Investigators Reportedly Treating Jackson Death As a Homicide

A pair of doctors remain at the center of the investigation into the death of Michael Jackson. Although an LAPD police chief previously said officials were awaiting the results of the toxicology report before determining how to proceed with their inquiry, TMZ reports that detectives are already treating the case like a homicide, with Jackson’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray still the focus of the investigation.

Law enforcement officials say there is “plenty of powerful evidence” suggesting that Jackson’s death came after Murray administered the sedative Propofol to the singer. Police reportedly found the drug itself, an intravenous stand and an oxygen tank at Jackson’s home. Propofol — which the CDC and FDA just yesterday recalled after several lots were found to be contaminated — is a powerful anesthesia which is usually just for in-hospital use. An overdose of the drug could cause breathing to stop, leading to a buildup of carbon dioxide in the body that could result in cardiac arrest.

Murray’s lawyers have thus far refused to confirm or deny whether Murray administered Propofol to Jackson, though after the doctor’s initial two conversations with police they refuted rumors Murray administered a painkiller to the star shortly before his death: “There was no Demerol. No OxyContin,” attorney Edward Chernoff said. Murray’s attorneys also confirmed the doctor waited approximately a half-hour before calling 911 when he found Jackson with a faint pulse on June 25th. While the LAPD have had conversations with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, the case was not formally presented to the DA, TMZ reports.

Another doctor associated with Jackson, dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein, has been served with a subpoena for medical records, an official from the LA coroner’s office confirms for Us Weekly; a lawyer for the doctor says he is not under investigation, however. Klein, who has denied any wrongdoing, said, “There was nothing wrong with the manner I treated Michael, because what I had to do is restructure for an individual who had lupus, who had terrible acne scarring his face,” during a July 8th appearance on Good Morning America, according to Us. Klein is rumored to be the actual father of Jackson’s oldest two children.

Being worth a billion dollars dead,it’s hard to believe someone wouldn’t have been tempted beyond their normal code of ethics to bump Michael off.

The King of Pop killed by his own doctor??? Crazy, but when you dance to close to the sun, you get burned. Michael will be missed, and it’s unfortunate those in the UK will miss what would have been an amazing experience. Good night Michael, we will miss you!!!

The whole situation is sad. Whatever is found to be his true cause of death is up in the air. Michael Jackson was an innovator and a musical genius that can not be replaced. I personally choose to focus on the great gift of music that he gave us all.

Don’t you think that the good doctor should be snuffed with an overdose of propofol?

He was an addict who had the money, power and influence to do what addicts do: lie, manipulate and isolate. Now that his siblings are claiming they were prevented from staging an intervention it still isn’t “news” to anyone who has been touched by the scourge of addiction. Addicts are addicts without regard to socio economic station or profession. MJ made a decision to not seek out legitimate help. Do we think that he, for one moment, could not call out to someone for help? He was not a prisoner or a marionette controlled by strings. He was in the throws of addiction and his love affair with anesthetics simply consumed him. It has been proven over and over again that nothing–no amount of love, pleading, begging, crying–nothing works for the addict who chooses to stay in addiction. MJ has been “gone” for well over a quarter of a century. We all saw him literally dying bit by bit with the Neverland fiasco. We will never know his personal pain. We got to see his bizarre behaviors because, like most addicts, it got to a point where masking was no longer possible.

Murder, suicide, natural causes. Either way, we win!

I think that doctor shud get the same medicine he gave Michael. Someone who killed a great icon like that shud not be let go so easily. He needs to pay for his actions

MJ is NOT dead. With 500m in dept from outrageous spending habits and court costs for his touchy feely acusations, he decided to fake his death and move to the island with Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa. Gone into hiding he is worth a billoin dollars. All he had to do is cut off all that hair and get a tan. Nobody will ever recognize him
