Adam Lambert “Disappointed” Over “Rough Draft” Songs’ Release

6/26/09, 8:54 am EST

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has issued another statement regarding the release of his pre-Idol work via On With the Show, saying he is “very disappointed” that songs never intended for public consumption will become available to fans. After previously assuming the album contained songs that weren’t written by him (like first single “Want”), Lambert has since learned On With the Show will feature the Wild Idol’s own co-written demos.

“Last Friday I was surprised to find out that songs I recorded back in 2005 were being released. Since then I discovered the entire track listing, revealed online today. I was shocked to learn that songwriting demos of songs that I co-wrote and recorded over the past few years may be released in an album,” Lambert said. “Like a rough draft that a writer does before finishing a book, I did not intend my work on these demos to be heard by the public. I was unaware that anyone intended to release these recordings until I heard about it in the press, and I’m very disappointed by this entire situation.”

When news of On With the Show first broke after the single “Want” leaked, Lambert was quick to criticize the release, saying it was comprised of four-year-old studio sessions comprised of other people’s songs. Hi Fi Recordings — who are releasing On With the Show — rebuffed Lambert’s statement, saying all the songs were relatively recent recordings and that Lambert had a hand in co-writing the majority of them, which a leaked publishing memo featuring the album’s track list helped prove yesterday.

Hi Fi countered yet again this morning, with a new statement that claims “releasing this music was always the plan” and slams Lambert’s relationship with 19 Entertainment. “It’s a shame that his management/record company choose to disavow their clients work and discredit him as a songwriter,” the statement reads. “[Wilshire Records], run by an experienced music producer, Malcolm Welsford, thrives on finding, nurturing and championing new talent and now they find themselves at a tremendous potential loss. Adam’s songwriting parter, Monte Pittman now finds himself at a tremendous potential loss.”

In other Lambert news, EW reports that in addition to Lady Gaga producer RedOne and former Evanescence keyboardist Dave Hodges, Lambert is also working with AI judge Kara DioGuardi, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry and producer Sam Sparro on his authorized post-Idol debut for 19 Recordings/RCA, which is due in the fall.

Good. Fine. Let’s let this nonsense rest now and not give that idiot Heckler any more free press. He’s got his album to release. Neither Lambert or 19 can stop him from pocketing a douche-bag dime so it’s my hope that Heckler just fades away and crawls back under the rock he crawled out from under last week. And I seriously hope that all other artists in his payroll in some capacity are taking note of the greedy way he treated Adam Lambert. At least they have fair warning.

Michael Jackson RIP.

michelle | 6/26/2009, 9:36 am EST

I will NOT be buying this rip-off album. I will wait to purchase Adam’s post-Idol album when it is released this fall.

Sad news about Michael Jackson, his talent was unmatched.

Hendrix | 6/26/2009, 9:41 am EST

THE PRESS REALLY NEED TO STOP GIVING THE SELF-SERVING, EXPLOITIVE HI-FI D-BAGS ANY MORE FREE PRESS AND ATTENTION. LEAVE IT ALONE SO THEY WILL GO THE F-K AWAY.

RIP MJ.

Denise | 6/26/2009, 10:04 am EST

Well if Adam is disappointed by all this then I won’t be buying it. I am patiently waiting for his fall debut album and seeing him on tour in St. Louis. !! We love you Adam forever !!!

One UK Fan | 6/26/2009, 10:11 am EST

Good, finaly this sorry sory is in right place. Adam never lied – how could he lied when majority of those songs are all over the youtube for several months. HiFi is stupid if they think they can fool the fans. Think twice before open your mouth again – well if you have something between ears call brain…
Now all Adam supporter and all music lover, don’t buy anything from HiFi.

Millie,glamb#19 | 6/26/2009, 10:18 am EST

Adam said he’s disappointed with all this crap,so I’m not buying! End of story.I’ll wait for his real album to come out!HIFI,you idiot,if release the album 3 years ago,I won’t hate you this much. Now,I’m not only not buying this album but all album that you going to release with whoever artist then you postpone to “help”

sidewalkstory | 6/26/2009, 10:23 am EST

This message was clear to me from the beginning. What wasn’t said in the first press release spoke volumes.
When you have worked in business for many years you understand how Sony/RCA had their hands as to what they could say. Those words may sound like Adam’s but they certainly were cleared by the legal department before Adam’s publicist could make a statement.

SwissAdamFan | 6/26/2009, 10:30 am EST

I feel very sorry for Adam that those things are happening! I really wish that HiFi would respect Adams opinion & wish and would not release those old songs! For my part I’m surely NOT going to buy the album or single! I’m waiting for his new album in November and already very excited about it! :-) ADAM I LOVE U!!!

Wow. | 6/26/2009, 10:59 am EST

When did Adam Lambert become Judy Garland to all these lightloafers? Sheesh.

Trisha | 6/26/2009, 11:05 am EST

It’s obvious that H-Fi is taking advantage of Adam’s sudden fame that only Adam has brought to himself through sweat!

Winnie | 6/26/2009, 11:06 am EST

We should not buy this album that Adam doesnt want released. Let us all wait for his real debut album. Adam, be the next Michael Jackson!!

Mary Ann | 6/26/2009, 11:08 am EST

Heckler is taking advantage of Adam’s fame now. Let us not buy his record. Vote for Adam in teenchoiceawards.com. He has two nominations there.

Kailee | 6/26/2009, 11:28 am EST

Please RS, MTV, news outlet.
Let this topic die!!

ENough, Adam does not want this situation to stretch it any longer!

B.S. | 6/26/2009, 11:33 am EST

B.S.

When he recorded those songs years ago, you’re telling me he never intended them for public consumption? When he wasn’t famous and was trying to claw his way into public light? I find that hard to believe.

He’s gotta deal with it. He’s famous now. Everything he ever put on tape that he doesn’t have in his possession will be released somehow by someone. Suck it up.

emily | 6/26/2009, 11:36 am EST

for any fans that were waiting for adam’s response or blessing to buy the album, there it is. dont buy!

LuLu | 6/26/2009, 11:37 am EST

We love Adam madly and we will support him all the way.. no matter what, I am NOT buying this album, and I will wait patiently for his AMAZING album in the fall. God Bless Adam.

Weird | 6/26/2009, 11:44 am EST

Weird. This label is slamming the artist it is trying to promote. That’s got to be a first. This whole situation is bizarre and I hope it goes away soon.

michael | 6/26/2009, 11:44 am EST

If his former record company believed in this material so much…then, why didn’t they release it 4 yrs ago when he recorded it? oh, i know why.

AdoringAdam | 6/26/2009, 12:11 pm EST

Adam’s fans will support him. We have seen and heard what he is capable of and we will wait for that album.
Like so many others have said, why didn’t HI/FI release this album years ago. They are definitely cashing in on Adam’s fame.

Jasy | 6/26/2009, 12:11 pm EST

Most of these songs are on YouTube and have been for some time. HiFi are talking out of their rear’s.

How can they be wanting to nurture talent when they sat on this stuff for years, then have the audacity to slam the artist they are allegedly promoting?. They are unscrupulous opportunists, pure and simple

Christina | 6/26/2009, 12:34 pm EST

Adam has spoken. Don’t buy that “album” from these scumbags, and PLEASE-RS stop giving Wilshire/HiFi the free publicity they crave. Come on now. They’ve had enough. Let Adam leave this with his dignity intact.

Anonymous | 6/26/2009, 12:40 pm EST

It’s a sad day for music lovers to lose Michael Jackson, I’m just shocked! But I’m relieve to know that there is someone else who can possibly take over MJ’s legacy. For what I have seen so far of Adam, I think he’ll be our next MJ. There’s no one like MJ, but right now, there’s no one like Adam. We all know that he can sing, but he’s also a great dancer and so creative. I can’t wait for his new music and the videos.

Barbara | 6/26/2009, 1:01 pm EST

I will not buy this album. Adam has spoken and it’s clear to me he does not approve of its release. Shame on you, HiFi.

pondernot | 6/26/2009, 1:07 pm EST

Have we heard anything from the Monte Pittman camp?

Marian | 6/26/2009, 1:11 pm EST

Darling Adam we will wait for your album in the fall as you clearly want us to. You are amazing and so worth waiting for. Hope this isn’t too great a distraction and the whole fiasco disappears soon. The world lost a beloved pop icon yesterday and I believe that you are now ready to fill that musical void and take us on your own incredible musical journey. We love you!

Swingline | 6/26/2009, 1:12 pm EST

There is never gonna be another MJ, and it sure as hell isn’t gonna be this guy.

Lambert is a television-fabricated, 15-minutes-of-fame-having gimmick whereas Michael Jackson made a serious dent on the musical culture for multiple decades and changed it in many respects.

elw | 6/26/2009, 1:20 pm EST

I will not be purchasing ANYTHING released by HIFI and the other parasites that are trying to capitalize on Adam’s sudden fame. It hurts me to know people are trying to take advantage of him.

factscount | 6/26/2009, 1:24 pm EST

There was NEVER A WORD FROM ADAM ABOUT ANY ALBUM EXCEPT THE FALL -THANKSGIVING CD-and all of a sudden “Want” is released and Hi Fi is announcing the release of an album (filled w old 1st draft material) of Adam’s songs. HELLO! You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see the greedy unethical actions of HI Fi speak for themselves. Disgusting.

T | 6/26/2009, 1:29 pm EST

You can never compare 2 individuals…each artist is special in their own way…so stop comparing…Adam will be his own Adam!

pl | 6/26/2009, 1:34 pm EST

I am tired, greedy people just leave this guy alone

Maggie | 6/26/2009, 1:37 pm EST

Adam did not even know about this HI Fi album-he never mentioned anything except his 1st CD due in the Fall from 19 Recording/RCA. Then-all of a sudden-there is a release of old co-written songs and 1st draft recordings of Adam on sale-unauthorized and for sale by Hi Fi. No thanks.I’ll wait for the Official CD due in the Fall

Sammy | 6/26/2009, 1:50 pm EST

when was the plan to release this material? why, if Wilshire prides itself on finding, nuturing and cultivating new and amzing talent, wasn’t Adam signed to a deal already? GMAFB already with this crap HiFi! you’ve been busted as bottomfeeders.

Sarah | 6/26/2009, 2:23 pm EST

I won’t buy Hi Fi album. It hearts me when Adam gets heart. I am waiting for the official album which will be released in the fall.
We love you Adam!!

pondernot | 6/26/2009, 2:53 pm EST

IMO this Hi-Fi issue is history. Hi-Fi didn’t propel Adam into the public eye. Adam had to move on (he’s not a young guy by today’s entertainment industry standard). The public is aware of Adam’s talent because of the American Idol platform, and thus his allegiance is to 19 Recordings. Adam is a creative force which should influence whomever he chooses to collaborate with. I hear “Adam” in his recordings past and current. In order to secure future success (IMO), Adam must remain true to himself and prevent any quelling of his unique sound. Adam’s value lies in his keen perception and interpretation of himself in his environment expressed through his music. I hear pain, sorrow, joy, love, loathing, goofy, insanity, insecurity, desire, fearlessness, and every other human emotion in the Adam sound. Other artist’s music sound one dimensional. The Hi-Fi stuff is just the birth pangs of a future wonderful creation.

Jonah | 6/26/2009, 2:54 pm EST

Don’t worry Mr. Lambert, I promise to never buy it… or anything else you put out. I prefer musicians who proudly write and record their own songs. Creativity is vastly underrated in today’s music industrial machine.

nessa | 6/26/2009, 3:17 pm EST

what financial loss is hifi talking about. no one is stopping them from releasing it. they can still make money from it so what loss?. or did they want adam to leave his label and market this cd 4 them. This will teach them a lesson never pass on talent. if u had released it 3 yrs ago eveyone wld be praising u for recognising talent. u snooze u lose.

andy | 6/26/2009, 3:18 pm EST

everyone get over Adam. hes karaoke at best. he’ll fade into oblivion like every other fad (Jonas Brothers, Hanny Montanny and w/e else Disney craps out on a daily basis).

MW | 6/26/2009, 3:19 pm EST

I will not buy this music from HiFi Evilites.
I will do whatever it takes to support Adam. I want my money to go into his pocket, and buying music that he intends for me to buy.

loreletti | 6/26/2009, 3:23 pm EST

I am not buying HiFi’s unauthorized Cd or anything else from them. Thank you RS for stating all the wonderful people who are working with Adam Lambert on his “authorized post-Idoldebut for 19 Recordings/RCA, which is due in the fall”. This is the Adam CD I will buy. Please help get the word out on this matter and how sleazy HiFi is being in their press releases/publicity, oops, I mean “propaganda” in how they are being so underhanded as to try and discredit a very talented singer/recording artist that they had let slip through their fingers. Now that Adam has the following he has and a “major” record label behind him they want to get in on the action and money that will be generated in sales of anything Adam Lambert related.

Blondiegrrl | 6/26/2009, 3:28 pm EST

Coming back to say: I just wanted to thank the editors of Rolling Stone for (1) reporting on both sides of the story, and (2) getting their facts straight and not jumping to conclusions before running with the scoop, like so many of the tabloid rags and shows have done. This is the most accurate representation I have yet to see of the HiFi fiasco.

Sentient Content | 6/26/2009, 3:32 pm EST

Low-Fi is at it again.
They went there, they stooped that low– they used Michael Jackson’s death to slur Adam. The bottom feeder description is more than appropriate here. I am not going to buy ANY of Hi-Fi’s products– and yes, I do check to see where my music comes from because I purchase my downloads.

It's too funny | 6/26/2009, 3:32 pm EST

This will make a great chapter for whoever writes Adam’s biographic best seller. Adam’s fan’s love him to much that they won’t buy his single or album. WiFi Recordings try to market their star by dissing him publicly. What next? ROFLMAO

anja | 6/26/2009, 3:59 pm EST

I love adam lambert’s music and I wont touch wot Hifi puts out. They are major league BS-ers and this whole incident has exposed the shallowness of their thinking. Parasites.

Lulu Girl | 6/26/2009, 4:16 pm EST

HiFi = BS

Wilshire and HiFi apparently had no interest in helping Adam’s career before he made it on his own. Now he’s big and they’re seeking to exploit him, whining when his fans dare object to their coattail riding. Boo hoo.

Monte Pittman is a talented guy and I’m sure he and Adam are still friends and will work together again on fabulous stuff.

adamlover | 6/26/2009, 4:38 pm EST

Ugh Hi-Fi freakin suck!
They’re the ones that WANT all this Drama! Can’t they just leave Adam alone! Now that Adam is famous they’re trying to CASH IN on his huge success! What a bunch of low life scumbags! I will NOT buy anything that they try to sell to us! I hope they know how many Adam fans are PISSED OFF and ANGERED at their attempt to make money off of Adam.
HI-FI YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!

Mel | 6/26/2009, 4:40 pm EST

Hi Fi is in serious need of remedial PR training. In what world does tearing down the artist you are trying to promote convince his fans to buy what you’re selling. Since according to their first press release they bought the rights from Wilshire to these tracks, I’m sure they have every legal right to release them. But they way they’ve gone about it is just not smart. Trying to spin the release as “Adam’s first single/album” and steal the thunder from Adam’s upcoming RCA release was just silly. If they’d have marketed it as “look here’s some great early, raw stuff to tide you fans over until Adam’s upcoming RCA release” this would likely have been a whole different story. Everything Hi Fi has done since has been (particularly ineffective) damage control. Anyway, Kris and Adam were on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning, and when asked about these recordings he didn’t say he was wasn’t proud of this music, just that it wasn’t DONE. These were demo quality recordings, fine for myspace and live performance recordings on youtube, but not yet album-worthy. They were ideas of songs, but not fully formed studio polished versions. I don’t blame him for being disappointed that Hi Fi is putting his rough draft music out there and representing it as finished product.

Katya | 6/26/2009, 4:54 pm EST

As Adam said, he does not authorize the release…why can’t Hi-Fi just respect the artist’s right..oh, the money!

Trish | 6/26/2009, 4:59 pm EST

Isn’t Hi-Fi’s taking advantage of Adam = stealing?

Sue | 6/26/2009, 5:10 pm EST

I agree. He never authorized the release for these songs on this album which he co-wrote. The song Want wasn’t written by him.

LoveAdam | 6/26/2009, 5:34 pm EST

I WILL NOT BUY this album. It makes me sick that they try to take advantage of him.

Fan | 6/26/2009, 5:41 pm EST

I hate seeing Adam being taken advange off..esp, this situation can adversely affect Adam’s future record…He deserve to be #1 for his debut album…do not count this BS album as Adam’s 1st!

DeeDee | 6/26/2009, 5:48 pm EST

Wow REALLY HIFI – this music was always intended to be released?? How stupid do you think Adams fans are??? Seriously. If that were the case wouldnt Adam have a recording contract with Wilshire? Why would he have felt the need to go on Idol if he had a contract and knew he had an album coming out??

Another thing, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the songs listed on the track list that are already out via myspace, utube….BUT, I am sorry ANYONE with even the slightest remote ear for music can tell MOST (not all, mind you) of those songs are not radio ready!!! Sorry but its true, and Adam even acknowleges that, so how can you now say that it was always intended to be released. COME ON!!!

True Adam fans need to listen to Adam, now in a statement and on Ryans show this morning he has stated he is unhappy about this release. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT IT!!! Fight tooth and nail (an easy fight, just dont buy the songs or album) to make sure that HIFI regrets what they have done here.

Amanda | 6/26/2009, 5:59 pm EST

I fucking hate HiFi!!! What are they trying to do, in every statement they release they say something different. Keep changing the story. Why can’t they just get that Adam doesn’t want that music released?? And a lot of those songs are already on the internet already. Srsly. Don’t buy this.

Adam said on Ryan’s radio show today that he couldn’t officially say anything, but it was clear what he meant.

DeeDee | 6/26/2009, 6:16 pm EST

Oh yeah something else I forgot to say before…wtf is with changing the names of the songs….

15 minutes of fame = pop goes the camera

and

Runaway = Glamorize (possibly)

Are they trying to screw with us and make us think more of it is never heard than there really is.

Seriously…go to utube…you can hear this all there. REDICULOUS!

HI Fi Sucks! | 6/26/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Do they think we are stupid? Can’t wait for RCA backed CD coming in the Fall! Adam will rock it out of this world! Go Adam!

Andy | 6/26/2009, 7:08 pm EST

Hi-Fi is stealing from Adam…but they won’t see a penny from Adam’s true fans.

Gets it | 6/26/2009, 7:38 pm EST

OMG NOWAY RU4RL? I tinkle when I see him I LOVE U ADAM!

mad4adam | 6/26/2009, 8:53 pm EST

If Adam is not 100 per cent behind any work or project that he is/was involved in then I’m not buying it. Period.

JSauer | 6/26/2009, 11:30 pm EST

I respect Adam and wouldn’t think twice about buying the trash. I know I would love to have any music that he puts out but not when he himself hasn’t even put his finishing touches to it. I hope all of Adam’s fans stay clear of this album and anyone that is interested in his work, just go to utube and see his stuff. Don’t buy this album. His new album will be out in November. Let’s wait till then. Don’t give these douchbags any money or fame. They blew it in the beginning when they didn’t sign him. We got your back Adam!!

Marie4thofJuly | 6/26/2009, 11:49 pm EST

I respect Adam immensely and I will go with his “disappointed” position. He has been forthright so far and this scum bag label won’t get my money either. Why should they when I can hear it all for free. I admit I am an old lady, but I never was stupid and I certainly know how to use the internet. What were they thinking, that the only people interested in Adam Lambert are young people? Come on, even my grandmother enjoys AI and Adam.

capsicum1966 | 6/27/2009, 12:25 am EST

RS, thank you for a balanced article.
HiFi will never get a penny from me. I will no longer believe them, I will no longer trust them and I will no longer buy anything from them – not after the fast one they tried to pull. They could have gone the honest route and done right by Adam and by Adam’s fans, but I suppose honesty and truthfulness are not to be found in the vocabulary of HiFi/Heckler.
I will not buy HiFi, period. I am waiting for Adam’s authorized RCA album.

Willow | 6/27/2009, 12:55 am EST

I think they should put Adam on the cover again!

AussieFan | 6/27/2009, 3:54 am EST

If you must release this album, rename it so that it “is what it is.”
Stop trying to steal this man’s thunder HiFi ’cause that’s all you’re doing. You burnt your bum so now sit on the blisters!

Mandee | 6/27/2009, 5:21 am EST

Well. All I can say is that Adam knew what came with fame. Unfortunetly its greedy money suckers & backstabbing garage tools. He will have to deal with the mistakes and pity those who take advantage of what he has. Its going to happen everywhere. Brace yourself- its a bumpy ride. Thank goodness for horns and air bags. Without suffering the shitty parts of music business – there will be no compassion toward what needs the compassion. I say stop bitching. Suck it up, get over it and move on. Business is business- and always will be. There is nothing more and nothing less to say.

Rose | 6/27/2009, 10:37 am EST

Now that “ADAM”is a huge Star, now everyone wants a piece of Him.Adam Your Friends & Fans are behind You 100%. We Love You.Hi-Fi should be ashamed of trying to do such a thing, I hope they don’t make one cent!!!!! Adam you’re Great,They aren’t good enough to walk on the same ground as You! Hang in there.Love Ya Adam!

Nelson | 6/27/2009, 11:22 am EST

Will wait for Adam’s real debut album!

Lauriellen | 6/27/2009, 11:50 am EST

As I’ve said on other posts, Adam should take the “significant royalties” and donate them to a charity, perhaps one that helps “wierd kids” get started in theater or music. It should be a charity that has opposing values to HiFi, like integrity and honesty.

windyskyglambert | 6/27/2009, 12:11 pm EST

SUPPORTING ADAM AND NOT BUYING! WAITING FOR HIS DEBUT ALBUM IN THE FALL…..nice try HIFi!

LoveAdam | 6/27/2009, 12:21 pm EST

Adam has a tremendous fan base. His fans truly care about him and are loyal to him. We don’t want this demo album. We are so looking forward to Adam’s new RCA album, knowing it will be phenomenal. If Adam continues to stay grounded and focused, all will be well.

Arch Stanton | 6/27/2009, 1:22 pm EST

Comes with the territory mate. Get used to it.

LilyX13 | 6/27/2009, 1:24 pm EST

HiFi’s PR sucks! They really went about this whole thing horribly. They have alienated a huge amount of Adam’s fan base with all this BS. If they had just been honest at the beginning, people wouldn’t be so pissed off at them. Making Adam out to be the bad guy will not get people to buy this material. HiFi=DUMBASS’s!

Anonymous | 6/27/2009, 3:40 pm EST

Why did Hi fi choose now to release these tracks. They say it was always their plan to release them, why didn’t they do it when he was a struggling artist, doesn’t say much for Hi Fi records if they didn’t recognize what a gifted, talented and amazing performer Adam Lambert is, just a cheesy way of cashing in now that he’s a celebrity, I’ll wait for RCA, always a loyal fan, love you Adam.

Laura | 6/27/2009, 6:13 pm EST

Adam’s fans will wait for his real debut album…go away Hi-Fi!

Terri | 6/27/2009, 8:59 pm EST

Notice they put out ‘Want’, calling it a debut single, and kept talking about how Adam will share in the success, royalties for co-writing, etc. Well, the memo clearly shows ‘Want’ was NOT written by Adam or Monte. Anyone who has heard old Adam material could tell right away. These slimeballs had one thing, and one thing only, in mind releasing the single. To cash in on Adam’s popularity. And they did it in the most sleezy, underhanded way, without Adam’s knowledge or approval, and before Adam’s REAL debut album.

In an effort to cash-in, they’ve completely destroyed any reputation they ever had – if they ever had one. Great job, Heckler. Let’s hope you do a better job for the unfortunate people who signed on with you.

T | 6/28/2009, 11:35 am EST

Adam worked hard for his own success & never authorized the release…Shame on you, Hi-Fi for cashing in Adam’s fame.

Seth | 6/28/2009, 4:32 pm EST

all he has to do is re-record the songs, making the old ones wsorthless

Ulrike Sweet | 6/30/2009, 8:21 pm EST

As much as I want anything “ADAM” I will not buy anything he doesn’t authorize. Just have to wait until his album comes out. It will be awesome!

terie D. | 7/2/2009, 1:56 pm EST

I wonder if HiFi would have released these “recordings” had ADAM not been such a Big SUCCESS on AI. Could it be that they WAITED to see how WELL he fared on TV BEFORE even considering such a step????? And why should WE (the fans) even purchase these when we can watch them FREE on youtube? If Adam did NOT write WANT how does he stand to profit from the sales??? and if Monte Pittman is such a good friend why hasn’t HE come to help his “FRIEND” (Adam). This just is simply TOO suspicious. BTW as I type this I am enjoying listening to ALL of Adam’s songs on imeem.com so I have my own mini concert. All his fans should go there. IT’S GREAT!!!!

bannerbob | 7/2/2009, 2:06 pm EST

I want to hear this album! I think it’s probably more true to what his song-writing is then the album in the works. The album in the works will just be stuff that sounds like everything else on the radio now. Actually I want to hear that too though. Anyway, just release the first album Adam! Your fans wanna hear!

Damn you HI-FI… Where are you when Adam struggled financially? If you sincere and honest, you HIFI should see how talented Adam is!!! Why after 4 years you kept the demo album in the garage???? And let Adam starving??? Now after Adam got his road to success… You HIFI want piece of cake of Adam.. Go to hell HIFI!! YOu sucker!!!

Why can’t Hi Fi wait until AFTER Adam releases his Real CD. Hopefully HiFi got the message when there was a very organized boycott by Adam fans against the single Want. Yes it still did sell but probably by only a quarter or less of it’s potential if Adam fans had been behind it. On the Adam fan sites it was stressed not to buy it because Adam didn’t support it.

As Adam said, he took whatever opportunity thrown at him to make a living & his prior work does not reflect the music he is working on…so, we’re going to wait for Adam’s real debut album.

Hi Babe Adam, HiFi and AT&T are undemocratic. Adam, you do MJ justice as well as the other famous singers. “Born To Be Wild” is one of my favorites. WOW!!! You’re the very best!!! Love your appearances!!! Your the real blonde angel helping people rejoice in song.

I think what really ticked off us as Adam fans is the way Hecker from Hi Fi is virtually calling him a liar and trying to make him sound like a puppet. These guys are just slime balls and handled this really poorly. I think they are trying to get RCA to buy the stuff and reap in big bucks – really not cool. Adam we love you and can’t wait to your fall CD hits the market!!

Hey Regina Adam says do the hokey pokey and get yourself a Life. Please never say you will do anything someone who doesn’t know you tells you to do, that’s a little retarded, pumpkin. Now do what I say, not so hard is it?

Cazana | 7/6/2009, 12:53 pm EST

leithel- Fans support an artist. They play a role in helping to establish an artist’s identity for those who are not so invested. If there is music out there Adam does not endorse as an artist, the fans can help spread the word. Comments on news articles are designed for this purpose. They are not designed for hateful people to blindly avenge their anger.

The indie label is probably hurting for money, which may be why they didn’t put out Adam’s album previously. Most record companies force their artists to pay for the tours, recording hours, etc. Perhaps Adam didn’t have the money to promote his indie label album. Plus, sounds like the indie spent a lot of time working with Adam, so why shouldn’t they get they get compensated? Adam is a multi-million dollar “property” now.

Sony is a big, faceless mega corporation. Do you think they would give a crap about Adam if he weren’t already proven to have millions of fans? No way! There are more than two sides to this story.

Geez…I love Kris Allen’s previous work on Brand New Shoes and I would die for the opportunity to buy it.
