- As Raekwon hinted to Rock Daily, Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah is working on a new album with an R&B flavor, Hip Hop Chronicle reports. While the first single will reportedly feature Mary J. Blige, a fresh song titled “Forever” hit the blogs yesterday.
- Dave Matthews Band’s Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is on pace to boot Eminem out of Number One, Billboard.biz reports. GrooGrux will sell an estimated 390,000 copies by week’s end, less than the 465,000 Stand Up sold in 2005 but on par with the rest of the DMB catalog’s first weeks.
- The Flaming Lips, Black Francis, Puscifer and the Dandy Warhols will contribute covers to the upcoming Love & Rockets tribute album New Tales to Tell, out July 28th digitally, Pitchfork reports. “Hope” poster artist Shepherd Fairey designed the tribute’s album cover.
- Jane’s Addiction are helping Trent Reznor raise money for a fan’s heart transplant. After Nine Inch Nails’ benefit packages all sold out, Jane’s began offering VIP packages that let fans watch a pre-concert jam session and the show from side stage. More info at Jane’s Addiction official site.
