Bret Michaels’ injuries from his Tony Awards collision forced the rocker to cancel two solo performances in California this weekend. “The trauma caused by the now infamous accident at the Tonys continues to take its toll on Mr. Michaels throat as well as other physical conditions,” reads a post on Michaels’ official Website. Both affected dates have since been rescheduled.

“We at Michaels Entertainment Group want everyone to understand that through Bret’s 25-year career it has been extraordinarily rare and only under extreme conditions that Mr. Michaels has had to reschedule a performance,” the statement continues. “He has been shot at, had broken bones, severe lacerations and contusion not to mention crucial high and low blood sugar levels due to his condition as a juvenile diabetic yet has always done his best to make his way to the stage.”

Michaels suffered a busted lip and fractured nose after colliding with a stage prop following the performance of Poison’s “Nothin’ But a Good Time” with the cast of Rock of Ages at the Tony Awards on June 7th. Even though he was disappointed with how the Tony producers handled the situation, “Broadway Bret Michaels” revealed last week that he would not sue the show.

Despite this weekend’s cancellations, Michaels promises to be ready for the launch of the Poison-Def Leppard-Cheap Trick tour, which kicks off tomorrow night, June 23rd, in Camden, New Jersey. “Bret is excited and will be ready to rock ASAP, ” reads the statement. The injuries aren’t expected to affect Michaels’ interspersed solo shows during the Poison tour either.

1 – Nobody buys tickets to see Poison, so who’s gonna buy tickets to a solo show?!

2 – He had to have his exstensions surgically implanted again after that massive set piece knocked him on his ass.

if poison wasnt on the bill with c.t and def lep alot more tickets would be sold

totally funny and right on the money. nobody in their right mind would pay to see poison. def lep had some great songs in the 80’s but i think it was really the production that made these songs so amazing. either way, i think that def leperd is a great band, on the same level as say rush or journey.

Actually,Def Lep’s early material, like “Let It Go” kicked ass.Later when they made it big, all their music was OVER-produced and sickening sweet disgusting sissified baby drool.

For anyone who thinks “people don’t buy Poison tickets anymore”… apparently they do, I was at hte concert in Pittsburgh last summer and it took almost 2 hours to just get out of hte parking lot after the concert… everyone and their brother showed up down there, even if it was to see the opening acts…
