Usher, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Mariah Carey and more stars have been confirmed to partake in Michael Jackson’s memorial service tomorrow, July 7th, at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson and Lionel Richie will also appear at the televised event, which will additionally feature actress Brooke Shields and Los Angeles Lakers stars Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson. Johnson appeared in Jackson’s “Remember the Time” video.

An official press release added that the lineup was preliminary and subject to change, opening the door for rumored participants like Justin Timberlake to be involved. The Jackson family wouldn’t shed any light on who will be performing what songs at the memorial, but as Rock Daily reported earlier, TMZ claims Mariah Carey will perform the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There,” a hit that Carey covered for her MTV Unplugged performance in 1992. The song was co-written by Berry Gordy, who will also appear onstage at the memorial.

Usher, Wonder, Carey and Mayer were among the dozens of artists who mourned the passing of Michael Jackson in the hours after the King of Pop’s death. “A major strand of our cultural DNA has left us,” Mayer said on his Twitter. “RIP MJ. I think we’ll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player. I truly hope he is memorialized as the ‘83 moonwalking, MTV owning, mesmerizing, unstoppable, invincible Michael Jackson.”

One person who will not be attending the memorial is Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe, who said in a statement to TMZ through her lawyer, “The onslaught of media attention has made it clear her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction to an event that should focus exclusively on Michael’s legacy. Debbie will continue to celebrate Michael’s memory privately.”

Here’s the entire Michael Jackson memorial roster, as it stands now:

Ron Boyd (family friend); Kobe Bryant; Mariah Carey; Andrae Crouch Choir; Berry Gordy; Jennifer Hudson; Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on Britain’s Got Talent); Magic Johnson; Martin Luther King III; Bernice A. King; John Mayer; Lionel Richie; Smokey Robinson; Rev. Al Sharpton; Brooke Shields; Pastor Lucious Smith (family friend); Usher; and Stevie Wonder.

You were an incredible entertainer that I will always remember growing up reading and hearing about. Will miss every new dance step you would come up with and the music.

RS should ban Harr Potter | 7/6/2009, 8:37 pm EST

Cause the dude who plays him says he doesn’t like Michael Jackson. Therefore RS should never mention anything Harry Potter-related ever again as punishment.

Michael, you were a musical inspiration beyond the scope of genre, creed, or race. The world has lost not just the King of Pop, but the Merlin of music. We will all miss you, may your soul find peace in the afterlife.

I remember going to Dertoit Metro Airport when I was 12 years old to meet the Jackson Five, they were going to perform in Detroit. I met Michael and his Brother; what a highlight of my life. I know Michael was the greatest entertainer of all times, and I will miss him Dearly. I pray for his children and ask God to keep his mother and give her long life.

God-damn, enough already! I’m so over this rubbish. Put the bleeched monkey’s bones in the ground already and get over it.
He was a freakshow, a junkie, a plastic surgery lab experiment gone wrong, a kiddie-fiddler and a has-been!

Prince won… Next.

Why is everyone concerned about John Mayer? What about Al Sharpton? Why is he using the stage at a memorial for Michael to further his own agenda of attack on something anything- this time on the media? He was the uneccesary guest.

Michael Jackson was an icon to people of my generation. He was a humanitarian and loved the world. He left a legacy with his inspirational songs, music, and dance. Some people find it necessary to make negative comments about Michael, if it makes them feel good then again Michael triumphs because all he wanted was for people to feel good about themselves and live better lives. So go ahead and make those remarks, only you will benefit and that is the point really isn’t it? You will make Michael proud…”I’m looking at the man in the mirror”

There were two sides to Michael one private one public people were so quick to critique and insult the Micheal that was the private Michael only based on the unknown we never new what his personnel life really was like but all of us seemed quick to speak on any negitive that may of arose without really ever knowing his own true story. We as fans or un fans forget that even stars are real and love and hurt and feel pain just like us. There will never be a person that walks on this earth that will have taught us so much and shared so much of himself with others even without knowing our own private story. He entertained us loved us taught us so much and never judged us or critiqued us a lesson we should have learned from him before his passing, we forget how damaging words headlines and coverstories can be even to a star,we really did love you Michael and you live in my heart forever!

Michael Jackson, viverá para sempre em minha memória.
Ele foi minha inspiração em tudo na vida.Sentirei muito a sua falta.Não consigo pensar nele morto.Mais sim, como uma viagem sem volta, que deixará muitas saudades.
