Also E=MC2 sold around 2.5M-3M copies worldwide and was in the top 25 best selling albums of 2008 and Madonna sold 3.5M with her Hard Candy album which was also considered to be a big seller of 2008. The music industry is in a bad state, so a lot of albums aren’t going to sell as much as they would 5 years ago for example the biggest selling album of 2008 was Coldplay with 6.8M which is not great when comparing to a few years ago. So people who say Mariah’s album flopped, it didn’t, it only shows how much the music industry is detoriating.
She’s been around for 20 years and that says something, doesn’t it? However, Eminem is also a huge artist, so if you favour one of the two, you can’t undermine the success and the effect the other one has had. I love the song Obsessed and Mariah but that’s my opinion.
