Jackson’s system at the time of his death, and the doctors who treated the singer, including Conrad Murray, who was at Jackson’s side when he was rushed to the hospital suffering from cardiac arrest. Police are additionally probing five doctors who wrote prescriptions for Jackson using pseudonyms, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Doctors who write down false names on official prescription pads are violating federal Drug Enforcement Administration rules, the L.A. Times reports, and Jackson was known to possess medications under aliases, including Omar Arnold.

Unnamed law enforcement sources tell TMZ the potent anesthetic Propofol was the “primary reason” Jackson’s heart failed. Should toxicology and autopsy results confirm it, the criminal investigation into the star’s death will seek out whoever prescribed and administered the drug to the singer.

I think that he mad a desison to take there medications, he could have over done it. It is a fact that taking narcotic medications for long periods of time can cause heart failer as well and kidnys to shut down. When dealing with a person who just passes away from to much medications there isn’t a investigation for them because there are not famous. That is the difference between “normal people” and stars. I think that this is something tragic and he wouldn’t want people to be doing this right now. He is gone and there is nothing that is going to bring him back. All we can do is learn from this and family to be more involed in the life’s of our loved ones. This is a tragic thing that has happened to the music industry as well the rest of the world that knew him as well as the ones who respect him and like is music.

anonymus | 7/17/2009, 1:40 pm EST

Where was the family? Specially the father and Latoya when all this was going down. They just care about the money.

Kay | 7/17/2009, 1:43 pm EST

I truly wonder if we will ever really get to the bottom of Michael Jackson’s cause of death. Or will it be shrouded in mystery for eternity.
But, for me all, that ever mattered
was the music.

Earl Campbell | 7/17/2009, 2:05 pm EST

The cause of death is extreme suckiness, and chronic irrelevance.

Counselor | 7/17/2009, 2:26 pm EST

Some of my clients had to have several treatments. The first thing is to get the person away from enablers, not easy. I appreciate the efforts it took for Brittany Spears family to step in, difficult to do with a grown adult. Also, Whitney Houston’s recovery is truly amazing. It took a lot of organized, cooperative effort from many people.

shanna | 7/17/2009, 2:31 pm EST

i think the delay in the autopsy report is bullshit they know what killed now their just trying to find a way to hide the truth from us……..

scott cannon | 7/17/2009, 2:41 pm EST

The only reason for the delay is for more media coverage. They already know what the reason is. Come on let the man rest in peace.

Lester Green | 7/17/2009, 4:18 pm EST

I too wish they could finish the autopsy, so they can bury him at Neverland Ranch. The setting for some of the hottest, most erotic preteen boy action that MJ ever experienced. Talk about heaven!

I believe most people don’t wake up one day and decide to become drug addicts. He started out taking pain killers because of an accident. The meds make you feel good, they give you energy and before you know it you start taking more and more. Your body gets to where it needs more to get that feeling again. I believe he could have been saved with the right kind of family support. It is a long and hard road to help someone with an addiction. They always mean well but don’t always do the right thing. The people that helped him get his meds and the ones that just sat back and watched, they will have to answer for that even if it is not by law enforcement it will be by a larger law enforcer. Please just pray for his children, hope that they will remain together, protected, and loved.

Lee | 7/17/2009, 4:43 pm EST

Mr. Green I am sure there are things about you that people would find shocking and offensive if your life was to be exposed and the hidden private things you have done and may be doing to this day. Your demons may be hidden, but perhaps one day, you too will find yourself in the seat of judgement and wanting others to find mercy and leave you alone.

Sincerely

As a recovering prescription drug addict, I know interventions usually don’t help. You may have the most loving family and friends but until the addict is ready to change, nothing works.

The road to recovery is long and relapse is common. I didn’t have a decent nights sleep for over six months. It took a spiritual intervention to solve that problem.

Michael CHOOSE to continue his use of drugs and did not have the physical, spiritual or emotional fortitude to ‘tough-it-out.” Playing the “blame-game” on family or friends is wrong. Noone has the power to change another person. Only Michael had that power.

If anyone other than Michael himself is to be blamed, it would be his drug suppliers: the doctors. Physicians are taught the signs of addiction. I’m certain many doctors refused Michael and warned him of side effects like liver damage. He simply found the right pill-pushers.

Some addicts must die so others can live. Perhaps Michael’s death will save another addict – someone who knows his pain and CHOOSES to seek help.

RE: MJ
As much as we would like to find someone to blame, in the end it’s the user’s decision. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want help. All the kids are crying over Michael’s death. It was like a trainwreck coming. It was only a matter of time. Did anyone notice how he turned from an african american in to a white Bette Davis in “What ever happened to baby Jane”? Scary. Kinda like Phil Spector. Where was Janet then?

Michael Jackson has probably pulled off the greatest death hoax in history and is probably somewhere laughing his ass off at the news media and the haters out there on the blogs. If this is true, he had made a complete mockery of the media that hounded him his entire life. Pure Genius. Remember, we have not seen a body and that might be the reason for the endless delays and excuses, like what do we tell the public next. I guess none of you ever thought of that. When you have money you can make anything happen. One thing is certain, he has made a serious comeback in a serious way and definitely surpassed ELVIS. No other entertainer living or dead will ever come close. He never had to perform again, like the man said “THIS IS IT”. Michael Jackson is still ALIVE. The media is making him bigger and bigger every day, they can’t get enough. Gotta hand it to ya Mike, you have been vindicated, plus your family is getting paid, 40% with the kids, and 40% to the mother and family and the money is still rolling in. He is probably on a beach somewhere chilled while John Q. Public is trying to figure it out. Don’t believe the hype in the media, do your research.

Chris | 7/18/2009, 8:19 am EST

I can’t believe I’m actually contributing to one of these threads, but then it’s my own fault for reading it in the first place. I don’t fall into any particular camp re MJ, but I am slightly disturbed at the absolute blindess/denial of a certain percentage of MJ nuts, who refuse to accept ANY criticism of their idol. Whatever the shortcomings of the mans personal life, the drugs problem, if indeed that turns out to be what killed him, although ‘helped along’ by unscrupulous doctors, was ultimately his responsibility. The music business is littered with casualties and survivors in equal quantities. I think of one David Crosby (yes, I know, most MJ will be asking WHO…?), but he has given as much pleasure through his music to a certain generation, as MJ did to his….the man was a wreck, minutes from dying, all his own doing, until a liver transpalnt saved his life, but he wanted to change. He got clean, he worked at it and he came through because he WANTED it. Now a pensioner, his voice is still able to move to tears, and with his bandmates still tours constantly, at his age. Do we seriously think MJ would have made 50 gigs even if he got to start them..?

prit | 7/18/2009, 8:34 am EST

Leave MJ alone, you haters, losers. Even when he’s dead, he’s still more fukin important than you’ll ever be. RIP Mike. Long live the king!!!!!!!

such ugly words..

MJ is, was and will eternaly remain one of the greatest Soul who visited our world,
Only blind can’t comprehend and see who MJ is.expail
So waste of time to explain if you till now did not understand!
As Christus dais: don’t trow diamonts- pearls to swines – meaning don’ waste your treasure- knowledge for thouse who are….

leapardsin | 7/18/2009, 1:06 pm EST

You know, I’ve heard it’s a hoax that went wrong. I’ve heard that he’s not dead, I’ve heard it’s “Elvis” all over again. The one thing that disgusted me was the media, instead of focusing on what he accomplished, the Music, Charities and his Kids. The morons on the TV CNN, ABC, NBC, they all focused on what he left behind… the Millions he left in debt, the issues with court, and he left a legacy that will hurt his kids… Um yeah, Shut up. Am I in denial? I don’t believe so. Is that all true? Sure, but Mike was more then anything fathomable and he knew this. Is it his fault? Maybe, possibly, but the bottom line is, is he is gone. The mind that created the world that was his is gone. That is what I will miss the most I think not just his music, but the thought process of everything he created, the videos to the concerts, to his wardrobe. This is a horrid thing that has dimmed the light of the world in so many different ways. My condolences go to his Family and those closest to him. To those of you that don’t understand what was lost here, fuck off and Scream!

janeil88 | 7/18/2009, 1:47 pm EST

I, for one–it seems, think it’s about time some of these so-called doctors who prescribe these dangerous drugs to known addicts take responsibility for their actions & take their Hippocratic Oath seriously. This definitely includes the phrase: “I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan”. Do we really live in a world where no one’s word is at all good & ANYTHING can be bought &/or sold? I understand it may have been a choice Michael Jackson made to use the drugs, however, even the most hard-assed skeptics must realize that without the supplier, their is NO SUPPLY. Aside from this, the fact STILL remains that chronic pain CAN & WILL affect your mind (no separation of mind & body)to the point where you may not be able to make sound decisions. This being said, perhaps Michael should not have tried so hard to keep working, to keep giving, to keep going no matter what it cost him in personal/physical/mental woes–no one knows that but him & The Man Upstairs & neither one is telling…Although Michael has said on several occasions that he “would not trade a minute of it” & apparently felt it was worth the sacrifices he made. The bottom line: Michael Jackson’s death represents a tremendous & tragic loss to the world, to say the very least…jc

rmitrosky | 7/19/2009, 12:15 am EST

responding initially to otisplumber:

why would the media shut up about his death? the media killed the man. the media loved to pen michael “wacko jacko” or “pervert.”

you have no reason to post here or bother reading articles regarding Michael if you have nothing but disdain for him.

Michael Jackson is dead, for whatever reason, he is still unlike anything you will ever see again. He still means very much to so many and he was never, just as you have denied him of, allowed the respect he deserved, nor shown any human descency by the media he refused to acknowledge that he was human being and not just nor only an entertainer.

He was not wacko-jacko, he was someone’s son, brother, father, companion, and so many things that you refuse to respect. He is gone, his absence is felt by far more than you, sir. Kindly do yourself a favor and hold your flippant disregard for others to yourself and find some other means to occupy yourself.

jadesmom | 7/19/2009, 1:08 am EST

Can you be serious?? Michael “faking” his death and leaving behind his beloved children? What, do you think he taught them to act before he pulled off the greatest media hoax in over a century??? Did you not see Paris break down over losing her Daddy at his memorial??? Give me break!!! You people crying “his death is a hoax” are either a) in denial, b) just sick, or c) either of the above! Michael is gone due to disgusting, enabling “physicians” who cared more about money than their hypocratic oath. R.I.P. Michael, and blessing to his family always!

Maybe mine spelling is not perfect, due to the fact that is not mine mother language and I live in Eastern Europe.
Leapardisin, very well said in comments below.
Anyhow we shoul concentrate on what grat legacy and the message behind this legacy the unique MJ left us.
In our era, we will not see again
the Being of such a great incredible charisma, love, creativity, eccc as MJ.hE IS ABOVE ANYTHING we can possibli imagine, therefore we should demand from media to make a small advance towards the rightnes, truth and good, instead of being a messanger of Devil, and today the world .- unfortunatelly is working in this way, as Michael said – only a bad , ugly , lying news sell, and this only show on what level of evolution our conscious is , certanly not at the level of beling called Homo Sapiens.
Therefore yes, we shoul speak abou gratness and very importand message Michael left us.
And yes, we did not finished his mission, due to pain killers and drugs and all gready people who surranded him, they new what they were doing, becouse through drugs one can kill the consciuoness and one can manupolate with you, regadles how spiritual one can be,
drugs are the one which are destroying and blure Soul …ecc
MIchael also had to go through
lot of suffering, but would not be for drugs, he will overcome this, becouse hi is a great Soul, but drugs had and media had destroyed him!

Rosana | 7/19/2009, 5:04 am EST

Michaels sacrifice can teach us something and here I support that the memory of him should be pure and clean as it was pure and loving the great Soul and unique Being MJ , one in 10 milion people which incarnated in our world, he was not only a unique Artist, but much , much more and one day – we SHOULD ALL BE AWARE OF MICHAEL’S MESSAGE of LOVE.

Clark Auld | 7/19/2009, 6:33 am EST

Let’s see where should I begin. Well, I’ll say this Michael Jackson was a Iconic Musical Artist that broke so many barrier’s,knocked down walls and had so much creative talent in his musical video’s, in the studio, and on Stage. Michael Definitely had it together in Music career or he forgot about his private life and hid it very well. Now this is where it gets alittle bit contrversal “His Private life”. Apparently, he has been a drug addict for a while now. He commited federal crimes taking on other ailias(other people’s identity)also getting drug’s that are not even on the domestic market. Also Paul MCartney and Jackson were really good friends and when Paul finally got a second chance to get the beatles song collection that is rightfully there’s they just screwed back in the ’60s with there songs but that is another story. So Paul Mccartney,Harrison’s wife, and Yoko Ono, and ringo show up to bid and get there songs and to there surprise Michael Jackson is there. Jackson bid 47 million and walked out with the song collection and stabbed all 4 of them in the chest. Honestly any true Musician/Songwriter would not do that because if they did not write those songs and come up with those songs they wouldn’t dare take it doesn’t how much money was on the table they wouldn,t do it.

Rosana | 7/19/2009, 3:10 pm EST

Clark Auld your point of view is correct, but only from your poit of view, not if one looks as a whole situation, that is from the bird point of view.
Why? MJ private life is far to enigmatic that it can be understood only by racional intelect. One must enter to ones hart ( that is our own ) and through deepest love for thruth seek to comprehend. One should not
think that all what is written by media is the gospel. There is always something which is hiden to
unhealthy eye when the truth comes from outside. We can beleive only what appers to each one of us in our own hearts as truth. This is also a message given to us by great Soul as MJ was and is in many of his lyrics that is MJ message of love and always seeking for truth, compassion and goodness.
Hopefuly one day we all will be able to understand this message.
But I also agree, although in his Art he was truly one of a kind, the Greates in his private life, he fell – due to many very strong and huge obstacles under influences by greedy dark side of thouse who surranded him.

Jacksons rape victim | 7/19/2009, 6:40 pm EST

Jackson was not much of a music pioneer only 3 worth wile albums he only wrote a handful of the songs he was a multi billion dollar marketing project that went drastically wrong he was a cartoon. He could not play instruments he was not a gifted song writer he was just a very good entertainer. Real music by people who really gave there life and sole to there art make 30-40 albums not 7 and they write thousands of songs not 12. Bob Dylan tours over 290 days of the year since the 80’s and still gets in the charts neil young the same. These so called kings elvis, Jackson are well marketed entertainers smothered in money and they live and die the same way in dept drugged up and fucked up and unhealthy.

A Trillion Plates of Dance! | 7/20/2009, 4:31 pm EST

We are but a Blub plate destined to be colonized by the Interstellar Federation, and the Humans who are stronger than the Blubs now that the Squid, who was 2 times the strength of a human, has been erradicated. Today, the Menatees, the King Dong size, are floating around in the Ozone and are breathing helium and trying to talk in cartoon voices. By the way, they also tried to ride Ann of Heart in their dogma as she is the greatest rock performance vocal, and whatever they’re doing in Classic Rock with voice, hair, and looks, EVERYONE is doing, so remember, they’re all a cookie cutter on all trillion plates and now and then you get a snapshot of the human version who just plain outrocked everyone into whatever’s permitted per your government issued age, FUNNY! And, the ones who went after every artist were all DARPA transmittered into doing it, and then the entire plate was snapshot out, we are now new plates assembled on what the Blub think is Planet Blub, so much for intelligent life as far as they’re concerned, we snap in and out and we are at a trillion x a trillion plates, no doubt about it. So the Squid ate most of the big Blub talent including MJ, and everyone knows they started in the 90’s period, and the one they’ll autopsy will be a squid, and rumor has it Obama wants to see the real look, and that’s interstellar, they are working together, and for those who want to be a one plate schmuck trying on all of these Ionesphere blasphemies on humans, good luck, you’ll meet our Billabyte Interstellar Mainframe in court! Ha!

Leeanna C. | 7/20/2009, 6:12 pm EST

To begin this, I would first like to respond to the idiot who said that Michael did not play any instruments, look through any of his album credits and you will find these words “ALL MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS PERFORMED BY MICHAEL JACKSON” and second off, scoot aside his incredible legacy just for ONE second, Michael Jackson was a human being. People should have a little respect. Or in the words of a old cliche “If you do not have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all” It really gets me how people just go on and on about the way Michael looks, and the color of his skin, and it is utter hypocracy for ANYONE to say anything. We do not know what is really behind Michael’s appearnce. We do not know what he may have been trying to be become…or perhaps escape. But who are we to judge him? Michael Jackson was magic, he could reach out to all kinds of people, of all races, and he had a affect on people. Everyone knows that Michael could sing and dance, but what really made him special was his ability to make it his own, he had a style that could no be mimiced by anybody. His persona, his music, his dancing, was all his creation. Michael can truly make people believe in miracles. It is a shame his life was cut short, especially on these circumstances. Without doubt he is, and will be forever the greatest entertainer that ever lived, and ill ever live.

Most of us agree the “media circus”
had much to do with Michael’s demeanor. He expressed these feelings in his “History” soundtrack “Stranger in Moscow. He sang of his “SWIFT AND SUDDEN FALL FROM GRACE” and the pain he was feeling inside “COLD”. In the track “Earth Song” he sang “what about everything I didn’t do” pertaining to the allegations he was facing at the time. I couldn’t stand to listen to what the media was saying, so can I just imagine what he was going through. All he wanted to do was heal the world with love and awareness through his music. RIP Michael RIP.

I think MJ death, proves you are not invinsible when it comes to substance abuse. It can happen to you wheather your famous or just the average person. I think the sad thing he had so many people around him, and no one was able to help him, only hinder him. He got his drugs legally (doctors) who knew what he was doing? I think people were paid off to keep quiet about his substance abuse. He needed intervention, and no one his family included stepped up? He may still be alive if someone would have intervened. Now his kids are left behind, with no father and their futures unknown. So sad!!!

Respect his memory through his music, for it was unique, one of kind, born of his own style. He grew up before our eyes. He was media respected and media rediculed and he died with all the hype of the media. His greatest audience is between himself and God now. Media tells that he is not buried, but packed in ice somewhere – please bury him – let him rest in peace. A fan since 1969.

micheal jackson is no differnt than any other human there are people who loved him and people who hated him. i for one never cared for his music but my daughter loved it i never tryed to control her choices of music and for as him doing drugs sure he needed help but so do a millions of other drug attits out here and a little love and kindness from family and friends may have help and if they were true friends they would have tryed to help him to get help and if his family truly loved him they would have also.the way i see it the world got to where it exspected more than he was able to give and the only way he could keep doing it was with help of drugs i dont know if his dad was or wasnt mean to him growing up but thats no excuse to to turn to drugs where was his mom while his dad was miss treating him and why did she let it keep going on shes at as much fault as he is.i never heard any thing about the other kids being mistreated by thir dad

Michael Jackson was a great singer and intertainer ever since he was just a child. He had a gift that moved you and his dancing was remarkable, but the most impressive attributes was the way he helped people all over the world come together for a common goal. He had many fans and celebrities to help in this quest, and I believe he made this world a better place. RIP Michael.

Michael Jackson is NOT DEAD, didn’t die of drugs because he believed in being healthy. As Forreal said, it’s a hoax, but for all of you evil people, too bafd you can’t try to make the world a better place like Michael did and he was vindicated, no perversive ever happened in his life. He loved the dhildren because he was like a big boy himself, not someone who would harm a child. You will be judged and remember when it happens why….
