Eddie Van Halen married Janie Liszewski, his girlfriend of three years, at a private ceremony at Van Halen’s Studio City, California estate this weekend, People reports. (Insert “Janie’s Not Cryin’ ” joke here.) VH bassist and Eddie’s son Wolfgang served as his dad’s best man, while drummer/brother Alex Van Halen, also an ordained minister, officiated the 20-minute long service. The wedding is Eddie’s second — he and his first wife Valerie Bertinelli divorced in 2006; Bertinelli attended this weekend’s ceremony — while the marriage is Liszewski’s first. People has the details of the wedding rings and garb, but we will report that Eddie Van Halen wore flip-flops as he walked the long road to matrimony. Surprisingly, given that the current incarnation of Van Halen has completely strayed from the Sammy Hagar catalog, the bride walked down the aisle to the Sonus Quartet’s rendition of OU812’s “When It’s Love.” The Van Halens plan to honeymoon in New York, Germany and the Netherlands.

I’m happy for Janie. She was really sweet dealing with me in the media during Van Halen’s 2008 concert in Oklahoma City. She’s a sweetheart.

Diana | 6/29/2009, 11:06 pm EST

Good luck Eddie and Janie!

brock_vond | 6/29/2009, 11:37 pm EST

I wonder if Eddie had any second thoughts now that Valeri has lost all that weight on Jenny Craig?

The luckiest man who walks on this earth is the man who finds the true love. Hope there will be more Van Halens in the near future! Good luck.

Why does RS keep posting stories about Eddie Van Halen? It’s a has-been band that stopped being interesting and innovative about the same time MTV quit showing videos….about 1987. Guitar players aren’t frontmen, and Diamond Dave gave them style and energy. Eddie never could handle that. That’s why they have a revolving door built into right into the band. And besides, who names the band after themself?

LoopGuru | 7/3/2009, 11:25 am EST

My guess is that Eddie’s brain is so fried from years of alcoholism that he has no idea who sang on “When It’s Love”. Here’s hoping he stays on what seems to be the right track for him, both musically and personally. The man deserves some happiness after all this shit.

Ann | 7/5/2009, 9:37 pm EST

Glad to see Eddie is doing well and looking so happy.
Best wishes always.Your fan Ann

Congrats to you both! I work with Janie and Ed helping terminally kids get their wish to meet Van Halen and I cannot say enough good about them both, taking time and really getting to know these special kids making it the best day of their life. Thanks for all you have done. Enjoy every day for it is truly a gift with someone you love.

love the guy, greatest guitarist on the planet, would give one of my nuts to own a new EVH guitar, just don’t have the 3 grand it takes to buy one.Keep rockin Edward you inspire every accomplished musician.

Bring VH Back | 7/7/2009, 10:20 am EST

Congrats to EVH.
As a wedding present to the Van Halen Nation, please make some good VH music. Meaning, get Alex, Mikey, Dave and ourself back in the studio. If Dave cannot make it, ask Sammy.
Life is about simple pleasures.
VH is Alex, Eddie, Mikey and Dave.
VH can be Alex, Eddie, Mikey and Sammy.
VH should never be anything else!
I only fear that we will lose one of these guys before we can rock to VH again.
EVH, your new future looks bright, can you make VH’s future just as bright?
A nation waits for your answer.

Al's Gal | 7/9/2009, 11:25 pm EST

Congrats!

Jim | 7/24/2009, 10:09 am EST

to algomajoker…Clearly you know little about Van Halen – the band. The band did have another name prior being called Van Halen and the person who suggested calling it Van Halen wasn’t Eddie or Alex. It was David Lee Roth.

Dave el de Aviles | 8/5/2009, 12:35 pm EST

Yeah, Jim, you’re right. The guys wanted to name the band “Mammoth”, but David Lee Roth suggested “Van Halen”. Luckily he got his own way.
