As a friend of the familyl from the days in Gary, Indiana and having traveled on tour, I, too, agree with Ms. Taylor that even though millions will be remembering Michael in their own way, it’s a very personal thing for many of us. I have not stopped shedding tears over his demise and a public display would be too hurtful. My prayers and well wishes are heartfelt for the family at this time. The real trial has yet to begin. The aftermath will be just as painful.

With over 1 billion people expected to tune in and view this memorial, I am surprized Joe Jackson has not sold sponsorships or plastered the casket with logos of his new business.

I hated to see Jackson die at such a young age, but am astounded at how many of his so-called friends are using his death and funeral to promote their own agenda. Jackson was certainly an excellent entertainer – far from “history’s finest,” but he was excellent. The funeral was not the place to discuss his many faults, but the massive media coverage certainly was. It does not take a rocket scientist to see he was a mentally and emotionally sick individual. I believe he will be remembered by his followers, but do not believe he in the class of people like Caruso, Robeson, Presley and many others.
