The Beastie Boys announced today that their new album The Hot Sauce Committee Part I will be released on September 15th. The album features guests Santigold and Nas, who recently joined the Beasties at Bonnaroo to debut their Hot Sauce collaboration “Too Many Rappers” onstage. Additionally, a pair of the tracks — “Lee Majors Comes Again” and “B-Boys in the Cuts” — were sneakily sent out to fans who ordered the Check Your Head reissue earlier this year. (Check out the Smoking Section’s chat with Mike D, MCA and Ad-Rock at Bonnaroo, in which they tackle people with big heads, boats and Waffle House.)

Hot Sauce is the Beasties’ first album since 2007’s instrumental The Mix-Up, and the first to feature the Boys rapping since 2004’s To the 5 Boroughs. Considering that this is Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, it seems inevitable that a Part 2 is in the works, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. Instead, we’ll focus on August 25th, when the Beastie Boys will complete their series of reissues by releasing 1998’s Hello Nasty as a two-CD or vinyl box set. The band previously announced that 1994’s Ill Communication would be rereleased on July 14th.

As Rock Daily reported in February, the Beasties were finishing up work on an album they said featured “a lot of rhyming and playing and sampling — all combined.” Since then, the trio has booked dates at festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, All Points West and Austin City Limits as we inch closer to September 15th.

The Hot Sauce Committee Part 1:

1. “Tadlock’s Glasses”
2. “B-Boys in the Cut”
3. “Make Some Noise”
4. “Nonstop Disco Powerpack”
5. “OK”
6. “Too Many Rappers [ft. Nas]”
7. “Say It”
8. “The Bill Harper Collection”
9. “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win [ft. Santigold]”
10. “Long Burn the Fire”
11. “Bundt Cake”
12. “Funky Donkey”
13. “Lee Majors Come Again”
14. “Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament”
15. “Pop Your Balloon”
16. “Crazy Ass Shit”
17. “Here’s a Little Something for Ya”

i love my beasties.
but to me they haven’t done a better
album than “Paul’s boutique”
I’d love to hear em’ top that one
though.

Shadrach | 6/23/2009, 3:05 pm EST

Gray hairs and tired beats.

Markus | 6/23/2009, 4:18 pm EST

They haven’t done a better album than “Paul’s Boutique,” and they probably never will, but they’ve made some pretty good ones in the meantime. I even liked “To the 5 Boroughs.” Here’s hoping this’ll be another one of the good ones.

Rudy Pilfer | 6/23/2009, 4:51 pm EST

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

P.S. Shove off, Shadrach. Hope you’re enjoying the new Eminem CD, douche.

SMG | 6/23/2009, 4:56 pm EST

2 albums better than or at par. CYH and ILL Communications. Oh, and Hello Nasty. Funny how everybody hated Paul’s Boutique at the time it came out and now everybody’s one the bandwagon. Well, ya like what ya like.

Mucky Fingers | 6/23/2009, 5:09 pm EST

I never cared about any Beasties album except Check Your Head. It was the soundtrack of that time; the end of Senior year, 1992.

The sampling on Paul’s Boutique sounds sloppy to me, I don’t know why.

Jazzy Delight | 6/23/2009, 5:19 pm EST

The BBoys started going downhill when they started apologizing to women on IllComm, and becoming more PC in general. LTI is classic (just spun it the other day); PB is a materpiece; CYH their best ever; IC has some solid tracks, though then began the decline; Hello, Nasty was god-awful (sampling themselves?) and TTFB was decent at best. That said, I loved the instrumental record, the instrumentals being one of the great parts of CYH/IC.

Like all guilty liberals, the BBoys have to atone for their raunchy past, and don’t want anyone else to do what they did – i.e. drink like fish, do drugs like Hunter and run through girls like Jack. Hypocrites.

sadaharu oh | 6/23/2009, 5:25 pm EST

if you didnt like pauls boutique, its because you have no taste at all. the beasties never disappoint, cant wait to see em at the Bowl

DJ | 6/23/2009, 9:25 pm EST

Overall Paul’s Boutique was their best. Hello Nasty a close second. In fact, all of their 90’s work were masterpieces.. To the 5 Buroughs was a decline but it wasn’t meant to be a forward move. The new album WILL be insane. Jazzy Delight is a herb. Go kill yourself.

digger barnes | 6/24/2009, 2:32 am EST

Check Your Head was the best Beastie album. They’ve been spotty at best since then. Hello Nasty sucked ass though.

Mixmaster Jay | 6/24/2009, 10:40 am EST

Jazzy Delight is a moron. Apologizing to women for disrespecting them? “Sampling themselves” like it’s a problem? Public Enemy did it to incredible effect. Yeah, Hello Nasty ain’t their best but it blows away at least 80 percent of so-called “hip-hop” out there now.

grayson | 6/24/2009, 11:47 am EST

Hello Nasty is great. To the 5 Boroughs has a pretty nice stretch in the middle…

Abednego | 6/24/2009, 1:48 pm EST

Can’t wait.

Dub | 6/24/2009, 3:13 pm EST

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’ve found a way to make music that still gets attention almost 25 years after thier first major label release. Not bad.

brian | 6/24/2009, 3:21 pm EST

check your head holds up well and was completely groundbreaking when it came out. that album destroys hello nasty. bunch of youngsters posting on here.

Music Lord | 6/24/2009, 3:30 pm EST

In order of brilliance:
1)Licensed to Ill
2) Paul’s Boutique
3)Check Your Head
4)Ill Communication
5)Hello Nasty
6)To the 5 Boroughs

All great albums in their own way, however.

cockadooldedoo | 6/24/2009, 5:57 pm EST

Paul’s Boutique was the most groundbreaking album they ever dropped. Licensed To Ill is totally under appreciated by critics and Ill Communication is their third best. Check Your Head is awesome and so is Hello Nasty and To The 5, but they aint on a plane with Paul’s Boutique.

311guy | 6/25/2009, 1:54 pm EST

i love how they went back to their roots on “to the 5 buroughs” just straight up hip-hop

BeastieBob | 6/25/2009, 9:10 pm EST

The first three albums stand on their own as 3 great…and different albums. Each coming at least 4 years apart. Ill Comm. came out fairly quickly after Check your head and was just an extension of. After Ill Comm. not as great but some good moments.

Aloha,my name is Mr.Hand | 6/26/2009, 12:04 am EST

Licensed to Ill is obviously the fanboy favorite, however for the real B-Boys, we all know Ill Comunication front to back is the freaky sneaker. Aloha,my name is Mr.Hand!

Totally agree with SMG. Everyone hated on Paul’s Boutique when it came out. Beastie’s need to tour every year, im tired of this once every 4 or 5 year crap. We live in Ohio and we’ve had 2 shows in the last 11 years (94) and (98) thats garbage.

“i love how they went back to their roots on “to the 5 buroughs” just straight up hip-hop”

311guy sorry to bust your bubble but the beasties roots were hardcore punk:P which they went back to on 1995’s Aglio E Olio EP. But for straight up hip hop yes they kinda went back to license to ill with just straight rap.
I am looking foreward to Hot Sauce Committee, and possibly getting the vinyl reissue’s of there other albums

I agree with Mixmaster Jay, Jazzy Delight is a moron. Just because the B-Boys have grown up compared to their partying days does not mean that everything they do now is an effort to make up for their past. Plus, to call them hypocrites is ridiculous. Can you imagine how idiotic the B-Boys would look to be in their forty’s, still acting like they were in their 20’s. Their career would have been washed up a long time ago had the never changed their ways. Also, to criticize them for sampling themselves? Have you ever heard of that certain duo, Gang Starr? Primo does mad sampling of Gang Starr and they are two of the greatest ever. I am not even going to touch your comment about the B-Boys apologizing to women. You do a great job of making yourself look like a fool.

King D | 7/3/2009, 6:13 pm EST

Paul’s Boutique is one the best of all rap records. Eminem sucks ass and takes away from real rappers. Sloppy samples u need to be slaped.

Utelvehf | 7/13/2009, 6:18 pm EST

PiVbhW

Nick | 8/9/2009, 7:33 pm EST

JPG from humboldt | 8/30/2009, 2:03 am EST

Bottom line is the Beasties inspire the thought that there are no limits to rap. Its unfortunate that everybody went gangster crap rap on us and destroyed it for ages to come. Enjoy everyone of there albums as if its there last. AMEN!!!

timkar | 9/7/2009, 11:41 am EST

“Nick”, youre an idiot!!! “If they can make an impact?”…were talking about the beasties bitch who arent bound to any era not some flavor of the day bullshit that you probably pump out of your fauxpod…..recognize fool and get some pineapple now n laters…

Michelangelo | 9/13/2009, 3:04 pm EST

Nick, their last album they rapped on was in 2004, and it debuted at Number 1 on the billboard. Trust me, they are still making an impact. They’ve had number one records in the 80’s 90’s and the 2000’s. I think they’re doing fine, don’t seem to be slowing down.

Dr. Lee | 9/14/2009, 6:31 pm EST

If it’s by the Beastie Boys, whether instrumental of not it’s always incredible! i gotta give my props to Hello Nasty because with that album you get the perfect blend of herbs and spices from the past to the present. The Beastie Boys are the greatest group and it’s a shame that more people pay respect to the gangsta era when they really are the pioneers of the hip-hop world.

Grargle man | 9/16/2009, 5:14 pm EST

i love how it’s not out.

Shabba Doo Shabba Dee | 9/28/2009, 11:44 am EST

I’m inquiring about this new Beastie Boys album. Where it be? I shall cop it when it drops and hope nobody at the record store laughs at my monocle.

misguided john | 9/29/2009, 12:49 am EST

All there music is sick… They are the hip hop beatles. Pioneers of sampling and blending beats and inspiring punk rock as well. Beastie Boys have been one of the most consistent legit hip hop franchises since they started. Def Jam was stupid to have let them go. Russell Simmons don’t recognize them nor does Gay-Z but New York and the rest of the real hip hop fans out there know who the perpetrators out there are…

Bunty Quintijn | 9/29/2009, 6:54 am EST

I liked all the albums with Money Mark in them the best. Hello Nasty was a bit weird because they tried to make it sound like Mark was still in it while he wasn’t.

will | 10/19/2009, 8:37 am EST

will be G8t
