• Jay-Z told Atlanta radio station V-103 he’s writing a book called Decoded that will reveal the secrets behind some of his trickiest rhymes, XXL reports. Jay said contracts for the other two books he’s rumored to be writing (a memoir and a business title) have not been finalized.

• Mariah Carey’s video for “Obsessed,” which which she dresses like a mock Eminem, will debut tomorrow (July 15th) on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, MSNBC reports.

• Influential MC Rakim will return July 28th with new album The Seventh Seal, Billboard reports. The album doesn’t feature any Dr. Dre songs from the pair’s lost album, but it has a message: “Lose the garbage and rebuild our scene.”
