The European tour was cancelled immediately following a very serious onstage meltdown in Barcelona. The lead singer/guitarist admitted he had basically taken too many substances before playing, which screwed up his ability to play music or speak coherently. Plus, there was quite a negative exchange between the drummer and him on stage during the freakout.

i’m not particularly a fan of this dude’s music, but i find it funny that all you bought into the “meltdown” crap via pitchfork… ive seen “meltdowns” on stage, this dude was just too fucked up to play. happens all the time.

I completely enjoy the EP and the live show I’ve seen. There are only two v’s in the band’s name rolling stone. WAVVES. additionally, the ‘meltdown’ seems perfectly acceptable to me. this guy went from his ‘garage’ to touring europe in like two months. Wavves is good … can’t wait to hear the stuff with zach hill.
