Report: Janet Jackson Planned Intervention For Michael in 2007

Janet Jackson reportedly attempted to set up an intervention in 2007 to confront Michael Jackson about his addiction to painkillers, a pair of sources told CNN. According to the report, Janet recruited her brothers to help stage the intervention, however Michael told his bodyguards to prevent his family from entering his property and refused to accept phone calls from his mother Katherine, CNN reports.

Following the sudden death of Michael Jackson, the singer’s use of medications has come under the microscope, with many doctors who were associated with Jackson being questioned by investigators to determine if drugs played any role in the superstar’s unexpected cardiac arrest. Jackson’s toxicology report has not yet been revealed. The Jackson family reportedly long suspected Michael was abusing prescription drugs, but Michael would not discuss the matter. “If you tried to deal with him, he would shut you out. You just wouldn’t hear from him for long periods,” a source told CNN.

People previously reported that the intervention nearly happened in Las Vegas around 2006, with Jackson’s siblings Randy, Jackie and Rebbie — with sister Janet on the phone — questioning Michael about his perceived misuse of prescription drugs. However, “Michael got pissed off. He said he wasn’t on drugs. But they didn’t believe him,” a family insider told People.

Dr. Arnold Klein, Jackson’s dermatologist and the rumored biological father of Jackson’s two oldest children, told Larry King Live that he too had concerns about Jackson’s medication use, especially the prescription drug Diprivan. “I knew at one point that he was using Diprivan when he was on tour in Germany,” Klein said. “He was using it to go to sleep at night. I told him he was absolutely insane. I said, ‘You have to quit it. This drug, you can’t repeatedly take.’ ” However, Klein added that to his knowledge, Jackson had stopped taking drugs outside of the dosages Klein prescribed to Jackson after unspecified surgeries.

IF IN FACT THERE WAS OVERUSAGE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. COULD THIS BE THE REASON HE WAS SCAMMED OUT OF 2OMILLION DOLLARS BY A SO CALLED VICTIM OF SEXUAL ABUSE.
TOO BAD HE GOT USED . HE SUFFERED WAY TOO MUCH. AND PLEASE PLEASE MAKE SURE THESE CHILDREN ARE REALLY HIS.
I WOULD HATE TO SEE THIS MAN USED AGAIN AS MANY TIMES BEFORE . AFTER ALL HE SHOULD HAVE HIS GOOD NAME UPHELD.

HE DOESNT DESERVE IT.

Wow. Lizbethperez … Calm down, hon.

But seriously. Addiction is the scariest ailment a human can have. It’s just terrifying. And the scariest part is that it’s progressive and fatal unless it’s treated.

… But we still have no choice but to let an addict decide when/how he can stop. It’s a gut-wrenching contradiction that medical science hasn’t developed to a point where more can be done for the addicted.

Addiction is a terrifying disease.

Not to mention these incompetent doctors (there’s no more accurate word to describe them) who refuse to accept the reality of addiction. Whether driven by Jackson’s fame, their own egos or money … it’s despicable. And inexcusable.

Prescription addiction kills more people in this country than any other drug-related death. Period.

God, this whole thing is so sad!!

midknightz | 7/9/2009, 5:36 pm EST

for me michael jackson will be michael jackson, i don’t of him as an insane person. he have a big big heart to anyone, we cannot blame him to have an addiction to some drugs, maybe this is his own way to overcome his sadness and depression, i see to his eyes that he is really a lonely person. :(

Fallen | 7/9/2009, 5:53 pm EST

I don’t care if Lizbeth calms down, but she sure as hell should stop typing in all upper-case and should use proper spacing and punctuation. JC, that’s just atrocious. (And Liz, do you think Janet will actually read this?)

Tony Paschal | 7/9/2009, 6:03 pm EST

No one will never know or understand him because genius cannot be understood. I think if everything bad was true his contributions far out weighed them. Feel sad because you want see this kind of talent again for a very, very long time, if ever.

susieQ | 7/9/2009, 6:03 pm EST

How about this idea.. Take the kids they loved him and he was the father they knew. Leave them alone.
AND STOP THE FIGHTING. Other wise all the songs such as WE ARE THE WORLD mean nothing.
And this fighitng is perfect way to destroy his memory for his kids.
Making all he lived for..peace, love and family all fake.
We have all lost people we love and mean something to their friends and family and community. You are not alone. Just like Micheal left problems and heart ache. We are all feeling the same pain.
If you are serious then embrace his message and work to make it better.

According to his nutritionist… Michael Jackson spelled it out with his own voice. She heard him say ‘… Get an anesthesiogist over here, I don’t care how much money they want, to give me [this] drug!’ So, he found unscrupulous M.D.’s who cared about their pocketbook and didn’t give a damn about his life and well-being. Thinking that the confidentiality agreement Michael had them sign would shield and protect them. Hopefully they will die in prison, branded as murders – which is what they are. Every single one of them knew better than to administer that drug to Michael even once for insomnia, much less repeatedly. Now his family knows what a horrendous mistake they made, not intervening when they knew damn well that they should have. As a wiser person once said; ‘The love of money is the root of all evil.’ And in this case death. May the Jackson family be more prudent in raising those deserving children than they were in looking out for the best interests of their son and sibling. The wealthiest are frequently the most troubled and insecure.

"arizona bullups" | 7/9/2009, 6:30 pm EST

Somone mentioned “if the addiction isn’t treated”…i digress..the emotional distress should have been treated, and thus prevented such an alleged addiction. Parents, siblings picking on him, the stress of being a celebrity, the isolation, all should have been balanced with some spiritual, loving, caring therapy – that he admits wasn’t there. If you ask me – his family ( especially parents ) have Michael Jackson’s blood on his hands.

He will be missed. Both the man and the magic he produced.

DL | 7/9/2009, 6:32 pm EST

At the end of the day he was a drug addict. He killed himself and didn’t think about his children or the responsibility of raising them. NOW, for the issue of him being the (FATHER)….he was not the father of the children! He was not the donor (Father) of the children. At the end of the day, he was the adoptive custodian of the children – nothing more, nothing less. Sorry about his death and I think he was a very talented individual who changed many around him. Still, he had issue regardless of what they were. Everyone should not try to be politically correct about this and say what the truth is. Michael Jackson had issues! We will never know what they were but we should not act as if everything he did was normal and we should call act his actions for what they were…some good and some not so good!

holiness53 | 7/9/2009, 6:43 pm EST

I feel so sorry for Michael. First of all to be so arrogant to call himself THE KING is sad. Wish he could have known the TRUE KINg and maybe he would still be alive today.

When..... | 7/9/2009, 6:53 pm EST

….is Janet gonna Nair away her moustache? She’s had that bad boy since “Nasty”.

arizona bullups | 7/9/2009, 7:00 pm EST

Obviously you have never dealt with a drug addict. If it was that simple many of them would be saved. Get a clue.

We get it | 7/9/2009, 7:18 pm EST

Report: We are fucking sick about hearing about MJ. It was a shocker, but you are covering him like he was the second coming of Christ when in acuality he was a druggy pedophile who made good music in the early eighties.

Marv | 7/9/2009, 7:21 pm EST

I’m pretty sure he abused prescription drugs. And what is sad, but likely, is that he didn’t self medicate himself but depended on people around him to adminster whatever it was he requested. My daughter is an addict (to street drugs but, really, is there a difference?) – all her beauty, all her maturity as an adult, all the common sense she possesses – all that is gone when she “needs” her next fix. Thank goodness she doesn’t have people around her like Michael did, she’d probably be in the same place he is today. The enablers and medical practitioners that “the stars” have on their payroll need to face up to their responsibilities for these lost souls who are their patients. We have lost too many people and, on June 25, we lost the best. My heart continues to grieve.

Yes the man died, you guys are pathetic….Many men and women die in the war, and still you people act like oh well!….Yes, the man was talented, but he also was a bad man! How easy everyone forgets, I guess money can buy forgiveness in front of pathetic individuals

Hmmm, who had the bags of presceiptions taken from his home. The media didn’t put the pills there. Was was using Demerol and Propovol which one can only be obtained by a doctor? Did the media rush to judgement on Michael? Yet you state so eloguantly that I should be rational, logical, and looking at his life holistically. WOW, maybe we can gather around the campfire and sing Cumbaya and make everyone fell better also. Just so you know, my sister-in-law died on July 3, 2009 from a overdose of prescription medication. There are not any excuses for her because she was loved by many just like Michael Jackson was. She was told many times that she was killing herself by taking these drugs (Vicadin and Percocet) yet for many years she shut the people who cared most about her out of her life when she would go on one of her binges. Sound familiar? Read the articles about Janet Jackson and even his family knew there was a problem….is that rational and logical enough for you? Addiction to anything is a serious problem and not just for the stars. Ultimately, each individual is responsible for his and her own actions and Michael Jackson did his chldren a disservice by being weak and vulnerable to prescription medications. He should have sought the help he needed and been a better role model for his children. Sometimes fame is not the answer and the greatest gift he had was being an example to his “adoptive children”. The problem that I see here is everyone wants to make excuses for what Michael did and not look at this for what it was…..a very sad day for his children and family. Nobody else matters when all is said and done. We all lost a great talent but we also lost a talent that had some issues that we will never be privy to. How about that Arizona?

Bittersweet….Money can and does get heads swollen. He did this to himself as we watched for years. Addicts will have a love affair with ME MYSELF and I. That is the saying…The MAN takes a drink the Drink takes a drink and the drink takes the MAN! I’ve seen it firsthand over and over. I haved walked away often for you can’t make it get better….They pet you and stroke your fires but all the while they are doing what feels BEST to themself, More than his kids (one or three) his family ties or himself…the Love AFFAIR is druged to the dirty side of the street…Sorry to say it was sad and heartbreaking….. watching the family and the I’ll get “them people” who did this to our “BOY”….The children need to live with Debbie Rowe for she will let them live a life of normal children…she is not perfect but neither is anyone in any family…these kids were not MJ’S Blood….and “they serve” like a circus animal that has served their purpose in Michael’s life now let those sweetones live as “FREE BIRD’S”….let then go with Love….We are the world that watched this played out good BAD and ulgy…..Let them go with LOVE!!!!!!We will be watching it ALL!!!!!! First of all, I absolutely LOVE Michael Jackson…I’m still trying to get over the fact that he is gone…He just announced his come back, which I was looking foward to.
People rideculed him and did their best to slander and slay his name…so can you blame him in a sense?, he did not have to shut people out when they tried to help him, but I’m quite sure it was a point of time where he felt that he could not trust no one.We will never know what is like to walk in his shoes…(he is noted as an world icon, just as Elvis was) If I was famous and had a chance to personally know him, I would have been a friend to him no matter what,; and I would like to think that maybe I could intervened for him if he was having problems with an addiction to perscription drugs…RIP my sweetheart–Michael Jackson….(# 1 fan….)

kevin couch | 7/9/2009, 8:08 pm EST

Its terrible that he was sacred to us when we were children, and through the course of adulthood we let this evil world make us doubt him.I hate the media for letting this happen to him..we should have protected him and held him sacred as part of our childhood, the way he held childhood sacred..peace and love.(Michael lived by this and we should too)

Anonymous | 7/9/2009, 8:21 pm EST

Michael Jackson had a very good heart. At one point he appeared in the guiness book of records as an individual who supported the most charities. He made a difference not only as an entertainer but to humanity also.I wish you well on your way Michael RIP

Look to the lives of the great Yogis like Paramahansa Yogananda. They say after a troubled time here in the physical world, the soul gets a rest in the Astral world before it has to come back to work out its karma. May Michael Jackson rest then come back to find his complete liberation in Spirit. Love peace and blessings to his soul.

I think that Michael Jackson was very fortunate to have a family (Mother, siblings & kids) who loved him so much to care. It’s a real blessing to have a sister like Janet.

SalleyJ | 7/9/2009, 8:50 pm EST

A adoptive custodian, The man has been used again. It was fine when Michael was alive caring for the children, all you heard was Michael kids but now people is saying he isn’t the father. What is the meaning of father. One thing I know is that a black man has to be strong to live in the U.S. Because some people here will take you up one minute and bring you down the next. Michael was a caring person and he learned that some people just don’t care. I wish one of the children has he DNA just think to see that talent again boy, that would be something.

So sad MJ wasn’t able to overcome his issues. If he had been able to, he may have had the strength to tell the users, abusers and liars to step off.
Second point, anyone can be accused of anything. Once you accuse someone of something they didn’t do, you can’t take it back. The damage is done. And maybe causing damage and pain was the name of the game. If you can destroy a person’s name you make life difficult and painful for them. Especially if your name is well known like MJ’s.
Thirdly, disconnect the children from MJ’s money and name and see if Debbie Rowe still wants them.

Unfortunatly, he was a father. I feel for his family and his children. He ws selfish and let them down.

‘If he was using those drugs, someone should definitely be punished?’

What about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY?! It was Michael’s own choice to take the drugs, nevermind who supplied them.

MJ FAN | 7/9/2009, 9:56 pm EST

umm yea Holiness53, you should not have said that. You just unleashed a wrath within me…

first of all. He is dead. ok…dead. You dont talk about the dead that way, whats wrong with you. Well see how ppl speak about you when you die.

secondly. he did not give himself the title King, it was acually started by Elizabeth Taylor, when she presented him with an award. Do your research. He was always very very humble, even when people would call him a creative genius, he would respond by saying god is just using him to give the world the music, and that is wasnt really him, it was god. So also, he did know who the true king was.

Third. his title was the king of pop. not the king. get it straight

Kasia | 7/9/2009, 10:04 pm EST

I DON’T BELIEVE MJ died because of pills/drugs. I believe he was strange and excentric, as most of the extrememly talented people are. I’m graduated from the music school (I played violin) and I’ve seen some of the extremely talented people and their strange irrational behaviours – they live in their own world others can’t understand. And I don’t believe in child molesting – if those parents and their children were telling the truth, they would want only justice and they wouldn’t ever take the money from MJ. But they wanted the money from MJ – so this was the reason to set him up. I do believe, MJ was extremely sensitive and loving people, loving children and the world. Doesn’t matter he lied about his plastic surgeries – it was his private business what he’s doing with his face. However, he seemed to be in an okay condition the day before he died. It must have been some other reason or simply the big money (or perhaps lack of them) that he had to die…. What or Who helped him die? & Why?….
Kate

Seems to me that Micheal was having his employees get these prescriptions for him. This is sad but he was stressed, in pain from his lupus, from his surgeries and his skin condition.

renee | 7/9/2009, 10:18 pm EST

I am sorry, but I work in the medical profession and what happened to Michael Jackson was criminal. No doctor should prescribe drugs to a patient that is addicted. The anesthesia med used to induce sleep was a serious miscarriage and the physician responsible for its use should be punished, as they definitely would be if this happened to someone who wasn’t a star.

Debbie Jazzolla | 7/9/2009, 10:21 pm EST

I remember him when I was in the 12th grade and I had a boyfried in the 10th grade……when he sang I’ll be there. Everytime I hear the song I get brought back to that day 1969-1970era. He seemed like a little brother, and over the years his family kinda became a type of royalty seeing them at different times. The whole family of Jackson’s seems to have such soul and deep caring. I can say I truly love Michael…….yet to have never met him. It’s a funny thing.

Norma | 7/9/2009, 10:22 pm EST

Michael, the candle burnt out. WE used you too. We always wanted more of you, to see you more, dance more, sing more. You burnt yourself out for us. As far as those allegations are concerned, it was so obvious you were set up – why can’t people see this. I believe your innocence will be proven. Then maybe the dreadful media will SHUT UP. Rest in Peace Michael, you deserve it!

Didn't Know i loved him! | 7/9/2009, 10:30 pm EST

I always knew I liked MJ since I was a kid. I, however, tended to distance myself from him over the years and never understood his extreme adoration by his fans. When he died I cried and cried and cried. Then it finally hit me, I loved this human being and I never met him. I am not a person who gets sentimental often but I really do understand now that love comes in all forms. Just like Debbie Jazzolla, and so many others I loved Michael Jackson.I will never let my children, their children or any other member of my line forget. Thank you God for letting me be here on earth to witness this human being and his truly incredible talents. RIP Michael, RIP.

Debbie Jazzola | 7/9/2009, 10:30 pm EST

Jermaine was really impressive in his interview with Matt Laur the other night. I could feel his tears and struggled to keep my own eyes dry, as I could feel his pain (having lost a younger brother myself in 1977) and knowing the depth of despair. Seeing this human sadness, I don’t know how anyone could be disrespectful unless they have a heart of stone.

Sure makes you wonder | 7/9/2009, 10:40 pm EST

Only God knows what is truly in a man’s heart. But if so many people cry and weep over one who has passed, that has got to say something. I know if I pass away, my children will be sad and perhaps a few more will be touched by my life. But to have multitudes of people broken hearted in all the countries of the earth………who have never even seen you face to face……..there just must have been something about you in your character and manner and love from God who created you with this amazing talent that caused this to happen to all of us.

Just my opinion here:
Michael:
* Always thanked God when accepting an award
* Aspired to love people like Jesus did
* Was active in brightening the day for a lot of ill children
* Brightened my day when I heard his music and watched him perform
* Impressed me with his heart and intelligence
* Was exhonerated from all charges
* Has a family that remains loyal to him to this day
* His children love him and say he was a great daddy
* Smartly bought great publishing rights with great forsight and wisdom
* Was a human being just like you and me who was brought here to grow and learn
* Is sadly missed by a lot of people
* Has a very classy brother by the name of Jermaine that I admire very much because of his polish and willingness to express his love in a kind way

Mdm Molly Chittick | 7/9/2009, 11:05 pm EST

Please stop all this nonsense and criticism. Stop speaking ill of the dead.
So what if the children aren’t his. I’m an adopted child and yet I have never felt that I am one. I have never attempted to look for my biological parents bec my adopted parents love me so much.
His children are proof of his love for them. What circus are you talking about?? He loves his children so much that he has to protect them by making them wear masks. What if they got kidnapped?
paying up is easy but what if they got killed. They are no ordinary kids…please understand.
I think the children should go back to their grandma. No matter what, grandmas will never hurt their grandchildren.
Debbie has no right to the kids. She wants the kids back only bec she is despicable and money is the only motive.I thought she was a kind soul who really cares about MJ but after spilling about who the biological father of the children are, she makes me puke. Why now? Why does she have to do it now? Isn’t there enough evil in this world without her coming into the picture?
Please stop those hurtful slander
and think about the hurt you would do to his family and children. You are not perfect yourselves so stop criticising him and act like “you are holier than thou”.
If you believe in karma, I hope those who hurt him and used him will get it. If you don’t get it, beware – your children will definitely receive the bad karma! Do you want that for your children? “don’t do to others, if you don’t want others to do unto you”.Michael’s children will definitely have good karma bec of what their dad did.
let me just ask you – have you given anything to charity which MJ has done but forgotten?
After seeing him doing so many good deeds and received so many bad remarks from those morons made me feel so sad.
Last but not least, someone mentioned about those who have gone to war and died. Why we are not feeling sad for them? How do you know we do not? But now the topic is about MJ…so shut up!
Rest in Peace MJ..you did not live in vain. There are millions who care about you and will always remember you.

I know what is like to be an addict, adiction is not easy, my family could handle me cause i was there, there was not barriers, i couldnt pay for myself all the medication i needed, it all became with a slight depression, then, i just couldnt live without my medicine, and the bad thing is that, yes it makes u feel better, but as a sequel u has this incredibly need for increase them, cause at a time, u take one pill and is good, but time passes and u will need two, time passes and u will need three, till it eats u, and leaves u unable to live without them, obviously Michael had a major addiction, and the money to buy these doctors, in fact, when you are an addict, u cannot leave without them, and FACT IS you think nothing bad will happen to you, u just want to calm yourself, and sleep, and forget the pain, Michael’s family couldnt help him, my famlily could help me, i feel terribly sorry cause i know that besides his illness, he felt dissapointed by the world, he was not only adicted to painkillers, but to other medication that has killed him, but the thruth is that one(this time Michael) never thinks is going to die, u just want to scape the pain, Michael felt pain(in every sense of the word) also for what the media the BAD/UNRESPONSIBLE media said about him, an incredibly sensitive person like he was is more likely to fell into this kind of problem, so to the ones saying he did it to himself, i tell u, u are wrong and u should stay away with your comments cause you may hurt people who are really in his same possition, respect him, respect his children, stop the slander, if you dont know about this problem which is a desease, stay away, just stay away. Those doctors need to take responsibillity, cause no matter how much money he will paid them, theY SAW HE WAS FRAGIL, yes he had energy, but he was fragil, so they AS DOCTORS THEY KNEW anything, i mean ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN TO HIM, they all knew more medication (this was real hard med) will kill him, they knew it, there is no way they wouldnt know, they need to respond for what they did, they need to. We dont want this to happen again.
RIP MJ, u were and continue to be an inspiration, RIP

You really need to learn to Love, stop so much profanity use, and learn to spell.

Latonya Campbell | 7/10/2009, 12:25 am EST

I miss him so much! he was and still is my most favorite singer ever! i have his albums and i watch his videos on youtube! Haters need to leave him alone and let him rest in peace! Haters think how would you feel if someone you really loved in your family died? Think of what his family is going through! to the fans, mj is in a way better place now! he doesn’t have to deal with all this mess anymore! i still miss him eveyday. I would talk to him by looking up at the sky. When i do that i feel the wind blowing on me! R.I.P MJ, love you and miss you!!!!

Been there | 7/10/2009, 2:30 am EST

You can’t intervene someone on opiates. Thy have to want togive it up and be ready. If they are, than they get suboxone and go from there. If they don’t, well eventually you endup like mj. This is coming from a former addict. And if you have been there, then you u derstand my comment, but if you have not ( like 80% of you) the you will never ever have any idea what it’s like to be on opiates, no other drug compares to the withdrawals. Also, is why the tv show “intervention” is absolute bullshit. That’s it and that’s all. Peace.

who in their right mind would keep giving Michael prescription drugs like that knowing eventually that it was going to kill him? That’s why I say they should all go to jail.Taking large quanities of those type of drugs obviously had Michael not in his right mind. It’s sad how money make people do all sorts of messed up things. And I wish they would stop calling Michael an addict, the addicts were the feens around him.All those assholes should go to jail for doing that to Michael. You cannot think straight using drugs like that. When he turned his family away still someone should have made a way for them to get help for him. They had no love for Michael helping him to kill himself like that. They are all a bunch of sorry sons of b—-es.Yes I said it and I meant it.Now their all on the news doing the same shit when he was alive, talking about him like a dog.Instead of having compassion for MJ/Money is definitely the root of all evil.I can’t believe the shit I see on the news about him.Noone loved Michael, not from what I’m hearing and seeing daily on the news. They should all respect that man’s name, his decisions in his will as well.He wanted his mother with his children and this is what they should do.They all should take a look at themselves and make a change like Michael said. And I still say Joe Jackson didn’t kill Michael, all those disbelievers did. Those molestation cases was one of the things that drove him to his death. Now the dude wants to come forth and say his father made him lie on Michael to destroy him and mainly to get money? That’s cold.God should hold court on their asses for real, and destroy their lives like they did Michael.

casey | 7/10/2009, 5:03 am EST

Michael we grew up together,I will always love you.My heart ached for you when you were here, and it hurts even more now that you’re gone.I just wish that I knew you personally,I would have tried in every way to get you some type of help. You didn’t deserve the hell you went through.Like Al Sharpton said You weren’t strange,it was strange what you had to deal with. They should all just leave you alone. It makes me want to cry when I hear the things they are calling you,the way they are judging you.I know you were hurting profoundly.STOP IT!!!!!!!!Please.Let him rest. That’s all he wanted to do was sleep. And now that he is, everyone should let him enjoy this rest. The tongue is the most deadliest weapon on earth when not used properly and righteously.Remember the good things that Michael did with what God gave him.He helped alot of people. He gave much of himself to the world. He was a genius,an inspiration,a hero, a humanitarian,a blessing to many lives. He was unique and no one on this earth could never imitate him.He was one of a kind. The greatest. He is so loved now,so peaceful, and happy. He doesn’t need painkillers or nothing else from us now,but what he really was, when he was here.He was AWESOME!!!!!Yes he was.I know you are moonwalking across the sky now and I say don’t stop till you get enough. You will always be remembered by me.Respect Michael’s mother Katherine and pray that she gets those children.

Kasia | 7/10/2009, 6:36 am EST

Bravo!!! Yes, I also I totally support what you’ve wrote.

We are not perfect too, we have our private lives that sometimes even if we do some mistakes nobody sees it and nobody talks about it or writes in newspapers. I can’t immagine to live always a public life and beeing always chased by media – it would make suffer and wear out anyone. MJ was a really strong person. In one of his interviews he said he wants to live as long as possible or even forever, so he had no intentions do drug himsef to death. Someone must have helped him… Who and what was the Motive?… we might never find out… as we’ll never find out the truth about Marilyn Monroe’s death or the real reason for the September 11th big massacre… it only proves that money and hatred are always in power in our world… That’s a pity, because I believe there are more good people in the world than bad guys, and the only thing that the bad guys somehow have more power and are more active that the good guys.

Nicole | 7/10/2009, 7:39 am EST

Don’t believe a lot of this Michael is dead someone somewhere knows something.

Michael RIP miss u loads as for his kids they do look like him and i personally think they should stay with Michael’s mum and family

Susan | 7/10/2009, 9:29 am EST

Michael publically stated he had been addicted to drugs and was going to rehab back in the 90’s. How could ANY doctor give him any of these drugs when that was public knowledge.

Well, during the Larry King interview, I perceived “dr. arnie” to be high himself – Probably tranquilizers – and things will come to the fore. As for MJ’s talent, it’s undeniable, and sometimes, with supremely talented people, you have to give to get. Seems to me, MJ was everything to so, so many, and nothing to himself. “Charity begins at home” as they say.

And, yeah, I agree, a human being is gone. Let him go.

Lynn Armstrong | 7/10/2009, 1:18 pm EST

To Janet Jackson: I have an idea for you. I have had Neurotherapy for over a year. I go to Dr. Jonathan Walker, MD Neurotherapy Center of Dallas. I would like to suggest that you turn Neverland into a drug and alcohol treatment center like the Betty Ford Center except use Neurotherapy. San Quibton has set up a center for drugs and alcohol. Lynn Armstrong 972-231-3703

Ruby | 7/10/2009, 1:44 pm EST

I believe LAPD should find out if someone hurt MJ. Doctors and nurses should be held accountable. There no longer seems to have any sense of accountability. It is so sad. But, please, stop digging and digging, about his children. We all know they are not his biologically and so what? He loved them, raised them and that should be enough. I just hope the right thing is done by them. I do not trust Katherine and do not believe that Joe will not be involved. On the other hand the kids should not be separated.
h. That should be enough

Bob | 7/10/2009, 1:54 pm EST

And, therein lies the TRUE tragedy: all this stuff people are saying will be seen by his children. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment, and ask how you would react to reading some of the things being said.

julie | 7/10/2009, 4:11 pm EST

ALL WHO IS SPEAKING ALOT OF SHIT, IS TIME TO STOP THE DRAMA, IF YOU ALL COULD HAVE GOTTEN SOME OF HIS MONEY, YOU WOULD LOVED AND NOT TALKING ALOT OF CRAP, I AM SO TIRED EVERY TIME I TURNED AROUND, I AM ALWAYS HEARING NEGATIVE CRAP ABOUT HIM, DO YOU ALL HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO, AND TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED HIM, IF THEY COULD HAVE ONLY GOT THEIR HUNGRY HANDS INTO HIS BANK ACCOUNT OR LIVE AT NEVERLAND RANCH,WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!. DO YOU NEED HIS GLOVES AND HIS WHITE SOCKS TOO? I THINK THEY

MIGHT WORTH MILLIONS.. YOU ALL WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS BEST FRIEND, WHAT I THINK YOU ALL SHOULD DO RIGHT NOW IS TO GO AND FIND A JOB, AND STOP BEING JEALOUS OF SOMEONE WHOM YOU CAN NEVER BE,AND GET A LIFE…JULIE N.C

Gloved One, Loved One
(For Michael Joseph Jackson)

My heart is heavy, as I watch news footage of you gliding across the stage and gyrating your pelvis,
At this moment in time this is bigger than the Duke, man, this is bigger than Elvis!
Though you made your living with words, today there are no words to express the way the world feels,
Right now there is no need to go into your discography because it
encompasses valleys and hills.
But where do I begin, should I start with your amazing solo career or should I start with the Jackson 5,
When you were just a cute little boy,
On stage you were talented and outgoing,
Yet off stage you were introspective and coy,
In the 70’s, you put the world into a trance with your ‘fro and bell bottomed jeans as you did the robot,
Michael, you had everyone at your feet because when you danced and sang you gave all that you got!
Nat King Cole was a merry ole soul as he sat perched up against mama’s old wooden phonograph next to Billie Holiday, Roberta Flack and the Jackson’s Destiny album,
Lord have mercy you all grew up to be mature, sexy and handsome.
Ooh wee, or should I say, ‘hee hee hee’ about that pulsating falsetto,
That reached every mansion, island, barrio, prison, hut and ghetto!
I am old school and I remember coming home from school putting on your album,
These were the days before CD¹s, MP3 players, and IPODS,
Goodness, listening to your music was heaven sent directly from God.
You were a great admirer of the legendary James Brown,
It warmed my heart to see you at an award show holding his crown.
You ruled the 80’s with a glittering iron glove,
Moon walking into the hearts of millions
Moving as gracefully and as freely as a dove.
Newborns coming into the world already know your name,
Ailing grandparents in their last days know the same.
You are Gary¹s finest but the world dubbed you the ŒGloved One¹
Michael, your legacy is HIStory, DESTINY, OFF THE WALL, INVINCIBLE,
BAD and most definitely a THRILLER.
You are the King of Pop the ‘Man In The Mirror!¹
You ‘rocked our world¹ for over 40 years.
You gave us such memorable songs as Who¹s Lovin You, Gotta Be There,
Heart Break Hotel, Butterflies, PYT, Billie Jean, Earth Song, Can You Feel It,
Working Day And Night, The Girl Is Mine, Say, Say, Say, and
we ‘Remember The Time¹ you told us that ‘We Are The World’
And to ‘Ease on Down The Road.
You sold out football field stadiums and integrated MTV music videos.
Back in the day we wore your buttons and donned white socks and penny loafers,
Now here we stand today in shock and sadness but we know your pain is over.
Michael, we miss you and though you said ‘Heaven Can Wait¹, You Are Not
Alone, and Human Nature is the reason that ‘I Just Can¹t Stop Loving Love You.’
You were a great humanitarian a sensitive human being,
Who came to earth and completed your journey now you will have eternal rest.
The world loves you ‘Gloved One¹ but the Lord truly knows best.
We ‘Never Can Say Goodbye¹ to you ³Lovely One.¹
WE LOVE YOU, MJ.

Murphy | 7/11/2009, 11:00 pm EST

The world broke Michael’s heart.
Now his death has broken ours.
And his children,
who have done nothing to deserve this loss,
Are left alone to wonder “why?”

Hey, janet. You snooze you lose.

Kristin | 7/12/2009, 6:22 pm EST

It all comes down to the simplest statement 4 anyone that has respect, especially 4 themselves. If you don’t have anything nice to say… What kind of decent human being can’t let the man rest, AFTER HE IS GONE? It’s bad enough so many made his life so difficult while he was here. To each his or her own opinion about the mans character, no one can deny his generosity. How fair is it to carry on when the man is no longer here to defend himself? To those who love MJ, myself included, “Remember the time”… to those who don’t, JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE… 4 all the people that have nothing but nasty things to say, u r all absolutely entitled to your opinions just like the rest of us, but does it really make you feel better about yourself to continue to degrade a man who can no longer speak 4 himself? RIP MJ… U will be 4 ever missed but NEVER 4 gotten…

to those I love and those who love me when I am gone release me,let me go; I have so many things to see and do you mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears;just be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.I thank. You for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled alone.so grieve a while for me,if grieve you must, then let you grief be comforted by trust.its only for a while that we must part,so bless the memories within your heart.I won’t be far away, for life goes on,so if you need me,call, and I will come.though you can,t see, or touch, I’ll be near and if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear all of my love around you, soft and clear.and then, when you must come this way alone,I’ll greet you with a smile, and a welcome home. All my love and prayers go to the jackson family

Everyone is so willing to come forward and talk about his abuse, etc. now that he’s dead. Weird, isn’t it?

anon | 7/13/2009, 12:54 pm EST

Also, I watched that Martin Bashir interview. He’s no journalist. Anyone can see MJ is slurring his words. What kind of journalist doesn’t call a subject on this? He merely chalks it up to weirdness.

Ann | 7/13/2009, 1:14 pm EST

As years have passed, I had forgotten what a warm, loving, and caring person Michael Jackson was…I hate that it has taken his death to remind me of that.

ctty | 7/13/2009, 4:43 pm EST

WOW Michael Jackson youare gone!!!
The producers of this so called 50 date tour should be questioned as well……50 years old raising 4 small children, obviously frail and in not the best of health, everyone around him saw that but htese STUPID producers Maybe 5 to 10 comback or farewell what ever you want to call it shows MAYBE!!!
BUT 50 thats ludicris and they were extorting him for money when that guy gets on tv and says he was at the top of his game he is an idiot….They pushed him to hard, Michael knew he could never ever do that many shows not any more he was a broken man with all the years of critisim BUT I LOVE YOU MICHAEL!!!!

Lucy | 7/13/2009, 4:45 pm EST

Who cares if MJ was addicted to drugs, or if he was gay… all this is of no importance to us now. The bottom line is that he is gone. The media should get off his case now, have a bit more respect for him and his family.
I was devastated when I heard. In fact I hoped, that it was all just a silly wind up, but unfortunately it wasn’t that way. It’s just seems so unbelievable that someone so gifted should be taken away from the world so suddenly. We should have been watching him making a triumphant comeback at the O2 in London today. Instead we were witnesses to his memorial service last Tuesday. It’s just so absurd. I find it almost impossible to believe that this has really happened, that he is really gone. Even now, I struggle to understand, how it is possible.

All my love to his family, specially his three children. RIP MJ.

sstanton | 7/13/2009, 7:36 pm EST

I love Michael Jackson he is and will always be the best. “I work in BHS, I blame the doctors who prescribe all these medications, they are the real drug dealers. ALL for greed. I hate to hear negative comments, who are we to judge, If the media cared so much, they would have some commpassion for his kids, No one wants to hear bad things about there dad! Michael had a special vision, that people could just not understand.

Azoy | 7/13/2009, 9:13 pm EST

Im feel really sad for my Idol MJ. People are so cruel, they don’t care about how MJ kids feel, they just said stupid comments:If he is or not the father? MY opinion, father is the one that always care for you, and give honest and pure love forever, thats is the real father… God bless those childrens and I ever ever forget how much love he give to this world..

Azoy | 7/13/2009, 9:28 pm EST

I feel deeply sadness, I cant stop crying, sometimes I have to block my mine because is to hard for me believe that hes gone already.I wish this was like a bad dream, and not a true, I really love him with all my heart, I believe this was not a accident, but I wish if this was a mudered, the true come out, I always knew that something really dark was involved, but one thing, soon or later the true come out..Love very much MJ..

This whole thing is so unbelievable to me I still cannot accept the fact that he is indeed gone forever. However it is comforting to know that he is free from his body and free of being a celebrity. His own celebrity shielded him for so many years and now its time for him to rest in peace without being ridiculed and criticized.

He will live forever in spirit …Thanks for making the world a better place Michael!

Debbie W | 7/14/2009, 1:02 am EST

A light has gone out in the world. What a magnificent talent we have just lost, and more. We should take a real good look at the responsibility each of us has in making people like Michael, who could have done so much for this world, and tried, a prisoner. Not in the celebrity he attained, but in the unrelenting spotlight we put him in. I’m looking at the man in the mirror. We all should.

Money…the root of all evil

Sabine Hehner | 7/14/2009, 5:56 am EST

I do agree with the comment of ctty, date 7/13/2009. The producers and managers of the tour are also to blame for Michaels death. It was so obvious for everyone that Michael was not in the shape for so many concerts and a following 2 year tour. There is money in the mind of such people organising the show but nothing else.

Natasha Ally | 7/14/2009, 8:06 am EST

To all commentators especially my fellow Americans, please take some time to visits “House Of Rainbow MCC Lagos Nigeria website. Read the article title Michel Jackson’s Good Deed Vs The Media Crap we know………..MJ Gave his all”.
The great book says your work will make a way for you. MJ work made ways for him and others. MJ was one of God messengers of our ERA in a circular world. He came to deliver message of giving, caring, love, peace and meekness. He was successful despite all. His time is over. Just like others before him. He fulfills his calling. He was a blessing to many when he was alive, a blessing to hand full of people as he was living this world to a better place through concert ticks that was sold out. He will continue to be a blessing to many as long as this world as we know it exists, through his charitable donations from his will and other artists that intend to continue his legacy with the seeds that he planted in them. Be a blessing to somebody today and let Michel Jackson (MJ) legacy of a better world continue.

Janet
We love you and the Jackson Family.
Thank you sharing Michael with us.
He will always live in our hearts
because he did so much good. I will never believe lies from the media and from others who did not appreciate him. He was a Black Man
who was too much for (America)this world to handle. Not many wanted to see him successful. Beleive that. I am 56 years old and wise.
from the south, trust me
I know. Sign,Lee, A product of slaves,(As all African American people)who know the ways of slave owners.

Deb | 7/15/2009, 3:22 pm EST

Look people STOP making excuses. Michael made his choice for reasons unknown to us. If he was having trouble sleeping he should have went to a REAL drn not one he could controll on his payroll for gods sake. You live and die when it’s your turn you go. Michael brought us peace and joy along with love, his job on earth is gone. Now we wait on another maybe not as great as MJ but God will send another… Have “FAITH” let go of Michael he’ll live in our hearts forever but his job on earth is done, GOD REST HIS SOUL…..

I was and still am a huge MJ fan. Being exotic propelled this man to the heights that we all dream of obtaining. Who wouldn’t want to be this important the world over? He was truly one of a kind.
My condolences to the family and I know that we as fans can’t feel anywhere near as disheartened by this loss as you do.Thereis no consilation for your loss, but I hope you guys (the family) realize the importance of opening up and letting the world know what a rare gift you guys had in a Father, brother, son, uncle, friend, and confidant. See, we only knew the performer. We didn’t know the man. It’s easy for someone who has no direct connection to an individual to pass judgement. It’s different when the the spectacle hits home. I want the family to paint the portrait of MJ that you guys know to be true. Don’t fabricate stories that you feel have to be told. Tell the true story about your loved one and how living in the limelight for so many years affected his life. Tell the story about how these doctors provided this superstar with the means to take his life.Immortalize his legacy with the truth about how great a human being he was because had the truth of how this spotlight was affecting him had surfaced long ago, maybe he could have dealt with the truth. I feel sorry for the fact that he was unable to live his life with some kind of normalcy. He was and will remain an icon. Don’t let the media tarnish his iconic status. YOU TELL HIS STORY! Yes he had a drug problem and guess what; We still love him. He made beautiful music that has soothed and inspired for generations. His children deserve to know the man who loved them, not the man he will be portrayed to be. He may have done many strange things to us, but maybe his life was strange. Could any of us walk a mile in those moonwalking shoes? I wouldn’t want to be so severely scrutinized in every aspect of my life. Use MJ’s life as a platform of the road not to take when it comes to drug use and availability.
RIP Michael Family Hold your head high! You know MJ the man, not the superstar.

To the Jackson Family:

I read the article in the Jet last night July 14, 2009. And I have been in tears about Our Michael Jackson your brother whom was dearly loved by his fans. Jackson, I know we should Let go and Let God. However, we are put on earth to discuss life’s mysteries through man. Therefore, as your father said foul play, It was BAD PLAY. And just listen to all the information in the media. Let Snoop give you a scenorio,. The doctor that was hired to be with him was following orders apparently of another doctor, had to been. This makes me skeptical about the doctors before him, not because he is a black man. They gave those orders there is no why another doctor working with such a high profile person did not investigate his history. All those doctors are to Blame medically. Michael, bless his heart through the pictures if you have an artistic eye was telling us something. And I believe he was actually seeing the wrong doctor’s due to his depression. The dermethologist, heart doctor etc…
You have to put doctors in check because they don’t follow up and sometimes just becasue one can write prescriptions they will. And Michael had so much pride. He would not turn to a Psychologist. That could have treated him for aniexty, manic behavior etc.. It is very complicated. I pray for yall, Your mother especially that was her baby son no matter what. It hurts. I hope that all that are involve in resoloving all the issues concerning Michael can be done for the sake of what is right for the children as well. But Mrs. Rowe would I would order her to have socoligical testing too becasue she helped Michael with drugs too. So all yall get your ducks in a row. Don’t let the state, Rowe are anybody make a fool out of you.

I LOVED AND STILL LOVE THE KING OF POP. HE GAVE US SO MUCH OF HIS SELF. SO WE SHOULD JUST FEEL FOR HIS CHILDREN AND THE REST OF THE JACKSON FAMILY. THEY DID’T TALK ABOUT ELVIS AND HIS DRUG USE. I FEEL HE IS A BLACK MAN JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE. HIS CHILDREN ARE WHAT’S IMPORTANT.

Richie | 7/16/2009, 4:28 pm EST

I feel sorry for Blanket – “his mother was a surrogate” you might as well say she “was a robot”. How mechanical. But, they all knew a drug addict was a single parent to three little kids. Authorities could have done something, but everyone crying now to the press COVERED UP for Michael Jackson. This was wrong.

mystery | 7/17/2009, 2:03 pm EST

he couldve abused drugs but theres a reason he did it im just wondering why he did, was it the fact of talk about his plastic surgery or the false melostation charges?either way it goes even if they tell ME it was an accidental OD or homocide a doctor was some what involved…this would be alot easier if michael would have never abused drugs people so claim…but i dont know the truth so right now my opinion the stunt that was pulled to confront michael about his addiction not good you never know things like that might push him to do it more that shouldve never been the way to go about that situation!michael would never shut his mother out maybe he wasnt purposely abusing drugs cause when his doctor told him to stop he did…maybe the reason he shut them out was the fact they believed such a lie about him…these are just my thoughts i dont know but before anyone else starts to say oh,this happened for sure…do you really know about michaels personal life or are you going by what you thought and what others are saying cause from what im reading noone knows for sure what happened so im not going to assume and noone else should either cause you could let people who need to be behind bars go or arrest innocent people(love you forever michael *REST IN PEACE!

Michael must love that he has so many blind fans that refuse to see the forest for the trees and will never accept that Michael was just a deluded junkie who could sing and dance well (or could in his younger days…we’ll never know if he still could) and killed himself thru is addictive personality flaws. Nobody else is to blame but Michael himself. He should have saved all the money he wasted and spent it getting good psychiatric help. And what the hell kind of name is Blanket for a kid. He’ll grow up to HATE Jackson for that name I promise you. Clearly Michael was on painkillers when he picked that name.

your stupid | 7/18/2009, 3:43 pm EST

his name is prince but his nickname is blanket. idk why ppl have to hate so much on MJ, like if you hate him, get over it now. he was and still is the worlds greatest entertainer, let him rest.

yoyjohn | 7/18/2009, 6:54 pm EST

It is sad that some people can’t see beyond what the media wants them to believe. It is always said if you want the world to hate you tell the public that you abuse kids. And America that is exactly how you have treated this man some that claim you love him still believe that he abused kids. I think any dumb ass could look at both cases and see that they were BS. My question is to thoes of you that actually seen MJ abuse and sexually assualt these childern, then why weren’t trying get it this “monster off the streets”. As much I love being mother and worked with childern that have been abuse physically and sexually, LISTEN “I WOULD NOT GIVE F*** IF YOUT NAME WAS MICHAEL JACKSON YOUR ASS WOULD BE IN JAIL” no amount of money could replace the innocence a child loses when they go threw the horrible effects of child abuse. SO WAKE THE F*** AMERICA AND MAKE LAWS TOUGHER FOR THE TRUE ABUSER.

I truly believe that MJ began taking pain killers after his accident in the pepsi commercial. I think he developed a dependence on these medications and when certain people in his inner circle discovered that this could be used to control, manipulate and serve them to their advantage they condoned and promoted his use of these medications making him into a slave by way of his addiction. I think that there are people who used MJ for their own benefit. Is it not the same when human traffikers drug girls to keep them in brothels to do their bidding. It is the same. They systematically cut him off from everyone and noone one realized quickly because he was considered eccsentric and odd. So who would think that MJ being holed up in his home cut off from the world was strange. NO ONE. There is so much crap surrounding this that no one is seeing clearly. It is going to end up being the simplest answer. Explotation and evil to its core. Rest in Peace MJ. With all the good of fame comes the ugly and I truly believe you were a victim of the ugly in the end.

How much do we know about this man that we adored so much?
Apparently not much…We know nuts about him when he’s alive and now that he’s dead, he seems like everybody’s ‘best friend’…We only knew him through what was written about him…For me there’s a lot of ‘if’s for Michael…’If’s that I think only GOD & Michael knew….Its heartbreaking to read these stories abt him, fact or fiction…Lets just remember him for his music legacy and his dance agility….Let his life be shrouded in mysteries as it already have….I would remember him as a man with big dreams and affectious smile who sang his heart out and dance like no tomorrow…Michael, if there’s ‘internet connection’ in heaven and you’re ‘reading’ this….we love you and wished that things would have been different…

Maggie | 8/6/2009, 5:10 pm EST

It seem improbable that he wouldn’t take his mother’s calls. Everyone should just wait on the toxicology reports and stop speculating. Let him rest in peace already!

micheal who | 8/8/2009, 12:06 pm EST

hey micheal its time for your three o’clock pinapple .he will be getting judged and sorry but guilty.

Enough of this. | 8/25/2009, 6:34 am EST

All of you people need to learn grammar skills. You need to learn how to spell. When you post something online, it is not an excuse to butcher the English language.

Michael died because he was miserable. Whether this was caused by his obvious drug addiction, doctors who overprescribed, a guilty conscience (?, hint), media pressure, a memory of the glory days and how things change and he wasn’t as huge as he was (and bye the way, as much as I love his music when he was with The Jackson Five? Fuck the title “King of Pop.” What the hell type of enormous ego must a person have to go with that? Jesus fucking Christ! Get over your own persona, dude), in the end, he changed all lives who heard his music or saw him perform, but he fucked himself over by believing his own hype. And he clearly had other issues, as in an obsession with little boys and the weird lockdown devices installed in his bedroom. Uh, hello people. The man was a hurt and wounded soul who tried to get his validation from outside of himself. That isn’t possible.

micheal who | 8/30/2009, 7:47 am EST

who ever said you need to be a grammer expert to leave a comment you really need to get a life if thats what upsets you and what do you mean he died because he was miserable you know this do you

Patty | 9/29/2009, 4:40 pm EST

What in the hell do you mean by stating that “he had other issues, as in an obsession with little boys” etc.? You said that because “you” know that as a fact? You don’t know shit. As far as I’m concerned anyone who has that kind of bad stuff to sling around about him, which whom clearly doesn’t have the facts…is “clearly” the truest idiotic fool with thier own set of issues. Far too great to be thinking you have anything worth saying at all. I don’t care how good of grammer your capable of using!

Patty | 9/29/2009, 5:02 pm EST

To all of you people who are still calling Michael Jackson (a dead man) a pedofile, and saying that his “followers” are blinded… First of all, you have absolutely no facts and if your going to believe everything the media has to say- then I have a boat to sell you. I suppose you go by what you have heard because you just don’t know. You don’t know because good knows what good is, and follows what good is. And bad? Well, I know a part of them just sit in front of their computers and instead of going to another site to talk about something their more interested in, they feel the need to slander the name of a man that has been much loved and will be much missed.. by those who are good. Why don’t you just keep your nastiness to yourselves. Your the ones with the kind of “issues” that are actually harmful to others. Judging by your nasty comments, you don’t have much good to give the world, or probably anyone. Here’s a “fact” we all know is true… Michael Jackson gave alot good to the entire world.

jas | 10/4/2009, 10:12 pm EST

At the end of the day, Michael was human, and he had faults. He wasn’t perfect, and he did his best, I am sure. Someone said that he chose drugs over his kids, but it isn’t that easy. My own father was and is addicted to prescription drugs. I no longer speak to him (I haven’t in almost 20 years) but I don’t blame him. This disease took over him. The same is for Michael. But, he was a great singer, dancer and entertainer. He was a sexy hot number, and that is what I am going to hold in my heart.
