It’s been a busy day for Adam Lambert: First, the American Idol runner-up landed on the cover of the new issue of Rolling Stone, and now the Wild Idol has revealed he’ll be releasing his debut album with AI’s 19 Recordings through a licensing deal with RCA in the fall. With the contract in place, Lambert joins rock-oriented Idol contestants like David Cook and Daughtry under the RCA banner.

“I’m thrilled that we’ve come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album,” Lambert said in a statement. “We are 100% on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It’s going to be ridiculous! Get ready!” Lambert will begin working on his new album while on the road with the American Idols Live tour, which stretches from July 5th to September 15th, and he tells Rolling Stone he’d classify the forthcoming LP’s sound as pop-rock electro. (For more on Lambert’s plans, grab the new issue, on stands this week.)

The announcement comes just one day after Idol champ Kris Allen inked a deal with 19 Entertainment, who will release Allen’s LP via Jive Records. Both Jive and RCA are under the Sony Music umbrella.

“There are no longer any rules in terms of where the world’s next superstars may come from,” says Barry Weiss, Chairman & CEO, RCA/JIVE Label Group, in the statement. “We are thrilled to be getting involved with Adam Lambert as we all at RCA Records believe he is one of those rare, future global stars.”

Nicole | 6/9/2009, 2:03 pm EST

YES. im excited to hear it already XD

I don’t care about “American Idol”. So, he hasn’t done anything that deserving of a Rolling Stone cover.

One more thing, we should have a rule: If a public personality is obviously gay, then he/she doesn’t need to announce it. Really, have we reached the point where one’s sexuality doesn’t matter how we perceive the person?

Jean | 6/9/2009, 5:33 pm EST

Just waiting for the CD and for the first single to come out.
brrrrrrrrr… I can’t wait.
I LOVE YOU ADAM, JUST LOVE YOU!!

Mike/Houston,TX. | 6/9/2009, 5:36 pm EST

Can’t wait for the debut, cos I wanna hear what all the buzz about Adam Lambert is all about. I like Daughtry a lot. I do not watch American Idol, I’m like, “Who Cares.”, but they have churned out a spectacular vocalists like Kelly Clarkson & Chris Daughtry, both of who you can’t avoid cos they’re all over the radio.*** B/T/W, JP – I agree with some of your comments about announcing sexuality – but don’t blame Adam or anyone else that’s in the spotlight – blame our hypocritical countrymen & women who can’r seem to mind their own business in our so called “land of freedom” who all ‘outed’ the poor guys and picked the meat off his bones about the subject. Obviously, Adam was pushed, violated & publicly raped into admitting something he considers a privacy right.

Adam’s RS cover photo is a heck of a lot sexier than Lady Gaga and her pink bubble wrap any day! Yes, he deserves it and every bit of the international fame he’s already getting and will continue to garner when his album comes out. I’ll be standing in line for it! And this one will be worth buying the actual CD rather than the online download version like I usually do, just so I can get the pics!

Flaming H0m0 | 6/9/2009, 7:06 pm EST

My goodness! Adam looks simply gorgeous. I can’t wait to tell all my BFF’s about the new issue of Rolling Stone! Mmmm-mmmm I’m going to frame that cover and put it on the wall of my bedroom. Rolling Stone is simply going in the right direction. First it was all that news about the lovely JOnas Brothers than non-stop news about American Idol and now the ever so cute Adam Lambert! I think I’ve died and gone to heaven! Somebody please pinch me!

Mari | 6/9/2009, 7:17 pm EST
