6/23/09, 1:57 pm EST

John Doe, Jello Biafra and a host of other rockers are uniting on Sunday, June 28th for a special San Francisco show benefiting Paul Williams. As Rolling Stone reported in April, the Crawdaddy! founder is suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s disease brought on by a 1995 bike accident and is in need of financial assistance to pay his mounting medical bills. Ben Fong Torres will host the event, which will take place at the Red Devil Lounge. The lineup also includes Cindy Lee Berryhill, Mojo Nixon, Mark Eitzel, John Easdale, Mario Cipollina and Debora Iyall and Peter Dunne of Romeo Void with more special guests and surprise performers on the way. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketweb here.

Paul’s writings have sustained me since the early 70’s. His Dylan trilogy remains a landmark. I encourage all to offer donations to support Paul and his family.

I’m Paul’s former wife and I’m so grateful to everyone for the support shown to Paul and Cindy Lee for his ongoing medical needs and care.

I’m planning to attend the benefit and look forward to seeing you all there.
Donna
