Michael Jackson’s Doctor Refutes Claims He Gave Star Injection

Dr. Conrad Murray “fortuitously” found Michael Jackson unconscious in his Los Angeles bedroom, a lawyer representing the physician told the Los Angeles Times. When Murray discovered Jackson, the singer “wasn’t breathing,” attorney Edward Chernoff told the paper (he told the AP Jackson “was still warm and had a pulse”). “There was a weak pulse in his femoral artery. He started administering CPR.” Reports that Murray was with Jackson shortly before he lost consciousness, and that Murray had injected Jackson with a painkiller immediately before Jackson’s cardiac arrest are “absolutely false,” the lawyer said. “There was no Demerol. No OxyContin.”

(Look back at Jackson’s remarkable career in the Rolling Stone archives.)

Murray, who completed a three-hour interview with the Los Angeles Police Department Saturday night, provided “no smoking gun” as to the cause of Jackson’s unexpected and sudden death, the L.A. Times reported. Chernoff told the paper today that his client had not “furnished or prescribed” the painkiller Demerol to Jackson. Last week longtime Jackson family attorney Brian Oxman suggested to Us Weekly that prescription drug abuse was a problem for Jackson. “I only know that I warned them there was the misuse of prescription medications by people who were enabling him; his handlers, folks who should never have been permitted to allow him to use those medications in the manner I observed,” Oxman told Us Weekly.

Chernoff reiterated that Murray hadn’t been treating Jackson for long — despite AEG’s claims that Murray was Jackson’s doctor for three years, Chernoff says Murray joined Jackson as his personal physician as of last month — and noted that Murray is owed $300,000 from AEG, the concert promoter behind Jackson’s “This Is It!” run of 50 London concerts, which was due to start July 13th. Had the concerts gone off as planned, they would have netted $70 million and kick-started a three-year, three-part worldwide deal between the pair, Rolling Stone reports in our current issue.

Those holding tickets to the concerts received an e-mail from the U.K.’s outpost of Ticketmaster yesterday reading, “On behalf of the entire AEG organisation we extend our deepest condolences to Michael Jackson’s family and friends during this tragic time. Full ticket refund information and procedures will be released early next week for all Michael Jackson “This Is It” shows. Fans are advised to hold onto their ticket vouchers/proof of purchase. Ticketmaster will contact all its customers when the refund arrangements are finalised.”

Kenny Ortega, the director of Jackson’s “This Is It!” shows, told the L.A. Times he was “imaging” a “We Are the World”-style collaboration of artists to pay tribute to Jackson using some of the choreography, costumes and video shot for Jackson’s upcoming shows. Tonight’s BET Awards have been retooled to pay tribute to Jackson, and will feature appearances by his father, Joe, along with Beyoncé, New Edition and Ne-Yo.

He was the best artist, the best singer, dancer, entertainer and ofcourse father, Michael we will never ever forget you, I pray you have finally got the peace you so deserve! R.I.P.

Ronald d'Royale | 6/28/2009, 10:22 pm EST

Michael’s dead.

Can’t we all just move on to something that matters?

DEBBIE | 6/28/2009, 10:34 pm EST

YES MICHAEL WAS TALENTED, BUT HOW SOON WE FORGET ABOUT HIS PAYING OFF PEOPLE FOR THE MOLESTATION CHARGES. ONE OF HIS ENABLERS IS RAMONE BANE, SHE SAYS SHE KNEW MICHAEL VERY WELL AND THAT THEY WERE VERY CLOSE, YET, SHE HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY DRUG USE, OR ANYTHING WRONG WITH MICHAEL HAVING
LITTLE BOYS OVER TO STAY IN HIS ROOM FOR DAYS AT A TIME. RAMONE IS BETTER OFF KEEPING HER MOUTH SHUT, AS SHE MAKES MATTERS WORSE TRYING TO DENY ANYTHING HAPPEND THAT MICHAEL WAS THE PERFECT PERSON

john thomas | 6/28/2009, 10:39 pm EST

BET’s tribute to Michael Jackson was absolutely horrible: sagging pants; cursing; jamie fox ghetto self-promotion. This is certainly not in line with the magnitude of Michael’s success. It was a badly put together. Someone should have explained to these young performers and the host just how important this was.

DEBBIE | 6/28/2009, 11:08 pm EST

Susan | 6/28/2009, 11:14 pm EST

A jury of his peers acquitted Michael Jackson of any and all criminal charges in the molestation case. I think folks forget that the childs mother was a total and complete scam artist, con job, which was proved in court.

I wasnt there. I dont know what happened. but I firmly believe that Michael was a child until the day he died. I think he was very innocent and I just do not believe that he ever harmed ANY child.
RIP Michael, your star will burn brightly for generations to come.

I hope that your children can live a normal life with someone who cares about them as much as you did.

God Bless your family and friends during this difficult time.

ceoa | 6/29/2009, 12:51 am EST

i think we should all just quit with the negative comments and atleast have some respect for the dead..even after his death some of you still braggle over things that were never proven to be true and i agree with susan, he was a child right up until he died, thats because he was robbed of his childhood and only wanted the best for other children.. i think ronald this was the wrong place for you to be, so if you wanted to disguss something else then whay not do it else where where someone cares about what you have to say k.. r.i.p michael.

you know | 6/29/2009, 12:55 am EST

You should be ashamed of yourelves for not respecting the dead leave the man in piece or i will make sure people make fun of rip michael jackson

Peaches | 6/29/2009, 1:19 am EST

Wow. Some people see nothing but the talent – others see nothing but his strangeness, and what may have been an unhealthy affinity for children. Maybe he wasn’t convicted of anything, but something there just wasn’t right.

I can’t be the only one really conflicted here. I loved the music – and was so often amazed at his showmanship, but I can’t block out the weirdness of the life he led.

Hatred towards him seems wrong – but so do all the tributes and grand language people are using to describe him. Who’s got it figured out?

NurseRiverBoat | 6/29/2009, 1:37 am EST

I like MJ and would never believe all those sordid stories about his personal life. He was a good man; he contributed to the poor and disenfranchised, and he didn’t like fighting in court, so he paid off the lesser evil. As a musician, he was born with God’s blessings to be a master entertainer, singer and dancer. He brought great joy to this world and I think we should all tip our hats to the man and allow him to be buried in the most dignified way possible. HE deserves to be treated with kindness and respect and we should all try to be as kind to the downtrodden as Micheal did for them, rest in peace Micheal Jackson. The world is an emptier, quieter place now that you have gone.

Godly | 6/29/2009, 2:20 am EST

God bless Micheal family in this time of sorrow keep walking with your head up high knowing where your help come from the Lord. p.s. God Love you and so do I

Have you ever heard Michael’s song Cry?He is saying alot in this song.He said,”If we all cry at the same time tonight. And that he couldn’t change the world by himself. They should play this song for all to hear.It was my first time hearing it and I fell in love with the song.He was actually crying out for the world to change it’s ways, and to not ignore situations in life like it’s okay, when in reality it’s not.He said where were the parents when your child was crying. That’s deep.He said alot when he said that.I love you Michael. You will always be in my heart. You are in a place now where no one is talking about you, where you can be you,and don’t have to wear a mask or be in deguise.God understood it all,and it was time for you to go home.God saw where you needed to be released from this troubled world.I know you are happy now,and safe. You will always be the greatest.Better then the Beatles, and Elvis. They don’t have anything on you.

casey | 6/29/2009, 2:51 am EST

That 911 call was so weird.I want to know if anyone else is thinking the same thing?Who in the hell was that caller? And why didn’t he say Michael Jackson was the gentleman lying on the bed unconscious? What the hell was he doing in Michael’s house in the first place, and why didn’t the doctor make the call himself? Michael’s family need to really get to the bottom of this shit.No something just wasn’t right the way they did that.If they found him like that, why was the doctor so scared?

Some of you people just have no respect! Your pathetic. Michael didnt pay people off. Obviously those allegations were false! I dont believe michael ever hurt a child! Its just sad that some people are negative and ignorant. He is the king of pop and he always will be! I pray for his family and friends during this hard time. Oh and the BET awards was good concidering they only had a few days to put the tribute together at least they’re staying positive! R.I.P MICHAEL MAY GOD HOLD YOU CLOSE TO HIM.

so sad | 6/29/2009, 6:02 am EST

micheal jackson has finalle made it to hell where he will be punished in the most deserving ways. even convicts punish this type of person dramatically. he is no better than gacey or any other twisted fuck. if his victims could produce sperm he would have killed trillions, orally.

David | 6/29/2009, 6:02 am EST

It’s funny how all of Hollywood made a big deal of MJ’s death by making a tribute to him at the BET Awards. What a bunch of hypocrites. Now that MJ is dead, EVERYONE in Hollywood was his friend. Meanwhile, he died penniless, surrounded by strangers. Clearly no one cared about him when he was alive. He arrive at the hospital he weighed 8 stones, hadn’t been eating in days. And now everyone cares. Hypocrites!!!

May the lord be with you | 6/29/2009, 6:06 am EST

Why do people still try to hurt Michael Jackson even when he’s dead?

I don’t get the comparisons to the Beatles. The Beatles had 20 number one songs and 14 number one albums between 1964-1970 which was more than Elvis or Michael Jackson in their whole careers. The Beatles are easily the most covered songwriters/musicians in the history of popular music and have maybe the five greatest albums of all time. Michael Jackson is more like Elvis. The Beatles pushed the limits of popular music.

mutheu | 6/29/2009, 9:32 am EST

Michael was a heroe to many and thats what hell forever be.No one will ever replace him nor even come close being him.Jacksons death is really a loss.

micheal | 6/29/2009, 9:39 am EST

fuck him

Jake Burns | 6/29/2009, 10:09 am EST

MJ didn’t have a heart attack. He had a stroke in the children’s ward.

oxnardghoul | 6/29/2009, 10:23 am EST

Death doesn’t make you a good person, it makes you dead. None of us is ‘good’ enough to slam others. Some ppl loved MJ and others didn’t. I wasn’t a fan of his, so his oddities were more obvious to me. There’s no need to defend him. It all comes down to what you value. If he was your ”legend”, you’ll be upset about his death, if not, you won’t be. That’s just the way it is.

Susan | 6/29/2009, 10:30 am EST

How sad it is to read most of these comments. MJ was a disgusting person to me personally; If he had used his talent for God instead of Satan, he would have found peace here in this life. I do grieve over this loss because now he knows and lives what his testimony was on earth, unless in his last minutes he asked for forgiveness?

edcruzing | 6/29/2009, 11:10 am EST

Weather you want to admit it or not, Michael Jackson became a part of all our lives. Through his music, millions were touched and will continue to be touched. We may have not understood him; we didn’t have to. All we needed was his music and this will live on til the end of time. God speed to you Sr. Michael Jackson. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!

I will never forget the first day I became a MJ fan and how he changed my life. His positive music and generous personality was what I needed for an idol as a child, since I didn’t have any positive ones in my life. I only wish there were more artists today like him. He sung mainly about things that mattered, not just sex, drugs, and ‘glamours’ things. I hope the ‘other side’ is treating him better than the world did.

I partly agree with the above comments of ‘David’ here.

So called journalists such as Martin Bashir on CNN claiming how distraught he was. Bashir was the one responsible for sneakily editing that trashy documentary a few years back. The same sleaze who interviewed Princess Diana. Unfortunately he isn’t the only hypocrite.

What a shame that so many are riding the publicity bandwagon. Be subtle and at most, release a statement.

All the other negative and in poor taste comments here mean nothing. What will be remembered will always be the music. Nobody is a saint and if Michael Jackson’s ‘poison’ was to build a fantasy world for himself, then so be it. Don’t so many of us do that in our own way anyway?

The truth about the child allegations will eventually come out in the years to come as further evidence will be released/leaked, either for or against MJ.

MJ was the first person I ever listened to at three years old. I understood the concept of ‘music’ through Thriller.

Thank you Michael for making that first exposure to music one such a dynamic and extraordinary one.

Rest In Peace.

Mikhail Gorbachev was the last General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the last head of state of the USSR, serving from 1985 until its collapse in 1991.

He said, “more than any ideology, more than any religion, more than Vietnam or any war or nuclear bomb, the single most important reason for the diffusion of the Cold War was…the Beatles.”

Japanese Boy | 6/29/2009, 5:37 pm EST

TO George:

Despite a career of only eight years – 1962/1970 – you can find more of eight thousand (8,000)autobiography about the Beatles…and in all languages

This worldwide record of the twentieth century is still valid today in 2009.

Only God can judge Michael.
maybe he did stray away from God, maybe he didn’t(we just didn’t know) we are all sinners his where just publicized. Even if he did strya away maybe in his final moments he came back, only he and God know, let it be.

Many people saw him as great man and say that he did and said great things. Stop trying to convince others of his rights or wrongs. I may have disliked him as a person but that doesnt mean a thing to his family who mourns his loss…my condolences.

YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAME OF YOURSELF. ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE. WE ARE ALL SINNERS. THE WORLD IS IN DARKNESS, MICHAEL WAS A SUNSHINE,WHO BOUGHT LIFE AND EXCITMENT TO OUR DAILY ROUTINE LIFE. THERE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO DO CARE ABOUT HIM & WILL BE THERE FOR HIS FUNERAL. YOUR FAN FOR ETERNITY…

LVTech | 7/1/2009, 9:55 pm EST

Michael Jackson had a terrible childhood, actually he had no childhood. His father would beat them and tell Michael that he had a big nose before he would go on stage. Now he’s dead and nobody should be disrepectful of him by judging him.
The Bible states not to cast stones and all this slamming of Michael is exactly what the Bibles tells you not to do. We are not in the position to judge anyone at all.
I pray he is finally at peace and with God and his children will have that childhood that Michael never did.

All cellphone systems in the USA are required by law to provide location-based E911 service. This means that a cellphone user dialing 911 does not have to know his physical location and can be pin-pointed to a location within a 100m accuracy or less.

Not only did the Doctor wait 30 mins before calling, but he could have been easily located using any cellphone provider’s TDOA or GPS based wireless E911!
