Whitney has been considered a living legend LONG before the existence of American Idol, so get your facts straight. And To Jason, your comment proves how little you know about talent. You say that Beyonce can’t sing or act, but Mariah’s voice sounds like a dying puppy and she was not regarded as the next Meryl Streep after she starred in the dismal flop that was Glitter. Beyonce however has a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Dreamgirls, was praised for her performance as Etta James in Cadillac Records and has yet to have a movie that flops, even with bad reviews. Mariah is overrated fluff whose career only came into revival after hooking with some modern producers to make some hip-hop, beat-oriented albums that helped her climb back into Top 40 radio. I loved Whitney’s music and was very sad when I heard about her the down turn in her life. Krs4, Britney Spears went through her own “crazy phase”, in fact she made Whitney appear extremely tame, cause at least Whitney never lost custody of her daughter or ended up in a psych ward.
