What a loss. I’ve heard Tim referred to as a “local” Louisville musician lately but clearly his influence was far greater than our borders. For all you musicians out there… LEARN HIS SONGS, PLAY’EM, and keep him alive.

I am Louisville Tim Krekel fan, we all feel a tremendous loss, a whole that not likely be filled for a long time. Like others have said previously he was a unbelievable guitarist, he could write lyrics that could make you laugh and cry at the same time. I’ve known of Tim and his work for over 30 years but I’m proud to say I did get to know him recently. Tim was a proud and loving Father and most recently a husband. He was a kind, humble, giving human being. We should all strive to live our lives with Tim’s example. My heart goes out Debbie and and family.

MY THOUGHT CONCERNING THE LOSS OF TIM IS THIS: IF IT MEANS HE WILL BE STANDING AT HEAVEN’S GATES PLAYING HIS MUSIC, AND SINGING HIS SONGS, I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY I GET TO DANCE THROUGH THOSE SAME GATES! I’LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU TIM! ONE OF YOUR DANCING GIRLS

About six years ago, I had the sheer joy of getting to play music with Tim Krekel. Since then we became friends, and I am very proud to be calling him my friend. Simply put, he had a great love for life and song.
“I Love Everybody” Tim, thank you so much.

I used to see Tim frequently when
he played at the Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill. What a great talent,
and personable guy. My condolences
to his loved ones. He will be greatly missed. “I saw a shooting
star tonight, and I thought of you”

We who knew Tim recognize the gravity of the loss of Tim’s spirit and the songs and performances that now won’t come. The rest of you should listen to his music and message if you want to improve your life and the lives of those around you. Tim was one of the few who walked this world with a perceptible aura…
